  But Austin was already gone.

“Cut!” Rich approached Lucas and Jack. “That was perfect.” He looked at Jack and smiled. “You have a very expressive face. You captured that hurt, humiliated look quite convincingly.”

“Thanks.” Jack nodded but was aware he couldn’t give any real credit to his acting skills. The “hurt” was hardly manifested out of thin air. It wasn’t difficult to conjure up something that constantly hovered just below the surface.

“What?” Lucas snorted. “No praise for me? Aren’t I a convincing cock sucker?”

Gideon approached upon Lucas’ question and grinned. “Oh indeed, you are.” He winked, and Rich chuckled, nodding.

“Most definitely,” Jack snickered. “You deserve the cock sucker of the year award.”

“Fuck you,” Lucas laughed and punched his arm, catching the dig. The guy remained bare-ass and cock-hard, as comfortable as if he were fully dressed. “You better be nice to me or I might give it to you a little extra hard in our next scene.”

Stepping back, Jack grinned and beckoned to the guy. “Bring it on,” he challenged.

“Fuck,” Lucas laughed and grabbed Jack’s head, kissing him hard. “I can’t wait.” Gideon handed him a robe and Lucas slipped it on but left the front unfastened and open, defeating the purpose.

“Take twenty while we set up the next scene,” Rich told them.

“Aye, aye, Cap'n.” Lucas smirked and saluted.

Rich rolled his eyes and shook his head, grinning. A sigh escaped him as he walked back to the camera crew.

Gideon chuckled. “You’re incorrigible,” he told Lucas then glanced at his open robe. “Fasten your robe, flasher.”

“Why?” Lucas smiled and stepped closer to the man with a flirtatious flick of his eyebrow. “Don’t like the view?”

“Oh Lord,” Gideon groaned. “I must’ve been real bad in my past life to deserve you in this one.”

“Pft!” Lucas grinned and fingered the front of Gideon’s shirt. “You know you love me.”

Gideon sighed. “Not nearly as much as you love yourself,” he quipped, then cupped the back of Lucas’ head and planted a kiss on his cheek. “Yes, you annoying brat, I love you.” He laughed and glanced at Jack, his eyes softening, churning with veiled emotion. “You, too, kiddo.”

“Aw.” Lucas hugged Jack without warning, knocking him off-balance. “Our daddy loves us.” Jack stumbled against the guy and laughed.

A hard sigh escaped Gideon and he again shook his head and walked away, chuckling.

“So.” Lucas eased his hold on Jack but didn’t release him. He tilted his face down and kissed Jack on the mouth, softer this time. “How are you really doing?”

Jack considered his usual comeback—I’m fine—but knew Lucas could see through that lie by now. Always had, he suspected. He shrugged and exhaled heavily. “Fuck…I don’t know.” The promo he had shot with Garrett…and all that had happened between them…it had only served to gouge at his wounded heart which continued to bleed, nonstop. “I need to just put the fucking guy out of my head.”

Flattening his hand over Jack’s heart, Lucas pressed his lips to his temple. “That isn’t where he’s taken up residence,” he murmured and patted Jack’s chest. His arm dropped away, and he walked off, leaving Jack with the unsettling implication that it was much closer to the truth than he wanted to admit.

Fuck, he’d been on the verge of blurting out his love for the man seconds before Garrett had come to his senses and realized they were alone in the studio room. I love you—right there on his fucking tongue, ready to sprout wings and take flight. What the fuck had he been thinking?

Had he really believed there was anything genuine and sincere in that session with Garrett? The man was an actor. Nothing about his passion was real. And it never fucking had been.

The burning sting in Jack’s eyes annoyed him and he swiped irritably at the forming tears. “Fuck,” he choked quietly and cleared his throat.

  “You okay there?”

A hand touched Jack’s shoulder and he jumped, turning quickly.

“Didn’t mean to startle you,” Pratt said quietly but didn’t remove his hand from Jack’s shoulder, and in fact gripped a little tighter with an unspoken invitation.

“I’m fine,” Jack returned with a slight edge and jerked away from the man’s touch with a mumbled—“Don’t touch me.”

Pratt drew his hand back. “Just trying to be a friend,” he spoke low. “You don’t have to be a prick about it.”

  Jack just stared at him.

The man smiled apologetically and shrugged. “Sorry. I know you’re going through shit with Garrett. Like I told you before, the guy ain’t worth your time. You need someone who will”—his eyes swept Jack’s body—“appreciate you.” Jack didn’t reply, and Pratt smiled. “Really looking forward to the next scene,” he murmured and leaned a fraction closer, voice dropping. “I love to watch you take cock. You have a beautiful ass.”

Jack backed away from the man, his brow furrowed with a hard frown. “Stay the fuck away from me,” he whispered and walked away with a quickness to his step, his heart pounding. The weight of Pratt’s eyes rested heavily on his back until he passed from the man’s sight.

53 The Pool Skit: Scene Two—“The Break Room”

Wearing a pair of tight black swim trunks and nothing else, Lance lingered outside the employee break room. The door was open and, inside, Austin stood talking to another cabana boy. Lance waited for the other boy to leave then entered and closed the door quietly. “Why did you run out like that?”

Austin turned around, startled, his eyes wide as they helplessly swept down Lance’s body and back to his face. “Huh?”

“Yesterday,” Lance reminded him and took a few steps closer. “In my cabana…you took off before I could say hello.”

Austin stared at him uncertainly but remained silent.

“You do remember me…” Lance murmured. “…don’t you? Lance Cocker? High school?”

Nodding, Austin mumbled, “I remember you.” His gaze quickly averted.

“That’s good.” Lance walked closer. “I’d heard you were in Europe. Or was that just rumor?”

“I was,” Austin whispered. “I just got back a couple weeks ago.”

  “How was it?”

  Austin shrugged. “Fine.”

  “Not great?”

Another shrug. “I suppose great works.”

“I’ve been abroad as well,” he said. “Pity we didn’t encounter one another in…I don’t know…Italy, or perhaps Paris.”

Austin looked at him hesitantly. “Why?”

Lance smiled and approached him. “I just think…” He rubbed the back of his fingers down Austin’s cheek. “…we could have had an amazing time together.”

  Shifting anxiously, Austin turned away.

“Or did I misinterpret those looks you used to give me back in school?” Lance smiled. “If so, I apologize. It’s just that I never quite got you out of my head. I always wondered what would have happened…had we acted on our desires back then.”

  Austin frowned. “Our…?”

Chuckling softly, Lance caressed Austin’s back with his fingertips. “You didn’t know that I was head over heels for you?”

Austin tensed. “You never said anything,” he whispered.

Lance moved closer, touching his crotch to Austin’s ass. “I wanted to,” he groaned softly and nuzzled Austin’s ear, slipping his arms around his body. “So fucking bad. But you knew what my family was like. My life was a political snake pit and I had my part to play, an image to uphold.” He caressed Austin’s chest, plucking loose the buttons of his shirt. “I still do.”

“Then why are you here now?” Austin shuddered.

“To explain,” Lance murmured against his neck. “To let you know that I wasn’t keeping my distance out of choice.” He raked his teeth along the cord in Austin’s neck. “I was trapped. We all get tra
pped. If not by social standing, then…” He rubbed his hands over Austin’s bare chest. “…by our hearts.” He turned Austin around and slid his hands up the sides of his neck and cupped his face. “Tell me your heart isn’t as trapped as my own?”

Austin stared at him—and tears began to form. “My heart is cursed,” he whispered, voice trembling.

“Why cursed?” Lance touched his lips to Austin’s mouth, holding back the kiss in favor of an answer.

Trembling fingers caressed Lance’s chest. “Four years I’ve loved a man that I can’t have.” His gaze lowered. “That’s why I stayed away…far away. The thought of being near you and not being able to have you…”

“And what if I say you can?” Lance pressed his lips to Austin’s, completing the kiss, letting it linger deep and strong before drawing back, pulling a shaky gasp from Austin.

“Then you lie,” Austin whispered, his voice thick, eyes shimmering.

“I’m a lot of things.” Lance kissed him softly. “But a liar is not one of them.” He pushed up closer to Austin, pinning him gently against the wall as he slipped the man’s shirt off his shoulders. “Why did you come back?”

Austin gripped Lance’s hips and pulled him tighter to him. “Because like you said…” he whispered and kissed Lance’s throat hungrily. “My heart is trapped…here with you.”

Cupping Austin’s face, Lance shoved his head to the young man’s brow, and trembled with a smile. “Then let’s break open the prison doors and set our hearts free—if only for a moment.”

Shivers of pleasure ran through them both and they stripped one another of their clothes. Austin dropped to his knees and wrapped Lance’s stiff cock in his fist then took him into his mouth.

“Uuh!” Lance gasped and gripped Austin’s head, clutching his hair, rocking his hips as he fucked the man’s mouth with controlled thrusts. “Fuck, yes…I’ve dreamed about your mouth on my cock…” he panted loud. “Oh my God…even the dreams weren’t this good.” His fingers relaxed, and he combed them through Austin’s hair as he tilted his head back and closed his eyes. “Fuck, baby…Uuuhh…”

Austin massaged Lance’s heavy balls then fingered his tight hole, pushing a single digit inside.

“Fuck.” Lance shuddered as Austin sucked him with vigor and massaged his sweet spot. “Ahh fuck…I want to fuck you…now…”

He dragged Austin off him and to his feet then kissed him hard before turning him around. His hot breath puffed erratically against Austin’s shoulder as he rubbed his fingers through the crease of the man’s ass.

Austin clutched the wall, trembling. “Do it,” he urged, voice shaky, desperate. “Please…”

Lance spit in his hand and coated his member then directed the head of his cock to Austin’s entrance. Sharp breaths burst from them both as Lance pushed the thick head through the tight ring. “Fuck.” He shuddered and wrapped an arm around Austin’s body. “I’ve wanted this for so long.” His face buried in Austin’s neck, Lance pushed in deeper.

“Uuuhh…” Austin trembled, his fingers squeezing the wall. “Fuck,” he panted. “Yes…oh God…”

Lance took hold of Austin’s shaft and stroked him as he thrust into him deep and strong. “Ahh fuck,” he moaned. “Austin…” He fucked him a fraction harder. “Uhh…God…I’ve wanted to tell you for so long that I…” he gasped as Austin rocked his ass sensually on his cock and moaned loudly. “I love—”

  “Cut!”

Jack trembled as his heart pounded wildly in his chest. Lucas ceased movement but didn’t release him, nor did he pull out. As with scene one, this segment was meant to be a mere “fantasy”—this time from “Lance’s” perspective. They were to dress and revert to the beginning of the scene as if none of this had actually happened. But in the real world—stopping right now was a difficult task.

Lucas gripped Jack’s cock tighter, his hips pushing against Jack’s ass as his hardness remained buried deep inside. “Fuck,” Lucas whispered against his ear, voice unsteady. “I don’t want to stop.”

Swallowing hard, Jack pressed his forehead against the wall. “Me neither.” He trembled.

“Lucas?” Rich cleared his throat and low chuckles sifted through the camera crew.

Lucas groaned and rolled his hips just a bit, drawing a soft moan from Jack. “Give me a minute,” Lucas grunted, breathless. His fist slid slowly up Jack’s hard cock. He bit his earlobe. “By the way,” he muttered quietly to Jack. “Your ass is heavenly.”

His mind in a fog, Jack smiled, fighting the need to fuck him urgently.

“Shit,” Lucas sighed heavily, a deep groan swelling his voice. “I guess we have to continue this later.” With great reluctance, he backed off Jack then turned him around and pushed up against him, pinning him against the wall. “But later I will have my way with you.” He grinned and kissed Jack hungrily, rubbing his stiff cock against Jack’s equally hard member.

“Fuck,” Jack gasped then released a shaky laugh. “Can’t wait.”

Lance flinched, coming back to his senses as he continued to stand outside the break room. Austin was still talking with the other cabana boy, oblivious to Lance’s presence. He dragged a shaky hand down his face while his other hand went to his crotch, adjusting his bulging package. He cleared his throat, raking his fingers through his hair as he cast Austin one more glance before walking away.

  “Reduced to eavesdropping, are we?”

Garrett flinched, his shoulder bumping hard against the doorframe. Bailey smiled as he stepped up beside him, his gaze drifting to the camera crew across the way. Rich had just called cut for the second time and was now speaking with Jack and Lucas.

  “I wasn’t eavesdropping.” Garrett scowled.

  “Spying, then.” Bailey smirked.

“Shut up,” Garrett chuckled. Bailey continued to smile, but there remained a tension in his face that was uncharacteristic of the young man. Garrett had noticed the anxiety in Bailey for a couple days now. Before he could address the matter, Bailey nodded toward the set.

“Jack’s a natural, don’t you think? He could act in mainstream movies.” Bailey shrugged. “Lucas, too, for that matter. They mesh well together.”

Garrett looked at him. “Does it ever bother you?” he asked. “Watching Lucas fuck other men?”

“It’s what we do. Our job.” He met Garrett’s stare. “And besides, why should it bother me? We’re not dating.”

“So, you’re free to see other men?”

  Bailey nodded.

“When you’re in the city, then…you go out with other guys?” Garrett asked doubtfully. They had all witnessed Lucas’ possessiveness over Bailey, and Bailey’s own lack of interest in messing around with anyone but Lucas. He flirted, as they all did, but when it came down to the wire—he always ended up in Lucas’ bed and no one else’s.

“Fuck,” Bailey snorted. “When I’m in the city, I’m always on call. I don’t have time to see other men.”

“If you did have the time,” Garrett wondered with a smile, already knowing the answer before he asked the question. “Would you?”

Smiling, Bailey raised an eyebrow. “Why do you ask? You looking to sample my wares?”

Garrett chuckled and rubbed his hand over his mouth. “Can’t say the thought has never crossed my mind.” He winked. “But no, that wasn’t why I was asking. Just curious if you even wanted to see anyone but Lucas.”

  “Not at this time, no.”

“And Lucas…” Garrett said. “…does he ever talk about it?”

“What? Going out with other guys?”

  Garrett nodded.

  “He hasn’t mentioned it.”

Bailey’s answer to that last question afforded Garrett a measure of relief he didn’t quite understand. After all, Garrett didn’t care how they conducted their relationship. Bailey took the liberty of solving the conundrum of Garrett’s sense of relief.

  “Don’t tell me
you’re worried that our Lucas Black has set his sights on Jack for off-camera play,” he murmured, amusement in his voice. “Are you?”

Shifting his stance, Garrett chuffed. “Like I give a fuck. Jack is not my concern. My asking about Lucas had nothing to do with Jack.” It sounded good—even sounded sincere. So why the fuck was it a punch to his heart each time Jack’s name was spoken aloud?

“No, of course not,” Bailey murmured, lips quirking.

Desperate to shift the focus away from Jack, Garrett quickly diverted any more talk of the young man. “So, you and Lucas have never broached the subject of an exclusive relationship?”

“No.” Bailey fell in line, leaving off the matter of Jack. “I don’t know how well this job would coincide with a committed relationship. Once two people become exclusive, I would think they might start to feel possessive of their partner. And then a whole new set of problems would crop up and interfere with job performance.” He glanced at Garrett. “For some, I mean. Others handle it just fine.”

In Garrett’s opinion, Lucas and Bailey handled it just fine. They could tell themselves they were in an open relationship without any commitments or deep-rooted emotions, but anyone who watched them together knew better. Garrett nodded, keeping his observations to himself. “The twins, for example. They do quite well balancing the job with their relationship.”

Bailey fidgeted. “Yeah, well,” he murmured. “They shoot all their scenes together. Neither has to stand back and watch the other do an exclusive scene with someone else.”

Twisting around, Garrett leaned his back against the doorframe and looked at Bailey, brow furrowed. “You okay?”

His gaze averted, Bailey shrugged. “Yeah. Why?”

“You just seem on edge all of the sudden.” Garrett studied the young man’s face as it strained a fraction more. “In fact,” he murmured. “You’ve seemed on edge a lot lately. What’s up?”

  “Nothing.”

“In my experience,” Garrett observed. “Nothing is usually something.”
