“I want to watch you while you get off.”

“Danny,” I hissed, his words like liquid fire in my veins.

“You want to get off, don’t you? You need it?”

I inhaled my breath all choppy. “Yes.”

“I want to watch you come, to watch your knees shake and your mouth part.”

  “But…we’re in public.”

“If you’re quiet no one will know.”

  Dear God.

  “But if someone passes by…”

  “No one will.”

  “You can’t know that.”

“Come on, Dearg. Be a bad girl for me. Take a risk.”

I was going to regret this.

“Okay,” I said, my voice shaking.

“Show me how you touch yourself when you think of me.”

  I gasped. “I don’t think of y—”

He chuckled. “I’m just teasing ye. Touch yourself for me. Slip your fingers inside your panties. Tell me how wet you are.”

I grabbed onto the nearest shelf to hold myself up. He couldn’t honestly be asking me to…

  I couldn’t. No.

Yes, I could, a small voice in me rebelled. I could and I would.

I slid my hand slowly down my body, my eyes darting to the end of the aisle, praying that no one walked past, a thrill snapping down my spine at the thought that someone could.

I moved my hand up my skirt and into the front of my panties, sucking in a breath when I found my sensitive slit, soaking.

  “I’m…so wet,” I whispered.

He hummed in approval. “Good girl. Rub your clit for me the way you like it. Describe what you’re doing.”

I did as he asked. “I’m…” I cleared my throat, “I’m tracing circles with the tips of my fingers.”

He let out a low moan in my ear. “Fast or slow?”

  “Slow. To start with.”

“Then what? What comes next when you’re all alone?”

“I…dip my fingers down to tease my entrance,” I said, doing it as I spoke.

His breath was getting heavier, as was mine.

“Slip a finger inside yourself for me.”

  “No,” I breathed.

  “No?”

  “I want two.”

I pushed two fingers inside me at the sound of his groan in my ear. Pleasure rolled through me.

“My dark horse,” he muttered. “Fuck yourself for me, Dearg. I want to hear your wet pussy.”

I moved my fingers in and out, slow at first. With his breathing in my ear and the knowledge that he was watching me, this was better than any fantasy I’d ever had lying in bed alone at night. I sped up as the pleasure heightened.

“Fuck, you look so damn beautiful. Eyes hooded, your skin so red…”

  There.

I spotted the twin flame-blue eyes watching me from between the space through the bookshelf.

I shuddered as I gripped the edge of the bookshelf, the intensity in his eyes pushing me over the edge. I threw back my head, my mouth opening in a silent scream as my orgasm crashed through me.

“Fuck, yes,” he growled in my ear, his voice my only tether to this earth.

I came down off my high with a snap, yanking my fingers out of my panties and fixing my skirt.

Holy shit. I just came in a library.

I thought I was quiet but…did someone hear me? Did someone see me as I had my eyes closed?

My cheeks were flaming when I stepped out of the aisle. I frowned at the empty library. There wasn’t another soul in here.

“There’s no one here,” I whispered.

“Of course not,” Danny said into my ear. “I paid the guy at the entrance to kick everyone out and to reserve the whole library for us for half an hour.”

  “You…what?”

“There was no fucking way I was going to risk anyone else hearing or seeing you come.”

My body heated. Half out of embarrassment, half from the wicked memory of what I’d just done.

“Now let’s go,” he said. “Two hours are almost up. If I don’t get you home soon, I might have to find another library to fuck you in.”

  “Hurry up, Dearg.”

Danny sounded flustered in my ear. I grinned as I deliberately took my time walking to his apartment from Marsh’s Library.

“You’re walking slow on purpose,” he huffed.

  “Maybe,” I teased.

“You’re going to pay for this.”

I was going to pay for it anyway. Might as well enjoy myself while I could.

I was distracted by the sight of an older man sitting in a sleeping bag against a building, his knees pulled up, a creased empty coffee cup resting on his knee. “Spare change for a bite to eat, miss?”

His eyes were clear despite the wrinkles and the gloss of deep sadness, his voice unmarred by too many cigarettes or wrecked by smoking chemicals. My heart tugged. Sure, there were a lot of homeless people who got there because of drug or drink problems. Unfortunately, they tarnished the ones who had fallen on hard times and just needed help.

I stopped and fumbled in my bag for my old battered wallet.

“Why did you stop?” Danny asked in my ear.

I ignored him, dropping some change into the homeless man’s cup. He nodded his thanks and gave me a toothy smile.

  I kept walking.

“That was really kind of you,” Danny said quietly in my ear.

  I said nothing.

I didn’t do it for him.

Eventually Danny told me, “Turn into this apartment to your right.”

His building was one of those beautiful Georgian buildings in a prestigious area of Dublin near Merrion Square and St Stephen’s Green.

I walked up the steps and stopped at a large door, painted as blue as his eyes, I couldn’t help noticing.

  “Type 5-9-2-1 into the keypad.”

I did and the door unlocked. The sound seemed to unlatch something in me, because my heart started to thud in my chest.

“Top floor,” Danny said though the headphone speaker in my ear before he hung up.

My heart thudded harder as I walked into the elevator and pressed the button for the top floor. I thought that he might be too far behind me to catch this elevator but his hand stuck between the doors before they shut.

He stepped in smirking at me before he stood by my side, his shoulder brushing lightly against mine, making all my awareness go to that spot where he was touching me and all the places that he wasn’t touching me. Yet.

I swallowed and shoved my headphones back into my bag. Something to do. Something to distract me from the way my insides felt like they were a tumbling, twisting mess of hot copper wires.

  The elevator dinged and opened.

“After you, Ms Kavanagh,” he said, his words that of a gentleman, the underlying promise was that of the devil who was going to ruin me.

Lord help me, I thought as I stepped off the elevator and found myself looking at a white painted door.

Danny brushed past me, deliberately tracing his fingers across my hips before unlocked the door. Then he turned and stood aside, the smile on his face promising of sin.

Welcome to my lair said the spider to the fly.

Before I could change my mind, I stepped in.

My couch, a black leather couch sitting lonely in the middle of the carpeted floor, was devoid of ageing rockers, thank God. I cocked my head, listening for signs that Rickie was still here. None. Thank God.

Ailis paused a few steps into my apartment. Her ass had been taunting me for the last two damn hours, the way it curved, the way it swayed when she walked. Now I was going to get my hands on it.

She let out a gasp. “Danny, I think you’ve been robbed!”

I locked the door behind me and left the keys hanging from the inside. “Not robbed.”

  Min
e.

  She was mine.

“What?” she exclaimed, as she spun towards me. “When did you move in?”

“A year ago.” I stalked towards her.

“But you barely have any furniture.”

  “Been busy.”

I wanted to get busy peeling off all her clothes.

“Too busy to furnish your own apartment?”

I reached her, catching her around the waist. She was not getting away.

  Nothing was stopping this.

  Nothing.

No tornado, or earthquake, or burning building was stopping this.

I smirked. “I have a bed. That’s all that matters. I want you in it. Stripped. Naked.”

She shuddered in my arms. That was the last thread snapping on my control.

I claimed her mouth, forcing my tongue past her lips. She parted and moaned, melting against me. Those noises reminded me of the erotic scene I’d just witnessed in Marsh’s Library.

It had taken all my willpower to not come in my jeans like a horny teenager.

In the back of my head, I realised that Ailis was the kind of girl that I should take my time with. But I couldn’t fucking wait anymore.

I stripped her, kissing down her neck, using my teeth and tongue, desperate to taste every inch of her skin, until she was naked.

“Dear God, Ailis…” I drank in her body, creamy skin over slender arms, a pair of pert breasts tipped with pink diamonds. Small waist and round hips that turned into shapely thighs. Thighs I wanted to wrap around me so tight I’d suffocate. And there was her pussy, bare, just as she promised it. “You have no fucking clue how sexy you are, do you?”

She stared at me, wide eyed, her breath coming out in short little bursts, betraying her nervousness. She really had no fucking clue.

“I’ve been walking around for two fucking hours staring at your sweet little ass, with this.” I grabbed her hand and placed it over my hard shaft through my jeans. She let out a small innocent gasp.

“I could see all those men who checked you out as you walked past them, oblivious as always. I could see the lust in their eyes, the dirty things they were doing to you in their minds. I wanted to beat them all down.”

Then my innocent Red did something not so innocent. She began to slide her hand up and down my shaft, occasionally trailing her nails along my length.

Where did she learn how to do that?

I wasn’t going to be able to hold off for much longer if she kept that up. I growled and pushed her hand off me, then in the same motion tugged my jumper off, undid my jeans and shoved them down my legs along with my boxers.

My erection sprang free. Her eyes drawing down to it.

“So they are true,” she whispered.

  “What’s true?”

She gave a start and flushed, as if she’d only just realised that she’d said that out loud. She shook her head.

I spun us and shoved her against the front door, the wood vibrating in its frame. I grabbed my cock in my hand and pushed it between her thighs, letting it rub back and forth against her soaking wet slit. She let out a curse word and her fingers went to my shoulders as if she needed help staying upright, her nails digging into my skin as I continued to stroke her clit with my dick. Fuck, that felt good.

“Is this what you want?” I asked.

  She nodded and moaned again.

  “Then you’ll answer the question.”

She gave me a confused look, her eyelids half closed as if in a daze.

“What rumours are true?” I repeated to remind her.

  “Ten inches,” she whispered.

  I grinned. Damn straight.

Then lunged for her, taking her mouth with mine. I pressed her against the door as I continued to move my hips back and forth, the slick sounds of my dick rubbing against her lips joining our groans.

I grabbed her hips and held them. She tilted her hips to give me better access. The head of my dick pushed just inside her wet lips. My mind shorted out and I—

She tore her mouth off me. “Danny, wait!”

“You better have a fucking good reason to stop this,” I growled, between heaving breaths, my mind on the edge of madness.

  “First, condom,” she breathed.

Ah, fuck. She was right. I never had sex without one. But here I was about to fuck her bare. Jesus Christ, she was making me lose my mind.

“Second,” she continued, “we didn’t tear ourselves off the studio door and walk around town for two damn hours just so you could fuck me against the apartment door.”

That was all that was bothering her.

  Easy fixes.

I hoisted her up, hitching her into my arms like a baby. She let out a cute little yelp that made my dick twitch. That would be the start of the noises that I would coax from her.

I strode into my bedroom and threw her onto the bed. She bounced on the mattress, her tits jiggling in that sexy natural way. She lay there on her elbows and chewed her lip as she watched me, an innocent look of what’s next in her eyes.

I kneeled on the bed at her feet. I wanted to cover her body with mine and sink deep into her as she lay just like this.

I shook myself, reminded myself sternly that this was just sex.

  No distractions.

  No relationships.

Above all, no falling in love.

I grabbed her ankles and flipped her onto all fours. Positioned that beautiful ass right up in the air.

  “Don’t. Move,” I commanded.

I leaned aside, grabbing a condom from the bedside table before sheathing myself.

I positioned myself behind her and her breath hitched.

I paused. She had two fucking seconds to interrupt again.

She said nothing, instead pushing her ass towards me and letting out a pleading moan.

  That was it.

I slid into her, her wet pussy stretching around me with ease.

  Holy fucking shit.

I held still as a wave threatened to take me under. She squirmed against me. I had to hold her hips and growl, “Hold still.”

When I’d composed myself I began to thrust. Slow at first, then faster as her body responded to me, urging me on. I reached around to press at her clit, rubbing in circles the way she told me earlier she liked it.

It was too much. For her. For me.

Too much waiting. Too much anticipation. Too much dancing around each other for the last few weeks.

  She came.

It was like a song. Her voice clear and loud, singing of her pleasure.

Her pussy walls clamping around me in waves.

That was all it took. I came. Hard. Harder than I think I’d ever come before. White spots clouding my vision. The edges of my body blurred as pleasure so intense gripped my entire being.

I gripped her hips to steady myself as the wave passed. Dear fucking God.

  What the hell was that?

I’d heard that the French called an orgasm la petite mort. The little death. Now I understood why.

Ailis was a quiet mess underneath me, slumped with her cheek against my mattress.

I blinked down at the sight of her in my bed. It was only then that I’d realised what I’d done.

I’d let her into my apartment. Into my bed.

I never fucked women here. We’d always gone to hotels.

She’s different. I shoved that voice aside, letting out a scowl.

I pulled out, careful to dispose of the condom properly. I stood at the foot of my bed, watching as Ailis shifted onto her back, looking like a fucking angel among my sheets. What the fuck should I do now?

Usually I’d dress and leave. But… I couldn’t just leave now, this was my apartment.

I rubbed my neck. What the hell did one do in situations where they didn’t know what to do?

  Tea.

  When in doubt, tea.

“You want tea?” I asked her.

She raised an eyebrow at me. Then nodded.

  That
s how I found myself minutes later in bed, sitting next to Ailis, naked, cups of Lyons tea in our hands.

I took the last sip out of my cup and placed the cup and saucer on the bedside table.

  Now what?

I glanced over to Ailis. She tilted her head as if she was trying to get a better look at something on my chest.

Out of instinct I lifted my right hand to touch the tattoo I had there.

She placed aside her own cup and turned back to me, a thoughtful look on her face. She pulled my right hand away and for some reason I let her. She traced the stars on my chest positioned right over my heart.

  “It’s a constellation,” she said.

  I stiffened. “Yeah. So?”

I wanted her to stop probing at this. I grabbed her hand and pulled it off me. Unsure what to do with it, I lowered our hands to my thigh and just kept them there.

  “Little Bear,” she said.

“I love you, my Little Bear,” my ma said, wrapping her arms around me.

The blood drained from my face. How did she…?

“Your ma used to called you her Little Bear,” she continued, seemingly oblivious to the turbulent memories she was bringing up for me. “I remember hearing her in the hospital before…”

My chest tightened as a memory crashed over me.

“My only boy. Love of my life. You have to be brave for me."

“Don’t leave me,” I begged, clinging onto my ma for dear life, as if it could keep her tethered to this earth.

Her arms around me were so frail. “I have to, Little Bear. I don’t want to. I’d give anything to stay here with you, but…sometimes we don’t get what we want.”

I shook my head, trying to keep the tears at bay and the looming fear that raised above me like a large wave, ready to crash over me and drown me in its darkest, deepest depths. “You can’t leave me. I’ll be all alone.”

“Your father will be here soon to take you.”

“I don’t want to go with him. Don’t make me.”

“I’m sorry. Where I’m going, I can’t take you with me.”

  “Where are you going?”

  “I’m going…” she choked, “…to become a star.”

“But what if I want to talk to you?”

“You can always look up and talk to me.”

“But stars are alone. You’ll be alone up there.”
