The Tattooed Bad Boy Page 15

He'll end up killing people again.

I blinked and took a deep breath. This is it then. I am going to get Hunter out of this; even if it means killing people. I am willing to sacrifice that if it makes Hunter become a good person again. If it makes Hunter never kill again.

Suddenly my phone started ringing and I looked at the caller ID. "Hunter..." I breathed out and he looked at me.

  "What?" he asked.

"Dylan..." I showed him the caller ID.

Hunter looked at me. "Tell him everything." Hunter said.

  "What?" I gasped.

Hunter didn't want anyone to know about Blaze, nor did he want anyone to know about Zachariah. Why would he want me to tell Dylan everything?

"Look, I trust him, okay? It's because of Dylan we made it alive from Tony." he looked at me and then back at the road. "Zoe, we need Dylan's help. Not for me, but for you."

"I'm not a little kid, Hunter." I said slightly annoyed by what he just said.

"I know, Zoe. But understand. By the time we teach you how to defend yourself, we will need someone to keep you safe while I'm not around." he said, hoping he wouldn't offend me.

I sighed and picked up. "Dylan?"

"Zoe? Where the fuck are you!? I just walked into your house and everything is fucking all over the place!" he breathed out, frustrated.

"We're moving." I said bluntly, still annoyed by what Hunter said.

"What!? You can't just fucking leave me! Who the fuck am I supposed to talk to and be afraid of then!? Get your fucking ass back over here!" he yelled over the phone and I giggled.

"Idiot, we're moving to Florida. And I wanted to ask you if you wanted to be here with us.." I said nervously.

"Florida..." he breathed out. "Yeah... Sure." he said shortly. "I'll be there in a few days then..." he said and I smiled.

"Thank you so much, Dylan." I said gratefully.

  "Anything for you guys, Zoe."

"So this is it?" I threw myself on the bed.

After hours of flying, we finally made it into our new apartment. I was very tired to be honest. Hunter managed to cheer me up, but I was still shocked at the fact that he had killed Zachariah's son. I didn't know what to think of this whole situation now. Everything was just all over the place.

"We can't escape from Zachariah, Zoe." he sighed. "He will know where we are. I just brought you here, so we could buy ourselves some time and teach you how to defend yourself. Zachariah can be here anytime. We have ourselves longer than a week until he finds out where we are. Until then, you can get yourself some moves." he winked at me, making me roll my eyes.

"Okay then." I said and just stared at him as he lay down next to me.

He moved a strand of hair from my face and pressed his lips against mine, kissing me lightly before pulling away. I opened my eyes and looked at his beautiful face. He grinned and kissed me again, but this time it was more passionate.

I seriously think that I am in love with Hunter Adams.

  ∞∞∞

"No, Dylan, you fucking idiot!" Hunter rolled his eyes at him.

I laughed as I looked at Hunter and then at the laptop screen. We were video calling with Dylan, and he was doing the most stupid things that were probably written in history. Just this morning I received a call from Dylan, saying that he wanted to see us, so I suggested video calling and I couldn't see a more cheerful Dylan.

"Zoe, Zoe, Zoe, Zoe, Zoe!" he kept calling my name and I looked at him.

"Yes, Dylan?" I raised my eyebrows and he grinned widely.

"You look creepy." he said and I glared at him.

"No fucking shit, Dylan." I scoffed. "Every fucking girl will look this creepy if she was forced to wake up around six A.M and didn't have the chance to fucking shower or even brush her hair." I said the whole sentence in one breath.

Dylan looked at me with wide eyes and showed me the Starbucks coffee that appeared out of nowhere. "Would you like some coffee?" he asked with a bright smile.

"I swear, this cheerful motherfucker will make me sick." Hunter rolled his eyes for the hundredth time.

Dylan frowned at first, but when he understood what Hunter said, he glared at us. "Shut the fuck up. I'm seeing Zoe after two fucking days." he scoffed.

"Bitch, you'll be here tomorrow." Hunter shot him a flat look and Dylan just stared at the screen like a retarded seal.

  "So?" he raised an eyebrow.

Hunter sighed, annoyed and stood up. "I give up." he said in a loud voice, making me laugh. "I give up on this fucking world."

"Stop being a drama queen, Hunter." Dylan rolled his eyes as he drank some of his coffee.

"How about you fucking off?" Hunter breathed out. "Please?"

"I swear," I interrupted them. "You and Dylan act like a married couple."

Dylan gasped dramatically. "Well, thank you so much for stating the obvious." he said and I started laughing so hard.

"Dylan, you son of a—" but Hunter was cut off by Dylan his door opening, and someone shouting in the background.

"Dylan, you fucking retarded son of a bitch," we heard a man's voice. "Get your good for nothing's ass over here and help me finish this paperwork!" the voice got louder by every word that was heard.

Dylan sighed. "I'll be there..." he said in a sad voice.

"Dylan, what happened?" I asked after hearing his bedroom door close again.

Dylan shot me a weak smile. "Don't worry about it, Zoe." he once again drank a bit of his coffee, but this time very much less cheerful than he was before. "I'm sorry you guys had to hear all of that." he smiled.

"Dylan," Hunter sat down next to me with a frown. "What's going on there?"

  "Nothing, Hunter—"

"Get down here, you fucking faggot!" the voice cut Dylan off.

"You guys don't worry. We'll talk later. Bye guys." he smiled and hung up before we could even say bye.

I looked at Hunter and Hunter looked at me. What just happened? One moment we were all cheerful and happy, insulting each other, and laughing our asses off, and then suddenly this voice is heard out of nowhere and insults the fuck out of Dylan, ending all the happiness in just the snap of a finger. I can still see Dylan's face that was plastered with pain in front of me. It's like nothing was the same anymore.

"What just happened...?" Hunter said with a hint of shock in his voice.

"I don't know." I said, still not being able to process it. "I guess we'll just find out tomorrow."

Hunter sighed and lay down on the couch, resting his head on my lap. Something he does very often. I closed the laptop and sighed as I started playing with his fluffy hair that was all over the place. It's like we weren't in the mood to do anything anymore. I wonder who that was. Was it Dylan's father that was saying all kinds of horrible things to him?

To be honest, I was getting really worried about Dylan now. He didn't do anything to deserve that. The words rang through my head again. "Get down here, you fucking faggot." How can you even say that to someone? Especially someone like Dylan? I sighed and looked at Hunter, whose eyes were closed, and he was soundly asleep. I continued playing with his hair as I looked out of the huge glass window in front of me. It was still a bit dark, but the sun was rising already. I sighed and as I started feeling sleepy, I closed my eyes, waiting to fall asleep.

  ∞∞∞

I woke up as the sun shone in my face. I looked at the clock and realized it was twelve already. I sighed and looked at Hunter, who was still sleeping. I smiled and left him like that. He needed some sleep. After Blaze passed away, he didn't have a good night sleep, so it would be better to just let him finally rest. He's had a tough week. And so did I.

I carefully got off the couch, trying not to wake Hunter up. Once I successfully stood there without waking him up, I walked into the bathroom and tied my hair into a bun. I then started brushing my teeth, and as I stared at myself into the mirror, I realized how much better I looked compared to how I looked three days ago. I si
ghed and continued brushing my teeth. I just hope that Hunter starts feeling better.

After brushing my teeth, I washed my mouth and wiped my face with a towel. I walked out of the bathroom, back into the living room. Hunter was still sleeping. I smiled and decided to make breakfast for when he wakes up. I grabbed my phone and walked into the kitchen. I unlocked my phone and saw that I had received a message. I frowned and checked who it was. As soon as I saw whose message it was, I felt myself getting nervous. I tapped on the unread message and gulped. This is bad.

Hello, my rebellious little Angel. I am so excited to say that you will see me soon, and we'll be a happy family again. I will find you, Zoe. And what is mine, stays mine. -Tony.

  Chapter Twenty-Seven

"Dylan!" I shouted and ran over to Dylan to hug him.

Dylan laughed as he hugged me back. I was happy to finally see him again. I seriously really missed this guy. Dylan placed his bag on the floor and we pulled away, one of his arms still around my waist. Dylan looked at Hunter with the usual annoyingly adorable smile he always has on his face, making Hunter roll his eyes. Hunter shot Dylan a glaring look, and we frowned for a second before we heard Hunter say,

"That's my girlfriend." he raised his eyebrows. Dylan looked at his arm around my waist and quickly let go.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know I wasn't allowed to touch my own best friend." Dylan said in a sarcastic tone, making me chuckle.

I loved watching and listening these two argue over nothing at all. We can literally just talk about something stupid like pickles, and they'll start fighting over that. I shook my head and Hunter looked at me.

"Seriously, how did you find this idiot?" he shot me a flat look.

I looked at Dylan and he sighed in annoyance. "How are you even dating this idiot?"

"Well," I started. "Idiot girl has idiot boyfriend and idiot best friend." I said and they both frowned.

"You really are mental." Hunter breathed out and I thought of the day he carried me out of math class.

"Well, and you're still dating her." Dylan said. "That makes you even more mental." he said and I frowned now.

"Wait, does that mean that both of you are more mental than I am?" I asked with a frown.

"No!" they both said in a louder voice.

"Then what the fuck are you bitches talking about?" I started getting more confused. "You know, if I stay here longer, you guys will make me go crazy." I breathed out and they started laughing.

"You already are, stupid." Dylan laughed, making me roll my eyes.

But I started laughing too after a while. Yep, we were just standing in our apartment, laughing like fucking retards. I shook my head and waited for everyone to simmer down. I showed Dylan his room, expecting him to unpack his stuff, but no, he just threw it on the bed and then walked out of the room again. I chuckled and we walked towards Hunter again. Hunter was on his phone, which me frown. The same Hunter who told me not to use my phone to call, is now talking to someone on the phone. I placed my hands on my hips and raised my eyebrow at him.

"I'll call you back." he said and ended the call, smiling at me. "I have to go somewhere, I'll be back soon." he kissed my forehead.

"Huh?" I frowned and he sighed.

"I'll be back soon, Zoe." he said, leaving no space for a argument.

It was in a cold voice. A cold voice that hurt. I actually didn't expect Hunter his mood to change like that. I didn't say anything. I just nodded and walked away from there. I heard Hunter sigh as I walked away, but I didn't bother looking back. It's funny how small actions hurt like that. How sensitive can you be, Zoe?

I hated being this sensitive. It was just a sentence. They were just a few words. Why am I this hurt about it? Why do I have to be so weak? I just tried shaking the thoughts away. I walked into our room and locked the door. Then, I walked over to the bed and lay down, resting my head on the pillow, staring at nothing at all. Why do I have to be so complicated. Why do I have to be so weak? No wonder Tony saw me as an easy victim. I don't even know how to defend myself. I'm just a coward.

  Just a coward.

  ∞∞∞

"Zoe!" I heard someone shouting my name as they banged on the door.

I quickly shot up, falling from the bed, and landing straight on my butt. I groaned in pain and lazily got up. I don't even remember falling asleep. How did I even fall asleep? When did I fall asleep? How long was I asleep? I licked my lips and walked over to the door, realizing that it was locked. When did I even lock the door?

That's when I remembered my stupidity before falling asleep. I sighed and opened the door, just to see Dylan and Hunter with their leg up, just staring at me with wide eyes.

"The fuck?" I blurted and Hunter and Dylan looked at each other, lowering their leg. "What the fuck?"

"We were going to break down the door." Dylan looked at the floor.

"What the fuck!? Why?" I looked at them as if they were stupid.

"We thought something happened to you." Dylan said.

"I was asleep." I said in a louder voice and they both looked at me sheepishly.

I rolled my eyes and just walked away from there. I walked into the kitchen and opened the fridge. As I took a bottle of water out of the fridge, I heard footsteps behind me and out of reflex, I threw the bottle on the person, hitting him on the head.

"What the fuck, Zoe!" I heard Hunter shout.

"Oh, it's you." I rolled my eyes and turned back around.

"That ass though." Hunter said and I clenched my jaw. Yes, I was still annoyed at what he did earlier. I still think that he shouldn't have done that. I felt his arm wrap around my waist and his lips planted a kiss on my cheek. "I'm sorry about earlier..."

I looked at him. "Fuck you." I said and closed the fridge. Why was I even this mad?

I walked out of the kitchen and walked towards Dylan and sat down on the couch next to him. It was nine PM already, and I was shocked that I slept for nearly six hours. Hunter sat next to me and threw his arm over my shoulder. I didn't say anything. I just looked at him, and then back to the television. Dylan was also still a bit awkward with me since the whole breaking my door incident, but obviously, he was forgiven. He did it because he and Hunter got worried, so it's okay.

Hunter rested his chin on my shoulder. "I'm sorry, baby."

I glared at him. "Save it, Hunter. I don't really want to talk about that. Stop apologizing. I'm not mad at you, just a bit annoyed." I said.

"Yeah, cause you're stupid." Dylan slapped Hunter his forehead, making me laugh.

  "Bitch." Hunter glared at Dylan.

  "Whore." Dylan clenched his jaw.

  "Fucker." Hunter argued.

  "Asshole." Dylan glared.

"Guys!!" I shouted. "I'm right in the fucking middle."

"Sorry." they both said at the same time and I smiled.

"You guys are idiots." I laughed and looked at the television.

There was nothing really good on TV, so we decided that we would play a movie. Obviously Dylan and I went for Lion King, while Hunter wanted to watch something creepy. Dylan and I looked at each other and grinned.
