Bidding for Keeps

“We’ll see each other every night,” he vows. “And when school’s out, we’ll make up for lost time.”
“I know. I’m just sad.”
He kisses me sweetly. “How can I cheer you up?”
I blink away my tears and admire his boyish grin. “I could think of a few ways,” I tell him. “But it’ll mean I’ll be late for class. It’s a good thing I have straight As. I can afford to miss a day.”
He laughs. “In that case, spread those pretty long legs and let me teach you something you can’t learn in any classroom.”
As he sits up on his knees, I part my legs. “What will you teach me, naughty professor?”
His signature smirk undoes me. A thrill shoots down my spine, a reaction to his cocky expression. “I’m going to teach you how to be a good girl.”
“Seems impossible,” I admit.
“Your mouth is the problem,” he agrees. “I should punish that sexy mouth.”
I arch a brow. “Punish it how?”
He leans forward and his cock bounces against me. His thumb brushes along my bottom lip. “I could slap it with my dick. A little spanking for your mouth.”
I bite his thumb until he growls. Then, I release him and start laughing. With no warning, he positions his cock at my entrance and drives forcefully into me. I scream in surprise and my laughter dies away. His blue eyes are dark with lust but also swirl with love.
“Maybe I should just duct tape that mouth and call it a day.”
Before I can call him a brat, he’s thundering into me so hard I forget my own name. His mouth punishes mine, certainly, but with a kiss. And with teeth. He doesn’t relent until I’m seeing stars and dizzy with pleasure. As soon as his come spurts into me, I let out a groan of happiness. He settles against me and rains down worshipping kisses all over my face. His cock grows soft and his semen runs out of me, soaking the bed below. I never want to leave this room.
“Dallas?”
He rubs his nose along mine. “Hmm?”
“Thank you for coming back for me.”
He kisses the corner of my mouth. “In my eyes, you were never gone, baby. Just simply out of reach. Now that I have you in my arms, I’m never letting you go.” He lifts up and grins at me. “I may have been bidding to keep your non-existent virginity for myself, but...”
“But what?”
“But my heart was bidding for keeps.”
“Did you win?”
He smiles as he pulls out of me. His newly tattoo-covered chest muscles flex and I’m thirsty to lick every groove of him. I want to appreciate his new ink but he’s already moving on to bigger and better things. “I won your smiles. Did I win your heart?”
“You won all of me the moment I laid eyes on you.”
Epilogue
Dallas
Six months later...
“Are you taking me into the woods to kill me?” Vivi asks, amusement in her voice.
I squeeze her hand and shoot her a wicked grin. “Maybe.”
Unfazed, she smiles happily. Smiles, the rescue dog she just couldn’t part with, sleeps on her lap. My life feels complete. Finally. When I sent Vivi back to school after our long, romantic weekend of reconnecting, we had a hard time staying apart. Since I can work from anywhere, I’d find her between or after classes and kidnap her. We spent more time in the Holiday Inn down the street than either of us did in our own beds. The moment she graduated, I kidnapped her for good. We spent every moment since traveling to every nook and cranny of the United States within driving distance. Spending long hours on the road has allowed us the time to catch up.
“Talked to Leah today,” she says. “She’s pregnant.”
Nolan already texted me but I don’t tell her that. My old best friend and I were able to reconnect as well. He apologized for driving me away from Vivi. It’s water under the bridge. All that matters is that I have her now.
“I’m happy for them.” I give her hand another squeeze.
“Do you think we’ll have kids one day?”
I lean over and kiss the top of her head. “If that’s what you want, that’s what I’ll give you.”
“I want,” she says, her voice soft and vulnerable. “One day. But for now, I’m enjoying traveling with you.”
“Then I’ll drive you all over the place until you’re ready for me to put a baby in you,” I tease.
She laughs but it dies in her throat when we pull into a clearing. “Wow, look how pretty.”
I drive over to an old barn that looks as though it could topple over with the next wind that blows through. It’s rustic but really fucking cool. Once I’m parked, we get out and Smiles runs through the field sniffing around. Vivi leans against the side of the truck and her eyes are lifted to the starry night sky. Her long, black hair has been pulled into a sleek ponytail and she looks so goddamned pretty in her floral dress and cowgirl boots.
“Any requests?” I ask as I search songs with my phone.
“How about some Hank Williams Jr.?” The smirk she sends my way is hot as fuck. This woman is going to be the death of me.
I turn on “Country State of Mind” and set my phone on the top of the truck. When I offer her my hand, she sashays my way, her dress swishing back and forth. I clasp her hand with mine and pull her to me. We slow dance to the old song that holds meaning for us. She rests her cheek to my chest and I kiss the top of her head.
We savor the moment until the song ends. I pull away and hold on to both her hands.
“Vivi, I love you.”
Her smile is wide and real and fucking beautiful. “I love you too, Dallas.”
“I should have done this four years ago on this same night under the stars. That was supposed to be our beginning. I fucked it up then, but I’ll be damned if I fuck it up now,” I say, my voice hoarse. Kneeling on one knee, I look up at her. Her bottom lip trembles as I continue. “My sweet girl, will you marry me? I know I don’t deserve you, not after the hell I put you through, but I swear to God I’ll spend the rest of my life making it up to you.”
I release her hand to pull the ring from my pocket. It’s perfect and sparkly as hell. Just like her.
“Yes,” she murmurs. “That will always be my answer.”
Quickly, I slide the ring on her finger and then rise to my feet. She lets out a squeal when I grab her ass and haul her to me. My lips crash to hers and I kiss the hell out of her. When I lift her ass, she wraps her legs around my waist. I walk her over to the side of the truck and pin her against it as I kiss her. She moans the moment my hard cock grinds against her through our clothes.
“Dallas,” she says, her body trembling with need. “I need you right here. Right now.”
“Gladly, baby.”
Reaching between us, I yank at her dress to move it out of the way and then pull her panties to the side. She jolts in my arms when my fingers brush against her clit. I chuckle and tease her there until she’s whimpering. She works at my jeans and greedily pulls my cock from my boxers. We’re both frantic to fuck. I rub at her faster and harder until she’s screaming my name in ecstasy. Before she has a chance to come down, I grip my cock and push into her.
“Oh God!”
I sink deep inside her and let out a groan of pleasure. “I guess this means you’re mine now,” I tell her, my lips whispering over hers.
She smiles like the fucking sun. “I always was.”
