Hard Lawyer

by Liam Foster

“Of course not. You are a slut, but you’ll never make it to the top without a law degree.”

“I do love these sisterly conversations.”

“You worry too much. Look, you’re having fun. What’s the worst that could happen?”

“I could lose my job,” I reply. And get my heart broken. That’s becoming a real concern, but there’s no way I’m voicing it out loud.

  “You’ll get another job.”

“Not one that pays this well. You know we need the money.”

“If Mom knew you were living your life just trying to earn enough to support her, she’d give up and die out of spite.”

  “Don’t say things like that.”

“Okay, okay. Just don’t mess this up. You have a good thing going and occasionally you look happy. Mom noticed that herself.”

I am happy. Well, happier anyway. I’ll never be truly happy while Mom’s still sick, but this is the closest I’ve been in a long time.

I don’t want what Damon and I have to end, but I can’t lose this job. Something has to give, and Mom is more important than my sex life.

If there were any doubt in my mind that people in the office knew what Damon and I were getting up to after hours, it disappeared the minute I bumped into Cheryl, one the junior attorneys, in the kitchen.

Cheryl always struck me as a bit of a bitch, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt. She’s only been a lawyer for a couple of years and the partners keep her busy. She isn’t the first attorney to snap orders at me. She is the first to call me a whore though.

“I’ll probably be making drinks for you soon,” Cheryl says, as I pour Damon a cup of coffee.

  “Excuse me?”

“You heard. Good luck on the promotion.”

  “I haven’t been promoted.”

“I’m sure you will soon.” She heads towards the door and the word escapes her lips. “Whore.” It’s not loud or angry, but it’s unmistakable. She thinks I’m a whore and so does everyone else in the office I expect.

This can’t go on. If I lose this job… I don’t even want to think about what might happen to Mom.

I take Damon’s drink to his office and place it down on the desk. He’s wrapped up in yet another memo. He works too hard. Even with all the breaks he takes to spank me on his desk, he still puts in fourteen hour days judging by the timecards he has me fill out each week. There’s a big deal going down, but there’s always a big deal going down. It’s part of the job. This isn’t a good time to deliver bad news, but there’ll never be a good time.

  “Damon?”

He looks up from his memo. I don’t usually talk to him unless summoned, so there’s a confused look on his face.

  “What is it?”

Am I really going to say this? Am I really going to mess up the best thing that’s happened to me in years?

I clear my throat. “We need to be more professional in the office.”

Damon frowns and keeps staring at me. “You want to stop having sex?”

“Only in the office. And not just the sex. We shouldn’t do anything that a normal boss and employee wouldn’t do.”

  “What’s brought this on?”

“I don’t know, I just… we should never have started in the first place. It’s inappropriate behavior in a workplace.”

“You sound like an HR manager. Anyway, I’m the boss, I decide what’s inappropriate. In your case, you keep misbehaving and therefore a spanking is the appropriate punishment.”

  “Damon, I’m being serious.”

“So am I. We’re not stopping.”

“You don’t get to make that decision.”

I’ve never once used the safe word. Bluebook. I hope I never have to.

Damon sighs and rubs the bridge of his nose. “Sit down, Kara.”

I take a seat opposite his desk and try to look professional like I did when he called me in here to give me the job.

“You don’t need to worry about losing your job. That’s not going to happen.”

“I can’t risk it,” I reply. I want to tell him. He deserves to know the truth. Hell, he’s even met Mom so it’s not going to come as a huge surprise. Screw it, I’m telling him. “I need the money. For Mom. She’s—”

“Your mom’s ill so you dropped out of law school to get a job and pay her medical bills. Yeah, I know.”

I let out a sigh of relief. I don’t care how he knows, but I ask anyway.

“You’re far too clever to have dropped out of law school,” Damon says. “That much is obvious. I noticed that your mom has been in hospital lately, so I put two and two together. I’m not great at math, but I managed to arrive at four.”

“I didn’t want to lie to you.”

Damon raises his hand. “It’s fine, honestly. You don’t have to explain yourself. But you need to know that your job here is safe. You’re not going anywhere. I would quit myself before firing you.”

He means it. That look is his eyes—he’s deadly serious.

“Why?” I ask. “Why would you do that for me?”

He stares back at me and I immediately regret asking the question. Eventually he gives me a smile that warms my core.

“You’d be difficult to replace. In more ways than one.”

  “Thanks.”

I don’t care what anyone else thinks or says about us. What we have might be a bit unusual, but it’s real and I’d have to be crazy to end it. I’m a little weird sometimes, but I’m not crazy.

  Chapter Fourteen

  Damon

Not long to go now. Just a few more weeks and this deal will be over.

I’ve already started planning the vacation Kara and I are going to take afterwards. In some ways I know Kara intimately and yet in others I barely know her at all. Does she prefer city breaks or lying on the beach? I asked Samantha, but she wasn’t much help. It doesn’t sound like Kara has even been abroad except for a school trip to Mexico. I’m going to split the difference—a week in Europe and then a week on a beach somewhere in the Caribbean.

I can’t go anywhere until this damn deal is over, so I get back to work and send the opposing attorneys my latest set of edits to the Sale Purchase Agreement. There’s not much else to do for the time being other than sit back and wait for a response. I’ve never been one for sitting around doing nothing.

  “Kara,” I call out.

She bounces into the office with a smile on her face. I still boss her around, but it’s impossible to pretend we don’t both enjoy it now. It’s a hot summer’s day and she’s wearing a thin floaty dress, with a large belt around the waist. Her breasts are exposed as much as they can be in a law firm, and the dress could be lifted up by a light breeze. It’s perfect.

  She’s perfect.

“What can I do for you, Sir?” she asks sweetly.

I can’t even remember what I called her in here for. “I… uh… close the door.”

Kara smiles mischievously and closes the door. “Am I being punished?”

I smile back and motion for her to come over. She walks over, biting her lip and looking the picture of innocence right up until the moment she bends over the desk and lifts her skirt, revealing her perfect ass cheeks and the tiniest hint of her sweet pussy.

“No,” I say, grabbing her arm and pulling her back up. “That’s not why I asked you in here.” I think it was, but I’ve changed my mind.

“Oh,” she says, disappointed. “Is something wrong?”

“No.” I pat my thighs and she quickly straddles me, rubbing her hot slit against my crotch. Kara reaches down and strokes my cock through my pants. I quickly harden and need to open my fly to give my cock room to move. Kara slides her fingers into the gap and pulls out my cock. I can’t imagine ever getting bored of this.

I grab the back of Kara’s neck and pull her in tightly for a kiss. She never lets go of my cock as I slide my tongue into her mouth and pull down her dress to expose her breasts. Our lips don’t part until we’re both short of b
reath.

“Top drawer?” Kara asks, referring to the stash of condoms I now keep in the office.

  “Yeah,” I reply, “but wait.”

“You want to do something else first?” she asks, licking her lips.

Fuck. Choosing between her mouth and her pussy is an impossible choice. Fortunately, some decisions are much easier. Like the decision to finally tell her how I feel.

“I love you,” I blurt out. A huge weight is lifted from my shoulders the second the words leave my mouth. Regardless of how Kara responds, I won’t have any regrets.

Her hand stops stroking my cock, but it continues to pulse in her hand. This might be a romantic moment, but I still need to fuck that tight wet pussy of hers in the next few minutes or I’m going to explode.

  “You love me?”

  I nod. “Yeah.”

  “We’ve not been together long.”

“I know. And you don’t have to say it back. Take as long as you—”

  “I love you too.”

  “Are you sure?”

  Kara nods.

“You’re not just saying it?” I ask.

“No. Well… part of me is just saying it so that you’ll fuck my brains out. Is that a problem?”

I shrug. “I’ll get over it.”

We kiss again and for one beautiful moment I imagine us relaxing on that beach in the Caribbean without a care in the world.

“You’re out of condoms,” Kara says, snapping me out of my trance.

I look at the drawer and sure enough, it’s empty.

“We could go without?” Kara suggests. “I trust you.”

I’ve wanted to come in her pussy from the moment I first laid eyes on her. “We don’t have to.”

“We do, because there’s no way I’m leaving this office unfucked.” She leans over and whispers in my ear. “I want you to slide that thick cock inside my tight hole and fill me up with your cum.”

“Have you always been this dirty?”

“I’ve kept it buried deep inside.”

We share another smile and then both remember what we’re here for. I pull the straps on Kara’s dress down her arms until her nipples poke out of the top. I lean over to suck one nipple while I play with the other in my hand. I treat the nipple like her clit, flicking my tongue against it and sucking as it hardens in my mouth.

I’m consumed with her breasts until Kara slides the tip of my cock against her wet slit. I almost come there and then.

I reluctantly let go of her tits and grab her ass cheeks, lifting her up into the air and lowering her down onto my desk. I drop my pants to the floor and stare at her pussy, glistening with drops of excitement already. It’s hard to believe I’m about to enter her raw.

“Don’t keep me waiting,” Kara purrs from the desk.

I laugh. I’ll punish her for that later.

I line my cock up against her opening and push forward. We both sigh as I slide deep inside. I still have to take it slow at first as her body adapts to my cock, but seconds later she’s already urging me to fuck her harder.

I slide in until my balls rub against her ass and then lean down and whisper in her ear. “What do you want me to do?”

  “Fuck me,” she replies immediately.

  “I need more than that.”

She groans deeply as I push against her clit. “I want you to pound my tight pussy with your thick cock until I scream so loud everyone in the office hears it. I want you treat me like a worthless whore. Fuck me like you don’t care about me and then empty your seed inside my soaking wet pussy.”

  Yep, that’ll do.

I grab her thighs and lift them up to her chest. Somehow I manage to push my cock in another half an inch and then I fuck her. Hard. Her breasts swing all over the place and my balls slap against her ass with every pounding.

I lose count of her orgasms. Her screams all merge into one long wail as her body is racked with pleasure. Her pussy pulses around my cock with increasing intensity as her own excitement pools on the desk underneath her.

“Come,” Kara whimpers. “Come inside me.” She looks exhausted from minutes of non-stop coming and screaming.

“Beg,” I reply. “Beg for my come.”

“Please, Sir. Fill me up. I want to feel your seed shoot out inside me. I want you to claim me. Please Sir. Fill my tight little cunt with your cum.”

I bury my cock deep and lean down, kissing her on her sweat-covered lips as I ejaculate inside her. As I soften, I realize that I don’t want be with another woman again for the rest of my life.

I’m staring out the window in a trance when Kara knocks timidly on the door.

“Mitchell is here and wants to speak to you.”

“He’s in the office?” I ask. I’ve dealt with Mitchell for years; he’s only come into the office once and that was for the introductory meeting.

  Kara nods. “He looks angry.”

“Huh. I guess I’d better go see him then.”

Kara wasn’t wrong. Mitchell is all kinds of pissed. He shakes my hand grudgingly and then slams a few pieces of paper on the table in front of me.

“These are your invoices for the past three weeks.”

I look at them quickly. Mitchell is a major client and as such he has major bills. He’s never complained about them before. We do good work for him and he pays. That’s how this works.

“I don’t follow,” I admit. “We haven’t changed our rates in over a year and our payment terms are the same as they’ve always been. What’s the problem?”

“It’s not your rates I have a problem with,” Mitchell replies. “It’s the disbursements.” He grabs the top invoice and reads out various innocuous expenses. “Then we get to travel. You’ve billed us for a return plane ticket to LA—first class judging by the amount—and a fortune in taxi rides.”

  “That’s not right.”

“Damn right it’s not. We closed that LA office a year ago. You’ve also charged us a small fortune for hotels in San Francisco. What the hell would you even need a hotel in San Francisco for? You live here.”

Mitchell’s right. All the invoices have ridiculous disbursements at the bottom. Even the amount for printing and court filings looks far too high.

I use the phone to call John and ask him to come join us.

He brings his laptop and opens the software we use to log our time. He pulls up the appropriate entries and points to the User ID of the person who entered the fake expenses.

“It’s mine,” I say aloud, before my brain can kick into gear.

  “You did this?” Mitchell asks.

The User ID belongs to me, but I don’t enter my own time. That’s what my secretary is for. Kara.

“Yes,” I say. “I guess I did. I mean, it must be some mistake. Perhaps I entered the flights on the wrong client ID.”

“But there haven’t been any trips to LA,” John says. He looks confused.

“This is incredibly disturbing,” Mitchell says. “Clearly I’m going to have to take my business elsewhere. I’m also considering reporting this to the California Bar Association.”

“That won’t be necessary,” John says, to fill the silence. “Damon, this is ridiculous. You don’t enter your own time. You never have; you’re far too lazy.” I glare at John to convey that he should stop talking, but he doesn’t take the hint. “Your secretary does all this. I’ll go get Kara.”

I’m still in shock. John’s words take a couple of seconds to hit home and by the time they do, he’s already left the room.

“This is good news,” Mitchell says. “I didn’t want to have to stop working with you guys. We all make hiring mistakes occasionally. It’s easily fixed.”

I shake my head, but I don’t know what to say. It couldn’t have been Kara, but she’s the only one with access to my User ID in the system.

“Is there a problem?” Kara says, walking into the room with John close behind her.

“Do you enter Damon’s expenses on the system?” Mit
chell asks.

Kara nods. “Yes, I record all his time and expenses.”

“Brilliant. Problem solved. Damon, give the skirt the boot and we can pretend this never happened.”

  “Damon?” Kara sounds worried.

She needs this job, but Mitchell is our biggest client. Without the regular work we get from him, the firm would be in big trouble. I need to keep this client or half the attorneys here will lose their jobs.

“I’m sorry, Kara,” I say softly. “Please clear your desk and leave.”

She stares at me, tears welling up in her eyes. I want her to yell at me. Scream. Get angry. Instead she pleads with me and my heart breaks.

  “But you said… you said you’d never…”

“Please do as I say and don’t make a scene.” Her lip quivers, but eventually she does turn and head for the door. “Oh, and Kara? Remember to take your Bluebook from my office.”

John frowns at my mention of the Bluebook. I hope that’s enough of a clue to stop Kara hating me. Otherwise I’ve just fucked up the best relationship I’ve ever had and ever will have.

  Chapter Fifteen

  Kara

I didn’t tell Samantha for an entire week. I pretended to take a week off work sick until she finally realized something was wrong. Mom still doesn’t know. I can’t tell her I’ve lost my job. She’ll stress about money again, and when she gets stressed, her health gets worse.

Damon used to call every thirty minutes, then every hour, then a couple of times a day. He’s given up now. I ignored every call, but it’s still heartbreaking to know that he’s stopped trying. Give it another week and he’ll have a new woman on the go.

How could he do that to me? He promised me he would never fire me. He told me he… he told me he cared for me. Then he ruined my life for something I didn’t even do. I have no idea how those expenses got on a client’s invoice, but it sure as hell had nothing to do with me.

I still can’t think about him without crying. It’s either that or anger, but I don’t have anyone to take my anger out on.

I’ve applied for a couple of jobs and have an interview lined up next week. It won’t replace the money I earned working for Damon and there’s no guarantee I’ll get the job. I can’t hold myself together for longer than five minutes at a time, so unless the interview is really short, I’m in trouble.
