Vampyre Blue (Alternative Women)
Page 2
Blue really appreciated all of her friends and loved them all so much, they had been so lucky to have had each other to cling onto over the years.
Eliza always wore bright colours, she must have been the exact polar opposite of Jayne. Also rich (a common trait in Blue's friends, despite they're very diverse beginnings) but more eccentric than anyone you would ever meet in your entire life! Eliza became an anthropologist, specialising in remote cultures and rare occult practises. She has more doctorates and qualifications than you could shake a stick at. She always threw herself into her research, practising the rituals first hand. A renowned medium throughout the world, she gave Tarot readings, read palms and held séances. If it was weird, wonderful, paranormal or strange, she was and is to this day, the woman in the know.
Cleo was considered the mother of the group, as she was the only one with children, the most down to earth and street wise amongst them. She was an undercover agent with some underground government agency, she was a clean cut, well informed individual. That was of course until she had children, then her world views had shifted dramatically. She was still the same woman, intelligent and highly informed, but now she thought about her children before anything else. Until mother hood, she was by the book, it was black or white, no grey. She wasn't annoying with her purity for the logical, she was together, it suited her.
They were truly an eclectic group of friends. They had had lives of their own making, their dream lives. But the lives that they had weaved were getting busy, complicated and had signs of stress. Something was about to give, they knew something was going to change considerably or fall apart all together, they just didn't know who or what was coming. They could just feel a sense of foreboding, impending doom on the horizon. They all felt this, but ignored it, if they ignored it, it would go away.
Blue was in a rather good mood, the other girls noticed as soon as she'd walked in the restaurant, with a happy step. As soon as the gossip had begun it had been directed toward Blue and her incredible good mood. She told them exactly what she'd been up to earlier that day. They were happy to see her happy.
Star then told them all in great detail about the completely brilliant weekend she’d had in Tokyo. One of her many lovers had jetted her across the world so he could spend time with her. He'd spoiled her rotten and emptied his bank account on a weekends worth of treats just for her. She loved to see their faces when she'd brag about her impossibly fabulous life.
Jayne briefly cheered up as she momentarily commented on a new possible fling, a new girl at uni was teasing her, she made dates then kept cancelling on her. Jayne never really ended one relationship before she had started her next one. She then moved on to tell them the really rather important news that she was going to Paris for three months over the summer to lecture and talk philosophy with fellow philosophers. She was more excited about the fling and rather indifferent about the trip to Paris. The girls were positively excited for her, Blue even suggested that they all go out during the summer to visit her in Paris. Jayne thought that was a good idea too and their excitement had elevated her indifference.
Eliza's latest news was that she'd secured funding for a new study she was researching in Egypt – Blue looked at her with difficulty, she didn't like the long words she used constantly, they left her with a headache. The prolonged words and Eliza's dead sister Amelia whispering in Blue's ear was enough for anyone. Blue didn't regret the séances, she was just pushed to the limits sometimes living with the consequences.
Cleo complained that her life was getting a little mental, she shouldn’t really tell anyone else anything about all this. But she'd been friends with these girls since Boarding School and she could trust them with her life, that was her undercover life. Which in effect was her real life, since getting pregnant with her target’s child and marrying him. Which according to her boss’s in the Agency was a sham. It was just real to the Catholic Church, the Italian Government, Valentino and her. She didn't know who to turn to. Of course she had known Valentino was high up in the Mafia but just recently there had been a power shift and he’d become the king pin of the whole operation in the UK. The real problem had cropped up when she was summoned to headquarters to receive a new mission objective. She had been ordered to terminate Valentino and both of their children, thus blowing the Mafia operation wide open. It was called operation Medea, her superiors were really sick bastards. She was absolutely appalled, it was completely unthinkable. She was contemplating what to do next, of course she wouldn't kill her children, or her husband. She knew who he was and what he was capable of, but he wasn't the man the Agency thought he was. She couldn't think of a way out, if she went against the termination order, she knew someone would be sent to terminate her, then her children and Valentino. The girls sat there in the restaurant, mouths slightly open, in abject horror. Silence overwhelming all five of the girls. They were speechless, unable to even suggest a solution.
Star got angry at Cleo and they started to bicker at one another. Blue interjected, Star's argument that this conversation should have probably happened somewhere else was noted and justified. But they were all friends and they couldn't fall out about this, especially when Cleo was in such pain. So Blue had settled the atmosphere before it turned sour. She even suggested that everyone move into Star's mansion, and treat it as a Spa break, with Yoga and meditation. Have time to think without the world buzzing past their windows, and discuss the life changing decisions they were all about to make. After all Star hardly used her own facilities and the staff were paid if she used it all or not. Star agreed and told them all they could stay there as long as they wanted, if they were there or not, it cost the same to run the place. They all agreed that it made sense and they could have each other around as well as enough space and luxury that it wouldn't drive them mad.
Blue thought that was far too much drama for one lunchtime. So Star dragged her out for retail therapy and she didn't argue this time. They both needed a whole new outfit for all of their big night out, celebrating Blue's twenty seventh birthday. Blue after all had a credit card screaming for her to max it out, she needed the entire ensemble, shoes, dress, bag and lingerie. Star had one place in mind, a boutique in a department store that you needed an appointment to get a look in. They stocked every designer worth a glance, the hottest new designers and their hottest new designs. Star had her own buyer there, an entire employee that only bought items for her. You truly know you have far too much money when you can afford to pay someone to be your stylist.
After three hours in the changing rooms, being pulled and tugged out of this and that. Star had decided Blue looked best in a fitted forties style dress with polka dots. She had the rest of the outfit too, seemed stockings, a bright red patent leather belt, patent leather red platform shoes and matching Vivienne Westwood bag. There was also red lingerie that defied gravity, jewellery worth thousands and make-up to complete the 'to die for' look.
Star wouldn’t let Blue see how much it cost, telling her that it was her birthday present from her, just to make up for the drama filled dinner. Blue gave her the biggest hug ever and told her she was grateful and that Star didn’t have to do that and she would totally pay for them herself. Star gave her the pirate smile she had in her arsenal, and then Blue knew she'd not have a chance of paying, even if she threw money at the sales assistants.
Star had Blue dropped off in her car, the driver took Blue's new things to her apartment. She said that Blue wasn't spoiled enough and gave her a hug, said she'd see her later. Blue tottered up to her building, the doorman had said there were no messages and that her guest hadn’t left yet. But when she got back into her apartment it was completely empty. The place was spotless, Pierre must have cleaned up, Blue was beginning to think he was perfect, but he'd also disappeared so her perfect man wasn't all that perfect.
Blue put her shopping on the bed and walked over to the wet room. She turned on the shower and let the water run for a while, letting it get hot and steamy. She shower
ed and washed again, in her own time with the memory of that morning fresh in her mind. She had done so much today, and she was surprised when she thought about it. An amazing morning with Pierre, a wonderful dinner with her best friends and then Star had spent an absolute fortune on her. 'I'm one lucky girl' she thought to herself. She had remembered the sense of foreboding in the restaurant, but she thought she'd not let that ruin her birthday and would start to worry about that another day. When she got out, she put on the Silk Kimono Robe that Star had bought her from Tokyo for her last birthday. Star had acquired it on one of her many loved up weekend trips around the world. The silk felt so luxurious, and always made Blue feel like a million dollars. She dried her hair, styled it and applied her new killer make-up. She took care not to ladder the rather expensive seemed stockings, before putting on her sexy lingerie, the lingerie looked so good on its own that she was almost tempted to go out in that alone. She put on her new dress, and fluffed up her mane of black and blue. She felt amazing and she actually did look stunning. She was radiant as if all the love she felt for Pierre was emanating from her very soul, lighting up her very essence. She hoped she would bump into him at some point in the evening, just to see him again, it made her heart flutter to think about him like that. She longed for a repeat performance of that morning, the ultimate morning of her life to date.
Blue met Cleo, Eliza, Jayne & Star in Naught, she thought to herself how strange yet funny (in a good way)it was that the bar was always in perpetual darkness. It was actually light when they went in there, by the time they left it was fast approaching sunset, the sun was glorious, a bright orange sphere over the horizon, their eyes had to get used to the light, after coming out of the dark bar. Naught was a good place to start though, everyone knew Blue. The staff made a fuss of her and they even had balloons and a cake for her. Blue thought they were brilliant and considered them all good friends, she was happy that they had spent some of their time with her on her birthday.
Star had arranged a Horse Drawn Carriage to take them to the “Manor House”, the absolute pinnacle of exclusive party locations. The Manor House was as lavish as Chatsworth and set on a similar amount of beautifully kept national country park. There were woods surrounding the estate. It was located at the edge of the city, so it was the perfect venue for outlandish parties that were just too big for the buildings in the city. Star had out done herself, again. But then that was why everyone who was anyone would beg, borrow or steal for her to plan one of their parties.
They got there as the sun was setting, the outside illuminations were lighting up the terrace areas. The heaters were keeping everyone comfortable on this Beltane Eve. The atmosphere was magical, fire performers were dancing with flames, faeries blowing bubbles around the guests, trapeze artists above the crowd performing death deifying stunts and aerial ballet, it was a surreal take on a Shakespearian mid summers night theme. All of Blue's friends were there, laughing, joking and having a good time. The escapism of it all had melted away their daily worries and they were enjoying themselves without consequence.
Blue was in popular demand with her male acquaintances and female ones for that matter. They all knew Blue was quite promiscuous and that she wasn’t really interested in settling down with any of them. They also knew she was financially comfortable, not rich by any means. But as an individual she wouldn’t be tamed easily and that was half the attraction to these guys, the challenge. They knew that whomever she settled down with would be one of the luckiest guys alive, well that's what Star kept telling Blue. Blue wasn't convinced. Blue didn't think she'd settle for anyone, but now she was smitten with Pierre.
She danced all night with everyone around, not just with one person, she danced salsa, tango, and let her hair down with freestyle wiggles. Everyone was having fun all around. Blue in the middle of it all with only one person on her mind. She looked for him with no luck at all in finding him. She was surrounded by all of her friends and yet she felt so depressingly lonely, as if she were stood there all by herself.
Blue walked over to one of the terrace walls, she had a cigarette as she stared out to the woods. Then she saw him in the distance, through the tree line. Her heart skipped a beat. She saw a flicker of his face, enough for her to be convinced that he was there. She saw him again, she scanned the trees and saw him again impossibly further around the tree line as though the trees weren't hindering his running at all. It was as if he was playing a game. But he looked different now, darker, more evil, and definitely more mysterious, if it were at all actually possible. Hook line and sinker, she wanted him, and needed him, so off she swanned.
She walked up the paths leading away from the house, through the gardens and towards the woods, the party was in full swing so she knew no-one would notice her gone, even if it was her party. The trees were denser than she had anticipated. She struggled to get through the trees, catching her expensive stockings on the twigs and branches, laddering and ripping them. She was so annoyed, she growled at her laddered legs. Blue glimpsed a figure a few hundred meters further into the woods. She thought it was Pierre and was spurred on again. She clambered on, fighting through the trees, slowly making her way towards where she'd seen him.
And then all of a sudden she felt two hands grasp hold of her shoulders, tightly, the strange fingers digging in, it hurt her, but she didn't even have time to scream, she was dragged backwards.
Then oblivion, nothing, she recalls patches of memory, but they lack any real sense or meaning, she remembers grabbing out to vegetation to try to hold on, scratching the hands on her shoulders, fighting against it, her screaming, muffled screaming, blood, she remembers being bitten, she remembers being Bitten to the very core of her, the beautiful evil, the piercing of her skin, sheer pain seething through her body, with all the sexual desire and longing that could ever exist in the world she remembers being bitten, it was the most intense, sexual, orgasmic feeling she has ever experienced.
The pivotal moment of her life. The moment Blue died.
Chapter Two.
In a large Mansion not so far away from Star's stack of bricks two old vamps were discussing with great gusto the recent events that concluded in the demise of the young lady Blue.
'Why the fuck did you bite her?' Snarled Pierre, he had never felt so utterly betrayed, and to feel this because of the actions of his best and only friend left in the world. He was furious. 'She was mine to bite, not yours! And she wasn't to be bitten! She was supposed to stay human, you know how precious that is! She could turn into a complete nightmare! How could you? Did you even think it through?' Pierre felt wounded, he felt like the rug had been pulled from under him. He was blissfully happy, he had had everything, he had the love of a beautiful woman and his best friend by his side. And in one foul swoop it was all gone. One simple bite.
Daen stared at Pierre. In over three hundred years he had not wanted to rip him apart as much as he did right now. In over three hundred years their friendship had not been tested to the point of destruction before. At this point in time they had not hated each other as much as they did right now.
'You know not of what you speak little one. There is much you do not know.'
Daen had chosen his words carefully, his voice was powerful and confident.
'How dare you speak to me like a child, you patronising ancient bastard!' Roared Pierre. Pierre was animated in his movements, moving very fast around the room as vampire's do. His hair down around his shoulders moved gently in the breeze of his movement, almost tranquilly, quite the opposite to the atmosphere betwixt the two vamps in the room. He was ready for a fight with Daen, ready, but he hoped it wouldn't come to that, he hoped that Daen would see sense.
The malice in Daen’s eyes grew.
'I have been watching her since the Oracle foretold of her birth. You know nothing of what is written. You are not worthy to know. You my little Pierre are just a mere vampire, you can’t even walk in the light. You are beneath her. Blue is, and is going to be so much more t
han even you can comprehend.'
Pierre was frustrated with his best friends ramblings, anything the Oracle said to him he believed without question. Pierre hated her, he always had done.
'I'm sure it's true that Blue is much more than I can comprehend, but she’s also much more than even you Daen can comprehend. You have been dragging my ass around with you for the last three hundred years. You’re on some personal quest to find a replacement for your beloved Isis and whatever that bitch the Oracle tells you, you believe! You don’t give a shit about Blue really, just what gap she fills in your life! It’s not fair on her and it’s not fair on me. You know how much she means to me, I think she’s the one. But because it doesn’t fit into your grand plan then its deemed inappropriate or forbidden by you and your precious fucking Oracle. I’m sick of this, sick of watching you bite the girls that you think are the reincarnation of Isis and then go ruin their lives. Blue isn’t a reincarnation of your old girlfriend. So just leave her alone.'
'Leave her alone, have you listened to yourself?' Daen's gaze was full of hate his eyes fixed on Pierre.
'You are beyond arrogance! Daen you are so jealous of what Blue and I have. You don’t understand us, you’re jealous that for once a girl has fallen for me. Not you. And that pisses you right off. Doesn't it? God Damn it Daen, three hundred years of companionship and friendship and the one moment I’m slightly happy you have to turn it around and make it about the prophecies. And then you go and fucking bite her! AND you do it whilst looking like me! I can’t believe you Daen, I’m beyond words.'
