“You’re both wrong!” J.C called down to them…

“And you’re so damn smart!” Marley snorted at him.

“Smarter than you. Let’s just say I have a nose for these things,” he taped the side of his nose and Marley frowned. Then her eyebrows reached up for her hairline and her eyes came alive with amusement…

“A pup!” Luke yipped at the thought of being a father…

“Still want to dunk me?” Sage giggled with sheer happiness.

“Nah!” Luke growled gently as he brought his lips down on hers.

“Oh, that’s so cute!” Geri whispered as she started to tear up.

J.C jumped down from the branch and grinned in victory as he took a slow stroll towards the group. When he was by Marley’s side he leaned in and whispered.

  “Told ya!”

“You know what, Mr Smarty Pants…?” Marley offered back and J.C couldn’t help it when his victory grin transformed into a smirk.

“I know a lot of things, because I’m older, wiser, and…”

Marley had already called her magic right to her fingertips, all she needed to do was toss the man up through the air and drop his backside right in the lake … which she did with relative ease, but not until she’d bounced him head over heels across the top of the water…

  CHAPTER THIRTY FIVE

  ~

“Oh – my – Goddess!” Geri bit out, and Sage whooped with delight at the spectacle…

“Nice throw…” Sage said. “I especially liked how many skims you got out of him…”

“It could become the new sport for witches…” Marley offered back.

“Where is he?” Geri frowned when J.C didn’t immediate emerge from beneath the water.

“That’s a great idea. Vampire skimming…” Sage gasped in delight. “I love it!”

“I – don’t …” J.C spluttered as he pushed up out of the water and started back towards the bank.

“What? No sense of humour, vampire?” Chance chuckled…

Geri groaned on a huff, but then she lifted her hands and sent her mate flying through the air towards the lake. His backside hit the edge of the bank, and he only just skimmed over the top of the vampire before she dropped him like a rock…

  “You didn’t get enough height…” Sage offered…

“I choked…” Geri admitted, “but in for a penny…” she shrugged.

“You’ll do better next time.” Marley offered and Josh rolled his eyes skywards.

  “I’m not saying a word…” he grumbled.

“Fear of flying?” Sage grinned at him.

“Who threw the beta at my head?” J.C grumbled as he pulled himself out of the water and scowled at the witches.

  “Sage!” Geri rushed out.

“Did not, I’m a way better aim. I would have hit you…” Sage grinned.

“That I can believe…” J.C grumbled. Then he turned his dark stare towards Geri and she balked.

“Don’t look at me…” she said, lifting a hand and pointing it at Marley.

  “Geri…” J.C grumbled and the witch shrugged…

“Okay, it was me… but I’ll do better this time…” Geri said with a sparkled of mischief within her eyes as she lifted her hands, and J.C balked.

“Oh…” he was just about to run when her magic scooped him up in the air and she pushed with her magic, tossing him head over heels out into the water, and narrowly missing her mate by inches as the vampire roared at the sight of the shifter beneath him…

“Oh geez, Sage you’ve created a monster…” Marley berated her, and Sage’s chuckle was epic.

“About time the witch let loose with her wild side…” Sage offered back as they watched the vampire crash under the water…

“We should go…” Geri hissed. She’d enjoyed that, but she didn’t really want to be around when the vampire got back to shore…

“Hey, wait up!” Chance called out as he swam towards shore.

“Meet you at the house.” Geri called out as she rushed on ahead of the others.

“You can put me down now,” Sage giggled at her mate as he started to carry her towards home.

  “But, you’re pregnant…” Luke frowned.

“Geez, Luke, what are you going to do carry me around for nine months?” Sage chuckled.

“I guess.” He shrugged. “You do have a habit of falling over your own feet and getting into trouble at the drop of a hat. And no more driving…”

“What?” Sage grumbled. “Put me down I can bloody well walk!” She demanded, and when he didn’t readily comply she offered him the death glare…

  “Fine…” he grumbled.

Sage felt the ground beneath her feet and put her hands on her hips.

“Driving?” She demanded giving him a look of pure expectation…

“Not until the pup is…” Luke was adamant, but his eyes went wide and he rushed out a yelp as she swept him back up off of his feet and sent him flying right back into the lake again…

“And you can expect more of that if you keep up your male chauvinistic moronic ways!” She yelled after him. She turned on her heels and found Marley scowling back at her… “What?”

“He is right about your driving…” Marley shrugged and Josh chuckled.

“And then some…” Josh nodded. Sage snapped her eyes to the alpha and raised just one eyebrow… “I’m going to go on ahead and stoke up the barbecue…

“Seriously?” Sage demanded of Marley as the alpha took off after Geri.

  “Seriously.” Marley offered back.

“My driving is not that bad…” Sage tossed up a hand on a huff.

“Let me put it this way… you drive better drunk!” Marley chuckled and Sage wrinkled her nose and sighed.

  “Yeah, probably.” She conceded.

“So … pregnant…” Marley grinned from ear to ear.

“I don’t know if I’m grown up enough to be a mother…” Sage whined.

“You’re mid twenties. You had to grow up at some point.” Marley offered back…

“Sage…” Luke grumbled as he came up behind her and she turned on a scowl. “You’re not driving…” He growled out, putting his foot down once and for all…

“Yeah,” she sighed out. “You’re right.”

Luke snapped his head back on his neck and a scowl appeared on his forehead as he twisted his head on his neck and eyed his mate.

“I am?” He said with disbelief.

  “You’re not?” She offered back.

“I… umm … I am!” He nodded fast.

He was unsure about what just happened. He was more used to pitching something close to a military campaign against her to get her to see things his way…

“I guess you just tamed her wild side…” J.C said as he patted the beta on the back…

  “I did?” Luke looked lost.

“That’s a good thing,” Marley offered with a snigger.

“I know!” Luke agreed, but he still didn’t look too sure. Sage grinned.

“Now where is Geri?” J.C grumbled as he started on ahead of them.

“Be nice!” Sage called after the vampire. “She’s only just found her wild side, let her enjoy it a little.”

“What about you?” Marley asked. “Are you going to miss your wild side?”

“Nah, I guess I still get to play hide and seek, just with my very own pup.” She grinned.

  The End.
