“Why aren’t you leaving?” I said, practically yelling.
“Ellie, I need to talk to you.” He then, unbelievably, came and sat down on the desk right next to me!
“Oh… my… God!” I groaned, burying my hand in my face. He seemed not to notice.
“Ellie, last night I tried to talk to you about something, but you were too drunk, and truthfully, so was I, so I’m glad we didn’t then. But I’ve been thinking about it all night, and I just… have to tell you.”

“What the hell did I do?”
“You were really flirting with me. Stephanie was dancing, and you and me were just talking at the bar. You were touching my thigh, holding my arm, you know, sending all the signals.”
“Signals?” I echoed, my mind groping for words to form into a sentence. “I certainly was not sending you those kinds of signals!”
“Okay,” he said, shaking his head and getting up off the bed. “Okay. Sorry.”
“Wait!” I called when he was in the doorway. “Wait. Bobby… I’m sorry, I’m just embarrassed at the moment. I’m not super angry or anything.”
“You’re not?”
I sighed. “No… truth is, I, uh, well… never mind.”
“Tell me.”
“It’s wrong, Bobby. You know that, right? We can’t do that. It’s totally wrong.”
“Why? Said who?”
“You’re my brother!”
“So?”
“So… it’s wrong!”
“I wrestled with that for ages, Ellie. Truth is, I’ve come to think that it’s not wrong. I want you, and I can’t help it. I love you, and I can’t stop it. Do you feel anything similar? Even just a little bit?”
I nodded my admission, before finally whispering the truth to him. “More than a little, Bobby.”
The smile that lit up his face was infectious. I couldn’t help but smile back. “But we can’t do anything.”
“Then… can I just watch you?” he asked, gesturing at the porno.
“What?”
“You know.”
I turned toward the video, then back at Bobby, and half-horrified with myself, I knew that I was going to do it. If we weren’t allowed to touch each other, then surely this was an okay alternative…
