Everyone cheers their acceptance of the new arrangement. They’re all excited to be getting away. We’re the only club that’s shutting down our business. It’s not ideal, but I don’t want to leave anyone behind. The other clubs do what they want and I can’t dictate they have to shut down business in order to show up.

The girls lay out dinner and we stay at the clubhouse to eat before making our way back to the house. We’ll be leaving in less than two days and I know Shy is gonna have a lot to do in that time. We all do. I’ll help her as much as I can, but I have business to take care of at the same time.

  Chapter Twenty-Seven

  Shy

TODAY’S THE DAY everyone else will be showing up at the land Slim bought. I have to say, even though there’s nothing on the property, it’s beautiful here. The space is wide open and peaceful. He’s shown me the preliminary plans for building, and I’ve given him some suggestions to add to it.

We got all the RVs in place yesterday and today I’ll be making sure everyone knows where to get the tents set up. Slim and the rest of the guys here already will be gathering wood and other things to make sure we can have bonfires and the kids have sticks to roast marshmallows and stuff.

I’m surprised Slim is even letting me do that. Every second he wants me sitting down and resting to make sure nothing happens to the baby. That’s the main thing we fight about. I’m pregnant, not made of glass, and sick as hell. Although the morning sickness isn’t all that great.

Other than getting sick, I feel great and I’m not going to let Slim make me sit down constantly or not do the things I’d normally be doing. Especially when it comes to caring for Kinsliegh. We have to take care of her and lots of women take care of their children when they’re pregnant again.

“Shy, where do you want the food to go?” Jennifer asks, walking up to me with Sami.

“It can be set out on one of the picnic tables. The guys should be back soon and everyone else should be getting here shortly,” I tell them.

The girls get the food set out just as the guys walk back from gathering wood and placing it around the land for tonight. With more guys coming in, they’ll be able to collect more as needed. Knowing there’s nothing else I can do until everyone else gets here, I sit down after making a plate for myself.

Kinsliegh’s still taking a nap and I’m going to relish the silence and take some time for me. Once she’s up, I’ll be catering to her needs and I don’t have a problem doing that. For now, it’s nice to sit and relax without having to jump around.

“How are you doin’, Shy girl?” Slim asks, walking up behind me and placing a kiss on my neck.

“I’m doing good. Kinsliegh’s still sleeping so I’m resting for a bit,” I answer.

  “Need anythin’?”

“No. I got my food and drink. I’m just waiting for everyone else to get here.”

“We’ll take care of it,” he says.

“Slim, we’ve been over this. I’m fine and I’ll be fine to walk around a bit. Don’t you think I’m going to sit on my ass the entire time we’re here,” I tell him, putting my fork down and turning to look at him.

“I know. I just want to make sure you’re okay since we’re so far from the doctor.”

Slim places another kiss on my neck before wandering over to Playboy. I’m sure he’s about to make sure I don’t have to walk around too much when the rest of the clubs get here. Too bad! I’ll be helping out any way I can and that’s my final thought on the matter.

I’ve been sitting here with Sami, Kim, and Gwen while the rest of the men and women finish getting everything set up. Butcher, Renegade, and Grim’s clubs have shown up. We’re just waiting on Gage’s club to get here. They’re on their way, but haven’t shown up yet. I’d be worried, but I know they have a drive ahead of them and they left a little later than they wanted to. That’s the thing with clubs, things crop up at the last second and they have to be taken care of.

For now, the clubs are so busy getting things set up that we’ve all kind of been kept separate. I haven’t had a chance to talk to the women from the other clubs other than to say ‘hello’ when they first arrived. That will change tonight though. We plan on keeping ourselves entertained while the guys compare dick sizes and try to show off in front of everyone. It’s bound to happen with this many men in one area and land that’s bare.

“Bitches, the party is here!” Hadliegh announces as she walks over and plops her ass down in the chair next to me.

I haven’t had a lot of interaction with her, but this time away will change that I’m sure. “Hadliegh, do you know the girls?” I ask amid my laughter.

  “No.”

“Sami, Kim, Gwen, this is Hadliegh. She’s with Psycho from Satan’s Anarchy,” I say, making the introductions.

“Um, it’s Sam,” Sami says, looking around at us. “I’ve been meaning to say something, but I can’t stand being called Sami.”

Gwen, Kim, and I sit there in stunned silence as we take in the news Sam just dropped on us. Hadliegh looks around at all of us as more women make their way over to us. I cover my astonishment as I look around our growing group. Seeing my chance, I decide to diffuse the situation.

“Smokey, how are you?” I ask, seeing the man in question walking by us.

“I’m good, Shy. How are you?”

“Doing okay. So, are you expecting to see any more shows while we’re out here?” I ask, looking between Hadliegh and Smokey.

“Well, if you want to give one, I’ll certainly be there to watch. Though, I think Slim might kill me,” he answers on a laugh before continuing on his way.

The girls all look at me before turning their attention to Hadliegh. Yeah, I’m sure we’ve all heard the story about Smokey watching Psycho and Hadliegh have sex. Hadliegh starts laughing her ass off while the rest of us join in. It’s nice to relax and laugh for a while. Even with Kinsliegh in my lap and resting her head on my shoulder. It’s been a long day for her.

We spend the rest of the night talking and laughing while the guys make sure the fires stay going and that we don’t need anything. Everyone seems to be relaxed and not like they’re carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders. Even Slim seems to be relaxing and enjoying time spent with men he doesn’t get to see on a regular basis. Especially Butcher and his club.

“How’s the pregnancy going?” Bailey asks me after we’ve put the kids to bed.

“It’s okay. The morning sickness isn’t my favorite part, but other than that, I feel good.”

“How’s Slim with it?” Skylar asks.

“Overbearing and doesn’t want me to do anything. You know how it is.”

All the women who have had kids nod their heads in agreement. They’ve all been where I’m at right now and can sympathize with me. Especially Skylar, who has three sets of twins.

“Dad is just worried. You know he loves you and doesn’t want to see anything happen to you,” Maddie says.

“I know. He just needs to realize I’m not going to break. I’m pregnant and I’ll be fine just like every other pregnant woman throughout history.”

“He’ll calm down if you talk to him,” she says.

“No. We’ve had many talks about this and he just doesn’t understand where I’m coming from. It’s especially a battle when it comes to taking care of Kinsliegh. Poor Gwen is with me whenever he’s not so I’m not alone. And that means Killer’s on babysitting duty because they don’t trust anyone else,” I tell them.

“Killer has to be loving that,” Darcy says, laughing at the image of Killer playing babysitter to Gwen, Kinsliegh, and me.

I manage to sit with the women for about another hour before I start yawning and know that I need to go to bed. Kinsliegh will be up early and I need to rest. Slim will be on my ass soon and I don’t want him to get all overbearing in front of everyone. I know I won’t be able to hold my tongue and the last thing he needs is me going off on him in front of everyone here.

  “Well,
ladies, I’m going to head to bed. I’ll see you all in the morning,” I say, standing as I see Slim walking over to me.

“Night, Shy,” everyone calls out as I make my way to the man that makes my heart beat faster.

We walk into our camper and make sure everything is locked up before sliding into bed. I’m asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.

  The End . . . for now.

  About the Author

Growing up, I was constantly reading anything I could get my hands on. Even if that meant I was reading my grandma’s books that weren’t so age appropriate. I started out reading Judy Blume, then graduated to romance, mainly historical romance, and last year I found an amazing group of Indie authors that wrote MC books. Instantly I fell in love with these books.

For a long time, I’ve wanted to write. I just never had the courage to go through with actually doing it. During a book release party, I mentioned that I wanted to write and I received encouragement from an amazing author. So, I took a leap and wrote my first book. Even though this amazing journey is just starting for me, I wouldn’t have even started if it weren’t for a wonderful group of authors and others that I’ve met along the way.

I am a mother of three children. Only one girl in the bunch! My family and friends mean the world to me and I’d be lost without them. Including new friends that I’ve met along the way. I’ve lived in New York my whole life, either in Upstate or the Southern Tier. I love it during the summer, spring, and fall. But, not so much during the winter. I hate driving in snow with a passion!

When I’m not hanging out with my family/friends, reading, or writing, you can find me listening to music. I love almost all music! Or, I’m watching a NASCAR race.

I look forward to meeting new friends, even if I’m extremely shy!
