Then Billy broke the silence, “Sorry bro, that’s a tough break,” he said empathetically.
“Well, not all the rats went down with the ship Beej,” said Will. “The rabbit hole was a lot deeper than we thought,” he added.
“What can we do about it? You heard those names on Sam’s message,” said Billy uncertainly. “What’ya thinking?” asked Billy.
Will took the locket out from inside his jacket and stared at the picture of Maya. He then looked-up at Billy and behind his eyes, a fire started to burn brightly inside. It was the truest manifestation of the Promethean spirit.
“Come on, let’s go!” said Will doggedly. The Mustang roared to life and the rear wheels spun melodramatically, as it pulled away. “We’ve got work to do!” added Will, as they continued along Route 62 and onto Tahlequah.
Over the next fifteen months, Will and Billy would assemble their team. A group of individuals from different backgrounds but highly gifted in their particular skillsets. Their expertise would range from psychology to medicine, engineering to IT and even personnel with military and combat training. Billy and Will would consider each one of them very carefully, as they’d come to rely on them in the dangerous months ahead.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Patrick Jean-Jacques drew inspiration from some of his favourite authors (such as Tom Clancy, Jack Higgins and Robert Ludlum) and film directors (such as Spielberg, Tarantino and Christopher Nolan) when writing his debut novel Promethean Shadows. So it was no big surprise, he ventured into writing contemporary fictional thrillers. Patrick was an Exercise, Health and Fitness Professional and Personal Trainer before going on to teach Physical Education and Mathematics for the past 15 years. Patrick lives in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk where he is currently developing the second novel in his Promethean Saga.
