“Cuddling? That’s just so British. I’m sorry but I’m not making no promises. I genuinely don’t think I can resist that body all night,” she said seriously. “From the day I saw you at the pool I’ve been desperate to touch you.”

“Well you best try,” she said, pulling her out of the pool.

Georgia was lying in bed, waiting for Erika to finish in the shower. She had put the TV on and was blowing on the pebble, pouring them both a little more to drink. Georgia assessed the room, appreciating the glow and scent of the candles she’d lit.

“Hey, girl done good,” Erika said, coming out of the shower with just a shirt on. “It’s perfect. You are too much, lady,” she said seriously.

“No, I’m just a bit of a hopeless romantic, apparently,” she said softly. “But there is one last thing,” she said, smiling.

“Something else? Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever felt so special,” she said, crawling up on the bed towards her. “Okay, what?”

Georgia got closer to Erika, pulling the candle over to allow her to see. “This is for you,” she said, holding her hand out closed.

Erika looked at her confused, before opening her hand up and seeing the smooth grey pebble lay there. Georgia flipped it over, allowing Erika to see. Picking it up she saw the words written on it, ‘you’re beautiful,’ with the date and their initials. “It’s kind of stupid but…”

“Don’t you dare…” she stopped, stunned by the action. “I love it. It’s amazing. A memory from our first ever date,” she said. Putting it on the side table, Erika rolled back over and looked into Georgia’s eyes. “You are so incredibly beautiful, and I can’t wait to make love to you all night long,” she said seriously, pushing Georgia back and kissing her passionately.

  Chapter Seventy-Five

Georgia woke and realised that Erika was not lying when she said she wanted to make love to her all-night long. She was lucky if they’d even had an hour’s sleep. But by God it was worth it. She looked down to the woman before her and all her fears seemed to fade. She didn’t know if it would go perfectly or if it would end in disaster. One thing was for sure, she didn’t feel like she had any further doubts in her mind right now. This woman was simply spectacular.

Georgia debated laying and watching her or making breakfast, opting for the latter. She gently eased her way out of bed and threw on an oversized shirt, and quietly made her way downstairs.

Having no idea what the woman liked, she decided she would make a mixture of things. That was certainly something she had noticed over here. They mixed their foods together between sweet and savoury, like melon and bacon, or orange and scrambled eggs. Odd and definitely not for her, but she was happy to make a few different things.

Georgia walked back into the room a short while later, “Heeeey there you are,” Erika said sleepily.

“What you missing me?” She smiled to her, walking over with the tray. “I thought I’d make you breakfast in bed.”

“Wow. You did? I thought you’d had second thoughts,” she said, still coming around. She sat up slightly, pulling the cover over her embarrassedly.

“You’re kidding,” Georgia said, pulling the blanket down to where it was originally. “Please don’t hide yourself from me, I want to see you. I love looking at you,” she said seriously.

“Me too,” Erika said shyly. “So, what do I got here?”

  ***

Erika had managed to get Dan’s parents to look after Dulcie for the rest of the weekend. Which resulted in the day being spent in bed, watching back to back movies. Well, maybe not watching. They were on in the background as the women were enjoying…getting to know each other’s bodies. Erika couldn’t remember if anyone had ever made her feel so alive. Her body would hit a full state of ecstasy and then mere moments later, she was craving Georgia’s touch once more.

It was almost six pm when they finally decided they needed to get up and eat, having realised that nothing had passed their lips since breakfast in the morning. While they were reluctant to leave the comfort of the bedroom, it was going to end up with them getting bed sores. So, they agreed they would get up to eat and then return to bed. After all, an early night was required when they were back in work in the morning.

  ***

Georgia couldn’t remember feeling like this, being like this, or behaving like this, in…well, forever. She felt giddy, and she wanted to make everything perfect. Have everything perfect, and allow this beautifully incredible woman to realise how perfect she was. They were lying in bed, naked once more. Georgia one way and Erika resting her head on her tummy another way, as they quietly watched the pinks and purples of the sun set fill the room. The soft sounds of Sarah McLachlan love songs were playing in the background. It really has been a perfect weekend, she thought, feeling the fear of this odd and idiosyncratic situation.

  “George?”

  “Yeah?”

“Thank you…seriously, thank you for everything. You have truly given me the most incredible weekend,” she said.

“Me too. I’ve loved every minute of it. I wish we could stay like this forever,” she said, softly twisting her fingers through her long silky hair.

“Forever huh? Forever’s a long time,” she said seriously.

“Well, forever’s not long enough in my opinion.”

“You are such a softy. I... I love it,” she said.

“Interestingly, I’m really not. I’m a worker. I work and don’t get involved. It’s new to me. I can’t explain it, but you…you appear to bring something out of me. Something I’ve never experienced before,” she said.

Erika turned around onto her side to face her. “Do you mean that?” she asked seriously.

“I’ve never been more serious in my life,” gently tapping the tip of her index finger on her nose.

“You wanna hear something weird?” Erika said.

  “Sure? Crack on.”

“I’ve never been so sex obsessed with anyone before.” She smiled wide eyed.

“You have got to be kidding. You wouldn’t bloody think it.” She smiled.

“Nope,” Erika smirked, raising her eyebrows.

“Erika, seriously you’ve gotta be kidding me. I can’t take any more,” she said, as she watched Erika slowly making small kisses down her tummy, gasping deeply.

Erika made her way up the bed and faced Georgia, her long black hair falling over her face. “Well that’s kind of a shame. Because I’m ready for dessert, and I’m completely hungry for you.”

“God, you are insatiable. I don’t think I have ever met anyone as beautiful as you,” she said, meaning every word as she looked deeply into her eyes.

“Nobody’s ever made me feel as beautiful as you make me feel. I love that. I love…” she sighed. “I love being like this, I love how you make me feel,” she said sadly.

“So, if you love it so much, why do you look so sad?”

“It’s nothing,” she said, allowing the fear and concern of how she was feeling to fill her body.

“Don’t shut me out, please? Talk to me, it’s me and you now. Well and Dulcie. Just the three of us,” she said seriously. “Well, if you want it to be,” she added. “I’m falling in love with you, Erika Conte,” she said finally.

Erika suddenly felt overwhelmed at the words, and knew in that moment that Georgia wasn’t Dan. “Really?”

  “Yes.”

“But why? The way it started, the way I treated you…”

“Erika, we can’t keep doing this. It’s done and now…well I don’t know; I’ve not done this before. I work and don’t play. I don’t have a social aspect because everything is about business. But I can’t deny how I feel. And I don’t know how the bloody hell its happened. But maybe it was just meant to,” she said incredulously. “I feel I need to just maybe stop being afraid and just let go,” Georgia said, terrified. Especially how rapidly it was happening, but she co
uldn’t not.

Erika’s eyes went wide as she kissed her way down Georgia’s trim body, to make love to her once again.

  Ten months later

  Epilogue

  “Are you kidding?”

“Nope, you were the ones who caused all of this. What was it you said? You will get on cracking together? Umm, was it? You’re so much alike,” Georgia said seriously.

“So what happens now?” Mike looked between Derek and the women sitting before him.

“Well realistically we don’t know, we figured it would probably be best if I leave,” Erika said.

“Wait? What? Jesus, I’m not having that.”

“Well, in that case then, just as you asked us to give it a go and have faith in the situation, we will put our faith in you once more, and ask you to do what you need to do to make something happen. Georgia can’t leave. She won’t get another job because she isn’t a citizen. But for now, we have a spouse green card meeting,” Erika said, smiling widely and grabbing her girlfriend’s hand.

“So, you’re actually not planning on coming home?” Derek asked her seriously.

“I’m really hoping not, Derek. I love her and I want to spend the rest of my life with her. So, I need you guys to help make that happen.”

“And what about the MD job in Manchester? You know the one you were working towards?” he added.

“It left me the day I met Erika,” she said seriously, getting up and leaving the restaurant hand in hand.

“Are you sure you wanna do this? It’s kind of a big deal,” Erika said seriously.

“Unless you’ve changed your mind. I love you and want to be here with you and Dulcie. Forever.”

“I love you too, baby girl, let’s go kick some government butt.” She smiled, kissing her girlfriend softly.

  ***

“Mommy,” Dulcie said excitably. “Look what we’re doing,” she called out from the kitchen.

“Georgia, this one’s for you,” she said, pointing to the cookie she’d made for her.

“It is? Wowzers, that’s awesome,” she said, kissing the little girls head. “Tay, thanks for today.”

“Hey, no worries, how did it go?”

“Who knows!” she said concerned. “Hey, kiddo, how about we make some hand cookies?”

“What are they?” she said seriously, looking up to Georgia from the chair she was standing on.

“You don’t know what hand cookies are? Wow, you haven’t lived until you’ve made them,” she said. “Okay, so we need to wash our hands first.” They returned to the cookie mixture and pressed Dulcie’s little hand into the mixture. She used the knife to cut around her hand and did one of her own.

“Hey, baby, this is Sharon Lopez,” Erika said, walking into the kitchen with a short Hispanic woman following her.

“Hi, nice to meet you,” she said, wiping her hand. “Apologies, hand cookies.” She smiled, holding up her hand. “Okay, kiddo, you finish these with Tay and we’ll decorate them together in a, while right?” she said, leaving the kitchen to face the woman who was going to be involved in the process of hopefully making Georgia an American citizen.

Georgia followed them into the second sitting room and sat down. “So, how does this work then?” she said nervously.

“Today’s meeting is just about you guys. We just go through a heap of paperwork and some questions to prove that you are really a couple and are together.” She smiled widely.

“Okay,” Georgia said apprehensively. She felt the squeeze of her girlfriend’s hand, as she looked over to her. “I love you, angel,” she whispered as they both looked up to Sharon who had caught them, and was smiling at them both widely.

“This will be fine, ladies. You will be fine,” she said back to the couple, before issuing them the documentation to begin the process for citizenship.
