Sarah and Adam walked down the steps. Rain rushed over to throw her arms around Raven and Sarah. “You came!” Rain cried. All three women held each other tightly.
Raven glanced at Jack, he looked at her and nodded. “Rain, we need to get the kids inside. They cannot see this!” Rain looked over at Jack and knew what was coming.
“This is a nice house; I am gonna like this house!” Jack continued to say.
Bray and Zoe had prisoners on their knees. Jack looked over to them.
He pointed to Gabe, “Stay there, just gotta do something!”
Jack walked over to Jacob, who quickly handed him his sidearm. Then Jack continued his walk to the prisoners.
“HUNGRY?” Jack asked.
They looked at him, but suddenly he pointed his sidearm and shot each of them in the head. As he walked back Jacob joined him.
Gabe was getting back to his feet. “Who the fuck are you?”
“He’s ‘The Reaper’. Bitch!” Jacob told him.
Gabe closed his eyes, he knew in that moment he was fucked.
Jack circled Gabe. “I wanna tell you a story. A story of a young man, who had the greatest smile. Even with all the horror around him, he would smile. He had a way of warming your heart, and he was my friend.” Jack moved nose to nose with him. “Do you know his name?”
Gabe remained silent.
“I SAID, DO YOU KNOW HIS NAME?” Jack shouted.
Gabe smirked. “Nah! But he tasted good!”
Jack backed away, he walked around for a moment. There was a work bench nearby, he grabbed a hammer. “His name was Eddie and I loved him!”
Jack kicked Gabe to the ground and climbed on top of him, he held Gabe’s head down. “You need to see a dentist!” The fear grew on Gabe’s face.
Jack starting to smash the hammer into Gabe’s teeth, shattering them. Blood and tooth fragments bubbled from his mouth. Jack was about to slam the hammer into his skull when a voice shouted out.
“JACK!”
Looking up, he could see a skinny, beaten and bloodied man approach him. Jack stood up and walked towards him. “Bray?”
Bray looked around, he began to shake and fell into Jack’s arm. He buried his head into Jack’s chest as he cried. “I’m here brother, I’m here!” Jack held him tight, refusing to let him go. Everyone watched them.
Gabe began to crawl across the muddy ground, blood still bubbling from his mouth. His teeth scattered behind him.
“Where are, you going?” Jack asked as he kicked him back down.
Jack crouched down to speak to him. “God I wanna kill you, I really do!” He pulled his machete clear. “But, I think there is someone who wants its more than me.” Jack stood up, flipping his machete to Bray.
“NO!” Gabe screamed. “I’M SORRY!”
Bray showed no mercy and went crazy, smashing the machete into Gabe face. Bray screamed as he continued to repeatedly bashing and destroying Gabe’s head. Blood sprayed in the air covering Bray. Jack placed his hand on Bray’s head. The man was covered in dripping blood. Jack helped him up, “Come on.”
They walked away leaving the body on the ground. Celine looked to see Brandon dead bedside her, she looked at Gabe whose head was now missing, caved into the mud.
Jacob took ahold of Bray. Jack walked over to Celine, who was still being held by Kat.
“Remove your shoes and socks!” Jack told her calmly.
She looked at him. Without argument, she removed them, she stood barefoot on the mud. “Now your trousers.”
“What?” she asked in fear.
Jack looked at her angrily. “I would rather fuck Porky Pig than you! So, don’t flatter yourself.”
She removed her trousers.
“Kat, please evict this bitch!”
Kat took her over to the gate and threw her outside alone and half naked.
CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT
DEPART
It had been hours since they had attacked the Fort. Jack stood on the wall and looked out over the landscape. Bray approached him from behind, he was now cleaned up. Jack turned to greet him.
“Hey buddy!”
Bray just nodded. Jack could see the spark in his eyes was gone.
“How are you? They took you and Raven, last time I saw you.” Bray asked.
Jack looked at his friend. “Meh, bit of torture. Had my balls wired up to a car battery. So just a regular Saturday night out!”
He noticed Bray try to laugh, but he never heard a sound from him.
“What happened?” Jack asked.
“I have to leave for a while. I need to leave!” Bray replied.
Jack did not argue; he placed his arm on Bray’s shoulder. “What happened?” He asked again, softly.
Bray shook his head refusing to answer. Jack placed his hands on both sides of Bray’s face and held it, locking eyes with him. Bray began to cry.
“Me or Jennifer!”
Jack did not need to hear anything else. He placed his arm around his friend. “They broke me, Jack!” He sobbed.
He simply held his friend.
Down below Taylor was helping Ryan clear the bodies. “Jack killed all of them?”
“Nah, just most of them.” Ryan joked.
“Can I ask you something?” Taylor asked.
“Go ahead!”
Taylor looked around him, and then asked, “Is Jack genuine?”
Ryan looked confused. “Genuine?”
“He tough, I can see that. But the way he spoke to Brad. The way he treats the people he cares about.”
“Oh, I see. Put it this way. When I first met him, I was coward. I actually tried to pull children from a helicopter to save my own life.” He laughed to himself. “Then Jack punched me out. He was the first one to give me a chance. Show him loyalty and he will kill and die for you!” Ryan told him.
Taylor smiled. “I was hoping to hear that.”
“Stay close kid and all will be good.”
Jack walked down the stone stairs, he approached Adam.
“Adam, get a car ready. Extra fuel, weapons, ammo and food.”
“What for?” Adam asked.
Jack looked at him and in a somber voice he replied. “Just do it!” He walked away.
Raven and Sarah were with the kids and Rain. Jack walked into the large room. Raven approached him. “Give the kids as much food as they want. We will worry about everything else later!” Jack told her. She was shocked that he just walked away from her towards Rain.
He crouched in front of Rain and took her hand. “These kids are alive because of you!” She gave a half smile as Jack kissed her on the cheek.
He looked around looking for Jennifer. There she was sitting alone; her face was dirty and was obviously starving, as she shoved food into her mouth.
“Jennifer, can you come with me for minute?” Jack called to her.
She had an innocent smile and walked with him, they went outside where Bray was waiting. She rushed to hug her dad.
“Sweetie, I need to go away for a while!” Bray told her, she stepped back angrily.
Jack crouched down beside her. “Hey!” he said as took her hand. “I need your dad to do something for me. It is very important and very secret. He is only one who can do it. I need him to leave and complete a mission for me!” She looked at him.
“Why him?” She asked.
“Because your dad is a hero, and right now I need a hero to complete this mission and save lives.”
Jennifer started to cry and nodded. She threw herself into her dad’s arms. Bray looked at Jack and mouthed the words ‘Thank you!’
Jack left them alone, he walked into what appeared to be Gabe’s room. He leaned on the table, suddenly he picked it up and threw it against the wall shattering it. Jacob walked in, “Did not like the table then?”
“We should have got here sooner!”
Jacob stayed silent. Banks walked in. “You wanted to see me Jack?”
“Yeah, you said needed a lab to continue you
r work.”
Banks nodded. “Yes, it’s important!”
“Fine, I will get you the equipment you need. But you also need to take care of everyone. I want everyone checked out first!” Jack told him.
“Of course,” Bank agreed.
Jack turned and walked out past him, and went back outside. There was a 4x4 parked in front of the gate. Everyone was starting to gather around it.
“What’s going on?” Sarah asked.
Bray walked over.
“Here, take this!” Jack told him.
“Jack, I can’t! You need the weapons and all the food you can.”
“You’re taking it, no argument. You go and get your head straight and then come home.” Jack replied.
“What Is going on?” Sarah asked again.
“I’m sending Bray on mission,” Jack replied.
Everyone gasped and whispered amongst themselves. “Are you kidding, his daughter is here!”
Jack looked around. “I need Bray to do this!”
Raven stepped forward. “Can’t you send someone else? I’ll go.”
Jack grew angry. “THIS IS NOT A DEBATE! BRAY IS STILL UNDER MY COMMAND!”
Everyone went quiet.
Bray climbed in the 4x4. Jack went to close the door when Bray grabbed his hand. “Jennifer, can you…” Jack stopped him from talking. “You don’t need to ask!”
Closing the door, Jack backed away as the gates opened and Bray drove away.
Jack walked back towards the group. “Everyone, get some rest!”
Adam stood with Raven and Sarah. “Is he OK?”
Raven shook her head. “No, he blames himself for what happened here.”

Back at the Oasis lab, Groves was being treated. His severed arm could not be reattached and he was bandaged up. He was laying in the recovery room when the door opened.
Kelly walked in. “Visitors!”
Behind her, Miss Evans walked in. “Well, I take it things did not work out?”
Groves glared at her.
Behind her walked in a broad, bald man.
“This is Captain Chambers.” Miss Evans introduced the man to Groves.
“He is the Captain of The Black Angels!”
Groves looked at him.
“Well, looks like you fucked up with Jack Mason!” Chambers says.
“Are you fucking kidding me, we’re using mercenaries?” Groves replied.
Miss Evans smiled. “Call them what you will, but they will get the job done!”
Chambers stepped towards Groves and pushed down on his bandaged shoulder. Groves winced in pain. “I’m in charge now! Jack is my problem; you just get ready to move out. We are leaving this base for good.”
As Chambers went to leave; Groves snarled at him. “You really think you can stop Jack?”
Chambers turned and looked at him. “Yeah, because I’m ‘The Butcher’!”
