Touch of Heaven

For several moments he sat in his study, indulging in his man cave, surrounded by his favorite books. He was a self-made billionaire and knew how to get what he wanted. The fact that his sandy brown hair swooped gracefully across his head and framed his deep green eyes helped. But he knew that his money alone could attract almost any woman he wanted. Reluctantly he pushed himself out of his chair and headed for the master suite. It was time to have a shower and get himself ready for his meeting.
Forty-five minutes later when the doorbell rang, Peter rushed to open it. Standing there was a massive, mountain of a man, busy joking with Edward. For a long moment, Peter felt a surge of annoyance; Edward seemed happier messing around with Simon than he did with his own dad. Biting his tongue, he reminded himself that this had all been a necessary sacrifice to achieve the success he now enjoyed.
“Hi Daddy!” Edward screamed as he realized Peter was there. He ran through the door and into Peter’s arms. Instinctively he lifted him up to hug him as he spun round the room. Suddenly everything was right in the world. “Thanks Simon,” Peter acknowledged his friend, “You coming to the meeting with me?” Simon nodded as he replied, “If that’s okay with you.” Peter laughed, “Of course,” he said, beckoning his friend into the house. Edward’s face had transformed as they spoke; he looked crestfallen. “Are you out tonight?” Peter nodded slowly; “I’m sorry mate,” he said softly. “But I have a little business to take care of.”

Peter stirred, his eyes rolled in his head as he licked his lips; his mouth was as dry as a bone! Slowly he reached out an arm. His head was still spinning, but quickly stopped as his arm connected with flesh. Slowly, almost reluctantly, he turned to see who was laid next to him. Blonde hair cascaded across the pillow as he struggled to remember the events of the night before. Before he could react any further the blonde haired girl grunted again. Lifting one hand to flick the hair away from her eyes, Peter found himself looking straight into her chocolate brown eyes. For a long moment he couldn’t think of anything to say. He realized he might actually see this one again, if he could just remember her name.
It was an hour later when he was sitting in his home office that he remembered more of the details of the night before, and shuddered. It was then he decided that the girl would have to be a one-off; like so many before her.
The home office was a much plainer and simpler affair than his study. It was the perfect place to interview people. In the space of two hours, Peter and Stacey saw as many as twenty-five applicants. But not one of them fit the bill. Even though Peter didn’t see much of Edward, he wanted the best possible education and care for him. Sighing, he was just about to call it quits when he heard a knock on the door. “Come!” He said, his commanding voice echoed round the room.
The door opened and a young lady stuck her head in. “Hi, sorry I’m a little late; I struggled to find the place.” As she finished speaking her mouth flashed him a smile; showing perfect white teeth. Peter paused, looking her up and down. Her carefully coordinated outfit suggested she already had enough funds to not need to work. But what really caught him were her stunning blue eyes. The deepness of the color seemed to absorb him. Her head was framed by her jet black, straight, shoulder length hair. At the edge of her vest top he could see the outline of a tattoo, although the actual design was unclear from his vantage point. She was wearing a white vest top and faded denim jeans. Peter shook his head and closed his mouth. She looked approximately 21, and he knew if he wanted to do any extra-curricular activities with her then he should not employ her. But, he did need someone to look after Edward.
Stacey quickly took charge of the meeting as Peter watched. It was very rare for a woman to have this effect on him. Part of him was terrified by the prospect of Celine being alone with him in the house. The other part was desperate for the opportunity; they could have some fun! Peter flicked his eyes across to Stacey, she seemed happy. After a moment she paused and looked at him, giving a slight nod. Peter smiled as he rose from his chair. “Great!” He said, stopping Stacey mid flow. “You are hired,” he said to Celine. As he said it he smiled, his green eyes connected with her deep ocean blue ones. There was an almost visible shimmer of electricity passing between them as he took her arm and guided her to the door. “Tomorrow okay for you to start?” He asked gently, but his tone made it obvious he wasn’t about to take no for an answer.
Celine smiled at him and her entire face lit up as she did so. “I’d like that.” Her heart soared as she left the house. Glancing back just once she climbed into her mini and headed for the main road. This was not just a real job for her, it was a well-paid one!
Peter looked at Stacey; she was a good-looking women just a couple of years older than him. “Are you busy, or can Edward and I take you out for some lunch?” Stacey smiled, “Same old Peter!” Her face glowed as she gazed deep into his eyes. After a long pause she nodded, “Yes, you and Edward can; he will make sure you behave.” Peter laughed, “I know you are spoken for, silly.” He said. The response was instant, “That doesn’t usually stop you!” Stacey exclaimed, the smile still firmly in place. Peter nodded, acknowledging the truth of her claim. “No, it doesn’t. But,” he said as his eyes twinkled, “You are a friend and I’m not ready to risk that. Babysitters are one thing, but good friends are extremely difficult to find.” Stacey nodded, grateful for his response, although part of her still wanted to rip his clothes off there and then.
Ten minutes later they were on the way to the Serpentine; one of the nicest restaurants in town. Somehow Stacey knew that Peter wouldn’t have to worry about having made a booking. There were some serious advantages to being a billionaire! The lunch passed quickly, Edward generally amused himself leaving Stacey free to talk to Peter. Although he was happy to talk, every conversation they had seemed to go back round to Celine. Stacey shook her head; “You are incorrigible!” She said with another smile. Peter nodded, his trademark half grin slipped across his face and his eyes sparkled. She suddenly felt the desire to kiss him.
Before she could act, Peter had moved the conversation on. Edward suddenly wanted to join in, and the afternoon was starting to disappear. Peter’s face sobered again; back to the expression she was now accustomed to seeing. “Time to go to work.” He said, his eyes filled with concern, almost pleading as he asked what she knew was coming; “Would you be able to keep an eye on Edward for me, just for a couple of hour?” Stacey found herself nodding; such was the power of Peter! “No problem,” she said, in fact she was simply thinking that it would give her some extra time with Peter. Maybe he could bend his rules just one more time.
Peter was as good as his word, just two hours later he returned. Although it was instantly obvious that work had not been the only thing on his agenda. Stacey scowled as she saw the leggy blonde walking in behind him. She was dressed in a short black skirt and her legs seemed to go on forever. Her cream blouse highlighted her toned stomach, whilst her bosom swelled up threatening to explode the buttons on her blouse. Stacey shook her head; she didn’t have to say a word.
Even though Peter knew exactly what she was thinking he simply shrugged and gave her a half smile. His cocky, confident charisma threatened to sweep Stacey off her feet. “Edward is already in bed,” she said a little stiffly. “You will need to look after him until your new nanny arrives at nine tomorrow morning.” Stacey pursed her lips as she studied Peter. There was no doubt he was a fine specimen of a man; he had his own personal gym, personal training coach, and a very personal work-out regime. She knew from experience how good it felt to run her hands over his chiseled abs and across his chest.
Annoyed at herself, she shook her head. She was with someone else now, but still Peter had a hold over her, and he knew it. Not that she was unique; such was the strength of his character that he seemed to have a hold over everyone. Even now, as she felt herself simmering with annoyance, his half cheeky and half amused smile calmed her. For a long moment Stacey simply stared i
nto his eyes; she could feel the connection on a base level. It was like an animal instinct.
Peter nodded, breaking the spell as he replied, “No problem.” His standard dismissive approach told Stacey it was time to get out of his house. She sighed and picked up her bag and coat. “I assume Harriet will give me a ride home?” She asked, too annoyed to worry about the obvious innuendo. Peter nodded, he crossed the grand hall way and cupped her chin in his hand. Again, Stacey felt a shimmer go through her body as he touched her. Her knees suddenly felt weak as she drunk in the intoxicating smell of his aroma; pure man. “Thanks Stacey, I appreciate it and will make it up to you.” Their noses were almost touching, Stacey desperately wanted to slide her mouth forward and lock her lips against his. That would send the leggy blonde packing and win Peter back!
For one more moment his eyes gazed into hers, appearing to drive straight into her soul. Then, with the lightest kiss on her cheek, he spun round and offered his hand to the leggy blonde. “Come on, I have something to show you that I think you will like.” With that, Stacey found herself standing alone in his oversized hallway.
