His New Roommate : Stepbrother Standalone Romance

“Yeah, some of us have to work, sweet cheeks. Now can you get out of my way?” He looks at me and then to the door behind me. “Unless you want something?”
My eyes involuntarily fall on his crotch before shooting back to his face. He smirks at me before I move to the side.
“Not a chance in hell,” I mutter. I don’t entirely believe myself. I want to fight the urge, but something is pulling me toward him.
He takes another look at me before he shrugs his massive shoulders. “Suit yourself. You’re missing out.” He moves past me and walks out the door. Just as the door is about to swing shut, his hand grabs hold and his brown hair pops back inside. “The name is Blake, sweet cheeks.” His eyes fall down my body one more time before he slinks back outside.
I open my mouth to shout at him, but he’s long gone by the time I can figure out what to say. I make my way to the women’s locker room and open mine. A cluster of different emotions surges through me, but there are two that ring louder than of the others.
Lust and regret.
“I didn’t expect to hear from you so soon,” Alex says, “especially after you hung up on me.”
She’s not going to drop that for a while. She hates when I hang up on her, on the rare occasion that it happens. Over the years, I’ve learned that it’s her pet peeve. And I might or might not use it when she gets on my own nerves.
“Sorry about that. I was a little overwhelmed at the time.” Still am. I pour myself a glass of red wine and look around at the piles and piles of moving boxes. This is going to be a long night and that has little to do with the moving boxes. “I need to run something by you.”
“Oh?” Alex genuinely sounds curious. It’s not often that I’m so forward when I ask for advice. “Is the know-it-all Rose coming to me for help? Me of all people? Who would have guessed,” she laughs.
“Are you done?” I hold back a chuckle. “I just figured this might be something you were more experienced with.”
“Okay, now my interest is piqued. What do you have for me?” I can practically imagine Alex jumping onto her bed, legs swinging behind her as she waits with anticipation. It feels like we’re in high school and I’m about to dish out some hot, juicy gossip.
It doesn’t take long to give Alex the run down. She doesn’t interrupt much, only when she needs to burst into laughter at my inexperience.
“And that’s pretty much it. I doubt that I’ll run into him again.” The apartment building has 40 floors and over 20 rooms on each floor. I know because I counted it myself. Trying to convince myself that I won’t meet him again. The chance of meeting him is slim to none. If I’m careful, I can avoid him for a long time.
That idea doesn’t please me. I close my eyes and the shape of his cock forms in my mind. I run my tongue along my lips and feel the heat rush between my legs. I won’t be able to sleep until I get it out of my system tonight.
“You missed out on one important detail.” Alex brings me back to reality. “How big is he?” I can almost picture the big smirk on her face.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” It’s easier just to play dumb with Alex sometimes.
“Bullshit! He had his cock basically swinging in your face and you didn’t see it?”
“I saw part of it,” I admit, hoping that it’s enough to get her off my back. I didn’t want to think about it. Not now, at least.
“That big, huh?” Alex laughs. “So, are you going to track him down? He seemed interested in you.”
“He was only interested in me because I was the only one there and in the men’s locker room. And no, I’m not going to track him down.” Blake couldn’t have possibly wanted me.
I’m not the kind of girl that he’s into. I’m curvier around the edges than whatever his type is. That much I’m sure of.
“Does it matter? You’re in dire need of a quick and hard fuck. Sounds like Blake is just up your alley.”
“You know that I’m not like that. I can’t just throw myself at everyone who looks at me.” I think of how Blake looked at me in the locker room, his eyes devouring every inch of my body. The raw hunger in his face as he licked at his lips. I can’t help but think that that wasn’t something he normally did.
“Ro, you’ve got to live a little. You can’t be the good girl all your life. It doesn’t work like that anymore.” I down the last of the wine from the glass, pouring myself another. Alex’s words strike deep down.
Maybe she has a point. Maybe I do have to live a little. Spending a night with someone like Blake couldn’t be the worst thing.
“Do you want me to come over? If we start knocking on every door in the apartment, we can find your mystery lover by the end of the night,” she gays, giggling.
“Oh god, no. That reeks of desperation,” I blurt.
“Girl, at this point, beggars can’t be choosers,” she quips back. “And you can do a lot worse than Blake.”
It’s rare that it happens, but Alex does have a point. I’m not going to admit that to her, though. She’d never let me live it down.
Chapter 3
Blake
I slam the door and lean against it. I take a moment to get myself together before I walk into the kitchen. I grab a cup and fill it with cold water. I need something to cool down after that exchange.
Why can’t I get her out of my head? Every time I blink, two images pop into my mind. Sweet cheek’s big, round brown eyes. And those luscious curves of her body.
I sigh and gulp down the rest of the water. It does nothing to take away the fire inside me. I’ve been inside buildings that are on fire, on the brink of collapse, and it doesn’t compare to the heat that I felt between Rose and me.
I can’t do this right now. My shift at the station starts in fifteen minutes. At this point I’m going to be late regardless and get my ass chewed out. I need to focus. The last thing that I need is to be off my game if I need to run into a burning building. Although, thinking of Rose right before that happens wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world.
What the fuck is wrong with me?
“How was the gym?” Max, my roommate, asks. He comes up behind me and pats me on the back and grabs his work bag off the counter. “Manage to lift anything heavier than 25 pounds?” He laughs.
“Hands off,” I say and shrug away from him.
Max holds his hands in the air out and to the side. “Woah, someone’s in a bad mood. Did you forget to eat today?” Max walks over to the counter, grabs an apple, and bites into it. He tosses me one and it nearly flies out of my fingers.
“Not today.” Usually Max’s taunting doesn’t gets on my nerves. Today is different. Maybe it has to do with the fact that I’m mad at myself. I should have gotten her number. I’m going to regret it for the rest of the week, especially if I don’t see her again.
“Whatever is going on, don’t bring that shit back to the station. I won’t stand for it.”
Max and I work at Fire Station 69 in the Big Apple. I couldn’t believe our luck at the time when we got assigned to number 69, of all the stations. It was almost too good of a draw. It’s also a hell of a pick-up line when I talk to the ladies. Although, just letting them know I’m a firefighter is usually enough to get me laid.
Max Johnson is my roommate and my superior, at least on paper and only at the station. We graduated at the same time. He took the sergeant test and passed with flying colors, of course. I woke up late and managed to miss the mark by one point. Not that it mattered to me at the time. Until Max got assigned to the same shift as me. He never fails to remind me that he’s in charge of me.
“I’ll be good. I just need to take a shower.” I clutch my bag close to my back. If I’m going to be late for work, might as well be fashionably late.
“Don’t you usually take a shower at the gym?” he asks, but I slam the door to the bathroom behind me.
I need to release. To get the aggression out before I go to work. Anything to get her out of my head.
Th
e way she panicked when my cock hung inches from her mouth. The adorable grin she gave me when I caught her staring at my crotch. The way her yoga pants hugged those tight curves of hers.
I never get this hung up over a random girl. Especially not a girl that I barely know.
Yet there’s something different about Rose. Everything she did in that locker room pulled me toward her. I’d never wanted someone so much in my life. And I also wasn’t used to being turned down.
I close my eyes and I can feel her in my arms. Her petite, curvy body pressed against me. Those brown eyes looking at me, Rose biting down on her lip as she bobs against my chest. The soft, subtle smell of her perfume wafting into my nose.
That girl had curves in all the right places. And I messed it up.
That won’t happen again. Not if I have anything to say about it.
“Rose,” I stutter, bringing a hand down to my stiff cock. It’s been stiff as a board since I left the locker room.
Her name hangs in the air and brings her features to the forefront of my mind. The cold water from the shower hits my back and does nothing to dissipate the heat inside of me.
I focus on those sweet cheeks of hers. If only she would have taken me on my proposition. There would have been no hesitation on my part. I could tell that she wanted me.
The way her forehead scrunched up as she thought my words over. Probably trying to figure out if I was serious or not. The way her eyes skimmed across my body as she thought it through, biting down on her lip when her eyes fell on my crotch.
The subtle sweat on her forehead when she walked into the locker room. The glow in her eyes when she struggled to look away from my cock.
Just thinking about it makes me harder than steel. I stroke up and down my length, her tits on my mind. Those succulent, pouty lips of hers wrapped around my cock.
Her words bleeding into my mind. Pleading for me to take her in that locker room.
“Take me,” Rose moans as she charges into me. Her small body presses against me, knocking me into the lockers behind. She’s stronger than she looks.
I drop my backpack on the floor and kick it away. I need space to work with her. I want to devour every inch of her body. I won’t stop until I have my fill.
My fingers clutch the bottom of her elastic shirt and pull it over her head. Her tits bounce in front of me and I knead them. Swiftly taking them into my mouth. A whimper escapes her as her fingers run through my hair.
“More,” she moans. “I want more.”
I don’t argue with her. It’s what I want. She paces back, taking me along with her. My hands holding onto her breasts, not wanting to leave her body. She leans over and turns the lever, the hiss of water breaking through the moans and grunts. The steam fills the small shower room.
I turn her over against the cold, marble tiling. Her hands fly up above her, clinging to the wall. My fingers tug at her yoga pants, pulling them down her body. My hands grip those sweet cheeks of hers, spreading them and giving me a look at her peach.
“This is what I want.” I tug at her panties and they tear from her body. “I want you now,” I growl.
I spin her around and kiss her neck, my stiffness pressing against her stomach. She takes it into her hand and strokes it, spreading the precum. Her hands are soft and gentle against my length. My lips dig into her neck and I can’t take it anymore.
I press down on the top of her head. She fights my touch at first, smirking at me. The same smirk I gave her before. Her lips press against my chest as her hand runs along my stomach, feeling my ripples. Slowly, she makes her way down my body, peppering it with the slowest and most sensual kisses of my life. By the time, she gets to my cock, I’m about to explode.
She opens her mouth and inches toward my tip. I’m on the tip of my toes, my fingers running through her wet hair. Her lip quivers as it gets closer. And closer. I fight the urge to force her onto me. When I can feel her breath on me, she looks up and smiles.
“Is this what you want?” She strokes me one time, a bead of precum coming out.
“Yes,” I utter through clenched teeth. “Yes, it is.”
She tilts her head to the side and looks at my cock. There’s hunger in her eyes. She wants this as much as I do.
“Are you sure?”
My hands grab hold behind her head and push her onto me. She doesn’t fight me. The warmth of her mouth runs up my body, hotter than the hot water running down my legs. I hold her head still while I stroke into her mouth over and over, her tongue lashing underneath.
“Oh, sweet cheeks,” I mutter under my breath. This is better than anything I’d ever experienced before. Words almost can’t describe what I’m feeling.
I don’t want to bust until I feel every part of her. I growl in frustration and grab hold of her. She looks at me as I push her against the wall, spreading her legs open. A whine leaves her lips as my head presses against her entrance. She’s tighter than anything I’ve ever felt before.
She leans over, her tits pressing against the marble wall, and plays with her clit. She wiggles her ass from side to side, letting me feel more of her warmth.
“Give it to me,” she moans, my cock at her entrance. I can feel the heat between her legs. Her red velvet tightness at my tip.
“Yo, hurry the fuck up in there. We’re going to be late if you take any longer,” Max shouts, banging on the door.
FUCK! I pound my fist against the wall.
“All right. All right,” I shout back.
For fuck’s sake. I turn off the shower and hop out. My cock wobbles between my legs in anger like a needle in a compass. If only it would lead me to Rose.
Chapter 4
Max
This night can’t drag on any longer. I’m tired of greeting every random person that I see. Being here is more than enough, but having to listen to their complaints about the fire department is more than I can handle. Most of the places that they’re complaining about have nothing to do with me. I’m just a sergeant, so I can’t do anything about having fancier ambulances.
“We’ll get right on that, Ma’am,” I repeat for the umpteenth time tonight. I excuse myself as she opens her mouth. I need a drink. Anything to drown out the mundanity of it all.
Charity events are a requirement for upper brass in the Fire Department. It’s to drum up support for what we do. And for the most part, I can get under that. Unlucky for me, I’m required to attend every upcoming charity event since the newest sergeant. And I don’t get any overtime for this, which is the biggest bummer.
I don’t even know why I took the sergeant test. More responsibility and barely anymore pay than Blake.
I smile to myself. Bossing Blake around is a perk in its own right. Fucking around with him and knowing he can’t talk back is something that I relish. I don’t do it all the time, but enough where I can get on his nerves.
I don’t want to mess up what we have. We’ve been through thick and thin since we were kids, living on the same shitty block in the same run down building. The place we live now is miles and miles better than what we had as kids. Most people don’t see it that way, but Blake and I count our blessings.
Living in a shit-hole like that made me appreciate everything in life. The only good thing that came out of that place was getting to be part of the Blaze Brigade. A program to help young, troubled, inner city youth by showing them careers to aspire to. That just happens to be the event that I’m here for tonight. So, it isn’t all bad.
People nod in my direction as I make my way to the bar. I’m dressed to the nines. I hold next to my waist my white fireman hat. A navy blue suit hugs my six foot four body. Never in my life have I worn such expensive clothes — also paid by the city. The uniform is enough to turn the heads of even the pompous rich girls that walk around. I enjoy the double take, but I don’t indulge. I’m on duty tonight.
Being a firefighter is the best decision I’ve made in my life. I like the respect and honor that comes with the job. Blake likes
the attention he gets from women. His reasons for doing it aren’t as noble, but I can’t blame him. Being a fireman has helped me as well, although I doubt that I need it.
I walk up to the bar. “Whiskey, no ice.” The bartender smiles and nods.
Open bar. Another perk to add to the list. I’m not supposed to be drinking, since I’m representing Station 69, but that doesn’t mean I can’t have a drink here or there. The department is loose on the rules, if I don’t go out of my way to be a complete idiot.
I take a sip as Mayor Frank Collins takes the stage. For as long as I can remember, he’s been the mayor of this city. He’s up for reelection in a couple weeks.
He thanks everyone for coming. All the rich snobs in the room hang onto every word that falls from his lips. Clapping every time he finishes a sentence. Not like I expect anything less. Most of the people here are his supporters, aside from a few media outlets.
I hadn’t made up my mind about him yet. As a representative of the Fire Department, I wasn’t allowed to give my opinion — out loud, at least. Most of the public seems to adore him. They can’t wait to reelect him.
I’m not convinced. Not when he talks about cutting our pensions. That’s not something I want fucked around with. That could mess my family up, whenever I decide to have one.
I set the empty glass down and tip the bartender. The first tip of the night for him. All these rich people and none of them want to part with their money.
My eyes skim the stage, taking in every one of the entourage. I almost miss her, until I do a double take. A sensation courses through me, something I haven’t felt before.
There’s only one thought in my mind.
Absolutely drop dead gorgeous.
Tight black dress that hugs her body. Hair set in a tight bun. Red lipstick that makes her lips shimmer under the lights behind her. She’s easy to miss. They’ve placed her at the back of the stage, behind everyone else. I can’t understand why. She’s clearly the most beautiful girl up there. Would make for some great photo shoots.
