“I got this,” the man stated, exiting the truck. Slowly, he inched along the side of the truck.

“On three, take him, Dillon. 1-2-3!” Sebastian ordered.

I lunged upward, grabbing his weapon, kneeing him in the balls. I drew my gun, pointing it at his head. “Drop your weapon!” I yelled in a whisper.

  “Not a fucking chance.”

“Have it your way.” I slammed the butt of my Glock against his head. Tony ran along the passenger side of the truck, apprehending the second armed man. The guy mustered up his strength, tussling with me, trying to pull me in front of him. Finally, my silencer rested against his head. I pulled the trigger, one shot to the head. His body became limp, and I lowered him to the ground slowly.

Tony approached from around the truck. “No luck snapping his neck, huh?”

I laughed, placing my Glock in my shoulder holster. “Funny thing. This big motherfucker was as strong as me.” I opened the truck.

Tony grabbed his legs, I grabbed his arms, and we threw his limp body inside.

I lowered the trunk door slowly until it clicked shut. “What happened to the other guy?”

“I pointed my gun at his head, told him to drop his weapon or I would blow his fucking brains out. He complied. I reached in, snapping his neck.”

“I even got us a bonus.” He waved a walkie talkie in the air. Tony clipped the walkie on the side pocket of his black cargo pants.

We smiled. “Sounds like we are still in the clear.”

Inching forward in a crouching position, we approached the last vehicle. The other guys were patrolling the building.

“All right everyone, we need a simultaneous attack. Hunter and Skyler, you need to shot the three men patrolling the front of the building. Are you ready?” Sebastian asked.

  “Yes,” they replied.

“Dillon and Tony, move in on your targets,” Sebastian instructed.

  “Copy that,” we whispered.

Tony and I separated, swiftly approaching our targets from either side of the truck. Reaching in through the truck windows, we snapped their necks before they could reach for their guns. Slowly, we opened the rear passenger doors, slipping inside. We dragged the dead bodies from the front seat, dropping them in the trunk. The silent shots flew through the air, taking out the three men who stood guard outside the warehouse. Tony and I climbed into the front of the truck.

Brandon, Zoey, and my father quietly made their way across the parking lot, hiding behind the truck we sat in. I threw the truck in neutral.

“Sergio and Brandon, push the truck,” Sebastian ordered.

“Hunter and Skyler, now take out the targets on the roof,” Sebastian ordered.

We watched as the two men on opposite sides of the roof fell.

They pushed the dark truck until we were close to the building.

“Vincent, did you hear something?” we heard over the walkie.

We had no time to waste; we had to continue with our plan.

  “No, I heard nothing!”

“You’re supposed to be paying attention.”

Tony and I glanced at each other. The guy from the side of the building stepped into view. Glancing through the rearview mirror, I noticed Zoey stepped from behind the truck. My eyes shot over to the passenger side mirror. Zoey squeezed the trigger, releasing one silent shot from her Glock, slamming into his forehead. Poor bastard never saw it coming.

Zoey approached the passenger door, planting a kiss on Tony’s cheek. “Good to see you, Tony.”

“Good to see you too, Zoey.”

Brandon stepped next to Zoey, swooping his arm around her waist. “Tony, no flirting with my wife.”

Tony chuckled. “Calm down. Let’s finish the job.”

Tony’s eyes darted over to me. “You ready?”

“Yep, let’s move.” I stepped out of the truck, softly closing the door.

Brandon and Zoey crept along, stepping over the dead bodies lying on the ground along the front of the warehouse. Brandon glanced at Zoey, signaling with his hand for them to move on his count. The disappeared around the corner.

“Dillon and Tony, quickly load the bodies into the truck,” Sebastian ordered.

Swiftly, we jumped into action, slinging the three dead bodies into the inside of the suburban.

“The perimeter is clear. Dillon and Tony, you can move in now,” Brandon stated.

  “Roger that, Brandon,” I stated.

Still dressed in his suit, my father approached. “I’ll follow behind,” he stated, checking his surroundings.

“Ok.” Removing the Glock from my holster, I inched up the ladder, then slouched down, hiding against an air conditioning unit. Tony and my father hid behind two other structures.

My fist rose into the air, their eyes focused on my movements. Bending over, I scurried across the roof toward the door. “We are clear Sebastian.”

  “Good, Dillon.”

  Tony and my father approached.

“Step aside and allow Tony to line the door with explosives.”

My eyes held a level of concern as my jaws tensed.

Tony smiled at me. “Don’t worry. I got it handled. I’m just going to place two of these babies on the door.” He crouched down, sticking the C4 on the door next to the lock.

  “Sebastian, we’re ready.”

“The power is off,” Sebastian stated.

All three of us took a step back, hiding behind another air conditioning unit. Tony clutched the small device in his hand, tapping the button.

“Dink,” was all I heard when the lock fell to the ground.

“Make sure you turn on your infrared view on your glasses,” Tony directed, taping the side of his glasses.

  CHAPTER NINE

  DILLON

“Griff, check the power box. See what’s going on with those lights!” Filippo barked over the walkie.

In a single file line, we walked down the stairs, halting at a door leading to the second floor. Slowly, I turned the door knob. Upon stepping inside, I inhaled the richness of expensive Cuban cigars filling the air. My arm slipped around the man’s neck who stood just outside the door. His hands flew up, gripping my arm, attempting to free himself from my plight. Grabbing his face, I rocked it from side to side, instantly killing him. Quietly, I lowered his limp body to the yellow grated floor. My eyes took in my surroundings. Tony and my father were busy apprehending the other men on that floor. After darting my head into each of the three offices, I waited for Sebastian’s direction.

“Dillon, remember there are thirteen men downstairs walking throughout. Your first target is posted at the bottom of the stairs. You and your team are to kill each man on sight.”

  “Roger that, Sebastian.”

Tony and my father waited at the top of the stairs in the pitch-black warehouse as I eased down the steps toward my infrared target, placing my muzzle against the back of the man’s head, killing him instantly. They whisked past me, taking out the other two men in the spacious room.

“Griff, how we looking getting the power restored?”

“Boss, I’m having a little trouble restoring the lights. Give me more time. I can get the lights turned on soon.”

“All right, keep working,” Filippo barked.

“Dillon, we’ll take care of the other men,” my father stated over the ear piece.

Laughter erupted from the room Tony and my father would soon enter.

My eyes fell on two large crates as I crept across the room. The smell of cigars arose from the crates. Leaning against the wall, I exhaled, picturing Sierra’s beautiful face. Holding her in my arms is what I longed to do after I rescue her.

My heart raced as I prepared my Glock and my A1 assault rifle.

Tony and my father stood still across the room.

“Go get her,” my dad stated.

“On it.” I stepped closer to the door. My father and Tony entered the room
on the other side of the wall.

Placing my ear to the door, I heard Filippo taunting Sierra. “I wanted my men to watch me fuck you in the ass, but I don’t give a shit about the lights. I’m going to take you now.” He chuckled.

“Don’t fucking touch me again!” Sierra bit out.

Closing my eyes again briefly, I had to collect myself. I needed to be ready to save my woman. No time to act hastily.

“When the boss is done with your pretty little ass, we are going to take turns fucking you, then kill you,” they laughed.

Slowly, my hand wrapped around the door knob, turning, then pulling the door open slightly, squeezing inside. Scanning the room, I pinpointed four men to my left, huddled over a table, playing cards by cell phone flashlights. Their laughter continued to fill the room. The man to my right whispered into his phone.

“Baby, I promise I’ll be over tomorrow night. I have to handle some business.”

Pungent blood and urine was in the air. The muzzle of my gun slammed into the side of the tall, stalky man’s meaty neck. Disconnecting his call, I slid his cell into my pocket and my arm breezed around his neck.

“What the fuck!” erupted from the table across the room. My eyes darted in their direction. The dim light from their cells illuminated the room. Their chairs slammed against the wall as they rose, pointing their guns toward Hunter and Skyler creeping into the room. They pointed their four guns at Filippo and his henchmen.

My heart began slowly climbing back to my chest. I was relieved to have Hunter and Skyler as backup.

  The lights flickered on.

Tony entered the room, pointing his gun toward the man who stood in my wake. I stepped to the middle of the room, squaring my gun with Filippo’s head.

My eyes roamed my tattered woman’s body, who sat visibly shaken, in her own urine. I wanted to charge at that piece of shit for harming and humiliating my woman. She is still beautiful in her darkest moment. I love Sierra with all my heart; nothing can sway my love for her. Sierra’s dazed, teary eyes held mine. Her head lowered, and the tears disbursed. Her hearty sobs captured the attention of everyone in the room. Swallowing past the large lump in my throat, I found my voice.

“Filippo, I am here to get my woman.”

“Looks like it’s time to party.” Skyler chuckled.

“It is party time, doll face!” Filippo laughed, pressing his gun against the back of Sierra’s head.

“I think it’s fair to say you bit off more than you can chew. Me and my team save the world every day. We’ve taken out your whole crew, and we still have backup outside. You aren’t getting out of here alive.” Skyler dropped her head back in laughter.

Skyler’s eyes fell on Sierra. “We are here to take you home, Sierra. We ain’t leaving here without you.”

The tears streamed down Sierra’s face, and her lips trembled as her eyes remained on Skyler.

“All this shit is fucking touching.” Filippo’s eyes burned into me.

“Dillon, you can’t have your sweet tasting little black girl back. She’s mine now.” He leaned forward, licking the side of her face.

I wanted to squeeze the trigger and watch his brains explode. My jaw clenched, and my chest tightened. I felt myself unraveling at the seams. He knew he was pushing my fucking buttons.

“You just don’t know how to die, Dillon. I need to get rid of you once and for all.” He pointed his other gun at my head.

“No, no, no!” Sierra shouted as her eyes grew in size.

“Enough is enough, you cock sucking motherfucker!” My father roared.

My eyes traced the red dot fixated on Filippo’s head to my father’s Glock.

“We have business to settle. Mick constantly warned me about you,” my father stated, falling in line with me.

“Because of the shit you pulled my son faked his death! You, greedy son of a bitch. You wanted Mick out the way so you could run the gambling joints the way you wanted. You collected money from Ed over the years for his gambling debt that I said was settled!” My father pointed at his chest.

“Last time I checked, I’m the fucking boss!” he roared.

The entire room was completely silent. Weight held on his one sentence.

“The fucking war is just the beginning! I’m going to wipe out your entire family!” My father inched closer.

“Their deaths are on your head.”

He glanced across the room. “Dino, Cane, Tito, and Donavan, I have no bad blood with any of you. Put your weapons down and leave. If you chose his side, you will die by my hands!” he growled.

“Sergio, we don’t want any trouble with you,” the short, pudgy guy stated.

The men placed their guns on the table, never making eye contact with Filippo.

“What the fuck is this? You cock suckers turn your backs on family?!” Filippo foamed at the mouth.

My father placed his hand on the short man’s shoulder. “Dino, there’s a lot of clean-up work to be done.” His eyes landed on Tony.

“Tony is going to ensure you have no problem cleaning up. Capisce?”

  “We understand, Sergio.”

Tony remained close to the five men as they exited the room.

My dark eyes met Hunter’s. “Would you both give us a minute? We need to handle some family business. You understand, right?”

He and Skyler holstered their weapons. “Yeah, we got it.” He smirked.

“We’ll be right outside if you need us.”

I nodded to them both, before they exited the room.

  CHAPTER TEN

  DILLON

Walking around my father, I turned the flashlights off on the four cell phones resting on the table.

Filippo pointed his revolver toward my father. “You think I’m going to bow down to you?” His eyes widened.

  “Sergio, never!” He grimaced.

The warehouse fell dark again. My father ducked. Filippo fired a shot. I ran, grabbing Filippo’s hand, tussling with him, knocking the gun from his hand. I kneed him in his side. “You slithering piece of shit. I finally get to kill you!”

The lights popped back on. I held my muzzle against Filippo’s head. Removing a hunting knife from its leather holder, I cut Sierra loose with my other hand. My father wrapped his bear-sized hands around Filippo’s neck. Filippo’s hands loosely shook at his sides.

“I’m going to kill you slow,” my father warned. His hair shook loose from its neat slicked back form, turning him into a wild man.

Sierra grabbed the knife from my hand, jabbing it into Filippos chest again and again. My father stepped aside, holding Filippo by his arm. Her once scared eyes, were now piercing and cold.

“You tried to rape me!” Tears poured down her face. Her brittle lips trembled as she stabbed him repeatedly.

  Filippo chuckled through the torture.

Retrieving my other hunting knife, I began stabbing Filippo in the back repeatedly.

  “Sierra, look at me.”

We stared at each other as we drilled our knives into his bloody body. In that moment, I had no more tears for the years I lost. I only cared about the here and now, Sierra. Pulling my knife from his bloody body, I grabbed Sierra’s hand, prying the knife from her fingers. I pulled her into my arms, placing the bloody knives back into their respectful holders.

My eyes met my father’s. “Dillon, you go take care of your woman. It’s time to turn this place into a chop shop.” His boisterous laughter filled the room.

Sierra pushed back from me. Her palms slammed into my father’s chest. “This is all your fault, Mr. Mob Boss! My father warned me about you. You are a bad guy. He told me I needed to become a judge to take you down once and for all!”

His eyebrows scrounged together. “What the fuck are you talking about?”

I grabbed Sierra’s arm. She snatched away from my grip. “No, don’t touch me!” Her eyes narrowed at my father.

  “I told Filippo you
would come for him. I thought I would be collateral damage. I thought when I told him my father was a judge and he’d see that he gets life in prison, he would back down. No, he laughed at me.”

She stepped back, holding her head high. “My father is the honorable Judge Leonard Simmons.”

My father’s head fell back in laughter. He inched forward in her direction. “Your father worked for me for years,” he snarled.

“He only wanted out the life because he didn’t want his daughter learning the truth about who he really was…a dirty motherfucker just like me!”

Her eyebrows wrinkled as she pondered on his words.

“I overheard him talking to you in his office when I was twelve years old. He told you he would help you run for mayor, then you both would go your separate ways. He knew it would be easy for me to take you down. He hoped you would turn away from the mafia, but you couldn’t. I don’t care how bad a light you try to shine on my father, at least he turned his life around more than I can say for you!”

He laughed hysterically. “You’re naïve and know nothing!” He leaned in, pointing his finger in her face. “Your father is full of shit! He knew my life. There is no getting out!” he huffed. He ran his fingers through his wild hair. “So, what, you’re going to take me down now?”

She backed up, turning his words over in her head, running her hand over her collar-bone. Her eyes stared into his momentarily. “No.” Her eyebrows wrinkled.

Her cold eyes met his again. “I chose to work for myself. I never became a judge. Doesn’t change the fact that I know who you are.” Sierra’s hand flew to her head, and her eyes closed. She began falling backwards, leaning forward. I grabbed her body, breaking her fall. I swooped her soiled body up into my arms.

The tears flowed from my eyes. It occurred to me how lost I was without Sierra in my life. I didn’t know what I would do if she died. “Sierra, wake up!” My hand firmly tapped her cheek repeatedly.

She didn’t wake. “I have to get her help!”

Brandon and Sebastian burst into the room. “Dillon, let me have a look at her,” Brandon stated.
