An hour later, Seth was done tattooing Darren’s face. He looked like he was wearing traditional clown makeup. Darren was in complete agony. The foam inside his abdomen was creating a lot of pressure on his innards, feeling like they were being crushed in a vise. He could feel his heartbeat in his penis as it throbbed. His rear-end felt as if it was on fire and his feet were burning.

Seth held up a mirror so Darren could see himself. “Whatcha think?”

The image of the freak in the mirror couldn’t be him, he thought. He moved his head to see if the image would follow, and it did. This has to be a trick, he thought. There was no way a human could go through so much trauma and still be alive.

Seth turned the mirror so he could see the back of it. “It’s real.” He held it where he could see himself again. “Yep, that handsome devil staring back is really you.”

Darren started shaking his head as he mumbled through his stitching.

“You look fine. And if for some miraculous reason you survive, you’ll get to work in a circus. How cool would that be?”

He raised his head off the table and hollered muffled curse words.

“But the downside is, the foam has caused irreversible damage, meaning your cock and feet must be amputated before gangrene sets in. And you’ll probably have to sport around a colostomy bag after the doctors scrape you out. But the good news is, you’ll get to keep your clown makeup.”

  Déjà vu

Darren was desperately trying to speak as Seth tattooed Child Molester across his swollen abdomen.

Wyatt couldn’t tell what he was saying. “What’s he whining about?”

“He’s just so excited about his new look, and he wants the whole world to see his transformation.”

“What are you planning on doing….” Wyatt heard a door shut. He ran to a window and looked out. “Oh shit! Someone’s here!”

  “It’s Kenneth.”

  “How do you know?”

“I’ve been tracking his GPS. Just like he’s tracking ours. That’s how he knows where we’re at.”

  “Someone is with him… It’s fucking Barry. I can’t believe he’s walking.”

“I can’t believe he had the balls to come back.”

Kenneth opened the door and walked in, then Barry came in holding a bloody rag over his right eye. He was covered in grass and his clothes were torn. His face and arms had cuts and bruises and he was limping.

Seth nodded at him. “Hey! How was your flight?”

Barry didn’t say a word or look at anyone as he went into the bathroom and slammed the door.

Kenneth laughed. “He’s pretty fuckin’ mad. His eye got ripped out. I doubt he’ll say anything to you again.”

“If I knew that was all it took, I’d ripped out his fuckin’ eye a long time ago.”

Kenneth noticed the man on the table. “What the fuck is that?”

  “It’s Darren.”

“Bullshit.” He looked closer, noticing some green hair sticking out of the colon sewn to his head. “Damn, dude! What the fuck?”

  “That’s your new partner.”

  “Fuck that.”

“You’re gonna need to watch your back. It’s either him or Lefty.”

“I wouldn’t trust fuckin’ Spanky with a bag of dicks, much less watch my back.”

Wyatt laughed. “Barry with a bag of dicks. That’s funny as shit.”

Barry came out of the bathroom with a bandage wrapped around his head, covering his right eye. “Ha ha, motherfuckers! I’m glad y’all think this shit is funny!”

Wyatt felt bad. “Hey, man. We were just joking around.”

He removed the bandage, showing his empty eye socket that was oozing blood. “Does this look like a fucking joke?”

“Dude. I’m sure Seth didn’t mean for that to happen. It was just an accident.”

He pulled out a gun. “Just like it’s gonna be an accident when everyone gets capped in the head!”

Kenneth raised his hands as he stepped back. “Hold up! You need to chill the….”

Barry pointed it at him. “You don’t tell me what to do, you fucking porch monkey!”

Kenneth became angry. “What did you fucking call me, you fucking peckerwood?”

  “You heard me, boy!”

  “I got your fucking boy!”

Barry cocked the gun as he pointed at his head. “Say another word! I dare you!”

  Kenneth eased backwards, remaining quiet.

Wyatt was scared. He looked at Seth sitting on the edge of a table. “Blow his head off!”

Barry pointed the gun at Wyatt. “You stupid fucker!” He grabbed the collar around his neck. “He knows if he does, the explosion will kill all of us. And I’m ready to fuckin’ die. What about you?”

Wyatt knelt. “Okay, okay. Go easy, man.”

“Don’t tell me what to do!”

“Please don’t do this. I’ll do whatever you want if you’ll just calm down.”

Barry stuck the end of the barrel to his head. “Can you give me back my eye?”

  “You know I can’t.”

“Then I guess your ass is grass. And speaking of my eye.” Barry smiled and pointed the gun at Seth. “You… You’re gonna pay for what you did to me, you fucking piece of shit. You think you’re so smart, but now look at ya.”

Seth lit a cigarette. “Did you at least find it?”

  “What are you talking about?”

“Your fucking eye. Did you find it?”

  “Fuck you, asshole!”

“I was hoping you did. I already have a jar for it. I was going to put it on my mantel above the fireplace.”

Kenneth glared at Seth. “Don’t antagonize him.”

Barry laughed. “That’s right. You need to listen to your boy.” He shook the gun at Seth. “I’m in control now, dumbass.”

“You’re about an ignorant fucker, aren’t you?”

  “Keep talking! I dare you!”

“I guess you don’t remember what happened the last time you pointed a gun at me.”

Barry’s heart felt like it stopped. The last time he pointed a gun at Seth, it didn’t have a firing pin. And then Seth punished him by cutting off his penis. “Bullshit! I’ve had this gun with me the whole time. There’s no way you removed the firing pin.”

  “Déjà vu, nimrod.”

Barry’s facial expression became blank as he turned the gun sideways to look at it. Before he knew what happened, Kenneth had snuck up behind him and knocked him out with a club.

Wyatt was relieved as he picked up the gun from the floor. “Thank God this damn thing didn’t have a firing pin.”

Seth took the gun from him. “I didn’t say that.”

  His eyes got big. “What?”

“I didn’t even know he was carrying.”

“Then what was that all about?”

“I was just reminding the dipshit what had happened last time. He’s the one who assumed the gun wouldn’t work.”

“You crazy motherfucker! He could have shot all of us.”

Kenneth kicked Barry in the stomach. “Fuck this little bastard! Let’s bury his ass.” He pulled out a knife.

Wyatt interrupted. “Hold up. I know he can be a prick, but killing him isn’t the answer.”

Kenneth was mad. “This motherfucker was going to kill us.”

“I just think he was upset and trying to get some attention. If he wanted to kill us, he would have.”

Kenneth looked at Seth. “What do you think?”

“The fucker makes me laugh, but y’all can do whatever you want.”

“I vote to cut his throat.”

Wyatt shook his head. “I disagree.”

Seth looked at his watch. It was 4:30 AM. “We have to get rollin’ if we’re going to stay on schedule.”

Wyatt pointed at Barry. “What are we going to do with him?”

  “He’s your problem now.”

“Oh. So, what’s the game plan?”

  “You need
to take the RV to Horizon City. I’ve already reserved a spot at Bucky’s RV Park. Kenneth and I will meet you there.”

  “Are you going with Kenneth?”

“No. I’m taking the Toyota. I need to drop Darren off in Abilene, then head to Lubbock to pick up Jerry. I’ll also have to pick up Robert in Midland. Kenneth has to pick up Brandon from Fort Stockton and Brian in El Paso.”

Kenneth walked to the door. “I’m out of here.”

Seth nodded. “Alright. Just remember, Brian lives in a trailer park full of hillbillies. Don’t wind up like Marsellus Wallace in Pulp Fiction with your pants around your ankles.”

“I can handle myself just fine.” He walked out the door.

Wyatt pointed towards Gus and Andrew. “What do you want to do with them?”

  “Nothing. They’re not going anywhere.”

Wyatt noticed Gus’ rear-end was charred, and there were cracks oozing fluid. “Gus looks dead.”

Seth checked his pulse. “Nope. He’s alive.”

“How? His guts must be cooked.”

He unplugged the soldering iron, leaving it in his anus. “It’s surprising sometimes how much trauma humans can endure. On the other hand, I’ve seen people fall dead from the simplest things.”

  “What about Andrew?”

  “He’s just playing possum.”

“Do you want to leave him sewn to Gus, or hang him on the wall?”

  “He’s fine where he’s at.”

“I just want to make sure he doesn’t get loose while I’m driving.”

“He’s not going anywhere with his nuts nailed to the floor.” Seth removed a tarp that was covering the Toyota 4x4. “Help me load up Darren.”

After they put Darren in the bed, Seth backed the truck out of the RV, then started to drive off, but stopped and got out.

Wyatt was closing the rear door. “Did you forget something?”

“Let’s put Barry on a table.”

  “Why?”

“I got this idea running through my head, and if I don’t do it, it will drive me fucking crazy.”

Idle Hands are the Devil’s Playground

Barry awoke on one of the stainless-steel tables with a bad headache. He looked around, noticing he was alone, and realized the RV was moving. Horror engulfed him when he remembered what had happened earlier, fearing that Seth had done something bad to him. When he tried to move his arms, his right hand was stuck in his waistband by his crotch, and his other hand was numb. He tried to move the fingers on his left hand, but they were paralyzed. He looked closer, and was horrified to note fresh stitching on his wrist. The last time he had pulled a gun on Seth, he paid a hefty price.

He rolled to his side and sat up, then tried to pull his right hand loose again, but it wouldn’t budge. Oh my God! What has he done to me, he thought? He ran to the bathroom to look in the mirror. His heart felt like it stopped when he saw his reflection. A spring was coming out of his empty eye socket and had a plastic eyeball on the end. He was grossed out and wanted to remove it. He pushed on the spring with his left hand, but it wouldn’t come off. He looked closer in the mirror and noticed it was stitched in place. There was no way he was going to get it out unless he could get his right hand free, so he started rubbing against the vanity to pull down his pants. As they started sliding off, he saw that his hand was gripping the handle of a revolver. His hand and fingers appeared to be glued to the gun, and the gun glued to his lower abdomen. Only his index finger was free to move around, but unfortunately, it was next to the trigger. He could feel the end of the barrel poking him in the penis. He was horrified; knowing if he pulled at his hand, the gun could go off.

He was in a hell of a predicament and wasn’t sure what to do. Should he go see who was up front? What if Seth was in the RV, he thought? He might have further plans for him. Plans that involve doing something a lot worse than what he’d already done to him. Should he take his chances and jump out of the RV? He eased towards the front to see who was up there, observing that Wyatt was driving and the passenger seat was empty. He thought about taking out Wyatt so he could escape, but how? Both of his hands were useless. He was racking his brain, trying to think of a way to get out of this horrible situation.

Barry went to the back and started looking for things that he could use against Wyatt. Since he wouldn’t be able to use his hands, he started looking for items he could pick up with his teeth. A screwdriver might work, he thought. He picked one up off the workbench with his mouth, then pretended to stab with it. He spit it out and picked up a hammer. He tried to swing it, but it went flying across the room—his mouth wasn’t strong enough to hold onto the handle. He was almost ready to give up when he noticed a syringe in a trashcan. He could hold the barrel with his teeth while pushing the plunger with his tongue. How perfect, he thought. It would be easy to sneak up on Wyatt and inject air into the back of his neck. The syringe was at the bottom of the trashcan, so he kicked it over and crawled inside. He was about to grab it with his teeth when the RV came to an abrupt stop, causing Barry and the trashcan to slide across the floor and crash into a wall.

“Stop fucking around and get your ass up here!”

Barry stumbled to his feet and looked around to see who was yelling at him.

“I said get your ass up here!”

He eased to the front. “I… Uh….”

Wyatt pointed. “Sit down. You’re freaking me out.”

He sat in the passenger seat. “What do you mean? I was just hanging out in the back.”

“You know there are cameras back there and I can see everything?”

Barry was embarrassed, but also scared. “I know that. So, where’s everyone else?”

“Seth just dropped Darren off in Abilene. He’s now on his way to Lubbock. And Kenneth is heading to Fort Stockton.”

“Why did he take Darren to Abilene?”

“He hung him on a building downtown as an example to the other molesters.”

“Oh. So where are we going?”

  “Horizon City.”

  “For what?”

Wyatt looked at him. “You know you want to ask, so stop beating around the bush.”

Barry looked out the window. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Really? You have a fucking spring sticking out of your eye socket and your hand is glued to a gun that is pointed at your dick.”

He had a serious expression as he looked at Wyatt. “Did you have anything to do with this?”

  “Not really.”

“Not really? Either you did or you didn’t.”

“It’s kind of hard to explain.”

“You sorry motherfucker! I bet you think this shit is funny?”

“Hold up! You’re lucky this is all that happened. Seth and Kenneth wanted to cut your fucking throat, but I talked them out of it.”

  His eye opened wide. “What?”

  “You heard me.”

“That’s fucked up! What did I do to y’all?”

“Do you not remember pointing a gun at us?”

“I remember you telling Seth to blow my head off.”

“That’s because I thought you were going to start shooting.”

“If I wanted to, you’d be dead right now.”

Barry’s aggressiveness was starting to piss off Wyatt. “How was I supposed to know you were just wanting attention like a spoiled brat?”

Barry became upset too and started yelling. “I wasn’t wanting attention like some fag. I was just pissed about my eye, you asshole!”

“Dude, you just need to chill out and count your blessings.”

“Blessings? Look what he did to me.” He shook his head, causing the eye to bounce around. “I look like a fucking idiot with this thing hanging off my face. He did this just to humiliate me.”

“He did it because you wanted your eye back and caused a hell of a commotion over it.”

“Yeah, my eye. Not this stupid toy.”

  “I don’t want to r
ub salt in your wounds, but that’s not a toy.”

“Huh?” He turned the rearview mirror so he could look in it. “What the fuck? I know this isn’t what I think it is?”

  “Yep, it’s your eye.”

“You’re just fucking with me. He wouldn’t go all the way back and look for it.”

“You apparently don’t know Seth very well. He’d fuckin’ climb Mount Everest just to fuck with someone. But in this case, you’re right. Kenneth found it when he picked you up. It was laying right next to you.”

He was so mad his face was red. “That sneaky fucker! He’ll get his!”

“I think you need to calm down before something else bad happens to you.”

“Speaking of bad.” He held up his left hand. “What the fuck did y’all do to my hand?”

“I didn’t do shit to it.”

“Then Seth. What the fuck did he do?”

“Not sure, but he said idle hands are the devil’s playground. That’s why he paralyzed it. And he also said, since you like pointing guns at people’s heads, he thought you would like pointing one at yours. That’s why you have one pointed at your dick.”

He shook his hand in front of Wyatt’s face. “You better hope this shit isn’t permanent, or someone’s going to die.”

“I don’t think you’re in any position to make threats.”

“Y’all better grow some fucking eyes in the back of your heads.”

  “Are you threatening me?”

He smiled as he leaned back in his chair. “Not at all. It’s all good.”

Wyatt was furious. “Seth told me to remove the gun when you woke up.”

“How in the fuck are you going to do that? It’s fucking glued to me.”

  “Just come here.”

Barry stood next to him. “Be careful! It’s pointed at my fucking dick!”

“I know. Is your finger away from the trigger?

  “Hell yes! I’m not stupid.”

“And you better keep it that way unless you want your dick blown off.” Wyatt cocked the hammer back.

Barry’s eye got big. “What the fuck are you doing?”

“What Seth told me to do, now get the hell away from me.”

“Hold up! You said you were going to remove it!”
