The Preacher’s Son

“I do trust you, Jeremy,” she said, moving closer to him. “I’m just so angry at her.” Even though his erection had dissipated, she could still see a faint outline through his pants. She reached over to him and began rubbing him.
“This is all mine, right?” she asked, leaning in and kissing his cheek.
He groaned. “Babe, please. Don’t do that.”
“Why not?” she asked, still touching him through his clothes. He was erect again, and she unzipped his pants before she lost her nerve. His member sprung forth, and she took it in her hand.
“Aura, what are you doing?” he asked, opening his eyes. He looked at her as she began to gingerly stroke him.
“When Joan tries to play her little games with you, think of this,” she said, lowering her head to him, and he gasped in surprise as she licked him.
“You are mine, Jeremy. This is mine. You will give yourself only to me. I want it all, even the power to arouse you.” She lowered her mouth to him again, just following her instincts.
Jeremy groaned. Heat rushed through his body as her tongue teased and tormented him. She unbuckled his belt and undid the button.
“Aura,” he said, covering her hand with his, but she would not be denied and covered his protests with a hard kiss.
“Raise up,” she instructed, pulling his pants and underwear down around his knees. She then returned to the task at hand, taking him fully into her mouth. The taste of him was new to her and aroused her. He was hers and no one else’s. She was determined that he would learn that lesson tonight.
Jeremy groaned as she moved up and down his shaft. Her mouth was hot and wet. She sucked on him and circled him with her tongue, and he knew he could not last much longer.
“Aura, I… oh, God, babe.” He gasped as she began to move faster in an up and down motion as she held him in her hand.
She slowed down and looked at him. His eyes were tightly shut, and he was breathing hard.
“Tell me!” she demanded, pausing from her task to look up at him.
“What, babe?” he whispered. “I love you?”
“No, Jeremy. Tell me this is mine and only mine. Tell me that you belong to me and only me,” she demanded.
He looked at her holding him, her face serious. “You have me lock, stock, and barrel. I love you. You own me. I am yours. What more do you want me to say, Aura? You are the only woman I want.”
She licked him as she stroked him with her hand, relishing the effect she was having on him. She was amazed that every time she did it, his eyes would roll back in his head.
“Mine?” she asked again, circling him with her tongue.
“Only you, Aura. You’re the only one,” he confessed. “You’re all I want.”
Satisfied, she then sucked hard on the head, and he became undone. His body appeared to have a mind of its own, and he involuntarily bucked upward, his eyes rolling back in his head. It was exquisite torture, and she could feel him slipping over the edge.
“I love you, babe… oh, God do I love you!” he proclaimed as his thighs shook uncontrollably.
Aura felt his hand in her hair, and he gripped her tightly, his thighs trembling before he exploded, filling her mouth. Never had she felt such a surge of power rush through her as she felt at that moment. She knew without a shadow of a doubt that he was in fact totally hers. His orgasm seemed to go on for almost a minute, and his release was like a flood as his member twitched and jerked as his seed continued to fill her mouth. Choking sounds came from his throat, and his hand tightened in her hair until he began to come down from his orgasm, falling back on the sofa.
Aura knew that she had done much more than she had anticipated, but she felt that desperate times called for desperate measures. Joan Fleming was not going to win this fight. Aura knew that she already had his heart and his mind. Now she possessed his body, and she planned to tame it so that it would respond only to her.
Daniel Ferguson stood in the sanctuary of his church with Eric and Nadine. The two held hands, and Daniel thought that they looked younger than their eighteen years.
His brother had left as well as Nadine’s parents. He could not convince them to stay for the ceremony. He looked at his sister-in-law. She had refused to go. Eric, after all, was her baby too. She would not turn her back on him.
Nadine’s sister Max sat beside her. They had introduced themselves, and Max had offered to take Rachel home when the ceremony was over.
The ceremony was brief, and Reverend Ferguson wished that it could have been under better circumstances, but he had to admit that Eric and Nadine looked happy.
“I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride,” Daniel said, smiling.
Eric bent down and kissed Nadine and then turned to his mother, who came over and hugged both of them.
“Your father will come around,” she said hopefully.
“I don’t think so, Ma,” he replied sadly. “But that’s okay.”
“No it’s not,” she replied. “I’m going to have a talk with him as well as Nathan and Matt. We are still a family. That has not changed. Max told me that you two will be staying with her tonight. This is your honeymoon. I want you to spend the night on the beach in a nice hotel. We’ll go there and get you a room for a week—my wedding present to you.”
Eric was surprised. “Thanks, Ma.”
“You’re be graduating soon. I want you two to go to school and enjoy your last days there. I don’t want you worried about anything,” Rachel insisted. “I’ll talk to your father.”
She turned to Max. “Will you come tomorrow and get me? I don’t drive, and I want to take Eric’s things over to your apartment.”
Max looked surprised. “Why don’t you drive?”
“I’ve never learned,” she confessed. “My husband always takes me wherever I go, and when he can’t, the boys do it.”
“You need to be more independent!” Max said. “You should get your license!”
Rachel was thoughtful. “When I tried years ago, my husband had no patience with me.”
“Why don’t I teach you?” Max said, grinning. “I bet you could do it without any problem.”
“Really?” Rachel asked. She hadn’t thought about trying to drive in a long time. “I think I’d like that.”
Reverend Ferguson walked over to Eric. “I’ll talk to my brother some more, Eric. Just give him some time.”
“All right, Uncle David, but I don’t give it much hope,” he said.
They walked out of the church, and Reverend Ferguson locked up. He looked at his watch. It was almost midnight. He then turned to Rachel.
“I’ll come by tomorrow,” he said. “We’ll sit down and talk.”
“All right, Daniel,” Rachel said. “I just hope you can get through to your brother if I can’t.”
“Wait a minute,” Max said, looking puzzled. “Is your name David or Daniel? I heard Eric call you David, and she just called you Daniel.”
“David is my middle name. My mother and father called me David. Of course when I went to school, everyone called me Daniel. I answer to both. Take your choice,” he said, grinning.
“Well, Reverend Daniel David Ferguson, have you ever had a night like this one?” Max asked, teasing.
“Not that I can remember,” he replied, chuckling.
CHAPTER 16
DECISIONS
Jeremy walked into First African Missionary Baptist Church wondering why Aura asked him to meet her there early on a Saturday morning.
He looked at his watch. It was ten o’clock. He looked around and saw her car parked in the lot.
He walked into the church and then to Reverend Davis’s study. He found them waiting for him. Perhaps the pastor wanted to start their marriage counseling sessions. Aura’s conversation with him had been short. He could tell that she was calling from
the church.
“Hello, Jeremy,” Reverend Davis said, smiling. “Have a seat.”
Jeremy sat in the leather chair next to Aura. “Hi, babe.”
“Jeremy, the reason why I asked Aura to call you to come here is to talk to you about your upcoming marriage; however, now I feel that the conversation should take another road.”
Jeremy looked surprised. “What do you mean?”
“Well, Aura was here because the choir was supposed to practice at nine this morning. Unfortunately, there was a mix-up, and the majority of the choir members didn’t show up for rehearsal. Since I was here early to do some paperwork, Aura and I have been talking for the past thirty minutes.”
Jeremy looked at Aura, who was staring down at her hands.
“I could tell something was bothering her,” Reverend Davis continued. “She told me what happened the other night when she came to your apartment.”
Jeremy felt his face flush red and looked away. Why would Aura share their private lives with Reverend Davis?
Reverend Davis immediately picked up on his discomfort and sought to reassure him.
“Look, I’m not here to bash you. I just want to talk to both of you realistically. I know that you two love each other. That much is obvious.” He looked at Jeremy.
“Jeremy, I know you are trying to live the Christian life as best you know how. However, you are in a profession that encourages sexual stimulation every day; let’s face it. I commend you for being able to stand strong against all the temptation that is presented to you on a daily basis. You are in an unusual situation. You are a very handsome young man who possesses an unlimited amount of sex appeal. That’s how you earn your living right now. Women are coming at you, offering themselves to you, and it can be very tempting.”
“I love Aura. I would never cheat on her, Reverend. I told her this,” he said, looking at Aura. She reached over and took his hand.
“I believe you, Jeremy,” she said.
“That’s not the point,” Reverend Davis said. “The temptation is always there, and you as a single man are especially vulnerable. You know this from the advances Aura told me you are receiving every day.”
“Reverend—”
“Let me finish,” he said. “This is not just about you being strong. It is also about Aura being strong. She did what she did because she loved you and because she realized that being celibate after you have been sexually active in the past is a great struggle for you. She knows what you are facing; it bothers her, and I am sure it makes her a bit insecure. It is a struggle for her also, but it’s not the same when you have never been sexually active. When you’ve had sex, you know what you’re missing. When you start having sex and you are a committed Christian, you will feel the condemnation. Now that she has crossed the line, so to speak, she feels that she has betrayed her vow.”
Jeremy looked at Aura. “Babe, I’m sorry.”
“It’s not your fault, Jeremy. I wanted to do it,” she said honestly.
“Aura, do you think that you can wait for him for another three months without crossing that line again?” Reverend Davis asked.
Aura looked at Jeremy. “I-I don’t know.”
“Well I think I do,” Reverend Davis replied. “You most likely will not. It’s only natural. Your desire for him has increased, no doubt. In fact, you’ve probably been thinking about it since that night. Am I right?”
“Yes,” she admitted, looking away.
“You want him more than you did before, right?”
“Yes,” she said, looking at her hands.
He looked at the two of them. “I believe the best thing for the two of you is for me to marry you now.”
“What?” Aura said, shocked.
“I will marry you two tomorrow in this office. You told me that you already have the license. You can still have the official ceremony in September. Why wait? You love each other. You know, Aura, that Jeremy is vulnerable. He needs you. Jeremy, you know that Aura wants you. Once you cross the line and become intimate, she will crave it, and you will too. It will be twice as hard to say no to each other. I’m not saying get married just for the sex. I’m saying that being in the situation that you two are in, marriage now is your best option. I will continue to counsel you as we previously discussed. I will leave you two now for a few minutes, and you can talk about it.”
He got up and walked out of the office. They were silent for a moment, and Jeremy looked at Aura.
“Are you sorry about what happened?” he asked. “I knew about your vow. I guess I should have stopped you, but I didn’t want to.”
“No, Jeremy,” she said, smiling. “I’m not sorry, but I did feel guilty afterward. We’re not married yet. I know you may have done things like this before, but this was a first for me.”
“No, Aura. It was a first for me too. I told you that some things I only wanted to share with my wife. I’ve never done it or received it… you were the first.”
She squeezed his hand. “I’ve been thinking about it… and you know I want to do it again.”
He smiled at her. “Oh really? As my wife?”
“Of course,” she said.
“You know I never wanted a long engagement, Aura. I did want you to have the wedding of your dreams though,” he said.
“I just want you,” she confessed.
He leaned over and kissed her. “I told you the other night, you have me.”
“I want to wake up with you,” she said.
He kissed her again. “I think that can be arranged.”
Matthew Morgan Ferguson stood in the doorway of his son’s room and watched his wife pack up his son’s belongings. He could not believe that she had accepted this marriage between their son and that black girl!
“Rachel, I can’t believe that you are going along with this madness!” he said.
“Matthew, Eric is our baby. He’s married now, and you might as well accept it. They both have to be out of the hotel—”
“And that’s another thing! Why in the hell did you put a week’s room and board charges on my charge card for them to stay on the beach, knowing how I feel?”
“It was their honeymoon. They needed some time alone. Besides, my name is on the credit card too. I help pay the bills around here. I work too, Matthew, and I have some say so.” She paused, looking at him.
“You are supposed to be on my side,” he responded angrily.
“I am on the side of right,” she said, stopping what she was doing and walking over to him. “Do you want your son on the street? You don’t want me to help my own son when he needs me?”
“If you didn’t make it so easy for them, he would come home, and she would just have to go live with her sister. We don’t even know that the baby is his!” Matthew insisted.
“Fine!” she said. “Be in denial. However, even if I jump on your side and demand a DNA test and it comes back 99.9 percent, then what? Will you consent to marriage? I bet you wouldn’t. You’d just tell him to pay child support.”
“What’s wrong with that? At least we’d be sure!” he argued. “We don’t know this girl!”
“But Eric does. They’ve been together two years, Matthew. This is our grandchild, our first grandchild.” She sat on the bed, looking at him. “It’s a girl… you always wanted a girl. Our first grand baby is a girl, and she will be here in two months!” she reasoned. “We can’t turn our backs on them!”
He refused to back down. “We don’t know if it’s really his.”
Rachel sighed and stood up. “I’m not going to argue with you, Matthew. I called both Nathan and Matt and told them the news.”
“What did they say?” he asked.
“Eric had already called them. Matt, of course, is furious, but Nathan didn’t seem to care.”
Her husband grunted. “I bet. Both he and Janice are pr
obably having a fit. They were supposed to have our first grandchild. They were supposed to be the ones with this news, not Eric. He’s just a baby!”
“So now it’s ‘our’ grandchild?” she asked, smiling at him.
“No, I was just saying hypothetically!” he replied.
Rachel walked over to her husband. “Max is going to be here in a few minutes to help me with this stuff. Your son is graduating in a couple of days. Be nice and come to the graduation. Don’t be so stubborn!”
Matthew looked at the bags and didn’t reply immediately. He couldn’t believe that Eric was moving out. The boy was only eighteen and wasn’t ready to become a father! Why couldn’t Rachel understand that?
“Why are you now hanging with that girl’s sister?” he asked. “You just met her. I don’t understand you, Rachel!”
The doorbell rang before she could answer, and Rachel walked to the doorway and turned back to Matthew.
“That’s Max. She’s helping me with Eric’s things. I’m not hanging out with her. She’s my children’s age, Matthew. I’m just helping Eric.”
“How many children does she have?” he muttered.
“None,” Rachel said, dragging a bag into the hallway. “Help me with this stuff. I’ll get the door.”
She went downstairs and opened the door. Max was there as well as Eric.
“Hi, Mom,” he said, smiling before kissing her on the cheek. “How’s you know who?”
“He’s fine. He’s upstairs. You go on up. Max you help me in the kitchen. I have some food I’m sending over to your house.” Rachel sighed. She looked at Max. “How are you, Max?”
“Fine,” Max responded.
“I have enough food prepared to last for a few days,” Rachel said, walking to the kitchen with Max following behind her.
