Brutus is standing beside the door, looking pale.
“What is going on?”
“Boss, you’re not going to be happy with me. I just want you to remain calm,” he pleads.
I am reminded of the last time he said those exact words to me. It was when he told me he had lost track of Isabella. How the hell do you drift off to sleep when you should be watching someone?
“What’s going on?”
“You have a visitor,” he replies.
“Okay, where are they?”
“In your office.”
“You let someone wait for me inside my office?”
“I didn’t think you’d want anyone to see him waiting for you out in the open.”
I am instantly suspicious as to who he let wait for me inside my office. Taking a deep breath, I walk around the big monster that is blocking my door. His back is turned away from me, but I immediately know who is waiting for me. Nikoli turns toward me with a smirk on his face.
“What the hell do you want?” I growl.
“I’d think you would like to talk about your wife… I will let you decide which one.”
