  I took her by the shoulders and pulled her close, gazing deep into her eyes. “I’m not alone anymore,” I said. Then I kissed her, and she kissed me back.

  At this point, one might be inclined to say something like, “And we lived happily ever after...” Truth is, there was a lot more to come. There were good times and bad. There were many adventures and mysteries, and as always, many changes in our lives. But those are other stories, best saved for another day... So, yeah. We lived happily ever after...
