Fair Catch Page 26

by Ruddick, Jessica

“But we can’t separate them,” Ashley argued. “They’re brother and sister.”

I sighed. How could I say no to that? “Okay, but no more. Let’s get out of here before we end up with a cat room in our house.”

“Do they have names?” Rachel asked.

  “Duke and Duchess.”

Rachel threw her head back and laughed. “Princess Buttercup outranks them, then.”

I tucked her under my arm. “And you’re the queen who outranks them all,” I whispered.

Continuing to laugh, Rachel shook her head. “That was so cheesy.”

  “But you liked it.”

She brought her lips up to mine. “You know I did.”
