Sam shrugged off his shirt, undoing his belt hurriedly, and then he was naked too, having shucked off his pants angrily when they didn’t seem like they were going to come off anytime soon.
“You know how to do this, right?” Matthew asked worriedly. Sam paused for a moment before reaching into the nightstand and rummaging through the drawers. Lubricant. He uncapped the lid and poured a healthy amount into his palm, staring at his own fingers in fascination before meeting Matthew’s trembling mouth with a wet open kiss. He sucked Matthew’s bottom lip hard enough to bruise and then flipped him over so that Matthew was on all fours, leaning forward on his elbows, his ass pushed up in the air.
Sam was all over him in the blink of an eye, licking down his thighs and up the indentations of his spine. He slipped a thick finger and groaned as it sank all the way inside. He twisted it around a few times, making Matthew hiss and jump, rolling his hips in tight little circles, until Sam’s fingertip brushed his prostate. “Can you take more?” Sam asked, voice ragged. He rubbed inside until Matthew felt himself beginning to leak.
Matthew nodded frantically.
“I can smell you,” Sam said, sounding awed. The second finger joined the first one in a smooth stroke, easing the way before a third one was added. “You like this, being taken?”
Matthew clenched around his fingers, shuddering. He let out a desperate whimper as Sam pulled back his hand, looking over his shoulder with blurry eyes to see Sam slicking up his cock with lube. Then he pulled Matthew to him by the hip, easing him open by parting his ass cheek with one rough hand and pressing the fat head of his cock against his hole, just lingering there, teasing Matthew until he squirmed impatiently.
Sam slid in in small increments and Matthew tried to relax, focusing on the pleasant burn of Sam’s cock stretching him wide. And then about halfway, Sam slid all the way inside with a rough breath, filling him in one stroke, grabbing his hips so he couldn’t pull away even if he wanted to.
Matthew’s grip tightened in the sheets. He sagged against his forearms, feeling wholly surrendered and complete, Sam’s cock buried deep inside him. He rubbed his cock against the blankets, a small wet pool filling as Sam began moving his hips, pulling back without warning, before mounting him again and grinding down hard.
Matthew could hear the slick slap of skin as Sam pounded into him. The bed creaked and Sam leaned over him to suck on the shell of his ear, his thrusts never slowing down, only increasing in speed.
“Tell me to stop,” he whispered into Matthew’s ear, nuzzling it. “And I’ll stop.”
“Fuck,” was all Matthew could say as Sam pulled out to let him enjoy the slick drag of his cock slowly pushing in before he had time to recover.
“Yeah, sweetheart,” Sam moaned, sliding even deeper. “Just take it. Take that fat cock. You gonna come for me?”
Matthew pushed back against him, sitting on his cock, wriggling in his lap as Sam held him by the hips, biting him with blunt teeth on the shoulder. He left a wet hickey and reached for Matthew’s chest to tweak a nipple between his thumb and forefinger. Matthew bobbed a little faster on his lap, Sam’s cock still buried inside him, making him so loose and so full; “I’m close,” he whined. “So close.”
“Want to see you come,” groaned Sam, his body shaking behind Matthew. He pulled back with some difficulty and a great deal of groaning, before turning Matthew around and pushing him onto his back so he was lying facing Sam.
Matthew smirked up at him and spread his legs, lifting his knees invitingly, holding himself open to get a rise of out of Sam, his hole wet and glistening with precome and lube. Sam licked his lips hungrily and pushed Matthew’s knees up to his ears, hands heavy under his thighs, branding him.
Matthew felt so sore and empty without Sam cock filling him up that the second Sam pushed inside, he let out a soft noise of contentment almost like a sigh. Sam hefted Matthew’s leg over one shoulder and wrapped the other one around his waist as he shoved back in – hard, with a possessive growl.
“Yes,” Matthew moaned, “ Fuck me harder .”
He cried out as Sam rutted, his arms falling weakly at his sides as he let himself be used, Sam’s pounding thrusts increasing their rhythm the harder he begged for it.
Sam didn’t even have to touch Matthew’s cock before he was coming his head off, spurting in hot waves as Sam continued to pump his hips and drive in deep with a loud grunt. And then he was finished after what felt like an eternity, emptying himself of every drop, his come hot and thick inside Matthew as he let Matthew have all of it, keeping him in place with his fingers curled tight around Matthew’s hips.
Sam pulled away, spent, and Matthew glanced down absently as come dribbled from his thigh. He felt weak and boneless, but so intensely sated that he put up no protest when Sam smoothed a hand down his thigh and bit a little at the skin, leaving a mark as he sucked.
“Greedy,” Matthew chastised him, hissing, fangs emerging. He had to slap Sam upside the head to get him to stop.
Sam looked up, looking sheepish, before crawling against Matthew’s side and cuddling up against him. He wasn’t warm anymore, which Matthew found both oddly comforting and sad. They were just like each other now: hopeless.
Sam kissed his shoulder as if sensing his thoughts and squeezed him three times. He was heavy but snug around Matthew, wrapped around him like a vice. “I hope this doesn’t mean I can’t eat garlic anymore,” he said from somewhere above Matthew’s head, voice oddly fond, traces of the earlier him ebbing away. “Because I love garlic in my food. I love curry.”
Matthew shifted, trying to look him in the eye but the angle was too strange and Sam wouldn’t relinquish his grip. “No,” he finally said, defeated. “That’s just a myth.”
“Good,” Sam murmured, and then tucked Matthew under his chin like a little doll. Matthew fell asleep to his loud snoring.

There was someone at the door. Matthew, still hazy with sleep, elbowed Sam on the side and twisted out of the circle of his arms. Sam moaned and tugged him back in disapproval, but then there was a knock on the door and Matthew groused at him to answer it. It was probably too late to sleep in; the moon was out, the stars were shining under the haze of city fog, but Matthew couldn’t be bothered getting up.
The knock came again, louder. Sam grumped as he shoved his feet into a pair of moccasins and pulled on a pair of pants. There was the comforting sound of his footsteps down the hall. He opened the door to muffled conversation, and there was a yell and a loud thud, and the distinct smell of fear. Matthew rushed out in panic to see Perry holding a stake above Sam’s face. The silver cross dangling from a chain around Perry’s neck burnt Sam’s skin where the edge hovered over his collarbone.
Perry leaned over him on the floor, Sam’s hips straddled securely, trying to drive the sharp point of the stake into his chest.
“I knew it was only a matter of time,” Perry said. He had tears in his eyes and was mumbling feverishly. “I knew. As soon as I saw you.”
Matthew grabbed a chair and slammed it against him. Perry let out a cry of pain and then rolled off of Sam. He twitched, gasping like a fish out of water before passing out, head rolling to the side.
“He was going to kill you,” Matthew said lamely as Sam scrambled back on his feet to check on Perry. The next five seconds as Sam crouched over his brother, looking for a pulse, was excruciating, Matthew fearing he’d killed him and Sam would murder him in turn.
But then Sam let a sigh of relief before leaning back on his palms. He rubbed his forehead.
“He’s alive,” he said. “Just unconscious. We probably have to call a hospital though.” His eyes never left Perry’s face while he spoke. He looked kind of sad but he smiled up at Matthew gamely before lifting up a hand so Matthew could help him up. “We could just say he was mugged or something.”
Matthew nodded. He felt strangely numb.
Sam ran his gaze appreciatively down Matthew’s chest, his lips curling in delig
hted amusement. “Hey,” he said, eyes dipping lower, and that made Matthew instantly look up from Perry’s prone form on the floor. “You’re still naked.”

Sam sipped his coffee and handed Matthew a cup of his own, steaming and rich. They were in the waiting room of the hospital, sitting on an old lumpy couch flanked by matching potted plants. Sam finished his cup and then crushed it in his hand, dunking it into a nearby bin. “Tastes different now,” he said, not without a tinge of regret. He checked his watch: 3:12 AM. “We should probably get going before the sun comes up.”
“ We? ” Matthew asked, surprised at the suggestion. “Where do you think we could go?”
“I don’t know,” Sam said, scratching his temple. “Home?”
He meant his flat. Matthew didn’t touch his coffee and let it sit in his lap, warming his hands, pretending he could absorb it if he tried hard enough. He set it aside a minute later. “Things will be different from now on,” he said. “For you.”
“I’m only beginning to realize that,” Sam admitted. “This probably means I can’t surf anymore. I’ll miss it, I think. I like surfing. But maybe I can do it at night. You know, heightened senses and everything. Don’t vampires have sonar like bats?”
Matthew gave him a sidelong glance. Sam smiled gently, leaning against the cushions, bumping their shoulders. It made something inside Matthew settle into place. “I can’t believe you went to med school,” he said, snorting. He watched a nurse roll a cart of supplies across the room.
“Graduated with honors.” Sam beamed proudly.
“Doubtful,” said Matthew. They were quiet again after that, letting the bustle of hospital life flow around them. Slowly, Sam sat up and curled his pinky around Matthew’s on the seat between them. He hooked them together, squeezing, and didn’t meet Matthew’s questioning gaze.
“I don’t blame you, if that’s what you’re thinking. I figure, just roll with punches, you know? I turned. It sucks-no offense,” he laughed at the indignant expression on Matthew’s face, “But neither of us intended for this to happen and sulking about it isn’t going to do either of us any good. I’ll learn to deal with it eventually. I’m still in shock. But I think,” He cast Matthew a hopeful look, his eyes crinkling in the corners. “I think maybe if you showed me the ropes, it wouldn’t be so bad. You could be my mentor. Or something.”
Matthew mulled it over for a long while. Sam made it sound easy. The offer was tempting and the way Sam was grinning at him didn’t help. “Vampires don’t hunt in packs. We’re solitary creatures,” he said.
“Really?” said Sam. “You’ve never been a good vampire to begin with. Why start adhering to the status quo now?”
Matthew laughed. Sam grinned at him, wider, baring his teeth teasingly, retracting them before anyone saw. He stood up and held out his hand.
“I know where all the blood is kept in the hospital,” he told Matthew, as if it were the most normal thing in the world. And maybe it was for the both of them. “We could sneak in and steal it. If you want. I’m starving. Aren’t you?”
Matthew took his proffered hand, pulling himself up to his feet. Sam was practically vibrating with giddiness, and Matthew felt it too, a profound warmth in his toes.
“Race you there,” Sam said. He was gone, a blur of limbs down the hall. Matthew waited for a few seconds before following after him, hands in his pockets, strolling casually. They still had an hour to spare before the sun rose fully, and their entire lives before them to figure things out.
Sam tossed him a warm bag of blood as he locked the door behind him. “Can I watch?” he asked. “Or is that still not allowed?”
Matthew shrugged and figured there’d be no harm in letting him. “I thought this was private,” Sam said as Matthew slurped the bag’s contents, licking the corners of his lips.
“It still is,” Matthew said and Sam smiled.
