“So, Sid was work busy today,” he asked.

  Sidney looked over at him and smiled, “No, just annoying, and it must be pissed off customer day because that's primarily what I dealt with all day.”

  Ramsey felt bad that she had to deal with that all day, but could think of a few ways to make it up to her for not being there. Sidney saw a twinkle in Ramsey’s eye and a smirk on his face. She then interrupted his thought and said, “Can I turn off the TV, and we can listen to some music?”

  Ramsey said sure, “I have tons of music on my phone, can I hook it up to your speakers?”

  “That would be great Ramsey.” She said as Ramsey hooked his phone into the speakers and the music began to play, Ramsey and Sidney's chit chatted about what happened that day and ways they could make the delinquent account numbers a little lower before they knew it, it had gotten to 11:30 pm and they were still laughing and having a great time. Sidney loved talking to Ramsey. There was just something about him that made him so easy to talk to. Talking to her made all her worries and problems fade away. He looked at her in a way that made her not only feel important, but like she was the only woman he had eyes for. She felt beautiful in his eyes and she loved that feeling at that moment, Sidney got up and stretched and said wow it's getting pretty late, and we have to work in the morning,

  After their coffee, they decide to switch to wine, but only one glass since Ramsey had to drive home. Sidney gathered the empty glasses and took them into the kitchen. She was so zoned out that she didn’t hear that Ramsey had followed her into the kitchen and had been watching her. She turned, bumping right into him… OH! I am so sorry Ramsey, she said you startled me, He took his hand and lifted her chin up so that they were looking eye to eye, and then before another word could be spoken, he planted what had to be the most passionate, seductive, and intense kiss on her lips that she had ever felt in her entire life. She was paralyzed and was couldn’t believe what was happening. Sidney for a moment lost control of her senses, her body was on fire, and she stood there, still for the longest time. Ramsey finally lets her go and broke away from the kiss and looked at her smiling with a look of shock was still on her face,

  Ok, so did that just happen? She thought to herself. Did he just? But I? And before she could speak, As if he was reading her mind Ramsey replied yes with a smile on his face, Sid that did just happen. Ramsey wanted her to know that it was real, and he wasn’t going to apologize for it either. A little smile began to form on Sidney’s face. She couldn’t believe he knew what she was thinking and from the smirk still on his face he wasn’t going to apologize either. Ramsey finally broke their silence, Are you ok Sid? Sidney hadn’t blinked or moved in a few minutes and finally answered, yes I am ok, she whispered back at him. Ramsey, what are we doing? Are you sure this is a good idea? Ramsey shot her a look, what’s wrong Sidney? Are you regretting it?

  Sidney quickly pulled back. NO! NO, I am not, I just know you and how you are, wanting to be alone and following the rules. Before she could finish he put a single finger up to his lips, Shhh Sid I know what I want, he placed a quick peck on her lips again before looking at her and saying I should get going, I am going to be dragging my ass tomorrow. Before she could say anything Ramsey grabbed his keys and headed towards the door, good night Sidney, Remember one more day until the big weekend so be ready, Sidney looked at him and smiled, That’s all she could do, she was still stunned over what just took place in her kitchen. ok Ramsey, Goodnight, Goodnight Sid he replied back as he closed her door to leave.

  CHAPTER 18

  Friday was a busy day, and Sidney could tell the late night visit with Ramsey last night took a toll on him but did not stop either one of them from smiling at each other all day. They had been in the office most of the day, and Sidney tried so hard not to go into her internal monologues, but couldn’t help but wonder what would've happened if she would have offered for him to spend the night. Would things have gone further? Would he have continued to be a gentleman and slept on the couch? Before she could go into her next thought, her phone went off for like the 20th time in the last hour.

  It was John even with all the commotion that went on last night she still wasn’t sure what she wanted to do about her situation, Yes, Ramsey has been the one that was on her mind while she and John had split but was it because John was out of the picture? Sidney had never been so confused about anything in her entire life. Sidney decided to spend her lunch break talking to her best friend about the situation and to invite her to the party at the lake this weekend. Payge what do I do? Ramsey finally seems to be showing me exactly what I want in a man, and John is finally showing me the change I wanted in him when we were together.

  I am torn between two men Payge, Girl if every woman had this problem, most women can’t get one man let alone two. Payge Sidney exclaimed giggling! Ok Sidney, what does your heart say? Girl as long as I have known you have let your hormones run your love life and not your heart. It was never about who you thought you were in love with or might have a future with it, but who could give you the best orgasm. You need to start thinking about the long term as much as that scares you. Sidney sat back and took in what her friend was telling her to heart. Was she right? Was this really the first time her heart was louder than her hormones? She was starting to have true feelings for Ramsey, and she already knew she still has feelings for John, but was Payge right? She had never had sex with Ramsey, but that’s all she could think about with him, but it was more than just sex it was she loved being around him, just having him there to talk to always made everything seem a little better. Maybe she needed a chance to set ll the sex dreams that she had been having aside, and think of it long term like payge said. Sidney’s problem was that she loved the thrill of the chase, the thrill of being courted, the dirty talk and even dirty actions between the sheets. She never pegged herself as the wife or mother, and frankly just the thought frightened her. Thanks Payge, but I should get back to work,I have a lot to think about. Payge could tell that her words had truly had an effect this time on Sidney. We were kind of busy. I will see you tonight at the lake. Ok, Payge replied.

  On her way back to the office, she called her sister Sammy to see if she could quickly give her the run down and get her opinion on the situation, but she ended up getting the same speech from her sister that Payge gave her. Sidney actually started to think they were right.

  Should she reflect on another relationship? She doesn’t like being tied down, especially if it ended up the way it did with John. She was heartbroken when they split, just then she received a message,

  “Can’t wait to see you tonight Sidney,”

  It was John she had almost forgotten she invited him to the lake with them, Sidney replied

  “ I will message you the directions,”

  she finally pulled back up to the store and before she could get out she received another message from John, “

  I was kind of hoping I could follow you out there. Could we meet somewhere?”

  Sidney had to think about that question for a minute. She wasn’t ready for John to know where she was living, and then she thought to herself.

  Why didn’t she want him to know? She was thinking about jumping back into a relationship with him again. There is no reason she couldn’t tell him where she lived, so Sidney replied,

  “Yes meet me at my job and you can follow me back to my place, say 6:00 pm?”

  She got a reply almost instantly

  “See you then, can’t wait,”

  She smiled and turned her phone screen off as she entered the store. She looked up and was met with Ramsey’s gaze. Afternoon beautiful how was your lunch? He asked as she smiled and replied… It was well… informative to say the least. She replied. Ramsey then got a puzzled look on his face, but didn’t have time for interrogations, because he was preparing for them to hit the road for the rest of the evening doing service calls. Sidney put down her bags, picked up her utility belt, and followed Ramsey out the door. Sidney sat quietly listening
to the music in the truck and tried to keep her mind from wondering when they reached their first stop. Ramsey and Sidney always made a great team and always had since Sidney started her Job with the company.

  Ramsey had been employed there a year before Sidney had even started and he apparently didn’t play well with others, that all changed when Sidney started. He was the only technician that didn’t have a partner mostly because they would quit because he was hard to work with. Sidney didn’t see why she was given the warning since Ramsey was nothing but nice and a gentleman to her. Just like that, it hit her like a ton of bricks. She started having flashbacks of when she first started her entire career with the company and all the subtle little hints that proved Ramsey had always had feelings for Sidney. Sidney smiled as she came to the realization that Ramsey did have feelings for her this whole time just never expressed them out loud because of the rule at work. SIDNEY! Ramsey called out to her as he noticed she had zoned out again. Sidney quickly snapped to and looked up at Ramsey, Sorry Ramsey she said back to Ramsey,

  Who was holding a tool that he was trying to pass to her. Since he had secured and patched the lines they came to repair, Sorry Ramsey my mind is going a mile a minute right now, Ramsey smirked, that good huh? As he smirked at her, she tried not to show how good, but couldn’t help it. I don’t think it was that good, she snapped back, Ramsey slid down the line and came inches away from her face, and she felt her body quiver, Ramsey smiled, then leaned in like he was going to kiss her, and she leant forward anticipating it, eyes closed lips ready to receive another sweet kiss, as Ramsey then moved to the left and whispered “Do you need a reminder?”

  Sidney almost dropped all the tools she had on her hands. Sidney’s lips arched into a smile, that would be nice as she replied. Ramsey leaned back up towards her face, he leaned in to give her that reminder and at the last minute he tilted his head up and ever so sweetly kissed her forehead, maybe later sweetie lets finish up so we can get to the lake. Sidney smiled, and her face was bright red at the fact that he called her sweetie, she loved to hear it rolling off his lips, it sounded genuine and very sexy.

  They finished the last couple of jobs out on the road and began to back to the shop. When they arrived it was close to 6 pm so Sidney rushed to get back in to gather her things, as she began gathering the things from her desk and straightened up, she heard the door close, she quickly turned around to see Ramsey sitting with his back to the door. He had a half smirk on his face, it looked almost devious. Ramsey what are you doing? Oh, nothing someone is waiting for you outside. Her heart stopped for a minute. John she whispered to herself. Ramsey walked up to Sidney she gazed up at him, she instantly put her head down. Ramsey brushed a piece of hair out of her face and behind her ear before lifting her face with his hand and giving her a look that was almost as if he was looking into her soul. She loved the way he always seems to look through her into her heart instead of just at her. Just then Ramsey got his mouth close to her and began tracing her lips with his tongue,

  Sidney was so engulfed with desire, she sat back on her desk, quickly wrapped her arms around him feeling how amazing he felt in her arms, and how she could get used to this at that moment. Ramsey picked her up off the desk, and she wrapped her legs around him as he slammed her into the wall, Sidney thought to herself, this is finally happening she began unbuttoning his shirt to reveal his incredible physique. She knew even though he didn’t have a washboard stomach, that wasn’t important to her, that fact that he was well toned with nice broad shoulders strong legs and that he was taking complete control over her right now is all that she cared about.

  Ramsey lustfully ripped Sidney’s buttons off her shirt to expose her breast, which he carefully grabbed them out of the entrapments of her bra so that he could begin sucking on them as he played with the other. Sidney’s mind was blank. She threw her head back, she felt her body being whipped around and he carefully laid her down on his desk and whispered to her“ Sidney, I want you, I’ve always wanted you, Sidney’s breathing was fast, and she couldn’t get a word out if she tried, Ramsey then climbed on the desk completely pulling off his shirt, and then he leaned down and whispered in Sidney’s ear…

  “Can I have you?”

  The question sent a sharp chill up Sidney’s spine, YES! She exclaimed! At that moment she opened her eyes and almost jumped out of her skin to see John there with a confused look on his face.

  CHAPTER 19

  She looked around… How did I get to the lake she thought to herself? What the hell just… And before she could finish her sentence she realized she faintly remembered taking her car home, and John somehow coercing her into riding with him… She looked around as she shook her head. She was at the lake with John. She kept looking until she found… Ramsey she smiled, but Ramsey was talking to friends and wasn’t paying her any attention, Umm Hello! Earth to Sidney you with me?

  Are you zoning out while I am speaking to you? John said sternly at her. Well that’s rude! Sidney jumped at how loud John had gotten with her. She couldn’t believe he was making such a scene at a party with her and Ramsey’s friends. She always knew John had a bad temper, but he told her he had it under control. but after the display he was currently showing it was clear that he didn’t have it under control, not one bit. Look Sidney, you have to get over this little fantasy world you have to go on in your head and come back to reality, I am still in love you with you, I want to be with you, I’ve changed and I know you can still feel what we had. John then grabbed a hold of her face with both his hands and planted a not so gentle kiss on her lips. Just then Sammy stepped in with Payge at her side and they asked John if they could borrow Sidney seeing how uncomfortable she was with what he was doing to her. Sidney lets go inside so everyone can keep enjoying the party, Payge said to her.

  As they got inside Payge looked into Sidney’s eyes and asked Sidney, are you ok? As Sammy held her twin tightly to her. Yes! Yes! I am okay, Sidney said reassuring her sister and her friend that she was a little shocked but ok. are you sure Sammy asked again looking for reassurance? Sammy you can let me go, I am fine Sidney said, trying to reassure her friend and her sister that everything was ok. I am ok. I just need to figure out this triangle because it’s going to be the death of me. A few minutes later, Ramsey came into check on Sidney, Sidney smiled when she had seen him coming and couldn’t help but see the annoyed look on his face. Hi ladies, sorry we haven’t been properly introduced, my name is Ramsey Kelly, I am Sidney’s partner at work. Both girls smiled and grinned at that fact that he kissed the back of their hands as they introduced themselves to him. Are you ok Sidney? Yes, Ramsey I am ok. He has a little temper but never like that. Sidney said back to him. Ramsey couldn’t help but look at her and her twin. Ramsey began noticing that yes, they looked identical, but to him, he could tell who was who. Well, should we get back to the party everyone? Sidney asked everyone. Only if you want to Sammy shot back at her. Yes, as soon as they came outside John appeared out of nowhere and began immensely apologizing, Sidney, I never meant to hurt you I am so sorry. John said to her, Sidney could tell he was being sincere and accepted his apology. “John, I just want some space right now,” she told him as she walked away.

  Sidney went back to the kitchen to grab another beer and began thinking about what John had said. Leave her fantasy world? Doesn’t that mean, leave Ramsey as well? How am I ever going to choose between the two men? On one hand, minus the little blow-up, John did seem to have changed a bit. Then there was what Ramsey said about there is a reason things between John were in the past instead of being part of the future? Everyone deserves a second chance, right? Sidney would eventually have to make a decision. Tonight she was going to enjoy the party with Ramsey. Then after the weekend she would have to make a decision. She just needed time to make sure she was doing what was right for her heart and not her hormones. It was getting late, and people began to leave until all that was left were Ramsey, Payge, Sammy, and Sidney.

  John left a litt
le early due to having to work in the morning. Sidney asked Ramsey if he would mind giving her a few minutes with the last two guests, Ramsey nodded and went out on his boat and took a ride, Sidney explained her plan to Payge and Sammy, They both nodded and agreed that a decision had to be made and the only person that could make it was her. She had to go with her heart and not her hormones. This weekend she would get to know Ramsey a little better and try not to sleep with him. She had told her sister and her friend about the kiss. They immediately assumed all she saw in Ramsey was another notch in her belt. She assured them it wasn’t anything like that and promised she would use her heart for this and not what was between her legs.

  “It’s getting late, should we get settled in for the night?” Sidney asked as she made her way up to the room that she had claimed as hers, the last time they came up to the cabin. Just as Sidney finished getting dressed and was about to get into bed, she heard a knock at her door “Are you decent Sid?” Ramsey asked. As much as she wanted to say something flirty back to him she remembered her talk with her sister and Payge. “Yes, I am decent Ramsey you can come in.” She said. Ramsey entered the room just wearing a pair of basketball shorts, everything is all cleaned up. “I think I am going to head to bed.” Sidney said as she smiled. “The Party was a lot of fun. Thanks for letting me invite my friends.” “Anytime Sid,” Ramsey said as he cracked a smile. She slowly walked over to him and placed her hand on the sides of his face. Ramsey grabbed her wrists, sliding his hands down to her fingers as he kissed the back of her hands. Sidney looked confused. “We both have been drinking I think we both could see just the clear heads, we have right now to get some sleep.” Sidney tried to hide the disappointment on her face and just shook her head in agreeance. The rest of the weekend was difficult for to keep control. They went fishing, and swimming like he had promised. They caught a movie or two and Sunday as they were getting ready to head out there was a knock at the door. Ramsey went to answer and saw a dozen roses in the person's face, before John moved his face around to be seen.
