Beware of Me
Page 16
I laughed. “I don't know if my body could handle it.”
Gunner's smile turned sly. “We'll just have to see.” He kissed me passionately and I got lost again. “We need to get ready. Your mom is waiting for us downstairs.”
“Shit I totally forgot. I could've spent the rest of my life in the shower with you. You're going to have to help me up though. I don't think my legs can support me anymore.”
Gunner stood up and grabbed both of my arms as he helped me up. My head instantly felt lightheaded and I swayed from side to side. “Got up too fast,” I said.
Gunner turned off the shower and gave me a towel. Anything else I can get for you?”
“A new body would be nice,” I said.
“I like your body just the way it is,” Gunner replied.
“How much time do we have?” I asked.
Gunner checked his watch on the bathroom counter. “We were supposed to meet your mom forty-five minutes ago.”
We both got ready in a flash. Gunner helped tie my tie as the final act.
We descended the stairs arm-in-arm. I needed Gunner to help prop me up or I'd collapse. Most of my muscles weren't working anymore.
My mom was waiting at the bottom, her arms crossed and her foot tapping. “There you guys are. What took you so long?”
I spoke first. “I had some bathroom problems.”
Gunner's eyebrow arched.
“Well I didn't need to know the specifics, Jax.” My mom took a step backwards. “Wow, look at you two. Just like two princes.”
Gunner and I looked at each other endearingly.
Gunner was a real prince now and his loving eyes told me that I was his now.

Description
He thinks he owns me after our first meeting.
Marcos is a huge man with an ego to match.
I'm ready for a challenge.
This will make you feel naughty in all the right places.
Chapter One
I knew the moment I met my mom's boyfriend, Marcos, that I had to make him mine.
He wasn't like older men and nothing like the guys I met at college. He was mature, in perfect shape, and had expensive tastes.
The problem was to get him attracted to me.
I thought it would be simple: show off my big arms, walk around the house shirtless, tell him sexual jokes.
But none of that worked.
I never had trouble seducing men before. In fact, it was pretty easy for me. A smirk was enough to get any man to bend me over and take me right then and there.
But not good old Marcos. He wouldn't do anything that was considered bad. And definitely nothing forbidden.
I had never faced a challenge like this before and I was excited about conquering it. I had a plan that I knew was foolproof.
My plan was two fold.
Number one: Convince my mom that I needed a job at Marcos' company.
Number two: Get close enough to him and stay there.
The first part of the plan seemed easy enough. Ever since I graduated with a degree in psychology, I'd been on the lookout for jobs and had come up empty-handed.
I knew my mom was getting frustrated with me being at home all the time pretty much living off her dime. And to be honest, I was too.
I never saw myself in the position when I left college. I always pictured myself living on my own and making boatloads of money.
But some things are not always meant to be.
So now I could hit two birds with one stone. Get a job and Marcos all in the same swing. I had overheard Marcos telling my mom that his executive secretary had left him just a week ago and I was pretty sure that he hadn't hired anybody since.
I put on my game face and found my mom in her bedroom reading a book about building confidence.
“Can I talk to you for a moment?” I asked her.
My mom took off her reading glasses and placed a bookmark between the pages. “What's up, Aaron?”
I sat down on the edge of her bed. “Well as you know, I've been searching for a job and haven't had any luck.”
“You need to put yourself out there more,” she replied.
“I have. I've blanketed the entire city with my resume but nobody seems to be hiring right now.”
My mom didn't seem to believe the bullshit. And she was right not to. After the first month of searching and not hearing anything back, I went into a little depression. I barely even looked for jobs anymore.
“What you need to do is take anything that you can get and work your way up from there. It won't be the best job or high-paying but it will be a good start. I know you don't want to live under my roof the rest of your life.”
“I was thinking about Marcos,” I said.
My mom cocked her head to the side. “What about him?”
“I overheard the two of you talking about his secretary and how he needed one.”
“I don't know about that, Aaron. Marcos runs a big investing firm. I would think he needs someone who has a lot of experience as a secretary. You have no work experience whatsoever.”
I hung my head low. “I know but I thought maybe Marcos could do it as a favor to you.”
“Marcos and I aren't on great terms right now. We've been fighting a lot since he's always at work,” my mom said.
“I'm sorry. I had no idea” I actually did have a little bit of an idea because I could hear them arguing all the time. I knew their relationship wouldn't last much longer. I could always tell when my mom was ready to move on. But I wasn't ready to move on from Marcos yet.
“It doesn't have to be anything permanent. Just something to put on my resume so it will help me find a real job.”
My mom thought about it for a moment, her fingertip tapping her bottom lip. “You might be on to something. If working for Marcos for a few months would give you some work experience, it could help your job search.”
“I'm glad you're seeing things my way.”
My mom put her hand up. “I'm not saying this is going to happen. Marcos is a very important man and I don't think he's going to go for it.” She paused for a moment for dramatic effect. “But I'll ask him for you.”
I jumped at my mom and threw my arms around her. “Thank you so much. You don't know how much this means to me.”
“If I do this, you better work your ass off for Marcos.”
I nodded. “Don't worry, I will.”
Chapter Two
The first part of my plan had been a success.
My mom had talked with Marcos one night and convinced him to hire me as his secretary.
The morning of my first day was so nerve-wracking. I didn't know what to wear. I wanted to impress Marcos with my professionalism. I knew I needed to go in the opposite direction of shirtless outfits and laying it on thick. Marcos was into a more refined man. And I set out to be exactly that.
I put on a black suit that was just a tiny bit too small. My large pecs almost ripped the white shirt underneath. The finishing touch was a pair of glasses. I had worn contacts for most of my life but kept glasses for emergency situations.
This was an emergency situation.
My first day on the job wasn't exactly what I expected. I thought I'd be working closely with Marcos for the entire day.
But he wasn't even there.
Marcos was off on some business trip and wouldn't be back for a week.
Why would he make me start when he knew he would be gone.
All it did was reinforce the fact that Marcos wasn't taking this very seriously. He was just doing this as a favor to my mom.
Well I would show him that I could be really good at this job. He would see the
true benefits with time.
So I had absolutely nothing to do but sit at my desk and look pretty. I was never trained and didn't even know what my duties were. I think everyone in the office knew I was connected to him and that I wouldn't be here for very long.
I'd met a few of the men around the office but most people kept to themselves.
I used my free time to clean Marcos' office and snoop through his things. He was not surprisingly very private. He didn't keep many notes about his desk and everything was where it should be. Not a piece of paper out of place.
What I failed to realize at first was that all of his personal details wouldn't be kept in a planner but on the computer.
I hadn't even turned on the computer in the three days that I had come to work.
When I hit the power button, I was greeted with a login screen. I never got a password or anything. I knew that if I asked somebody else, I'd get the same non-responsive look. Only Marcos would be able to help me and I still had to wait two days.
Or did I?
I looked through the desk drawers and found a piece of paper with a bunch of yellow sticky notes attached to it. It looked like it was important notes left behind by the previous secretary. And sitting at the top was her username and password.
I wasn't sure if it would even work anymore since she had left but it was worth a shot.
I typed in the jumble of letters and numbers and hit enter, crossing my fingers. The welcome screen came on and I jumped from my desk in celebration.
But I didn't know what this had even accomplished. I didn't know what I was looking for.
Marcos' secretary had kept everything very clean on the desktop. I clicked through folders and files looking for anything that would give me a leg up on Marcos.
I found his upcoming schedule but it didn't reveal any information I didn't already know.
As I was about to give up, I found a file that was suspiciously marked: Draft email to H.R. I wasn't sure what it meant but I clicked on it anyways.
I read through the email that was paragraphs long. My eyes lit up as I discovered the content. The gist of it was that Marcos and his secretary had fallen into a secret romance. He described in intimate detail about their office encounters which excited me immensely.
I wanted to slip my hand down my pants and touch myself but there were too many people around. I leaned closer to the computer monitor and read every word of every sentence.
The previous secretary never sent the email to H.R. There was no indication that anybody had found out about the two of them. So why did he leave then?
Did Marcos fire him? Maybe he was done with him and threw him away like the morning trash.
Whatever happened, I was going to make sure that it worked out differently for me.
One thing that helped me over the next couple days was a file called checklist. It was a list of things the secretary did everyday for Marcos. It was a long list with specific instructions. How he wanted his coffee taken. Which newspapers would be brought to him in the morning. Everything had to be perfect down to even the tiniest details.
I memorized everything. I read that checklist over and over again and made sure that I would be able to perform it perfectly.
I needed to impress Marcos far beyond what he had seen of me before.
This was a new and improved Aaron. A real man who could make Marcos fall in love with him.
I just hoped that all this worked.
Chapter Three
I was so nervous the day Marcos was expected to return. I had read in his schedule that he was supposed to be back at the office at 10:15 AM. It was already 10:30 AM and there was no sign of him.
I knew that things weren't exact but I was scared that Marcos might not come back at all today. I would be the last to know if his business trip was extended.
The telephone sitting at my desk rang and made me jump out of my seat. The entire time I had been working, I'd never received a phone call. I had assumed that since he was away, Marcos had all his calls forwarded to him.
I looked at the caller ID and noticed that it was from a number inside the building. I picked up the phone, “Hello? This is Marcos' secretary.”
I knew that wasn't how I should answer the phones but I had no idea what to say or who I was even talking to.”
“The man is in the building,” a male voice said. Then he hung up.
I knew that it could mean only one thing. Marcos was finally here.
The elevator across from me dinged and opened. There he was. Marcos stood there like a god, wearing a tailored gray suit and holding a black briefcase in one hand.
He walked towards me with all the authority in the world. I watched him in awe and felt weak in the knees.
Would I be able to handle this? This was beginning to sound like a stupid plan. I couldn't believe I had devised all this to get a man.
Was Marcos really worth it?
When he opened his mouth, I knew it was.
“Good to see you, Aaron. Can you bring my coffee into the office.”
I gulped and tried to say something in return but Marcos was already gone and behind a closed door. I gathered the three newspapers he liked and picked up his coffee that was made exactly how he wanted with soy milk and a little sugar. It was a little cold now since I had expected him to arrive a little earlier.
I went to the door and realized that I didn't have a free hand to open it. I tried to hit the handle with my hip but nothing was working. I looked up to see if anyone was watching me be a fool but everyone was focused in their little cubicle world.
I set the newspapers on the ground and opened the door a smidge. I picked up the newspapers and walked into his office with as much confidence as I could muster.
Marcos sat behind his desk looking at some papers. He didn't even acknowledge that I was there.
I set down his coffee and newspapers on the edge of the desk like the note in the computer had said to do. “Here is your coffee and papers, sir,” I said in an unwavering voice.
Marcos glanced over to the things I set down and then looked up at me with a smile. “That will be all for now.”
I could tell that he was impressed that I knew exactly what to do. I left the office with a little bounce in my step.
I sat back down at my desk and was ready to devise a plan of attack when a barrage of phone calls hit me. They weren't even in waves. It was just one after another.
I had no idea how to work the phones so I didn't know how to send a person on hold over to Marcos. Soon I had six people on hold, all waiting to talk to him.
The blinking lights were messing with my head. It was hard to process everything. The smart thing that I did was write down who each person was and what number they were on hold.
I walked in with a piece of paper and handed it to Marcos. I didn't think he would like it this way. I assumed the previous secretary would call him and tell him everything but I wanted a more personal touch.
I needed as much time with Marcos in the flesh as possible.
Marcos looked over the notes. “I'll take the first one and have the rest of them call back later.”
I nodded and left. It had worked.
I went back to my desk and saw that Marcos was talking to the man on line 1. I told the rest to call back later.
This wouldn't be too bad.
I spent the rest of the day working the phones and taking messages. As the day wore on, I realized that I had barely interacted with Marcos. At least not enough for me to make a better impression.
I wondered if it was all worth it. Maybe Marcos just wasn't plain interested in me.
Then I remembered the other secretary.
The secret romance between them was real. He probably had a thing for secretaries. If I played my cards right, everything might just fall in my lap.
The door to Marcos' office opened and he came rolling out. “Aaron, I have a lot of work to take care of tonight. Can you stay late?”
“Of cou
rse, sir. I'll stay as late as you need me.”
I smiled. Everything was going just as planned.
Chapter Four
After 5:00 PM, the entire office cleared out. Marcos stayed inside his office and I stayed at my desk. I didn't know when he was going to call on me but I needed to be ready when he did.
