Lost & Broken (LIttlemoon Investigations Book 2)

The woman finally spoke, “We can be an asset.”
Tori would rather eat a live rattlesnake, especially after seeing their ‘Rambo-esque’ website. It was blatantly apparent that neither of the Snyders had military experience. They were posers, and that pissed her off. Camouflage wasn’t cool. It was a necessity for those who wore targets on their backs.
“No thank you,” he stated again. “But, I’ll keep my eyes open for you. If we hear anything, Stephen, we’ll point you in the right direction.”
“We’d appreciate that,” he said, offering Julian a handshake.
Julian didn't want hostility. At least now, they knew that the Snyders weren’t going to be a problem, or so he hoped. The last thing he needed was a war with the ambulance chasers. Julian could tell by the look on his wife’s face that he needed to get her out of there ASAP.
“We’ll see you around,” he said.
She handed Katy Snyder the magazine and nodded at her. For now, she wanted to get away from the two. They irritated her to no end.
Out in the hall, Julian ran his hand lovingly over his wife’s ass. “That was incredibly sexy,” he murmured. “I love watching you get all feisty with other people.”
Tori nuzzled his cheek. “Wait until later, Mr. Littlemoon,” she purred in his ear.
“Are you going to be okay?” he added, as they made their way down the hall.
“Yeah, I just hate assholes,” she stated.
Julian laughed.
Didn't they all?

Kane and Christina mingled with the other couples, trying to keep their ears open. The entire time, they were concerned for their bosses, and if they were safe. They had been gone quite a while.
As they watched the ballroom doorway, they were both relieved when Julian and Tori returned from their side mission. Kane didn't miss the look sent by Julian. They had successfully managed to accomplish their goal.
“Want to dance, Chrissy?” he asked, holding out his hand. The slow music of the orchestra was making him want to hold his girl.
“Okay,” she answered.
When they arrived on the floor, Christina placed her head in the center of Kane’s chest and just closed her eyes. As soon as he began swaying, she nearly drifted off to sleep.
Kane was enjoying her body going lax against his, and then he could tell the subtle difference between relaxed and slipping into sleep.
Yeah, his woman was exhausted and needed to rest soon.
“Chrissy sweetheart, you’re asleep on your feet,” he said, touching her cheek. “How about I take you upstairs and tuck you, and my little Redwolf, into bed?”
God, that sounded like heaven.
“I would really like it if we could cuddle together,” she said, placing his big hand over her stomach. “It would be wonderful.”
The simple action made his heart swell with love. The tiny woman made him want to weep open tears of happiness, right then and there.
Kane subtly motioned to Julian, and then pointed upstairs. When his boss nodded and didn't stop dancing with his wife, the message was clear. He didn't have to interrupt his bosses from their moment together.
“Let’s go, Chrissy,” he said, leading her toward the door.
“Yes, Kane,” she said, so grateful that the man she loved was understanding. “I’ll follow you anywhere,” she offered.
Since she had already proved that by leaving the FBI, Kane was eternally grateful.
Julian held his wife in his arms. The feel of her body against his was driving him incredibly wild. Nothing in life had ever offered him this kind of peace, and he never wanted it to end. Julian knew that he would do anything in life just to have her be his forever.
Tori wrapped her arms around his neck and stared into his gold speckled eyes. One of the best things about her husband was that they were relatively the same size. With heels on, they were eye to eye and lip to lip. It was a pretty spectacular thing.
“You smell really good, Jules,” she whispered, tugging on his bottom lip with her teeth. Tori knew exactly how to fire him up, and that, with the combination of rubbing her body back and forth across his was bound to work.
Julian’s entire being throbbed at his wife’s touch. While he knew he should behave in a room full of people, all that he really wanted was to taste his wife.
“I want to kiss you so bad,” he murmured, dying to sink into the warmth and silky familiarity that was his wife. If he could just do that, he would be fine until they could get upstairs.
“Then kiss me,” she purred, running the tip of her tongue over his lower lip. When he sucked in a breath, she knew that her husband was on the verge of losing total control.
Nothing made her happier.
Julian was never one to deny his wife anything she wanted. Why would he? A happy wife was a very happy, sex filled, erotic life. If Tori wanted to be kissed, well then he was going to give her exactly that.
Slipping his hand into the back of her lose red hair, he urged her mouth closer to his. The second their lips touched, there was an explosion of heat around them.
Julian lost all sense of where he was and what he was supposed to be doing. All that mattered in that moment was that Tori was in his arms. The taste, the smell, and the feel were so familiar, that his body was immediately on autopilot. All he could do was go along for the ride, sinking into the freefall.
Tori couldn’t breathe.
Her mind was foggy and her body was telling her to do really impulsive things to the man who was holding her in his arms. Yeah, she wanted to make him beg and plead as she found so much pleasure in his body. Fighting the urge to fall deeper into the moment, she slowly pulled away. It was hard not to be incredibly turned on, as the man she loved was staring at her with so much need in his eyes.
“Please tell me that you stopped so that we can go back to our room,” he said softly.
“Take me to bed, Julian,” she replied, running her hands down his chest.
Again, who was he to argue?
It was time.
Taking Tori by the hand, Julian led her away from the crowd and noisy party. He didn't care who watched them leave, or if they knowingly stared after them, assuming what they were escaping to do.
All that mattered was getting his wife in bed, beneath him, and naked.
Racing up the stairs, he practically dragged her down the hall even as she tried to keep up in the heels. At the door, he used the key and pulled them inside. Julian didn't even turn on the lights. There was enough glow flooding the room through the balcony window from the moon.
Something about a very naked, starlight drenched Tori appealed to something in him. Locking the door behind him, he once more began kissing her. This moment reminded him of when he rented a hotel room, just to have his way with her. Since that day, they’d often visited other hotels in some sexy fantasy romp.
It had become their little thing.
Thinking back to all of the impromptu rendezvous, she looked just as lovely as she did now. Each one touched his heart and was burned into his memory.
He was thankful that she was all his.
Immediately, Tori’s hands began wandering. She had the tie and the buttons to his shirt undone rather quickly. The little voice in the back of her head kept screaming for her to get him naked and fast.
There was this desperation.
Julian felt the heat flush up and down his body, radiating from deep within his gut. As her hands wandered, his did very much the same thing. With a single slide of his hand, the zipper to the back of her dress was open and Tori was free.
Releasing her, he stepped back to watch the dress slip to the floor. Yeah, there was a reason that lacy underthings and heels were made. Some women wanted to torture men unmercifully, and his wife was no different.
As Tori stood there, in the black lace and heels, Julian’s head spun. It was like being at a buffet and not knowing what to dive into first. He had one weakness, and it was the sexy little
things his wife would bring out to tease him.
God, he was so hungry.
Where his fingers wanted to stroke deliciously silky skin, his mouth wanted to nibble across her throat.
Tori loved watching her husband as he took in her entire body. There was something so completely erotic about having a man stare and lust after his wife like that.
It made her insane.
Walking toward him, she paused only to push his shirt from his shoulders. It gave her a better view of the prize beneath. Tori admired his body, just as he had done hers. Circling, Tori ran her fingers over his lean torso and muscled flesh. It rippled in anticipation at her touch, and what was ultimately to come.
When he stared at her, the urgency was there.
“What do you want, Julian?” she asked, pausing in front of him.
“You, Victoria. I will always only want you,” he replied.
At that second, she took matters into her own hands. Dropping to her knees, she stared up into his eyes. “I want you too, Julian.”
With an effortless flick of her wrist, the button to his pants was undone. With no urgency, she ran her fingertips across the bulge in his boxers. When he throbbed beneath her touch, she knew it was going to be one hell of a ride. Pulling him free, her mouth eagerly began worshipping her husband.
He gasped when cooler flesh was met with hot mouth. Yes, he had experienced this before, but each time it caught him off guard.
As Tori worked him into a frenzy, Julian had no choice but to close his eyes and pray he could hold out. His entire body was singing in need, and it stemmed from more than just his wife on her knees before him.
It was the sheriff dancing with her.
It was men staring at her.
It was Tori kicking the hell out of Stephen Snyder, all while in an evening gown. What man wouldn’t love to see that? She never even messed her hair.
It was all very erotic and very Tori.
When he began to shake, Tori knew that they needed to head to the bed. She was getting worked up just feeling him, let alone watching the pleasure flash across his face. The man who was often considered silent and stony was never that with her. Julian was an endless fount of emotion, feelings, and need.
Releasing him, she got to her feet. “Bed, Julian?” she asked, knowing that he wasn’t going to say no.
“Yesssss,” he hissed, his body disliking the absence of her touch. Without her hands and mouth on him, he felt bereft and cold. Tori was the only way he would ever feel warmth.
As she prepared to take off her heels, he stopped her. “Leave them. They remind me of a hotel and another time,” he whispered, hoping she too would recall any of their sexy rendezvous.
Tori ran her tongue over her lips in anticipation. Immediately, her mind flashed back to that first night, since it was one of her fondest memories. It was the night she fell in love with the man before her. A part of her was in love with him in the swamp, but that night, he stole her heart with his kindness, love, and sweetness.
She backed him toward the bed, her mouth meeting his once more. When he couldn’t move further, she gave him a gentle shove, only to watch him tumble. There was something so purely masculine and sexy about his grin. It made her want to lose her mind and be incredibly wild.
As Julian moved across the mattress, to rest against the headboard, Tori stripped out of her lacy undergarments. She let her hands move slowly, enticing his eyes to follow their path. When Julian looked feverish, she climbed up onto the bed. Crawling toward him, Tori’s gaze must have given away what she was feeling inside, because the vein in Julian’s neck began throbbing as he watched her.
“I feel like I’m going to combust,” she admitted.
He could only hope so. After all, he was feeling pretty much the same thing. When she straddled his body, his blood pressure nearly caused him to have a stroke. Immediately, his fingers ran down her lean torso, admiring the flat plane of her belly and curve of her hip. “You are the most beautiful woman in the world, Victoria,” he admitted.
Tori touched his cheek. “You’re the sexiest man I’ve ever laid eyes on in my life.”
As she was perched precariously above him, he craved for Tori to drive her body down onto his, joining them together. If he couldn’t feel her wrapped around him, he was going to go mad. “Please,” he whispered, waiting for that amazing moment when they became one.
She couldn’t wait any longer. In one slow glide, she buried him to the hilt and listened to the guttural moan escape his chest.
It was the call of her mate.
“Oh Christ,” he muttered, as she sheathed him completely. It was slow and torturous. “Victoria,” he pleaded, only to have his wish granted. His wife began the ride, giving him as much pleasure as she was taking. With each slip from her body, he could feel the cool breeze of the air through the balcony doors and the brush of her fingers on his chest.
If anything, it was maddening.
When Tori moaned, Julian pulled her mouth to his, to seal them together. As his wife rode him, he wallowed in the pleasure. When the bouncing became wilder, he released her lips to watch his wife give them both what they wanted, needed, and craved.
When she tipped her hips, changing the angle, Julian nearly lost it.
“I’m so close, Tori,” he admitted.
Tonight, his control was badly frayed, and he wouldn’t be making any records. All he wanted was release. He craved it like a starving man longed for food.
She could barely hear him. There was this tribal beat pounding in her ears, and she knew it was the combination of both of their hearts.
The room shifted.
The colors changed.
There was a collective gasp right before they tumbled into the bliss.
Julian moaned as his body shook beneath hers on the precipice of release.
“Now, Jules!” she pleaded, as everything in her ruptured apart, throwing her into the incredible sensation. Tori wasn’t sure if he followed, because awareness and perception was skewed. All Tori could feel was the room shifting as she fell.
Julian was just about there, but he wanted to stare down into her face. Rolling, he changed their positions to admire the woman beneath him. Her hair was fanned out around her head in a soft cloud of silk, and her eyes were barely open. As her body continued to draw on his, he drove into her one last time, and joined his wife.
“Tori,” he hissed, pouring hotly into the love of his life.
Her hands slid across his flesh as she surfaced from the amazing pleasure. While drawing lazy circles on his skin, Tori breathed in the scent of his cologne.
If a million years were to pass, she’d still crave it.
Lying across her body, he buried his face in her throat. “God, I love you,” he murmured.
Tori’s only reply was a snicker.
Julian didn't know how long they remained like that, but eventually, he lifted his head to make sure he wasn’t crushing her. Her slow and easy breathing told the tale.
Slipping from her body, he reached back to pull the blankets up over them both, and then he placed his head on her chest, just to hear her heartbeat.
It offered him peace.
“It beats for you, Julian,” she whispered, as if she knew what he was thinking.
“As does mine, honey,” he reassured.
It was absolute truth.
There was no way he could go on living without her, and it offered him peace that she felt the same way.
Finding your soul mate was an amazing thing.
There was no Julian without Tori.
He was complete.
Chapter Sixteen
Sunday Morning
Kane headed down to the dining room to grab some coffee. It had been a really long night, and he was worried out of his mind. Christina had been sick most of the evening, and Kane didn't know what to do for her.
If he was going to be honest, he would have to admit that he was scared shitless. Had Kane known that Christina
getting pregnant would be this scary, he probably wouldn’t have had sex.
Okay, that was being a little dramatic.
Even he had to admit that.
By picking up coffee for Tori and Julian, he was hoping that he could bribe them into helping him. Right now, he was at a loss. He couldn’t ask his mom about morning sickness, since he and Christina decided to tell them all at once. So, he was at the mercy of the internet and his friends. Since the things online only freaked him out more, he needed to go with people he trusted.
Grabbing the coffee, he headed up to their room and hoped that they could talk him down off the ledge. At this point, he was desperate for any type of guidance, even if it was from people who didn't have kids.
Surely, Julian had been around pregnant women before. He had a sister who popped out six babies, and a sister-in-law who was in close second.
Now, he prayed for some direction.

Tori sat on the bed in a pair of shorts and Julian’s t-shirt. She had absconded it from him that morning when he came out from shaving. It smelled like his cologne, and she was in wife heaven. On her lap sat Joseph Hesser’s journal. Tori was pouring through the details, hoping to find some information. So far, most of the bitching in the book had been about his marriage to Cherie.
Apparently, he wasn’t happy and neither was she.
It seemed to be different times back then, where you couldn’t get a divorce if you were miserable. Then, toss in a family fortune, and it appeared to get more chaotic.
Julian raced toward the bed and leapt onto it, upending Tori, the book, and some paper she was using to make notes. “Did you find anything?” he asked, grinning wickedly.
“Just that he was sorry he got married.”
Tori had a great dislike for people who cheated or ran from obligation. When she was a little girl, her mother had decided that she couldn’t do it and had made a mistake. The woman walked away from Tori and her brother without looking back.
