  He’s not wrong y’all. ~Nay

Nikki: That’s not the point. He still shouldn’t have called you out like that. I’m sure his ass ain’t hitting it like he did before the kids.

No, but he’s not far off. Even though it’s true and it stings, I feel like shit for not recognizing he was trying to do something nice for us. ~Nay

  Tina: Damn nice

  Judah: Fuck nice!

Why do I regret telling y’all this? I’ma go talk to him. ~Nay

Judah: This why I been off dick since the 90s. The nigga cussed you out and disparaged your pussy and you’re the one apologizing? No. Not. Never. Goodnight.

Nikki: Yeah, I gotta go girl. I need to get dressed.

Tina: Well I’m not going anywhere, and your ass better not apologize. He shouldn’t have spoken to you that way.

I’ve said worse to him. ~Nay

Tina: And we’re not talking about that.

I’m talking about it. I’ma go at least apologize for ruining our night. ~Nay

  Tina: Suit yourself.

I put my phone down and trekked to the living room to smooth things over. The room was pitch black when I called his name. A groggy voice answered.

  “What’s up?”

“I just wanted to apologize. I didn’t mean to ruin our night.”

  “Ok.”

The energy in the room got heavy around us. Me, not sure what to say and him still apparently annoyed. I took in a deep breath and bid him good night again, without a word from him.

“You’ve got flowers.” Ben stood at the door to my office with a small bouquet.

“I’m sure I don’t. Check the card again.”

“I’m as surprised as you are, but they’re for you.”

I’d been at Hampshire & White for 12 years and had never gotten flowers. Ben had been here just as long, so he knew this was an anomaly.

“Did you send these to Naomi and they swapped the return with the mailing address?”

He didn’t know it, but I didn’t send Nay flowers. That was a first too. She’d gotten some kind of delivery from me every year on Valentine’s Day...except this year. I grabbed the bouquet and read the card which made no sense at all.

Meet me at Azaria’s on 9th at 7pm.

The kids had stuff tonight. No way we could chauffeur them and be at Azaria’s for dinner. I called her to see why she sent these flowers and to make sure she was still picking Jr. up for soccer.

“Hey handsome.” I searched the ceiling not ready to forgive her yet, no matter how much she flattered me.

“What are the flowers about Nay?”

  “I’m back to Nay?”

I wasn’t interested in playing this game with her. “No. Are you still taking Jr.. to soccer?”

“No and you’re not taking Joey to tutoring. Sherri agreed to keep the kids again.”

“Why? He has a math test next Tuesday and Jr. has a game Saturday. Let me call her and—”

“She and Barry are going to take them. It’ll be fine. I explained that last night didn’t quite go the way you planned, and I wanted to give you a do-over.”

  “Naomi, we don’t need—”

“Don’t make me beg, Sam.” There was a warning in her tone. A small one. The rest of it was contrite desperation. The kind I only heard when she knew she’d fucked up.

  “I’ll be there.”

“Ok, good.” She perked up considerably. “7 p.m. sharp.”

She was late. Really late. Forty-five minutes late. I stood to leave my stool when I saw thick legs rushing toward the bar in platform knee-high boots. The very same boots she’d worn in our bed on more than one occasion. Her black leggings swished between her thighs and a hunter green jacket framed her cantaloupe-sized breasts perfectly. She looked good as fuck. I wanted those legs around my head with those heels swinging in the air. Even when I was mad at her ass, I couldn’t stay mad ‘cause she did shit like this.

I sat down again, careful to feel for my stool so I didn’t end up on my ass and got the bartender’s attention. I needed another drink. I started to order one for her, but she took a seat at the other end of the bar, ordered for herself, and took a few sips before acknowledging me.

  “You waiting on someone?”

“I was, but I’m about to leave. She’s forty-five minutes late.”

“She must have had something serious happen if she left you sitting here.”

“Yeah well it’s been happening a lot lately. I’m getting used to it.”

I signaled for the bill, prepared to leave her there, but she told the bartender to put my drink near hers. The $20 she left on the bar was motivation enough for the guy to comply.

  “I’m ready to go—”

“Naomi.” She interrupted. “I’m Naomi and I’m sorry your date was late.” Her eyes pleaded for me to play along and as sick as I was of playing second fiddle to everything else in her life, I loved her. Warts and all. “How was your day?” She continued as I took a seat.

“Aside from thinking I was stood-up, it was pretty good.”

“All is well in the world of government contracting?” She asked.

“All is well.” She raised her glass and I clinked it with mine.

“So about being stood-up, do you really think she would do that?”

“In the beginning, never. But these last couple years she’s been slipping.”

“How so?” She didn’t keep my eyes. Her focus was on swirling the straw around in her drink.

“I don’t want to talk about—”

“We need to...I mean...I’m guessing y’all need to. If you’re feeling like things aren’t working, she should know.”

“It’s not that bad. It’s just...she gives her energy to everyone but me. I get the leftovers and I love her, but it—” I had her eyes now. “It needs to change.”

“She can change... I mean...what’s she like? I could probably tell you if she’d be open to change.”

“Uh...well...she’s smart. Brilliant actually. She’s a lawyer. Could be making a lot more money but chose to be a public defender. And she’s funny. She’s always saying some shit that makes me laugh. Like we were watching this documentary one time about a priest doing an exorcism and the dude who was possessed was growling and spitting and making these weird ass faces and out of nowhere she goes “Hmph...that nigga faking. Don’t nobody possessed by demons really act like that.” It was so random, and she said it with so much conviction. I don’t know, it was funny at the time. She just always thinks of some weird shit to say that throws me off. I like it.”

“She sounds nice.” I could tell hearing me talk about her like that sparked a glimmer of hope. The lift in her mood was contagious.

“She is nice. She’s a great mother too.”

  “How many do you have?”

“A son, a monster, and a daughter.” We laughed at that reference to Joey telling us he was a monster-human hybrid after watching some video about hybrid animals. “She’s great with them. Attentive, firm, playful and when she doesn’t have the energy for all that, she tells them and they...get it. She talks to them in a real way, a way they understand. And what’s crazy is she didn’t grow up like that. She had a hellish childhood but somehow gives our kids the best.”

Her chin was in the palm of her hand as she listened until I said that part. Now, she was staring at her drink again, sniffing hard to hold back tears. “There’s just one problem.” I added and she raised her head to look over at me. “She got comfortable in the bedroom.” The tears were gone, and she was rolling her eyes at me taking a hard left in our conversation. “She used to blow my mind on the regular. It’s been so long since she did that I’m beginning to wonder if she still can.”

“If that’s your only complaint, I’d say you’ve got it pretty good.”

“That’s ‘cause she underestimates how important sex is to me.”

“And all trash ass men.” She rolled her eyes hard.

  “N
ow you sound like her.” I laughed, bumping her lightly.

“I like sex with her because it’s good, but also because it’s when I get her undivided attention. Or used to. I know she’s super mom and super lawyer and super everything else. And I’m ok with that. But in bed it’s just be and her.”

  “Fucking is not connecting, Sam.”

“No, but we talk after and I hold her after. And we fall asleep with the tv watching us after we’ve confided in each other. The sex was great don’t get me wrong, but after it, I’m vulnerable and so is she…when we do it right. When we don’t, it’s rushed and she’s asleep damn near before it’s over and I’m left lying there wondering what’s on her mind and what happened to make her close up on me.”

  “Oh.”

“Yeah…it’s all good though.” I covered, seeing how somber the mood had gotten.

“It can’t be. Not if you’re not getting that from her anymore.”

“I think she’ll make some time for us in the near future. I have faith in her.”

She smiled and it was genuine and beautiful, and I didn’t even try to hide my smile back. The bartender broke our gooey moment with a new bill, and I patted my pockets for my wallet to pay it.

“Nope. It’s on me.” She covered my hand with hers and placed a credit card on the narrow slip of paper. “So um...take me home?” She asked, biting the corner of her lip. I knew where this was going, and I was oh so glad.

“Sorry to disappoint, Miss, but I’m a happily married man. Wait, hold up— my wife used to do this thing with her tongue when she sucked my dick. If you can do something similar, I’ll take you home.”

“If you coach me, I think I can figure it out.”

“And what about bills? I’m paying for daycare and private school for three. You good with helping out? Maybe I can introduce you two and we could do a sister-wife thing, maybe more than one. You got any friends as fine as you? Actually, her friend Judah is fine as hell and she already like pussy so—”

“That’s enough,” she warned. “Get your ass in the car.” I busted out laughing as I followed her to my truck.

“And I’ma tell Judah you want her to be my sister-wife.” I opened the door for her, and she used one shapely leg after the other to slide into our Suburban.

“Shit, tell her. I know her ass got money.”

“Drive, Asshole.” She teased, as I got in the car.

We rode in silence through the crowded city streets. She didn’t open her mouth until we hit the suburbs.

“Did you mean all that stuff you said?”

“What stuff?” She elbowed me, then her serious expression caught my eye. “Of course I did.”

“No, not about the mom and lawyer stuff. The stuff about why you like sex with me.”

  “I meant that the most.”

“Hmmm.” She sat back and looked out the window.

A few beats later she yelled: “Stop right here!” We neared the empty parking lot of a senior center.

  “Here? Why?”

“Just stop. Pull beside that clothes donation shed.”

I stopped and grew more confused when she jumped out of the car and rounded the back, pulling a tattered blanket from the trunk. She opened the door to the backseat on my side, then my door. We stood closed-in between the two doors with the shed blocking her back.

  “Stand up” She directed.

I wasn’t out of the car before she was pulling at my belt.

“Whoa! Nay we’re almost home. You don’t have to—”

“I don’t want to wait.” She undid my pants and they fell in a bunch around my ankles. Nay pulled my growing dick through the hole in my boxers and bobbed twice to get it wet. Teasing me more with her tongue, she looked up with hooded eyes. “You know I should fuck you up for calling me lazy, right?”

She bobbed again and my head lolled back. Trying not to lose my cool, I swallowed hard as she cupped my balls through my boxers. “That’s what I been waiting on. Do you, Nay.”

“Do me, huh?” She was calling my bluff and I could not fucking wait to see what she planned to do. And goddam if she wasn’t doing it. Bobbing, sucking, and slurping like a mad woman. Her little hand fisted me to keep pace while she caught her breath. More than once I had to pull back to keep from blowing in her face. When she yanked my boxers down to suck my balls, I had to hold on to the car for stability. She was showing off.

She popped off my dick and stood long enough to pull her leggings down and trade places with me. Bending over the driver’s seat, she stood on those impossible heels daring me to slide in. Then she spread her cheeks which made me wonder: “Which one?” She looked over her shoulder with a devilish glint in her eyes. “Whichever one you want.”

I let loose a chuckle and shook my head. Fucking show-off. I used the head of my dick to gently part her folds and slid from her clit to her tight opening again and again. She was so goddamn wet it was shameful. Naomi lifted her leg, but not like yesterday morning. Today, she was impatient. Wanted me inside her now, or so I thought. I went to slide into her silky skin, but she lunged forward putting her sweet center out of reach. “Eat it.” She demanded and I was all too happy to do it. I ate my wife’s pussy from the back as she laid across the driver’s seat of our truck with no shame in me.

Naomi bucked and squirmed against my mouth until she came with force that had her clawing at the seat. I licked her juices from my lips, savoring the taste I’d literally dreamed about. Nay croaked for me to “Put it in.” Her moan so guttural I knew she was in a sensual haze and I obliged but had to stop midway. I’d forgotten how good her shit felt when she was really into it. It held on to me, snug and lubricated, causing my dick to throb. Nay wiggled her ass to tease me and I had to ram the rest of the way in. Gentle strokes would’ve had me coming in seconds.

Grabbing her hips, I beat her pussy like it was mine because it was. And she couldn’t keep quiet. She whimpered and wailed until she squirted, then squeezed me, coming all over my dick. I hadn’t even thought about my nut yet, but I knew I was just a few strokes away.

  “Hold it.”

“What?” I asked just seconds from final pleasure.

“Hold it.” She ejected me, then turned and kneeled before me. Lifting her tank top, she unhooked her bra and her gorgeous tits came spilling out. Cupping them, she closed them around my dick and let me pump between them. My wife: the lawyer, mother, daughter, and best friend was kneeling before me, ass out in a parking lot while I titty-fucked her. This shit was wild, and it was exactly what we needed. I pumped my last and felt the burgeoning explosion as the pressure built. I let loose all over her deep brown breasts while she held them together so not a drop was wasted. I came longer and harder than I had in months and her nasty ass lifted one and licked a bit of my cum from it. God I loved this woman!

Collapsing back into the driver seat, I watched as she cleaned herself then fixed her clothes. I would have helped. I wanted to help, but I was useless. She’d fucked me all up. I was still catching my breath when she started putting my clothes back together as best she could, then moved to return to the passenger seat. I grabbed her arm with a weak grip.

“You gotta drive. I can’t see straight.”

“Well look who’s had more than they can handle,” she said, smiling at her accomplishment.

“And I’m not ashamed to admit it,” I laughed as I got in the passenger seat and reclined it. She closed the door to the backseat, then got in and buckled up. It was lights out for me until we got home.

In our bed after my car nap, I had enough energy for us to talk about the kids, our parents, and us connecting more often, although I told her I could only do that parking lot shit once a year. And we laughed...about a bunch of stuff. These were the moments I’d been missing.

It was in the wee hours of the morning when the events of the night caught up to me.

  “Nay?”

  “Yeah?”

“We really had sex in the parking lot of a senior cente
r. What if they have cameras? They have my plate number.”

“That’s why I opened both doors and told you to park that way. If anything, all they have on camera is a parked car and us getting in and out.”

“But what if they see more and press charges?”

She yawned and settled into my arms. “Worst case scenario, you’ve got a good lawyer.”
