At that moment, we heard a knock on the door to Hunter’s bedroom. Hunter quickly grabbed me and positioned me behind him.

The knob turned, and then when someone tried to get in, there were crashing sounds.

  Finally, the door opened.

There stood the three guys who had knocked on Hunter’s front door.

  “Hunter!”

“Hey Terence,” Hunter greeted with a fist bump.

“Hey Man,” the red head one said, “What is with people running around?”

  “Running around?” Hunter repeated.

“Yes, outside seemed to be utter chaos.”

“People are outside on the lawn of Kingsbury, running in all directions,” the green haired one said.

“Cash,” Hunter said, fist-bumping him and handing him a bottled water. “Great to see you, Man.”

“Same,” Cash took the water and bumped fists with Hunter.

Hunter grabbed two more bottles and handed it to Terence and the last guy in the group who had streaks of teal in his hair.

“Ollie,” Hunter said. “Glad you could make it last minute.”

“Hey,” the three guys from Tenacious said in unison. Without a doubt, the way they just sounded, even in their speaking voices, they sounded like a band. A very good K-pop one.

“Get situated,” Hunter said. “I’m about to clue you into everything you need to know.”

The guys from Tenacious looked at each other and nodded. They went over to a white leather sofa in Hunter’s room and squeezed in together.

“Guys,” Hunter began, “Kingsbury Prep was attacked. You know that batcrazy Crown Princess I had to sleep with…”

The guys nodded. Their eyes darted to me briefly, with curiosity and guardedness.

“She brought her troops to the Birthday Ball.”

All three of the guys shook their heads in disbelief.

“You know Allison? She was a new student at Kingsbury. Veronica targeted her, bullied her, and made the whole school go after her, relentlessly until Allison committed suicide.”

The guys looked angry and sad. “We really liked Allison,” Ollie said shaking his head.

“She was so kind, so sweet,” Cash said almost on the verge of tears.

“Had the biggest crush on her,” Terence said shaking his head.

Hunter looked over at me. “Allison was to Tenacious as you are to K3,” he said. “But on the verge, not as we are now.”

I nodded, feeling the pain the guys from Tenacious was feeling. They were her harem.

“Veronica who sent Allison the notorious Black Envelope, has done it again. She declared open season on me, Kaz, Ori, and our girl Tempest.” Hunter nodded in my direction, which the guys acknowledged.

“She won’t stop until one of us or all of us is dead,” Hunter said.

  Cash said, “No doubt.”

“So…the whole school is in on it?” Terence asked.

“Because of Black Envelope?” Ollie asked.

“Just the students, but not all. You can’t tell who, which is why it’s dangerous. Anyone at any given time would be trying to kill you,” Hunter said.

“Bullying to the extreme!” Cash angrily said.

“They killed Allison,” Terence said. “They need to pay.”

“And you know Veronica is going to one day rule a country with mass destructive weapons,” Hunter let this sink in amongst all of us.

“If she’s like this in school, she’d be worst when she assume power as head of her country,” Hunter said.

“Negotiations between our country and hers are still unstable,” Hunter continued. He looked over at me and explained. “The guys from Tenacious…they’re not only my bandmates, but they’re my secret bodyguards…since we were kids.”

I nodded. That explained why Tenacious had access to visit Kingsbury for band practice with Hunter. “Smart,” I said. “No one would suspect that.”

“It’s the only way I could ever leave the palace on my own, travel, see the world, and even attend Kingsbury,” Hunter said.

“But Kingsbury is supposed to be a safe haven for the royals,” I said.

“Yes, so they can have a sense of normalcy and grow up with more of an open mind,” Hunter said.

“Kingsbury is the only place on Earth, where you can find warring countries’ children attending the same classes and working on the same projects for school together,” Hunter continued.

“Veronica broke that sanctuary,” I said.

“As you can gather, Tempest, outside of Kingsbury, Veronica’s country is on the brink of war with my country and Kaz’s. That’s why I had been putting up with her shit, trying to play nice to her. But she’s beyond normal reasoning. Batcrazy, as you can all see.”

“Can we go ahead and kill her?” Ollie asked. “Especially with what she did to Allison…”

“That’s the thing,” Hunter said. “Kaz’s parents basically owns Kingsbury. They had invited Veronica to attend Kingsbury years ago to hopefully broker peace between the two countries. So…on Kingsbury’s grounds, Veronica is safe. Harming her will invoke war between Kaz’s country and hers.”

I nodded. That was why Kaz was so willing to surrender to Veronica instead of fighting her. Kaz’s country was already on the brink of having civil war. As the Crown Prince, Kaz had a huge responsibility to prevent the war with Veronica’s country, and to prevent Civil War in his. Poor Kaz. My poor Kaz. What a heavy responsibility it was for anyone, let alone a young man of 18 like Kaz.

And Hunter…he was doing the same thing. He hated Veronica, but had to sleep with her to appease her. Before I came along.

“So we can’t kill her or it would start a real war,” Cash said. “What can we do?”

Hunter handed a piece of paper to each band member. “This is a list of all the kids who attend Kingsbury. While you’re staying for the Birthday Ball Celebration and playing like it’s a concert, get to meet and find out which side they’re on…Veronica, ours, or none. Win them over to ours if they are on Veronica’s side or none.”

Hunter continued. “We need to break down Veronica’s hold over the student body and reclaim them under K3,” Hunter said.

“Weed out the spies and the turncoats, too?” Terence asked.

“Yes, most definitely,” Hunter said. “The student body is only after Tempest and the K3 so it should be easier for you to get them to open up and begin talking.”

  Hunter smiled.

“Turn on your charms, guys. They already love our music. Some of them would love to be our groupies.”

“Kill them with Kindness,” I said. “Good strategy, Hunter.”

“Or just kill them,” Ollie said.

“They’ll pay for what they did to Allison,” Hunter said. “But remember, not all of them were in on it. There were some innocent ones. Just like I didn’t want to be part of K3’s decree on Tempest. So we have to watch for that.”

Hunter’s chocolate eyes were on my violent brown ones. Full of love and regret.

“I regret not standing up strong enough to stop that decree from K3, Tempest, with all my heart. I should have protested enough. Instead, you were almost killed.” He came over to me, held my hands, and kissed me as though there weren’t a trio of hot rock stars in the same room staring at us.

He broke off our kiss and turned to the Tenacious guys. “This is my girl, Tempest,” he said proudly. “If I can’t protect her, guard her with your life as you would mine.”

“No, Hunter,” I said. “They’re here to protect you, not me. You’re their Crown Prince, their future King. Their duty is to keep you safe, not me.”

“Don’t you see, Tempest,” Hunter leaned his forehead to mine. “If you’re at all hurt or harmed, it’ll kill me. You hold my heart in your hands, Tempest. I love you.”

“Oh Hunter,” I cried putting my arms around his neck. “I love you, too.”

His eyes lit up, and his entire face beamed with happiness. “You do?” He turned t
o his bandmates, his bodyguards, and friends, and shouted. “Tempest finally admitted it. She loves me! Whoo hoo!” He kissed me deeply and passionately. “I’m the happiest guy right now, Tempest. I’m on top of the world!”

  Chapter 5

Dressed in sweats and a hoodie, like the guys in Tenacious, I walked out of Hunter’s house disguised as part of the band. Hunter was also dressed as his rock star alter ego, a torn white t-shirt that was more torn than wearable displayed his beautiful flawless chest and abs; the torn black jeans fit him snugly hugging him in all the right places especially his bulging crotch. Killer combat boots amped up his alpha masculinity. And his mussed up hair made me want to run my fingers through it. A silver cross earring dangled wickedly from his left ear inspiring me to want to lick it and tongue it.

He reached out his hand to hold mine and pulled me closed to him so we were walking together. “Even dressed like the guys, I’m hard for you, Tempest. I can imagine your hot body underneath all that bagginess, and it makes me want to tear it all off.”

I looked at Hunter, and I couldn’t stop my mouth from watering. “Hunter…” I said huskily. “I’m so turned on right now…”

He placed my hand on his jeans-clad bulge. “That’s how hard I am for you, Tempest.”

He leaned in to kiss my cheeks.

“I’m always hard for you now, ever since I first saw you on the beach about to be meat grounded by Veronica.”

I shuddered. “Yeah, that was one horrific day.”

“But you survived it, Tempest. You survived all the shit Veronica and the kids at Kingsbury did. Just like you’ll survive anything and everything anyone tries to pull on you,” Hunter said. “Like I said, your fierceness is fucking hot.”

We were already at the stage area, which Hunter had called in the school’s crew to set up on the lawn near the cafeteria. The band quickly set up the rest of the stage and began tuning their instruments, checking out the sound, and microphone.

I walked over to a keyboard, which Tenacious had brought and sat down at the keyboard bench. Hunter had asked that I played in the band so that I would be safe amongst them instead of being by myself. So, he suggested I play the keyboard for the band. Dressed as I did, no one would know Tempest Ryan was hidden safely right in front of them.

Within a few minutes, we were playing the band’s most popular songs, and drawing a crowd.

Soon, almost everyone had left the cafeteria and ballroom and had headed over to our concert stage.

The energy and pulsing of our music drew more of the crowd until we were at full capacity. As the lead singer, Hunter’s raw sexual magnetism made everyone hot for him as he took full control of the stage, his music, and the crowd.

He was so damn sexy with me whenever we were together, but on the stage, he was irresistible. His voice was raw, deep, and drenched with promises of wild nights together. His body moved enough to show what he could do with you in bed.

Filled with raw energy, he pumped each song out like he was making love to each and every person in the crowd.

The female students were so excited to see Tenacious, they had tears streaming down their cheeks.

The male students were swaying to the songs and singing along with the popular songs.

Even soldiers stationed outside the ballroom from Veronica’s troop were singing to the lyrics.

When Hunter ripped his t-shirt off, during the song, The Chase, which I had wrote for him; his chocolate eyes, filled with lust and heated passion, met mine. I knew he was thinking of me as he wiped his shiny sweaty broad chest with his ripped t-shirt. The crowd of women went wild, screaming and crying.

I was so hot for him, I wanted to run up to him and ride him. My body was wound tight with desire, as it remembered every kiss, every lick, and every thrust Hunter had bestowed upon it.

This was the finale, the final song of the evening.

Even Kaz was standing off to the side from the crowd. He was looking intensely at me, his face dark and brooding. His arms were crossed, his stance…legs wide apart and firm, confident. This was Kaz, the King of K3 and of Kingsbury Prep. Cool, confident, and deadly.

To his left, Ori had joined him and was watching me with a smile on his face. He was beautiful and ferocious at the same time, his white spike hair glistening in the night. His stance, like Kaz’s was bold, confident, and unyielding. He was the White Night, his character from the Underground Fight Tournament whom I fought and won.

Ori’s smile was wicked but his eyes on mine were filled with passion and pride. He was proud of me being up here on stage with Hunter. He was proud of his fellow K3 brother Hunter for an amazing performance.

  Veronica was nowhere in sight.

And our last song had just ended.

The crowd went wild, cheering and clapping. Hunter bowed and then extended his arm towards the rest of the band. We all stood up and bowed, waving our arms in thanks and byes as we wrapped up the concert.

  Chapter 6

Hunter and I stood next to each other as the guys from Tenacious went to get some food with a large new group of Kingsbury Prep groupies.

“You were so sexy singing and strutting your stuff up there,” I kissed Hunter.

“I was thinking of all the things I wanted to do to you, Tempest,” Hunter said. “If I looked sexy, it was because I was thinking of having sex with you while singing.”

He gave me a hot kiss that had me panting for breath when we broke off.

“Tell me next time you have a concert,” Ori said walking up with Kaz to Hunter and me, “and I’ll make plans to go.”

“All these years, bro, and you never been to one of mine; I finally had to bring my concert to you,” Hunter said.

“Your plan with the band winning over the student body, worked brilliantly,” Kaz said with a smug smile. “From the back of the crowds, I heard several students criticize Veronica for invoking the Black Envelope on us. Many said they didn’t even like Veronica.”

  “No surprise there,” I said.

“And Tempest,” Ori said, “I didn’t know you played the keyboards like a pro.”

“I’m full of surprises,” I said, looking up at him and putting a finger to my lips. His eyes went from looking deep into my eyes to looking hungrily at my finger on my lips.

  “Yes, you are,” he swallowed.

Hunter was instantly by my side, putting his arm around my shoulders. “Tempest not only played in the band like a trooper, but that last song of the night, The Chase….she wrote and composed that song for me.” He beamed down at me.

“You inspired the song, Hunter,” I said. “But boy, being part of your band is exhilarating! I’d love to do it again.”

Hunter hugged me to him and kissed me. “I’d love for you to be a permanent part of my band, Tempest. The guys thought you were a natural fit, too.”

I looked over to Kaz and Ori. “What do you think?”

Kaz looked at me with his beautiful azure blue eyes. “I think you can do anything, Tempest.” I smiled back at him, taking his beauty all in.

“I know what I’d like to do next,” I said, looking mischievously at Kaz and Ori.

“Hmm,” Hunter leaned in to bite my ear. “What about me? Am I invited?”

  “Of course,” I said. “Why wouldn’t I?”

A lustful tension filled the air between all four of us as my boys moved in close to surround me. “My place is free for now,” Kaz said.

“What about Veronica and the deal you made with her?” I asked, clearly not happy with it.

Kaz’s face filled with anger. “I couldn’t do it.”

Hunter, Ori, and I all said, “What?”

“She kept pestering me about wanting to have sex with me and that she expected it tonight. She came over to my place but before she could even knock on the door, she was pulled away with a sudden emergency.”

  “Oh? What emergency?” I asked.

“Her parents called and told her they received a call from Ms. Turlin
gton about missing an entire month of school.”

“And a whole lot of other bad things, I hope,” I said.

“Just the skipping school part was enough to get them to call. They’re notorious for keeping up appearances too. But having your child skip school for a month without your knowledge is pretty shaming.”

“Smart move, Kaz,” Everyone congratulated him, knowing that Kaz was behind getting Veronica pulled out for an emergency.

“Thanks, but it also bought us time to think about the what to do until the Black Envelope decree is revoked.”

Kaz looked around and said, “Let’s get back to my place. We’ll be safe there especially since the school allowed me to have added security features installed to accommodate for my parents’ visit.”

“Alright,” I said. “Let’s talk more when we get to Kaz’s.”

Ori said, “I’ll meet you there. I just need to update Ricky and the local security.

As soon as we started towards Kaz’s place, Kaz reached down to entwine his fingers into mine. I looked over and saw the familiar glint of happiness in Kaz’s eyes when we were together.

He bent his head to whisper in my ear, “I missed you so much, Tempest. I don’t ever want to be without you.”

“Kaz, I’m angry at you,” I said.

Kaz looked down. “I’m sorry I didn’t tell you about my deal with Veronica. If I did, you’d never allow me to do it.”

  “You bet I wouldn’t,” I said.

“I did it because I knew about a plan Veronica had for you. Horrible. I couldn’t even stand thinking about it without wanting to kill her. She was going to do it in front of everyone tonight, but…”

“You stopped her, Kaz,” I said. “You stopped her before she could do it. I know.”

“We didn’t have time to plan for any other way to stop her. I just knew that it meant nothing for me to be with her. You have my heart, Tempest. No one can take that away from you. She could only play with my body, but she’ll never have me the way you own me, Tempest.”
