“This is a decent little establishment you have here, Mister Goode Brother.” She waved her hand at his hard-earned finery like she was used to seeing much better everyday. “Thank you for inviting me.”
“My pleasure, Mizz Jewelz,” Goody nodded. “And thanks for coming. But before we take this any further lemme go ’head and apologize about how I spoke to you at the club the other night, a’ight? A nigga like me is naturally on point and suspicious of people who ask a lotta questions. Especially when those questions are coming from a beautiful woman, since that’s every man’s weakness to some degree,” Goody said still giving her that million-dollar smile.
Jewelz smiled back and nodded like she knew she was all that. “I hear what you’re saying, but my only motive was to put you up on game and not deceive you. It was pure strategy, you feel me? I already knew I was gonna win the contest, therefore I would get paid and you would be the first to get the credit for recognizing my superior talent.”
She laughed and her eyes flashed at him sexily. “And see? I was right. You called me down here and you already offered me a contract, so I must have done something right.”
Goody was stunned speechless as she uncrossed and re-crossed her long legs. He was leaning toward her with his mouth slightly gaped, in a daze, like he was getting high from the sweet fumes coming off her pussy.
“Oh, and by the way, apology accepted,” Jewelz said in her sexy-savvy way. She glanced around again, thinking this wide-open nigga was lucky she didn’t feel like snuffing his ass right then and there. She could almost kinda see herself in a corporate headquarters working for a big Fortune 500 company negotiating hostile takeovers. This nigga didn’t even know how hostile she was! She would take his whole life over from right under his nose! The same way he had taken over hers!
Jewelz shrugged off the urge to kill him as she reminded herself to stay focused on the larger goals at hand. Revenge was sweet, but she was in the murder business and nothing gave her the type of thrill and exhilaration that annihilating a target did.
Her confident, sexy swag was throwing fuel on the fire that was burning inside of Goody. He knew he couldn’t win her over with the flashy shit or the cash. He could tell she was sassy and wanted her own shit on her own terms. He had to admire it.
“I like the way you think, Mizz Jewelz, and if you agree to join my record label it would be my pleasure to start a flourishing business relationship with you. I know you’re gonna have your own lawyer look over the contract, but I can assure you that if there are any changes you want made,” Goody promised, “I’ll put my lawyer on it immediately. Now, with that shit outta the way may we make a toast to our future together?”
Goody got up and walked over to a bar that was built right into the wall. He pulled out a gold bottle of Ace of Spades champagne and held it up for her approval.
Jewelz nodded, pretending not to catch the subliminal message in his words as she played along.
“I’m down with that,” she answered sweetly as he poured.
Just as they tapped glasses in a celebratory toast, Goody’s cell phone rang. He looked down at his screen and saw it was one of his partners from a main stash house.
“Please excuse me for a moment, Jewelz,” Goody said as he walked over to the glass-enclosed engineering room. “I need to take this call real quick.”
“Yo, w’sup lil homey? What’s the problem?” Goody barked once he was behind the closed door. It was one of his young’uns named Tony, and since Tony was Goody’s best ear out on the street, Goody had sent him on a little fact-finding mission.
“Everything’s a’ight out here in the field,” Tony said, “but I got a lil sumpin on that rapper chick you asked me to check out.”
“Well, give it up, nigga,” Goody said, eyeing Jewelz through the glass door. “Give it up!”
“Yo, man, that chick used to be an enforcer for Bajan Andy and his set. You know they had them loud packs on deck, and Jewelz used to make sure every shipment was on point for them. Andy told me she had the meanest gun game he’d ever seen. On a chick or a nigga. Then one day she upped and said she was done with all that shit and she disappeared. Word on the street is that she’s retired. They say she’ll still pop up in a club ere’ now and then and tear the mic down, but when it’s over she just takes the prize money and vanishes again. I couldn’t find out where she rests her head or who she’s eating with now. But Haitian Tisha said she was a penny-pincher. A squirrel stacking nuts. She lived at her crib for a minute, and Tisha said she’s the type of chick who stashed all her cheese and stayed about her business.”
Goody nodded. “Good work, my dude. That’s more info than I had on her before she walked in my studio. Let Andy know I said good lookin out and make sure you tell him to let me know what the prices are on them kush clouds he got.”
“I got you Big Bro,” Tony said. “I’ll hit ya later.”
Goody walked back into the lounge where Jewelz was waiting. He knew Bajan Andy was a thorough nigga from the hood. The fact that Jewelz had worked for him gave strong validation to what his gut already told him. She was a stand-up bitch. It turned Goody on even more to know that she looked this good and could work a ratchet too. He loved the aura of mystery that surrounded Jewelz, and it beckoned him to her and made him want to learn more about this beautiful, and no doubt dangerous creature.
“Sorry I took so long,” Goody said as he crossed the room and calmly sat down across from Jewelz. “One of my little homeys was handling some business for me that I had to attend to.”
“That’s quite alright,” she said, sliding her cell phone back inside her purse. She had tried Slick’s number again, and when he didn’t answer she had clicked over and connected to an incoming call. “I had to take a call of my own,” she said sweetly.
Jewelz picked up a pen and then leaned toward him and gave him a deep look. “So, Mr. Goody, tell me before I put my name on this contract, are you just some regular hoodlum with a couple of bucks and a studio who’s trying to live out his ‘CEO of a record label’ fantasy? Because I refuse to put my name on some shit and six months later, God forbid, you get hit with some type of reckless charge and I’m stuck in a contract and hung out to dry.”
Her tone was dead serious and the look on her face told Goody she was far from impressed with his set up.
“I mean,” she continued, “I know nothing is promised in this game we’re playing, but I need to know that you actually have a real plan, along with having the nuts and the smarts to carry out that plan.”
Goody was totally impressed!
“Damn, Jewelz!” he said, laughing. “You keep a nigga on his toes don’t you? I can appreciate that, and since we’re on the topic of my nuts and my heart, let me clarify a few things for you.”
He scooted his chair closer so he could run shit down to her properly. “First of all, I like to think of myself as a diamond in the rough. I used to be a skinny-ass, never-had-a-penny-ass nigga. Typical upbringing in the projects, all signs pointing to the graveyard or the bing. I got sent upstate and did some hard time and I’m not bitter about that shit. I’m not angry, and nor do I feel sorry for myself. All my hardships I use as pure motivation. I feel I was born and built to be even better than I am right now. I’m just using this druggin and thuggin shit as a platform to achieve my bigger goals. Success is my drug of choice and I can’t get enough of it. That’s my addiction!” Goody said with mad conviction in his eyes.
“I’m able to do what these other niggas out here can’t do because I put it all on the line. I go hard in the trenches every single time, like I ain’t got shit to lose. If I fail then fuck it, statistics show I was supposed to fail anyway right?”
“But what’s real is, the hood dictates who and what’s hot in this industry. The streets set the trends, the standards, and the lingo, so the streets say who’s real and who’s not.”
He paused to flash her a quick grin. “Trust, baby girl, I am the streets, and I’m as real as it gets. I
m not one of them dumb niggas who jumps off a diving board without checking to make sure there’s water in the pool! I’m the heart of the hood,” Goody bragged. “These niggas out here love me and they fear me. I have the perfect combination of all attributes, and everything about me is strategic. I make it my mission to learn everything there is to know about my playing field, its strengths, its weaknesses, and its needs. I feel like with the right team behind me, and of course the right talent, I can crush this music shit!”
He stared at her deeply. “And that’s where you come in, Mizz Jewelz. New York is ready for some new blood, a brand new wave. And somebody on my squad is gonna fill that gap.”
Jewelz held his gaze sensing that he truly believed in himself and his dreams. Too bad he probably wouldn’t live to see none of that shit come to fulfillment. She knew Goody hadn’t gotten this far by being an idiot though, so she would have to be on her A-game at all times.
She nodded. “I can admire your ambition, and of course your reputation out here precedes you. I’m sure by now you did your homework on me and you can see I’m not exactly an angel or a fairy princess myself. I’m all about doing whatever it takes to make shit shake out here. It’s a pit-eat-poodle world and can’t nobody breathing tell me I can’t eat.”
She flashed him a fake grin. “So I hope you meant everything you said and you not selling me no dreams, because if this rap shit don’t work I don’t have any illusions of what I’m going back to.”
Jewelz batted her eyes and giggled. “Shit, if this don’t work I might need to go into some of your other businesses with you. What you think?” she asked as she smirked and slowly crossed her legs again so Goody could see the curve of her thighs against the fabric of her skirt. “Is there room for a Goode Sister in the Goode Brothers organization?”
Goody was mesmerized by her entire package and he found it hard to keep the lust from showing in his eyes. Jewelz had already known he would check up on her, and she was professional enough to expect and accept it. Letting her walk up in there unverified would’ve shown his hand as a weak-ass rookie.
“I would be souped up to have a woman of your stature aligned with my team,” Handgun Goody said with a wide grin. “I can show you first-hand how I run these streets, get this paper, and how I’ve been able to take shit to the next level.”
Jewelz didn’t resist when Goody leaned over and pressed his lips to hers. She opened up to him as his tongue snaked inside her mouth and his rough hand slid up her thigh and over her curvy hip. She felt pure power in his hands and she could tell he was a rough-type lover just by the way he was gripping her. He took her hand and placed it over his bulging dick and urged her to squeeze it.
Jewelz knew his lil gunner boy was watching from the shadows of the doorway but she still went ahead and let him get his feel on. She was confident that she could get the drop and take both of them out, but that would defeat her and Slick’s purpose. With Handgun dead, one of his brothers would just slide in his seat and take over the family hustle. Nah, she had to chill so they could pick off every last one of them rats. Her and Slick were gonna wipe the whole Goode Brother bloodline clean. They were gonna hit them niggas one at a time and save Handgun for last.
While Jewelz was mentally scheming, Handgun was enjoying the physical pleasures of her scrumptious body. His hands roamed over her freely and she felt so soft and good to the touch that his dick got even harder and he got even beastlier. He grabbed her plump titty and pinched her nipple painfully. He sucked her tongue like he wanted to tear it out from the root. And when he finally broke their kiss Jewelz’s lips were bruised and swollen. She smiled and tipped back her glass of Spade and sipped from it daintily.
Goody let her get a couple of sips and then he took the glass from her and set it on the end table. He reached out and cupped her breast again and squeezed it hard as he thumbed her nipple back and forth. His hand slid up her shoulder to the back of her neck. He pulled her head forward, applying an insistent pressure.
Jewelz knew exactly what the fuck he wanted. It was a test. He wanted to see if she was running game, or if she was willing to submit to him the way the game demanded of her. He was gonna make her show and prove that her shit was legitimate, and that she knew her place.
Remember why you’re doing this, she told herself as she leaned forward obediently and lowered her head deep down into his lap. You’re doing it for you and for Slick. You’re doing it so y’all can get the revenge that you deserve.
Goody unbuckled his pants and had his dick out quicker than shit. Jewelz eyed his shit. It was long and thick. Pretty as fuck. The kind she liked. But this nigga didn’t even know who he was fucking with. Jewelz was a dick-sucking beast. Tops in the league. She was confident as hell as she prepared to lay her superior neck game down on him. She heard him moan above her and she smiled. She had this muthafucka. With her lick-a-dick skills she had him good. She was about to have him eating outta her hand, and she couldn’t wait to report back to Slick and tell him how deep this fool was sniffing up her ass.
Jewelz put her face down closer in his crotch and visually examined his dick as she stroked it up and down. She cupped his balls and turned them over and around in her hand. Satisfied with what she saw, she opened her mouth and gave Handgun Goody what he was asking for.
Jewelz put on the performance of a lifetime as she tightened her lips around the base of his dick and gently sucked. She clamped the back of her throat down on the head of his shit and vibrated her neck pussy in a low hum.
Goody sucked his breath in and groaned. He didn’t know how to act as he got his shit waxed by a pro. He didn’t even expect this shit to be all that good. He had been testing her to see if she was really about that life, and this girl was proving to be an A+ head-of-the-class student.
Even though he was trying hard not to punk out, it wasn’t long before Jewelz’s skilled lips and killer tongue caused Goody to lose his head. He tried to hide the fact that he was turnt the fuck out, but he couldn’t help shrieking like a lil bitch as she coaxed his seed up from his balls and sucked a hot walnut outta the tip of his dick.
“Damn girl…” Goody panted as he put his meat away and poured her some more champagne. “That shit was raw as fuck. I got a feeling me and you gonna be real tight, Miss Sexy.”
“I’ll drink to that,” Jewelz smiled slyly as they locked glances and she fought to keep the chill outta her eyes. This nigga was really something. He would be fun to kill.
He was handsome and determined, but with that big dick he had on him he was also very prideful. And like they said, Jewelz thought as she licked her tender lips and completely drained her glass, pride goeth before a fall.
CHAPTER 10
All Play and No Fuckin Work!
Just hold on, we’re going home…
Drake’s banga floated from the speakers as Honore and Slick sat chilling on the living room floor of Slick’s plush condo later that afternoon. His private piece of paradise was a totally tricked-out bachelor pad, nothing like his grandmother’s humble project apartment in building 430.
Slick had bought the crib and had it completely renovated, and it had all the amenities he needed in his line of work. The neighborhood was quiet and upscale, and even though people minded their business for the most part, Slick still kept shit low key when he was there.
The young couple had just finished grubbing off delicious platters of steak and potatoes that Slick had masterfully chef’d up for their late lunch. He made good use of his decked-out kitchen and always cooked when he was there instead of ordering out.
He had put his special seasonings to work and grilled the hell outta the steaks. And now that lunch was over, him and Honore were engaged in an intense game of chess and they were both relishing in the ferocious battle.
Slick took his eyes off the chessboard and gazed at his date. It was still kinda early but he was drinking Henny straight outta the bottle and he asked Honore if she would like a glass of champagne.
&nbs
p; “What?” she asked playfully. “You don’t think I can fuck with the Hen rock? I ain’t no light-weight,” she said, dropping all her college-girl talk as she got loose and comfortable with him. “Pour it up, pour it up! I ain’t drinking outta the damn bottle though, so can I have a glass please?”
Slick laughed. “Oh, you wanna play like you ain’t never sucked it straight from the bottle?” he shot back as he got up to go get her a glass. “I guess you still have to keep it somewhat lady-like for me, huh?”
Honore waved him off like, please! “Um, can you change the music while you’re up too, Mr. Slick? Are you Draking or nah? Are you having a moment? You thinking about ya lil ex or something?” she clowned him as they both burst into laughter.
Slick’s phone vibrated in a special pattern as soon as he walked into the kitchen. He took it off his waist and glanced down as a sparkling diamond, Jewelz’s avatar, flashed on his screen.
“Not right now,” he muttered under his breath then quickly pressed the call reject button. He came back to the living room holding two glasses and still smiling from Honore’s Drake joke.
“You heard what I said,” Honore repeated. She pushed the chessboard aside. “Are you thinking about one of your ex’s?”
“Naw,” Slick laughed as he sat back down and poured them both a glass of Hen Dog. “I don’t have any ex’s worth thinking about. What about you? Do you find yourself getting caught up in old memories from the past?”
“The past?” Honore blurted out. “Fuck the past! If anything, I’m trying to run as far away from the past as I can get and bury the memories as deep in the ground as they can go.”
She shook her head and smoothed back her hair then smiled a little. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to blast on you. It’s just that I’m the type who tries to only think about what’s ahead of me. If I never do shit with my life from this point on, my future would still outshine my past by far.”
