No recriminations? Jessie wasn’t listening anymore. He kept talking, but she just held the phone in her hand. The baby didn’t belong to Jacob. She started to shake. The baby didn’t belong to Jacob. Jacob wasn’t the father. Jacob loved this baby! Suddenly, every insecurity and doubt that Jessie had ever had hit her full force. What was she going to do? How could she tell him? Would he still want to marry her? Jessie sat there, still holding the phone.
“Pumpkin?” Jacob walked in and found her just staring into space. She was deathly white. “Jess? What’s wrong?”
Blankly, she looked up at him. This was it. She would be alone, again. From the first moment Jacob had heard about the baby, he had wanted it. His baby. She had almost convinced herself that he was marrying her because he loved her - but deep inside she knew that her being pregnant with his child was the necessary piece of the puzzle. Without the baby, they would have never met, fell in love or decided to marry. The baby was everything to Jacob. “You’re not the father of my baby, Jacob. It’s all been a lie.” Numbly, she stood and began to walk away from him.
“Wait,” Jacob’s voice invited no argument. Jessie halted. He grabbed her by the wrist and tugged her into his embrace. “You’re wrong, Jessie. That is my baby.”
Jessie wilted. “No, Mr. Brown called…” and she began to tell him the conversation.
“Baby, Baby, stop.” he shushed her. “Don’t you shed one more tear.” He began to kiss the dampness away. “I knew, Jessie. I knew.” Jessie got chills. This was déjà vu all over again. The last time she had confessed about the baby, he had said those same words, ‘he knew’.
“What do you mean?” She was clinging to him. She had nowhere else to go. He was her world.
“I got the phone call about the paternity test before we rescued you. At the time, it wasn’t important - all that was important was getting you and the baby back.” As he talked to her, he rubbed her back, her arms - kissing her on the face, the neck. He was letting her know with his whole body that she was everything to him. “After you came home - frankly - I forgot about it.” Holding her head in both hands, he made her look him in the eye. “I love you. You. You are more important to me than my land, my home - hell, you are more important to me than my own life. And the child you carry will be mine. I will love you and him every single day of my life.” He sealed that promise with a kiss that took her breath away.

A Glimpse Into The Future
Jacob opened the truck door. Noah met him with a slap on the back and a brotherly hug. “We’ve been waiting on you guys.”
Jacob unlatched the newborn car seat and handed Noah his brand new nephew. Isaac carried Jessie’s luggage and Nathan carried the balloon bouquet.
Jacob carried Jessie. “We’re home, sweet-angel.”
The whole family crowded around them. All eight of them. Nathan, Noah and three other happy couples stood around Jacob, Jessie and Bowie Travis.
“Bowie Travis?” Aron asked. “You named him after Bowie Travis Malone?”
“Yea, I did.” Jacob hoped that wherever Bowie Travis Malone was he was just half as happy, safe, and loved as Bowie Travis McCoy. “We’re gonna call him Travis.”
“I’m gonna call him B. T,” Nathan laughed. “B. T. McCoy.”
“Isn’t he beautiful?” Jessie asked.
Jacob knelt by his little family. “He sure is.” He kissed his baby, then held out his hand and invited his beloved wife into their circle of love. Little Bowie Travis had dark sable brown hair and lapis blue eyes. He was the picture of his father – Jacob. What did doctors know anyway? “This is my baby. A real McCoy.”

My name is
Sable Hunter and I love to cook.
I also love to write romance novels.
Inside this book you will find some of the recipes that my heroines prepared
for their heroes, as well as other recipes that I like to prepare in my home.
There are also some recipes that readers have given to me
that I think you will enjoy.
Foreword
Let me preface this cookbook by saying that the novels I write are not G rated; I write erotic romances, but they are full of love and tenderness – suspense and tears – laughter and joy. And while some of these recipes may be HOT and spicy, none of them are X-rated. The covers of my books are included as well as some PG-rated snippets and hints to future books. This is meant to be fun for my readers as well as acceptable to those who do not read this genre, but might like to look at the handsome Jimmy Thomas. Ha!
It is my plan to release my ‘Savory’ erotic romances in a toned down version, a ‘Sweeter’ version, with a little less explicitness, but the same rollercoaster emotions that I love to write. For those of you who like your romances to be a little less racy, look for my Sweet Sable versions of my Hell Yeah! and Hell Yeah! Cajun Style series coming in 2013. To celebrate that endeavor, my recipe book is divided into two categories ‘Savory’ and ‘
Sweeter ’.
I welcome you to my world. I write about handsome alpha heroes and the women who bring them to their knees. My heroes are passionate and loyal, and my heroines have real challenges; they don’t think they are worthy of love. Yet, they meet a man who thinks they are perfect, just the way they are. The worlds that I create are places where right prevails, love conquers all and holding out for a hero is not an impossible dream.

When I am making soups and stews along with various other meat or vegetable dishes, I rarely use water. I use broth instead. It makes the dish taste richer.
I prefer Kosher salt over regular iodized salt.
I do not use margarine; I use real butter in my dishes.
Any alcohol that I use in my recipes is something I would serve at my table to drink. Rule of thumb: If it is not good enough to drink, it is not good enough to put into your dish.
