The Groves at Scythe Grove are the equivalent of Houses in high school and came about when my Facebook Reader Group, the Paranormal Council, revealed that a lot of them never realised it was a real thing in UK schools. As Houses influenced such a big part of my school life, I wanted to include them in one of my academy books. It was too late to include them in the stories set at Grimalkin, Sabre Woods, or Grimm, but luckily for me, I had Scythe Grove coming up! My partner and I spent a fun night coming up with the names, mottos, and other things associated with the Groves, and then the artwork was formed!
