Stolen Destiny

Dlafen shrugged. “Your species has a higher-than-average amount of positive matches.”

“So, you run around and check for matches?” She frowned.

“No, I am a medical officer first. I was just able to check you for the records. I work on the ship, I enjoy time with family and friends on shore leave. For a Byrcal-Yith, I have a surprisingly normal life.”

She smiled and flinched when Kalek’s hand on her thigh moved. She finished the food on her plate, and he eased her back against him while he finished his own meal.

Dlafen asked, “So, you were aware the entire time you were in the transport container?”

She wrinkled her nose. “Yes. I could only see as much as my lids would allow, but I could occasionally open my eyes wide for a few seconds.”

“I wonder if that is a side effect of your cognition or if it’s physiological.”

Kalek murmured, “If she agrees, you can run some scans. But, only if she agrees.”

Sil cocked her head. “When would you want to do this?”

  Dlafen looked delighted. “Tomorrow?”

Kalek shook his head. “Tomorrow, we deal with Jornal.”

The rest of the table nodded.

“So, what is the issue with the Hmrain visiting? Do they actually steal companions?” She tried to keep her tone calm as Kalek’s fingers began to slowly stroke her, but she was pretty sure that her voice went up at the end of the question.

“He will try to steal you, seduce you, lure you into the shadows. Jornal is seven hundred years older than I am and has never had a true companion. He has always waited when a new source appears and missed out.” Kalek kissed the side of her neck, and a few of the officers looked at him with surprise in their expressions. “Now, you are near his territory, and he doesn’t have to dive into the bidding wars that are erupting.”

  She blinked. “The what now?”

He scraped his teeth across her neck. “Bidding wars. The active Hmrain who don’t have companions with breeding characteristics are interested in finding one. We are all one-of-a-kind creatures, and the only way to carry on our lines is by finding suitable women or men to spur on the next generation. The frequency is the primary indicator of a match, and the sexual response is secondary. Still vital but secondary.”

She shivered with ten curious eyes watching her. She pointed behind her and asked, “Does he do this often?”

Yamet shook his head in bemusement. “No. I have never seen him acting like this.”

She shivered. “My family had a feline like this once. It got bitey, too.”

Kalek rumbled in her ear. “I am right here, you know.”

His fingers slid deep, and she gasped.

Through gritted teeth, she muttered to the room at large. “Talk amongst yourselves.”

Laughter rippled through them, and she gripped the edge of the table. Her tormentor loosened her grip, and she grabbed his thighs instead as she panted and he stroked her clit with his thumb. Dlafen looked embarrassed, and she muttered, “Sorry about this.”

Her climax hit, and she inhaled sharply, her back arched, and Kalek watched her, kissing her slowly when she slumped back against him. He must have looked at his officers, and they jolted in surprise.

She gasped to a halt and said, “Did he do the eye thing again?”

Yamet nodded. “You knew about that?”

“It is hard to miss at close quarters.” She smiled.

She felt in control until he moved his hand, and she hissed as aftershocks ripped through her. She twitched and dug her nails into his thighs.

She tilted her head back to look at him. “Was there a purpose to this teasing?”

He smiled. “They needed to see why you are important.”

“You couldn’t have just sent out a memo?”

He pulled his left hand out from between her thighs and cleaned his fingers with his slightly abrasive tongue.

  She flushed scarlet.

Dlafen was breathing hard, and she winced as she apologized. “I am sorry about that, but you must have something similar, right?”

Dlafen shook his head. “Pleasure, yes. Not like that.”

Kalek laughed. “That was just the starter, and she was trying to have a conversation during it. If I get her full attention, I get a lot more.”

Sil felt a push at her mind, and she stared at Dlafen.

  He gasped, “You haven’t yet...”

“No, not yet. So, you can see why I want everyone on alert tomorrow. She will not leave this ship. Are we clear on that?”

The bemused officers nodded. The head of security smiled and asked, “Mistress Silhouette, what just happened to you?”

Sil’s face flared hot again. “Um, I am not sure how to answer that. Ask Captain Kalek; he did all the work.”

She felt a frisson of fear run down her spine when Kalek said, “I can demonstrate it.”

Dlafen cleared his throat. “Captain, perhaps I could simply explain. Lieutenant Commander Towo, it is the hydenak response. She can access it as many times as she wishes to.”

  Towo snorted. “Impossible.”

Sil looked to Kalek. “Should I be offended? I feel like I should be offended.”

He grinned. “They fuck for pleasure, but it is like a workout that occasionally results in children. They don’t climax; they just rise and fall.”

“Oh. That is rather sad.” She looked at Towo. “So, you don’t think I have done that at all?”

“I do not think it is possible to do it more than a handful of times in a lifetime.”

  Sil shrugged. “Okay.”

Kalek blinked. “You are not going to try and convince her?”

“Of course not. If they don’t have that as part of their reactions, then it has no meaning for me to say I do.” She shrugged.

He lifted his head and nodded. Sil followed his gaze, and the server nodded, and a moment later, dessert was served.

She looked at it and noticed that everybody got a spoon with theirs except for her. She looked at her serving and was going to go in face first when Kalek handed her his spoon. “You are in charge for both of us.”

She took the spoon and held it up. She got a spoonful for her chair and turned to spoon it into his mouth. His teeth clicked on the spoon, and she licked some of the sugar and cream off the metal surface before she did it again.

She muttered. “If you bite the bowl off the spoon, I am not going in after it.”

He grinned and murmured, “You are welcome to have some as well.”

She ate some and closed her eyes happily. “It’s really good.”

“I know.” He chuckled. “Are you going to eat it all?”

She mumbled around her third mouthful. “Maybe?”

  Kalek reached for the spoon.

“Nope. Mine. I am in charge.” She set the empty bowl down, and she picked up the second. She got a scoop and held it up to his lips. He opened his mouth and licked the spoon with a surprisingly agile tongue.

Sil swallowed, and it took her several seconds to notice that the spoon was empty. She held another spoonful up to him, and she said, “Do that again.”

His eyes crinkled with amusement, and he slowly lapped at the frothy dessert. The images in her mind were intriguing, but she had to shake herself into paying attention and giving him the third serving. This time, he took the spoon in his mouth, and when she withdrew it, it was sparkling clean. She sighed, and the next spoonful disappeared the same way.

She could hear the others talking about matters in the ship, so she continued, watching his mouth closely. She looked after her mechanical scooping stopped bringing anything and shrugged, setting the bowl and spoon down.

  “All done.”

  “You were very neat.”

She met his gaze. “I had a pretty distinctive target.”

He chuckled. “And yet, given the opportunity to have more, you fed me instead.”

“Well, you get hungry.” She put her hand over her mouth as her eyes widened.

His smile was slow. “You are right. I do.”

Kalek turned her back to face the table, and he joined the conversation about procedures and schedules while she sat still on his lap.

She listened to what was going on, and she huffed in frustration.

“What is it, Silhouette?” Yamet asked her with a smile.

“I just wish that I had a map of the ship so I could put some of the locations together in my head.”

Kalek wrapped both his arms around her. “I will get you a map. Later.”

  She shivered. “Why later?”

“Because I don’t want you to leave your position now. Your curves fit me perfectly.”

She didn’t have a response for that. She could definitely feel what was fitting against her right now.

They continued their discussion, and she listened to everything. That is what she did. That was what she always did. She listened and worked things out. It was how she had survived before the asteroid. She made a lot of money per year for just doing what came naturally. Well, she had been making a lot of money per year. Now, she was just doing what it took to get through the day and night. She had food, shelter, clothing, and medical care. Anything else was a bonus.

Sil smiled as she listened to the shop talk and relaxed attitude. Dlafen chuckled when one of the other officers complained about a low-ranking crewmember who had done something stupid on duty. Dlafen explained that he had been distracted by an unusual occurrence.

Towo asked, “What could have distracted him so badly?”

“The captain trying to either terrify or nauseate his new companion with aerial acrobatics.” Dlafen smiled.

Kalek shrugged. “I was excited. You have no idea what it’s like knowing that you are designed to have a mate, but finding one is nearly impossible.”

She blinked. “I thought I was a companion.”

“Hush, Silhouette, the aliens are talking.”

She snapped her mouth shut, and the table burst into laughter. She tried to think if she had said anything and recalled that she had used the words alien planet when talking to the Terrans.

She sighed. “The station was our first experience with other beings from other worlds. Aliens is how we think of you until we adapt and join communities.” She made a face. “This is also why I urged them to break up their groups and go anywhere that would let them work in a position that they were good at. The us against them attitude is not going to be good going forward.”

Yamet nodded. “Sensible, and we have run into it before. It was amusing to hear you reading the riot act to your own people.”

“They can get busy living or start rotting. Their choice.” She shrugged. “I just wanted to make the point.”

Kalek asked her, “What did you decide to do?”

“Oh, I am opting for living. It may be taking on a weird form, but here it is.”

Kalek murmured, “So, I am weird now?”

“You are not usual, and your reactions to things are rather peculiar, so I will stand by my statement.”

“How do you know what is usual for my kind?”

She snorted. “Not unusual for your kind, just unusual for males of my acquaintance. I talk a lot and ask a lot of questions, and you don’t seem to mind.”

“You are acquiring information to make your decisions. Your testing indicated that you are a very talented analyst, and that is what your characteristics indicate. I had already determined as much.”

  “How?”

“Once you are shown something, you gain nearly immediate mastery of it. Physical and procedural. You are very competent.”

  “Um, thank you.”

He chuckled. “It is a compliment. Not every species can render up such skilled personnel.”

She nodded. “Right. Okay. Makes sense. I guess.”

Kalek slid his hand into her skirt again. “You doubt me?”

Her hand snapped down to grip his wrist. “I am not. I am processing information.”

He whispered in her ear, “You deny me?”

“Delaying. They have already seen me go off. I promise it will be much more entertaining if we have some privacy.” She murmured it toward him.

He stood and held her in his arms. “It was lovely seeing you all, and I hope we are now all braced for tomorrow evening.”

The gathering stood and inclined their heads as he walked out with her. She wrinkled her nose. “I was learning a lot.”

He chuckled. “You will have more opportunities to gain their knowledge. For now, I want your full attention.”

Kalek walked toward the access to the oxygen farm, and as he stepped up to jump off the ledge, he kissed her.

Sil was shocked as he kept his lips moving on hers and then his tongue teasing at her. By the time they reached his quarters, her arms were wrapped around his neck, and her pulse was thundering through her.

He set her on the edge of the table and stepped between her thighs. He kissed her neck, and she clutched at his shoulders. She raised her legs and wrapped them around his back, pulling him in. Kalek groaned and chuckled. “Perfect.”

She looked at him, and he met her gaze with his bright and glowing eyes a moment before she felt her clothing start to unravel. It looked like her evening was only getting started.

  Chapter Nine

Silhouette looked into the intensity of his eyes, and she reached up to push his robe off his shoulders. He gripped her hands. “I am going to keep them on. They might slow me down.”

Her eyes widened, and he gathered her skirt to her waist. He looked at her, and she knew she was gleaming and wet. He gathered his own skirt up and out of the way, and then, his cock was nudging at her.

She looked up at him as he forged into her and wasn’t surprised that he was able to make such rapid progress. She had wanted him for hours. His constant teasing had kept her body receptive.

She wrapped her legs around his hips and pulled him toward her. Her top slithered off, and he bent her back over his arm, sucking on her breasts sharply until she started rocking against him.

He went deeper and deeper with every movement, and her climax didn’t wait for him to be fully inside her. She ached, was stretched, and it still wasn’t enough, but her body bucked, and she groaned while she shuddered.

Kalek chuckled. “You didn’t even make a sound.”

Sil blushed. “It caught me by surprise. Everything happened at once.”

He smiled and nuzzled at her breasts, “Speaking of surprises...” He thrust his hips toward her, and she grunted as he went deep, but then... something else was happening.

She tried to look between her thighs, but the fabric they were wearing covered the area where she felt something attaching to her clit.

The squeak of surprise when it made contact and started sucking made her laugh.

“What the hell is that?” She gripped his shoulders as the sensation had her arching against his mouth.

“We are designed with the chance to have a companion and keep them satisfied, but if we cannot find an exact match, we have to work harder, so some of us have...” He paused as he thought of the right word. “Extras.”

Her low moan expressed her opinion of his extras. “You know, I am going to have to examine what is going on at some point.”

He laughed. “My body is at your educational disposal.” He thrust into her.

Sil’s senses were overloading. The sucking on her clit was possibly the most pleasurable and distracting thing she had experienced. He thrust inward, she arched, the tugging on her clit increased, and she whimpered. He added the sucking and abrading at her breasts, and she was rocketing toward climax again.

He lifted his head and brushed his lips against her neck while he began to pound into her. When she gasped and let out a low moan, he bit down on her shoulder and shoved deep as he shuddered, and a groan c
ame from his own throat, via her skin. She felt it throughout her as well as heard it.

The pulses inside her were different, and every time he flexed, she got another wave of pleasure until she was holding onto him with fingers gone numb and her body was humming happily. He released her shoulder and licked at the bite marks.

He lifted his head. “Silhouette, how are you feeling?”

She looked at him with a dazed smile. “Fine. I am fine. Can we do that again?”

He chuckled. “Yes, yes, we can.”

“Good. I think I missed some of the nuances.” She chuckled. “The table is hard. Can we try it up against the wall?”

He blinked and clutched her to him, walking to the wall next to the balcony entrance and thudding her against the wall. She moaned long and low as the excitement generated by the rougher contact set off a new set of aftershocks.

He pinned her arms above her head and teased her breasts while his hips started to move and that contact with her clit began squeezing and sucking again. He shoved his hips into hers rhythmically, slamming her against the wall, and she fought to claw at him as she screamed when she came. He kissed her, nipping at her lips and groaning as he pinned her against the wall, and his hips lifted her and held her in place. She shivered as her body enjoyed the sexy ache a little more than she would normally admit. Sil actually loved feeling a lover, instead of everything just being light caresses and surface motion. That was for foreplay or cuddling.

He lifted his head and looked at her ruefully. “You prefer things harder?”

  “Yes.”

  “Why didn’t you tell me?”

“You didn’t ask. I guessed you would figure it out, and you did.” She grinned. “Good Captain.”

He growled and took her throat with his teeth. She arched back, and her breathing went shallow. He pulled nearly out of her, and then, he slid in hard and fast. She moaned and fought the grip he still had on her arms. He released her neck and pounded into her, using his free hand to grip her hip and control how much she could thrust in return. She mewled, and the grip on her clit took up a rapid pulse, and she was trapped in an orgasm that wouldn’t stop as he kept driving into her, and she was stuck feeling. She felt the aching width of him, the strange contact that was sucking on her, the silk trapped between them, the rub of his chest across her breasts, and the tingle of the bite marks. The scent of sex was heavy around them, and the slapping of his body against hers all added into a sensory overload. She gasped when the tension inside her snapped, and then, she went limp.
