Gregor's Reason: The Night Movers Vampire Series Book 3
Page 19
Just after we had finished our breakfast, Gregor received a call from Sergei.
“Sergei, you have a lot to answer for and I haven’t decided how I will deal with you yet,” Gregor grumbled into the phone. I heard him say why do you want to speak with her? He then put the phone on hands-free and placed it on the table in front of me.
“What can I do for you, Sergei?” I asked, still a little annoyed with him.
“Hello beautiful Chloe, how are you enjoying Moscow?”
“It’s a beautiful city Sergei, although the ballet wasn’t for me, I’m afraid.”
“I do not blame you. It is not becoming of a man to wear tight clothing such as they do. It is often obscene depending on their level of endowment. I often worry why Gregor likes it so much…”
I laughed out loud, even as Gregor glared at me.
“Fuck off Sergei,” snapped Gregor. “Now what did you want? We have a very busy day ahead of us.”
“Well, the reason I called was because I wanted to ask who had a key for Chloe’s flat, other than Pamela, and now me? Pamela does not know of anyone else who has access, yet on my return after my half shift at Night Movers, I picked up the scent of a male that had not been present before I left.”
“There are no other key holders, Sergei, only me and Pam. Have I been burgled?” I felt sick to my stomach at the thought. Gregor took my hand, a concerned look on his face.
“I do not think that there was anything missing, and nothing was out of place from before, as far as I could tell. Your cat was unhappy about it, too. He was pacing around where I could scent the intruder the most, which was upstairs. He is missing you. I’ve had to let him sleep in your bed with me or he won’t leave me alone. I could not find any food for him in your flat, so I bought some cat food from Mr. Singh’s shop. I may buy him some chicken and fish tomorrow as a treat.”
“Sergei, I don’t have a cat, so I’m not sure who’s cat you have there, but he’s definitely not mine.”
“Oh,” said Sergei, sounding a little confused. “Well, I will ask around tomorrow to see if anyone knows who his owners are. He can stay with me until I find them. In the meantime, I am going to set up a camera in the upstairs of your home. Whoever had been in here only ventured through the upper and middle floors. He did not go to your shop on street level, and as it had rained, I did not pick up any scent on the metal steps entrance to your flat. It is all very strange indeed.”
“Keep us informed of your progress, Sergei. Are you going to have the locks changed?” Gregor asked.
“Viktor and Josh suggested the cameras. They said that the man would know I was on to him if I changed the locks, and he could try something else.”
“Yes, I see what they mean. But I also have an unwelcome thought about this Sergei. Chloe has suffered regular household emergencies, including a small kitchen fire. It could be that this intruder had something to do with that,” Gregor said as he looked at me.
For a moment, I thought my breakfast would make a sudden re -appearance on the table, but before I knew what was happening Gregor had picked me up and carried me to the door. After a half dozen gulps of fresh air, my stomach began to settle, and my nausea passed.
“Gregor, I think we need to get back to Barrowfield. I need to speak to the police and…”
“Do not worry about this Chloe; Sergei will handle it. Besides, how would you tell the police that you’d had an intruder? They would not accept that Sergei had scented him.”
“I know, I just.... It’s not safe for Pam or the others to be there, either.”
“Do not worry about that, my love. Sergei would not let anything happen to those women. On that, you can count.”
“Gregor, have you forgotten how we ended up here? That was all Sergei’s doing. He used mind control on me for God’s sake. He could be making the whole thing up.”
“No. That is not something he would do. Sergei is a joker and sometimes his way of doing things is a little out of the ordinary. But he is a loyal friend and someone you can always rely on to do the right thing. I admit what he did the night we ended up here was wrong. But he wanted to give us a chance to be together, and as it stands just now, although I hate to admit it, we are together at this moment in time because of him. Yuri and Viktor, also.
“I would have given you time back in England before I pursued you again. But I would have pursued you, make no mistake about that. And because you were here, you were not alone in your flat when this mystery man gained entry. Another reason to be glad you are here.”
“I can’t understand anyone's motive though, Gregor. I mean, why get into someone's home and do nothing? It doesn’t make sense. I’m dreading going back there now. I don’t think I will get a good night’s sleep in that place again.”
“Of course, you won’t. You will be living at Rothley Manor with me, and after I have finished with you every night, you won't be able to do anything else but sleep,” he smirked.
“What are we going to do today?” I closed the front door and leaned back against it, not feeling up to visiting anything just then.
“What would you like to do, my love?” Gregor questioned, holding me in his arms and swaying gently.
“I just want you to make me forget my troubles, and make me feel better,” I sighed.
“I had better take you back to bed then, or maybe the pool,” he said raising his eyebrows suggestively.
Trust him to think of sex as the answer.
But maybe it was. Maybe a certain place in Moscow that Gregor owned would be enough to take my mind off anything else but sex. I looked into his piercing blue eyes and tried to find the courage to ask him.
“Gregor, I want you to take me to your club.”
I watched many expressions travel across his face, disbelief, anger, confusion. He stepped away from me for a moment, then turned to look at the fireplace before asking, “Why?”
“I want to see what it’s like. I’m curious, and I want to experience something that you have enjoyed for centuries,” I told him firmly.
“BDSM is not a place; it’s a way of doing things. An action, a state of mind, a way of life. I tied you up and fucked you this morning Chloe; that was something I will enjoy doing for centuries to come. You don’t have to go there to experience that with me.”
“But I want to go there, Gregor. I want to know what you are going to need from me in the future. I want to be mentally prepared. Please, I won’t ever ask you again. We don’t have to have sex there if you don’t want to. I just need to see it.”
“Okay, Chloe. But we go this afternoon. I want as few people to see me there with you as possible,” Gregor said harshly.
“Because I’m not sexy enough, is that what you mean,” I yelled, both hurt and thoroughly pissed off with his attitude.
“Don’t fucking yell at me Chloe, and do not make any assumptions as to why I wouldn’t want you there, either. Do you know how many women I’ve fucked in that place, Chloe? Do you know how many subs I’ve had kneeling on the floor with my cock in their mouths? Or how about how many women have begged me to wield the tail of a whip against their soft flesh, so that they can say their marks came from Master Gregor? I did not want to taint you with any of that.”
“But I’m already tainted by it, Gregor. I am imagining in my head all these women, and how beautiful, obedient and willing they were for you. You have all those memories stored away of your time there. I want to give you a memory. One I hope can replace all the others, or at least feature on your list of good times.”
Gregor walked towards me quickly and grabbed my shoulders. He looked like he was going to say something, but instead he just stared at my lips and said, “Go and get yourself ready, Chloe. We will leave in an hour.” He turned on his heel and walked towards the pool area, his head down, and shoulders slumped.
What had I done? Should I go to him and tell him we didn’t have to go?
I debated what the best thing was to do, but I had made my choice, and
although Gregor wasn’t on board with it, I needed to put this to rest so I could move forward fully with our relationship.
I wanted to know how I would feel if he kept the club. When Semyon had asked him what his plans were, he never said anything. What if it was something he couldn’t give up? I would never accept infidelity, that I knew for certain. But keeping the club would always be a temptation for him. It would be like a recovering alcoholic owning a pub.
Up in my room, I went through the underwear that Anna had purchased. I chose the sexiest underwear set I could find, which was a dark navy lace bra and panty set with a red bow in the centre of each.
I thought about the normal underwear I would have packed if we had come here on holiday and at that moment I couldn’t have been more grateful for Anna’s shopping spree. I had the odd nice underwear set at home, but when it came to big knickers, my underwear drawer could rival that of Bridget Jones.
I had only gotten a shower an hour ago with Gregor, but I ran the bath and filled it with some of the scented bath oil, which was also one of Anna’s purchases, along with a set of three ladies’ razors. After I had shaved my legs and underarms, I started to make my lady garden a bit neater.
But, unless I was working with real flowers, my work could be a bit hit and miss. Unfortunately for me, the attempt of creating a narrow landing strip with my bush was definitely a miss. I ended up shaving the whole thing off, and I prayed the shaving rash wouldn’t appear until we left his club.
By the time, I was finished getting ready an hour and ten minutes had passed, but Gregor hadn’t come looking for me. I walked down the stairs with my blue Dior high heels in hand, dressed in a pretty blue daisy patterned shift dress, and looked around the great room.
Gregor was sitting staring at the fire with a glass of what looked like whisky in his hand. Yuri was glaring at me for some reason, and I shrugged my shoulders and mouthed the word ‘what’ at him.
Gregor stood and placed his drink on a side table before turning around slowly and looking at me. I smiled at him tentatively, but he didn’t smile back.
He came to stand in front of me and hesitated before saying, “Chloe, I must apologise for swearing at you. I can promise you it won't happen again, and I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me.”
He looked so despondent, and I felt so awful for the giggle that slipped from me.
“Gregor,” I laughed as I hugged him tightly. “If we are going to be together for eternity, then rest assured, that won't be the last time we shout and swear at each other, I’m sure. We are allowed to get angry, and shout, it's natural in an equal partnership of two people who are used to being in charge. As long as the words aren’t too hurtful, and there is nothing physical involved in that anger, then it’s a normal and healthy part of a relationship. Besides, you have said that word to me more than once Gregor; I’m used to it by now.”
“It's different when its used for those purposes my love, it doesn’t carry any offence that way.” He bent slightly and kissed me on my cheek before whispering, “I will be saying it many times this afternoon, Chloe, and each time it will have the same meaning, so I hope you are prepared.”
Gregor called Yuri and Dmitry to the door to ready the car for us. I was nervous, but also excited to see this place. It was somewhere I would have never even had considered visiting in England, in my normal life. How many ordinary people would? I was also happy that no one knew me here, so I wasn’t concerned that anyone would be whispering about my secret world of kink as I sat in the hairdressers in Rothley.
Chapter Twenty-Nine
Chloe
Gregor’s club was just a row of normal looking townhouses, from the outside anyway. Inside the front door of the second house is where everything changed.
The houses had been knocked together at one point with very few walls and columns separating them where each entrance hall would have been. When we entered, a tall, sombre looking man, wearing a black suit greeted Gregor. He spoke to him warmly in Russian then took our coats.
Gregor asked me if I wanted a drink and we walked to a bar area in a large room to the left of the property. The man behind the bar was dressed in black trousers and waistcoat with a white shirt. Despite my dress and shoes probably costing more that I earned in a month, I still felt underdressed.
Gregor had a short conversation with the bartender, and the man smiled at me. I smiled back and decided to ask Gregor to teach me a little Russian, so I didn’t feel as ignorant as I did right now.
The club looked classy, maybe more so than any normal club would. We were the only ones in the bar for a few minutes, but as the bartender handed me my glass of wine, I saw a man approach Gregor.
The man had a loud voice and spoke to Gregor like he would a long lost friend. In between all the Russian, I heard Gregor say my name, and I automatically turned to the man and smiled. He smiled back at me and Gregor said, “Chloe, this man is called Fedor Kuzmich. He is interested in buying my club, and I have made the decision to sell it to him. He owns similar clubs in St Petersburg and Leningrad, so I know this place will be in good hands.”
I told him I was pleased to meet him and held out my hand for him to shake, but instead, he kissed the back of it and then bowed in front of me. What do I do now, I thought, as I looked to Gregor for guidance? But he just smiled and carried on talking to Mr. Kuzmich.
Two more men walked into the bar, followed by a woman dressed in a short black sleeveless cocktail dress. She wore high heels like me, but she towered above my height. She wasn’t super slim as I had pictured all the women who came here to be. Her arms were quite muscular, although not enough to lose her femininity.
I watched her as she approached the bar and saw how she lowered her gaze as she neared Gregor. She ordered a drink and caught me looking at her through a mirrored wall at the back of where the bartender now stood. She flicked her shoulder length white blond hair away from her face which I noted was quite ordinary in appearance.
I had pictured all the women who came here to be model beautiful with slender yet curvy figures, but this woman was a revelation to me, and I instantly felt a little more confident.
When Gregor’s conversation with Mr. Kuzmich was finished, he suggested we take a short tour. He took hold of my hand, and I placed my now empty wine glass on the bar, before casting one last glance at the woman who was speaking to the bartender. He nodded towards Gregor and I, and the woman stared at me wide eyed. I smiled at her and let Gregor lead me out of the bar.
“Did you know the woman in the bar?” I asked.
“Maybe,” said Gregor on a sigh.
“That’s not an answer Gregor,” I muttered as we walked along a low-lit hallway.
“What do you want me to say, Chloe? If I tell you I fucked her, you may get upset. If I tell you, I’ve never even spoken to the woman you probably wouldn’t believe me.” He let go of my hand and ran it through his hair.
“How about telling me the truth then,” I offered with a shrug.
“Okay, here’s the truth. I can’t recall if I did a scene with her or not. If that makes me sound bad, then so be it. I make no apologies for who I am and what I did before I met you.” He shook his head and said, “Fuck the tour.” Before taking back my hand and pulling me along the hallway quickly.
He opened a door and revealed a kind of shop of sorts, although there was no staff to serve you.
Gregor opened cupboards and drawers, selecting a few things from each, but when I asked what they were, he grunted something in Russian, ignoring me completely. I stood there waiting as I watched him cast aside different sex toys before selecting… oh shit.
“Gregor, that’s a fucking horse whip. You can put that back. I didn’t ask for that.”
“No my love, you wanted to be here, now you have to play by my rules. In this club, I am the Master. Whatever I say goes, and I say we use the riding crop or ‘fucking horse whip’ as you so delicately put it.”
I looked toward the
door, wondering if I should make a run for it. Of course, the shoes would have to come off so I could run faster, but…
“Don’t even think about it, Chloe. As a vampire, I can run faster and over a much further distance than a human.”
He stalked towards me and only stopped when were chest to chest. He took a deep inhale then stared down at me angrily.
“You fear me, Chloe. Even after all I’ve said and done, you fear me. You demanded I bring you here; I didn’t want to, but I gave in to your wish just to please you. And now you are here you are acting scared, your bravery and courage have fled. Tell me Chloe? Do I take you home so we can cuddle up on my sofa while you cry away your fear, and hide like the victim you do not wish for people to see you as? Or, do you face your fear head on and trust in the fact that you know, deep down inside, that I wouldn’t hurt you?”
Well, that shocked me. I hadn’t expected him to say any of that. It was a challenge really. And a mental and possibly very physical one at that.
He waited patiently as I decided what to do. I wanted to look down at the rest of the stuff he had selected that was tucked under his arm, but I didn’t. Instead, I looked into his eyes and watched the stern look soften, and I knew. I knew it was safe to put my trust in this man.
He wasn’t giving me any bullshit lies, just a few home truths, no matter how I felt about it. He was doing exactly as I wanted because he wasn’t treating me like a victim. So I stuck my chin up, took in a deep breath and said, “Bring it on, Gregor.”
He raised one eyebrow and smirked down at me. Then kissed me softly at first, but then with more passion than I had ever experienced before.
I could hear the crinkle of packaging from under his arm and the crop dug into my hip, but I didn’t care. Kissing my big sexy vampire was becoming so addictive, and I was determined to get my fix before the naughty stuff started.
When he had me moaning into his mouth he pulled away and caressed my cheek with his free hand.
“I love you, Chloe,” he whispered, and my heart skipped a beat.
