Cobra knew the man too, he smiled and crossed his arms over his chest.
Gunner reared back his arm and let his punch fly. His fist hit Randy’s nose and everyone around them heard the bones smash.
Blood flew everywhere and Randy’s eyes rolled back into his head. His body sagged but Gunner’s men held him up.
Boone handed Gunner a cold beer.
Everyone stared at him, expecting him to maybe drink a toast or something, instead Gunner tossed the cold liquid into Randy’s face.
Randy woke slowly still stunned by the punch. He spluttered with the beer on his cut lips as he gasped and took a deep breath. “What the fuck? Are you trying to kill me?”
“The thought did cross my mind.” Gunner glared at him. “Seven years ago, you damned near killed me and one of my men. You did kill one of us in that fucking ambush and you stole over fifty thousand dollars from us. So yeah, it wouldn’t hurt my fucking feelings one little bit to beat you to death.”
Randy began to tremble slightly. He thought he’d gotten clean away with that robbery, as he never expected any of the men to survive. He had recognized the vest of the two men who had come after him. He walked off his job to avoid them but they followed him and cornered him in the ally.
Now he was here and his position had gone from bad to worse. Looking around the room, he saw the faces of the men surrounding him. Then he saw the two women standing with a group of men off to one side. He frowned and thought they reminded him of someone. The younger one looked pretty bruised up and was being held up partially by the other one. Both of them looked as though even being in the same room as he was soured their stomachs.
Both women had black hair, one hair was cut really short while the other had long hair. The long haired woman had tattoos covering her arms and he sneered at the sight of the ink. Both women looked at him like he was dirt under their shoes. How dare they judge him, they didn’t even know him.
Then he looked at the short haired woman and he could see the hate in her eyes as she glared at him. He studied her eyes and something clicked. He’d seen those angry hate filled eyes before. His eyes widened as he realized who these women were. He snapped his head over to Gunner and snarled, “What the fuck are they doing here? Are they club whores now?”
“Watch your fucking mouth, you lousy bastard.” Gunner growled.
“Why should I?” He sneered. “They’re taking right after their mother. She was a whore as well.” He sneered at his daughters. Shaking his head, he looked back at Gunner. “I never took you for a beater. Thought you always felt you were a better man than to beat on a woman.” He smirked, “That’s my Ava Jane though, she never could keep her big mouth shut, always talking back when she should just shut the fuck up and know her place.”
This time, the strike came without warning. Pain exploded in his head and face as Randy dropped to the ground in a heap. The force of the hit almost took off his jaw this time.
Another man now, had a gleam of satisfaction in his eyes from hearing the crack of his jaw.
Randy stared up at this stranger who just took a punch at him.
The large man stared down at him. “You got a lot more coming, you sonofabitch.”
Randy’s eyes widened as he recognized this man... Tate Young. “Oh, fuck...” he muttered as blood seeped from his lips.
“Oh fuck is right.” Tate glared down at him. “You got a lot of sins piled up and now, it is time to fucking pay up.”
Glaring down at the heap on the floor, Gunner ordered his men, “Chain that fucker up and don’t be gentle.” He turned and walked over to the bar. He poured himself a shot of Black Velvet and when Tate joined him, he poured the other man a shot. He lifted his glass, saluted Tate and slammed down the liquor.
Tate tipped his glass down as well.
Becky joined them. She wrapped her arms around Gunner and hugged him for a moment, kissing his cheek. Next, she did the same with Tate. When she stepped back she whispered, “Thank you. The both of you.” Then she turned, walking back to where Annie and Harry were standing.
Gunner looked over at Tate and nodded. “And that makes it all worthwhile doesn’t it?”
“It sure does,” Tate agreed.
Cobra came over and joined them.
Gunner slid a shot of whiskey over to him.
“So now what?” Cobra asked. “We got the bad guys, where do we go from here?”
Gunner shrugged. “I’m not so sure we’re done here yet. I have a feeling we’re still missing something.”
“What are you going to do with Yeta and Yvette?” Tate wanted to know.
“Part of me wants to make them bleed so bad. Just put a bullet in their heads and be done with it. They have brought nothing but misery to this club and so many other people. They deserve nothing less than death but that would be the easy way out for them.” He ran his fingers through his hair. “But we aren’t killers. And then another part of me wants to send them to jail so they can think about what they did but I doubt it would do them any good. They have no conscious, no soul, so being there won’t matter to them anyway.” Gunner looked over at Yeta. “Your man shot and killed his son. In self-defense granted but that old bastard won’t care about that. If we send him to jail, he might not stay there and then he would come after you and your man.”
Cobra agreed, “That man is crazy, pure loco. I didn’t even know he had kids.”
Creed joined then and suggested, “Dad, twins very often have twins. What happens if there’s another one out there?”
“Well, I guess we’ll cross that bridge when and if we come to it,” Tate told him.
“I think we have to at least consider it.” Creed shook his head. “At least we should see if Annie and Harry can find anything. The more we know the better off we are.”
Tate nodded at Creed. “See what they can find out.”
Chapter Twelve
Creed moved over to where Harry and Annie were standing. “Hey, Gunner and Tate need to know if Yeta has any kids. Ones maybe old enough to do some harm. I suggested that twins run in families sooo.”
Annie shuddered. “To think there could be more of them out there? Younger versions of the same nasty?”
Harry nodded. “It is something that could keep a person awake at night all right.”
Annie went over to her laptop and sat down. Typing in commands, she zipped around the web and found what they needed to know.
Before she could print out the page however, the air around the clubhouse exploded in a blaze of fire. Screams and running feet added to the chaos but for the next twenty minutes or so, no one knew who was out there waiting for them.
The fire eventually died down and it was at that point someone from the outside yelled, “Send out my father.”
They all looked at each other in the clubhouse.
“So he did have another spawn,” Creed concluded.
“Go to hell!” Gunner shouted back.
“You already killed my brother,” the man called back. “And for that, you’ll burn. Send out my father!”
Moose and Gypsy moved toward the stairs to the roof. They grabbed their rifles on the way up.
Creed stepped over to where Yeta was still chained and held a knife to his throat. “I suggest if you want to keep breathing, you don’t say a word.” He snarled.
Yeta glared at him but didn’t say anything. Then he whispered, “You are all dead men. My son will burn this place to the ground.”
Cobra glared at him. “Then you and your sister will burn too. Hell will welcome the pair of you and when we find your son, he’ll join you in the flames of hell.” He smiled wickedly. “Unless we get him first, then he’ll be waiting for you and his aunt.”
Yeta glared his hatred at the other man. Then he screamed something in Russian and leaned into the blade at his throat.
Cobra jerked the blade away from the other man’s throat so the cut didn’t go in deep but Yeta’s skin was broke and blood flooded down his chest. Altho
ugh he was wounded, the wound itself wasn’t life threatening.
Yeta couldn’t grab his throat so the blood ran freely. “You should have killed me because now, we’ll all die.”
“Not if he dies first,” Cobra told him.
Patriot joined them and took a look at the cut on Yeta’s throat. He cleaned it and wrapped it.
Tate and Gunner along with Boone and Thor joined Harry and Annie.
“What the fuck is going on here?” Gunner growled.
“Yeta had a second son. I just found him in my research,” Annie said. “I also found something else. Yeta and Yvette have a contract out on them. They have kept themselves out of sight for a reason. The real Vory V Zakone has been looking for them for four years. They kidnapped the leader’s kid and literally murdered him for no reason. The stupid thing was they actually thought they could get away with it. Yeta and Yvette believed that no one could touch them.”
Gunner thought for a moment then looked over at Tate. “We may not be murderers but from what I understand, the Vory V Zakone are, or at least in this instance they could be.”
“And I know a way we can contract them,” Tate insisted.
“Talk about poetic justice.” Cobra shook his head.
Gunner walked over to where Yeta was chained. Kneeling down beside the other man, he spoke in a low tone, “Well, old man you will finally reap what you sow. You won’t die here.” Then he smiled. “We’re turning you and Yvette over to the real Vory V Zakone. I hear they’ve been looking for you two for a while now and I think it’s a fitting end.”
Yeta began to sweat. “I’d rather die by your hand.”
“Tough shit, my friend.” Gunner scoffed. “You and your sister so deserve what’s coming your way.”
Suddenly, the evening air was disturbed by the sound of gunfire. Three shots rang out then there was silence.
Yeta closed his eyes and hung his head. “Damn you all to hell.”
“You be sure and save us a seat.” Gunner glared at him.
Moose came back in. “Prez, we think we wounded him, but we lost him.”
Gunner stared at him and let out a sigh. The man could come back again, if he was allowed to.
“Gypsy and Jett took off after him though,” Moose added and he wore a hint of a smile.
Gunner nodded, as he felt a bit better at this news. “Gypsy is my best tracker.”
“And there ain’t no one that Jett can’t find,” Cobra added.
Gunner looked over at a grinning Yeta. “Don’t smile yet fucker. You don’t know my man. He’ll call me when he finds him.” He stared into his eyes. “And he will find him.”
Gunner got to his feet and walked back to Harry and the others. He looked at Tate and said, “Make the call to those Vory fuckers. I want them both out of here.”
Tate nodded and reached for his cell.
The man Gypsy was after didn’t see the bikes trailing him. Not even for five miles. He drove a small car and seemed to weave in and out of traffic a lot.
Finally, he turned off the freeway and went down a county road to a wooded area.
Gypsy and Jett watched from the woods now as they noted the place where Yeta’s son had just entered. He thought he could just shoot up the fucking compound then crawl back to his cave and plan to do it all over again? Gypsy glared at the building then made the call to Gunner and spoke quietly. He then looked over at Jett as he nodded.
“So what did Gunner want to do with this idiot?” Jett asked.
“He said to take him alive but if he got a few bruises, he didn’t care. What does that tell you?”
Jett grinned as he glanced at the house. “Let’s rock n roll then.”
Gypsy was smiling as they all started toward the house. “Jett, you go through the front door. Me and Moose will come through the back in case he tries to leave before we get the chance to meet him.”
Jett walked to the house and disappeared inside.
Gypsy went around back with Moose.
Moose took out his kit. The lock that secured the door was a common padlock and Moose had no problem unlocking it. The door squeaked loudly as it opened under his hand.
As Gypsy stepped through the portal, he checked the neighborhood again. Pulling the door shut behind him, he paused as his eyes adjusted to the dimness of the interior.
The main floor of the house was an open design. The windows were smeared with something to block out the light and to obscure anyone from peeking inside. There was some furniture but whatever it was, was covered by oversized tarps. The tarps were covered in dust.
Gypsy began searching the lower level by keeping his back to the outside of the room. His gun was drawn as he searched the room. When he came to a door, he tried the handle and when it turned under his hand, he ducked quietly into a second room. This room seemed tidy and clean. He saw a table with a computer set up and a phone/fax machine. He also noted another door on the other side of the room. Carefully making his way to the other door, he opened it. His eyes moved swiftly over the room but didn’t find anything out of order. The room was small, possibly eight feet by twelve feet. There was a long counter along one side. He wondered if this had been where all three men had been hiding. The two sons and Yeta.
When Gypsy came in further past the kitchen, Jett was standing at the door to the basement.
Jett motioned that this was where Yeta’s son was.
Gypsy nodded and opened the door to the basement. Taking one step at a time, he made his way down. Moose followed with his gun drawn as well. Gypsy motioned for him to go left and he stepped off to the right.
Making his way around the corner, Gypsy found himself in a finished basement room. There was a big screen television, a sofa and a couple of easy chairs. In the dim lighting, he couldn’t see anything out of place. He stepped a little further into the room. That’s when he noticed the scent permeating the room. It smelled like blood. He went back to the stairs and turned on the lights.
When the lights came on, Gypsy could see a trail of blood. It ended at the couch. “Take cover!” Gypsy yelled at the other two men just as bullets pelted the walls where they were just standing.
Chapter Thirteen
Annie looked at Harry and then at Gunner. “What are you going to do with my dad?”
Gunner glanced at both of them. “I can’t let him go.”
“And I don’t want you to,” Annie stated. “I would never ask that of you or anyone. He’s a miserable excuse for a human being and he needs to be stopped. I wish he could feel the misery he’s projected on others but I know that’s impossible. You can’t make up for a lifetime of treating people like dog crap under your shoes.”
“He’ll receive MC justice at any rate and that’s all we can expect.” Becky added. “At least, he’ll know some of our pain.”
Boone looked over at Gunner and suggested, “Maybe the man could use a little time in solitary. What do you think?”
“I think maybe you’re right.” Gunner nodded.
Tate rejoined the group and looked over at Gunner. “They are indeed very interested in the Kobanash twins. They will arrive within the hour to pick them up.”
“Good. We’ll just move Randy to Solitary then.” Gunner nodded at his men.
Boone and Thor broke away to move the other man.
Randy fought back and appealed to his daughters. “Rainy, you can’t let them do this. Ava Jane, help me!”
Annie just glared at her dad. “The day you walked away from us and left us to the mercy of the cartel was the day you no longer were our father. He died that day for us. You are nothing to us and you haven’t been for some time.” She paused then added, “Oh, by the way, the Horsemen and the cartel know you’re here. I returned what you took from them and I believe they want their money back.” She looked at the men standing around her. “But I think these men want you more.”
Randy began struggling. “You bastards you can’t do this to me!”
Annie and Becky watched as Boon
e and Thor led their dad away. Then Annie wrapped her arms around her sister and held the sobbing girl. Harry wrapped his arms around both of them.
Gunner’s phone rang. He swiped the screen. “Gunner,” he replied. He listened for a couple of minutes.
Everyone in the room waited in a tense silence to hear news about Yeta’s son. If he wasn’t stopped, they would all have to keep looking over their shoulders.
“Damn. Well, bring him back and we’ll have Patriot look him over.” Gunner hung up and stared at everyone in the room. “They got him, but not without a firefight.”
The brothers all gathered close as everyone grew quiet.
Gunner looked around as he spoke, “Moose got hit in the shoulder, but Gypsy says it’s not a mortal wound. Seems Yeta’s kid was already dying from the wound he got while he was here but he wanted to take my men with him. Jett put a bullet between his eyes.”
Annie let her shoulders drop at this news. “Thank god!”
Gunner then grinned. “I think I’ll just go and tell Yeta the news.” He turned to leave the room.
Looking over at Gunner Harry asked, “Do you have a room for Becky? I need to get Annie settled in our room. They’ve had enough and they both need to rest.”
Gunner turned back around and found Rigger watching them. “Rig, take them to one of the rooms. He’s right, they don’t need to be here anymore.”
Rigger showed them to a room.
Becky went over to the bed and laid down. She groaned and closed her eyes. Within minutes, she was sound asleep.
Annie nodded and went out with Harry.
He closed the door quietly as they made their way down the hall.
When Harry opened the door, Annie went over to the window and looked out into the darkening back yard. Harry came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist. Neither of them spoke for a moment then Annie said, “Well, this has been a good trip and a bad trip all in one huh?”
“I guess.”
She stared outside. “I found my sister and settled my past all at once. So that’s a good thing.” She shook her head. “I can’t believe he’s such a bastard.”
