‘Well we should be there in another hour I think’ Terry said as he drove his car through the mountains of Scotland.

‘Wish I could have helped out with the driving, if it wasn’t for this’ Chand tapped the plaster on his arm.

‘No worries Chand anyway I like driving’ Terry said.

‘I wonder what Ray is doing. I bet he thinks we are all mad’ Chand chuckled.

  Epilogue

They stood at foot of the pyramid its golden sides gleaming in the early morning sunshine. Aiden looked around at the small group gathered about him and then started up the steps of the pyramid the rest following behind. The room at the top of the stairs was the same as it had been when they had last seen it. Aiden walked over to the far wall looking once more at the star map that was depicted there and the strange numbers that bordered it.

‘There’ Gagan pointed to a spot in the middle of the numbers where there was a round hollow.

‘And here‘Aiden said finding another recess on the opposite side only this one was star shaped.

‘And here’ said Aya pointing to an ankh shaped recess in the middle of the bottom row of number.

The three of them looked at each other then as one they inserted their keys into the recesses each one hearing a small click as the keys locked in place. This done they moved back to where the rest of the group were standing. A moment later a small tremor went through the pyramid and then it felt as if an engine of some kind had started deep within the heart of the building making the whole structure gently vibrate. A short time after this there was the sound of gears turning and the far wall that contained the star map slowly lowered down into the floor revealing a short passage beyond. At the end of the passageway was a large shimmering disk of what looked to be liquid metal. Cautiously Aiden moved towards the strange disk and saw that it gave off no reflections despite its silvery hue.

‘What is it?’ Aiden wondered out loud.

‘That is the gateway’ Gagan answered, ‘on the other side of that is Eden.’

Aiden nodded and went back to where the others were still standing.

‘Well we are nearly there’ Bridget said with some trepidation.

Aiden looked at Aya without saying a word.

‘What’s going on?’ Faith demanded noticing Aiden’s look. ‘What are you both up to?’

‘We won’t be coming with you Faith’ Aiden admitted.

‘What do you mean!’ Faith exploded.

‘We have to remain behind to guard the gateway’ Aiden replied.

  ‘We?’ Bridget now exclaimed.

‘Aya, Gagan and myself we are now the guardians of the keys, our place is here’ Aiden said looking at Aya and Gagan who both nodded their heads in agreement.

‘We too will stay here our duty is to stand by the key holders and the Etlud Shahadaku’ Long bowed as did Hoshi and Li.

‘I cannot leave my poor Demi here all alone’ Oleska said beginning to cry and Ela quickly comforted her. ‘Ela and myself we wish to stay here as well’ Oleska finished.

‘And I will remain behind as well’ Seth said.

‘But what about us you can’t just abandon us like this’ Faith said tears welling in her eyes.

‘You won’t be alone Faith there will be the others who are already in the valley and there will be more after that. Even as we speak Hanif and Rafferty are bringing more people here.’ Aya said gently.

‘But who will lead us when we are there’ Faith said tears now running down her face.

‘You will be their leader Faith, all of you’ Aiden said looking at the two families. ‘This place was found for you because the Neteru knew that all that has happened was their fault. They know, we know’ Aiden said correcting himself, ‘that we should not have come here to Earth instead we should have stayed on Nibiru and tried to change things there not run from our problems. So this place’ Aiden pointed at the gate way, ‘this Eden is to allow you a fresh start to grow as you were meant to grow without any interference from us.’

Despite the protests the two families finally had no option but to accept their friend's decision. Some weeks later with everyone prepared it was Faith who first entered the silvery disc with Aaron carrying Caleb in his arms close behind. After them came Onan and Zafer with both their families who bid a tearful goodbye to Aiden and Aya before they too passed through the gateway. Behind them followed the the others. Finally all that were left were the three key holders and their companions. Each key holder removed their key and the gateway was sealed. They then left the pyramid with heavy hearts already missing the others.

'Well it is not such a bad place!' Aiden declared stopping halfway down the stairs of the golden pyramid.

Everyone looked out over the beautiful valley bathed in the afternoon sunlight.

'I cannot think of a better place to spend my days!' Chameine agreed.

'Or better people to be with!' Gagan smiled.

Aaron put his good arm around Faiths shoulders who in turn hugged their son Caleb close. They stood silently on a grassy knoll and looked down at the white sandy beach that lay before them which in turn led to a sparkling blue ocean that stretched to the horizon. A gentle cooling breeze caressed their faces while above a warm sun shone down. Looking up at the clear blue sky they could see two moons even though it was still daylight. Beside them stood Bridget, Elden and their daughter Skyla and behind them Zafer, Onan and the rest of the people who had made it to the secret valley. All now were standing in silence looking at the scene in front of them.

'It is so beautiful!' Faith declared.

‘Mummy’ Little Skyla said a short while later pointing to the smaller more distant moon, ‘there is something bad on there!’
