Ocean Breeze Page 34

“Payton,” she breathed as she broke the kiss. Jackie didn’t need to say anything. Payton knew, kissing her once more before finding Jackie’s hand and leading her over to the bed and gently pushing her on to it. Payton lifted her navy top over her head, revealing a black bra, as she climbed on to the bed, dipping her head to find Jackie’s lips again.

Jackie didn’t think she’d ever get enough of Payton. Kissing her was so intoxicating. She had Jackie’s entire body humming, teetering towards the edge, and Payton had barely touched her.

Jackie raked her fingers across Payton’s back as she parted her lips, kissing Payton hungrily, their tongues dancing. Her hips automatically left the mattress, eager to get that pressure back, but Payton was gone again.

Payton was kneeling on the bed, unbuttoning Jackie’s jeans, lowering the zipper. She tugged them down Jackie’s legs, tossing them over the edge of the bed before resuming her position on top of her.

“I have a feeling,” Payton whispered between kisses, her hand running up Jackie’s thigh, over her panties, and under her shirt to cup her breast through her bra, “That if I were to...” Payton’s voice trailed off as her fingers traced a line down her stomach and slipped underneath Jackie’s panties, her hand cupping her sex before she glided her fingers along her slit. Payton groaned, her breath hot on Jackie’s neck. “You’re so wet.”

Jackie’s answer was to reach up, her hand on Payton’s cheek, bringing their lips back together while Payton circled her clit with slow and deliberate movements. Jackie kissed Payton’s neck, her tongue flickering over her soft skin as she unclasped Payton’s bra, pushing the straps away from her shoulders, and Jackie’s breath caught as Payton’s breasts spilled out, hovering above her.

“The jeans,” Jackie said, her voice barely recognizable as her own. “They have to go.”

Payton nodded and stood, stripping them off, leaving her in just her black panties. Jackie took off her own top and bra as Payton climbed back on top of her, picking up where she left off, her hand flat against Jackie’s stomach as it slid lower, moving underneath the black lacy fabric as she kissed her.

Jackie’s hand was filled with Payton’s breast, her fingers playing with her nipple, before moving to the other. Payton’s breath was ragged as Jackie kneaded each breast, her own hips gently rocking to Payton’s touch.

“I can’t believe how wet you are,” Payton whispered, dipping her head to take one of Jackie’s nipples in her mouth.

Jackie groaned as Payton’s tongue flicked across her nipple, hardening it in seconds, and Jackie knew she was not going to make it through much more foreplay.

Payton’s hand was gone, but Jackie could feel her sliding her panties down her legs. The rush of cool air against Jackie’s sex sent a tingling sensation through her entire body. Payton must have taken hers off too, because Jackie’s hands found her ass with nothing between her fingers and Payton’s soft skin.

Jackie moaned into another heated kiss, but instead of letting Payton take the lead, she rolled them over, and Jackie let her eyes roam over Payton’s body. She didn’t even know where to start.

Payton’s hand slid between Jackie’s legs, her fingers back on her clit, but Jackie found her hands and pinned them to the bed.

“I had no idea,” Jackie said with a smirk.

  “You had no idea what?”

  “That you were a top.”

Payton rolled her eyes. “I’m not anything, Jackie. I just want you, and I couldn’t wait.”

“I know the feeling,” Jackie murmured as she lowered her head, kissing Payton tenderly on the lips before moving lower, trailing kisses over her collarbone and across each breast, taking her time.

Payton writhed beneath her, but Jackie kept her hands pinned to the sheets as she sucked on each of Payton’s nipples, circling those hardened peaks with her tongue and gently biting down before moving lower.

She had to let go of Payton’s hands as she kissed her stomach and then her mound, sinking lower until Jackie was comfortable between Payton’s legs, parting them gently with her fingers, the musky scent of Payton’s arousal filling the room. Payton’s sex glistened. Apparently, Jackie wasn’t the only one who was wet.

Jackie tongue swept across her folds, pushing them apart on her way up to Payton’s clit. She skimmed across Payton’s sensitive bud, coming back to circle it, to take it into her mouth, her tongue gently moving across the bundle of nerves, swirling around it as Payton’s back arched off the bed, her hips lifting to Jackie’s mouth.

Payton’s hand threaded through Jackie’s hair, keeping her there, her moans urging Jackie on as her tongue continued to lick and tease Payton.

“Fingers,” Payton panted, and Jackie looked up to meet Payton’s eyes, momentarily taken aback by the desire in them. “I need your fingers, Jackie.”

Jackie’s tongue moved across her clit one last time before she propped herself up with one hand, shifting her weight until she was on top of Payton again, her hand hovering, her fingers gliding through Payton’s slickness.

Jackie had two fingers ready, her eyes locked on to Payton’s as she pushed her fingers inside of her, easily slipping in before withdrawing them slowly and finding a steady rhythm. Jackie bent to find Payton’s lips, kissing her as she started to move her fingers a little faster.

Payton broke the kiss, her fingers digging into Jackie’s arm as her hips met Jackie’s strokes. Payton’s head was thrown back into the pillow, and Jackie took the opportunity to lower her head and kiss her neck, then her collarbone before finding her nipple again and taking it into her mouth, her fingers keeping a steady pace. She could hear Payton’s wetness against her hand, and it was such a turn on. Jackie knew it wouldn’t take much to get her over the edge, but right now, she had all her attention on Payton.

Jackie added a third finger as Payton’s hand grabbed her ass, keeping her close, and Jackie took the hint, shortening her strokes.

“Oh my God,” Payton moaned. “I’m so close. Yeah. Just...” Her voice trailed off as her hips lifted, and Jackie held her fingers inside of her as Payton’s body trembled, then stiffened, her hands clinging to Jackie’s arm and back as she rolled her hips against Jackie’s palm.

  “Fuucckk.”

Payton’s body went limp underneath her, a light layer of sweat glistening off her body.

Jackie carefully withdrew her fingers, her heart racing. She’d never made anyone come like that. Payton had been the image of pleasure, her entire body taken over by desire, and Jackie took a moment to drink it all in. Jackie’s eyes raked over her body, one arm covering Payton’s eyes as she tried to catch her breath.

“I don’t even have words,” Payton murmured. “That was incredible.” Her eyes fluttered open, her arm thrown out to the side. “You are so fucking sexy,” she said, looking up at her.

Jackie pushed her hair over one shoulder as she straddled her leg, and Payton’s hand reached up to fondle her breast as she licked her lips.

Jackie bent down to kiss Payton, and their lips met in a slow, sensual kiss as Jackie grinded her center against Payton’s leg. They both moaned, and Payton’s hand moved to Jackie’s hip as she sat up, encouraging the rocking of Jackie’s hips, guiding her towards Payton’s own sex, and when their clits touched, Jackie closed her eyes, her mouth agape.

Payton’s hands moved across Jackie’s silky smooth skin, looking up at her as she rolled her hips against Payton.

Jackie’s eyes were closed, her breasts swaying with the motion of her hips, and Payton was so close to coming again. She loved having Jackie on top of her, setting the rhythm, grinding up against her.

Payton reached up to knead Jackie’s breast, tweaking her nipple between her fingertips as Jackie’s hips moved faster, her strokes shorter.

“Fuck,” Jackie grunted, her eyes on Payton. “Yeah.”

“Don’t stop,” Payton moaned, sliding her hand over Jackie’s hip, groping her ass with both hands as they moved together,
both of them so close. Jackie came first, her hand pressed against Payton’s chest as she leaned forward with once last roll of her hips, and Payton held on to her, coming undone with the added pressure. Payton’s second orgasm took over her body, a warmth spreading through her with Jackie’s breasts against hers, their bodies tangled together.

Payton kissed Jackie, rolling them over as she parted her lips, finding her tongue, tasting herself on Jackie’s lips.

Payton broke away, still out of breath, her thumb grazing across Jackie’s bottom lip as her eyes fluttered open.

They both smiled, and Payton couldn’t remember ever feeling like this. That was unlike anything she’d ever experienced, and she knew that this wasn’t what a one night stand looked like. That was too intense, too intimate.

“You’re beautiful,” Jackie whispered, brushing Payton’s hair away from her face.

Payton bit her lip. Yeah. This was so much more than that.

  Chapter 14

Payton blinked, her eyes focusing on the digital clock beside the bed. 9:53AM. She rolled onto her back, flashes of last night coming back to her as she stretched her legs, but the space beside her was empty. She pushed herself up, leaning back against the headboard as the sheet fell away from her naked body. She inhaled a shaky breath, swallowing the lump in her throat.

Last night definitely happened and after the shock of waking up alone wore off, Payton knew that it was for the best that Jackie wasn’t here. This was what casual looked like.

She wiped her hand across her face. She’d felt more last night than she ever had with anyone. That was why she had this heaviness in her chest. She swung her legs out of the bed and padded into the shower.

The hot spray massaged her aching muscles, and she tried her best not to feel sorry for herself. She was the problem here. If she knew what she was doing, if she thought she could see herself staying in Benalmadena, then this didn’t need to be casual.

“Fucking hell,” Payton muttered to herself as she turned off the water and dried herself off. She really wasn’t cut out for this. Good thing she hadn’t tried it before. She wanted to wake up beside Jackie, to wrap her arm around her waist and go back to sleep for another hour.

They could be having breakfast together right now, but instead, Payton was standing in front of her refrigerator in her white silk robe wondering if she could even eat anything right now. Why did she feel sick? She should be happy. She should be feeling like she did this time yesterday when the memories of kissing Jackie the day before were fresh in her mind.

This was what she wanted. Jackie had fallen into her bed last night. The chemistry had been off the charts. Why couldn’t she just enjoy this without worrying about the future?

Payton poured herself a glass of orange juice and took a long drink. She went back into her bedroom to get changed and tied her wet hair back in a messy bun, bringing her orange juice out onto the balcony. She swept her eyes across the apartment buildings to her left, then to the beach and the waves calmly rolling into the shore.

Could she see herself living here? A part of her could. She’d already fallen in love with this part of Spain but spending a few weeks at a time here wasn’t the same as calling this her permanent home. On the flight over, she’d drifted off to sleep trying to imagine herself living in London or Benalmadena, before remembering how much she loved New York.

Payton knew this was a first world problem. She had three amazing places she could call home, and right now, she couldn’t make a decision. There were things she loved about each of them, and if she wasn’t going to be a lawyer, she could figure out a career that allowed her to move between the three. Photography seemed like the obvious winner, but that was before last night.

Payton rested her forearms on the balcony wall and watched the waves coming in. She didn’t need to put herself under this kind of pressure. There was a reason that she booked a one-way ticket. She had time to think, but she hated the idea of leading Jackie on.

Yes, Jackie had said that she was okay with this, but Payton wondered if that was something she’d said in the heat of the moment, because if she hadn’t said that, last night wouldn’t have happened. They would have agreed that they should forget about that kiss, that they should just be friends until Payton knew what she was doing.

She blew out a long breath. This was so new to her, having this many choices. In college she’d been so busy, between studying and working at a coffee shop, and she’d spent the last year just trying to get through the days.

It was like she’d come up for air after being underwater for a dangerous amount of time, her eyes wide, her senses heightened, searching for anything to cling onto, to keep her afloat.

What if that’s what this was with Jackie? What if she was running towards the nearest source of comfort?

Payton finished her glass of orange juice, still standing, unable to sit down and relax. She glanced at her watch. It was only five thirty in the morning in New York. She’d call her friend from college in a few hours and see if Tara had any advice for her, anyone she’d be willing to introduce her to. Maybe that would help her make some sort of a decision.

Payton picked up the pace, her sneakers pounding the tiled promenade as she got closer to her building, finishing her run strong. She took a few deep breaths as she slowed down to a jog and then a walk, her hands above her head, her legs like jelly.

She’d been too restless this morning, waiting to call Tara, and since her building didn’t have a gym, a run was the next best thing. She’d gone for a run at least four days a week when she lived in New York, and it would have been easy to let that habit slide here, replacing it with lounging on the beach or sitting by the marina with a glass of wine.

This was something she would do if she lived here, and Payton knew she had to start thinking like that. She had to start looking at this as a trial and not a holiday, and that’s how she was going to spend the next few weeks. She’d start setting an alarm in the mornings, go for a run just like she would in New York, take some photos in the afternoon and start thinking about what a photography business would look like.

Would she use her name, Payton Sutton Wedding Photography or come up with a completely different business name? She knew enough about websites that she could create something this week. She’d also have to ask Oliver and Alvaro if she could use their photos as part of her portfolio.

Payton’s breathing was almost back to normal as she climbed the steps to her building and waited for the elevator in the lobby. Going for a run had been a good idea. That was when her best ideas came to her.

She bent down to stretch, reaching for her toes, straightening up when she heard the elevator ping and the doors slide open, and she nearly collided with whoever was coming out.

“Sorry,” Payton said reflexively, but her eyes met Jackie’s, and she forgot to breathe.

“Hi,” Jackie said, her lips sliding into a smile. She was wearing black pants and an off the shoulder gray top, her hair tied back in a ponytail.

“Hey.” Payton brushed a loose strand of hair away from her eyes. “Off to work?”

Jackie nodded. “I’m working a bit more this week to cover for Oliver.”

They stood there in the empty lobby for a second until they both started talking at the same time.

Jackie cleared her throat. “About this morning-”

“Last night was-” Payton stopped, looking away as she smiled. “Sorry. Go ahead.”

“I was just going to say that I’m sorry that I left this morning. I was tempted to stay, for the record, but I didn’t think it would be a good idea. I should have said something, but then I didn’t want to wake you,” Jackie said in a rush. “I guess, I didn’t know what the best thing to do was.”

Payton smiled, relief washing over her knowing that Jackie hadn’t just lept out of bed without another thought. “It’s okay,” she said, her hands on her waist as she met Jackie’s eyes.

  Jackie took a step c
loser, her hand on Payton’s hot cheeks, her thumb light caressing her.

“I’m pretty gross right now,” Payton said as Jackie inched forward.

“Not to me.” Jackie brushed her lips across Payton’s.

Payton sighed as Jackie’s lips parted against hers. They were soft and warm, and Payton held onto Jackie’s hips when her tongue skimmed across her own. She loved the way Jackie kissed her, somehow possessively but still tender, and she wished they were upstairs and not in the lobby.

Jackie broke the kiss. “I’m finishing up at nine tonight.”

Payton wet her lips. “Okay.” She could get lost in those hazel green eyes.

“You can come over any time after that, if you want to have a drink...”

Payton nodded. “Sure.” Words were a struggle right now. She was still dazed from that kiss.

“Or not? If you have other plans, that’s okay.”

  “No. I’ll be there.”

Jackie smiled, her eyes almost sparkling. “Alright. I’ll see you tonight then.”

“Bye.” She pressed the button for the elevator, waiting a second for the doors to open again and stepped in. She watched Jackie leave the lobby, admiring the way her black pants clung to her legs and hips. “I have it so bad,” Payton whispered as the doors closed, and she leaned back against the mirror, her eyes fluttering closed, already thinking ahead to tonight.

  Chapter 15

Jackie made the short walk home from the restaurant with a bottle of one of their nicest Riojas in her hand. She got back to her apartment at ten minutes after nine and uncorked the bottle, letting it breathe while she went to get changed.

She’d spent most of the day on her feet, greeting customers, filling in when their waiters were busy. She always did a little bit of everything even though they had a manager and six waiting staff working every day. Jackie liked being involved, and Oliver was the same. They still wanted to be hands on even after all these years.
