“I’ve got you,” Deac whispered.
Costas opened his mouth when Deac pushed in, his hands grabbing Deac’s arms. It hurt, and he gasped, but then the pain morphed into something he’d never felt before. As more of Deac slid in, the fuller Costas felt. When Deac leaned down and kissed him, holding still, Costas closed his eyes and sank into the sensation rushing over his body.
Deac pulled out, and Costas moaned. The angle was perfect, and he felt Deac’s dick drag across his gland, lighting him up inside. He moaned with every thrust into his ass and was soon arching his hips up to meet them. He kissed Deac sloppily, his body chasing its own pleasure, and he let Deac have complete control.
Deac growled as he kissed him, his hips pumping faster into Costas’ ass. He mumbled words that made no sense, but Costas understood the sentiment behind them, and he felt the same way. The connection between them was undeniable, and he didn’t want it to end, but he still held back, and Deac sensed it, staying away from his neck.
Deac sped up, and Costas wrapped his legs around Deac’s waist, meeting him thrust for thrust. His hands tangled in Deac’s hair, and he kissed him with all the emotion he felt. Deac grunted and growled, whispered how good he felt, how he didn’t want it to end too soon, how he wanted to feel Costas come on his dick, clench around him, and hold him in a tight grip.
Costas moaned, and when Deac somehow got a hand on his dick, it only took a couple of strokes, and then he was coming. He shouted, his body bucking and jerking as wet heat spread between them. He was dimly away of Deac’s curse then his hips grinding against him, his body trembling.
He collapsed back on the bed, breathing hard, his hands sliding down Deac’s sweat slick back to fall to the bed. His legs slowly followed, and he smiled as Deac kissed his face. Soft, gentle kisses until he reached Costas’ lips where they shared a slow deep kiss.
“I never knew it could feel like that,” he whispered.
Deac stroked the hair away from his sweat damp forehead. “Always with us.”
“Because we’re mates.”
He nodded and kissed him. “It’ll get better when we mate.”
“Better than that?”
“Yeah. We’ll feel each other’s emotions. Can you imagine what that will feel like? You’ll feel me come as you do, and it will build and build. I can’t wait. Who knows? It might be too much, and I’ll pass out from the pleasure.”
Costas snorted and rolled his eyes. “I’d like to see that.”
“Well, how about we clean up, have something to drink, and then I’ll let you have my ass.”
“I’ve never—“
“I’ll show you.”
Costas grinned. “You’re on.”
CHAPTER TEN
HE LAY, WATCHING Costas sleep, a pleasant ache in his ass reminding him of what they’d done the night before. Costas might not have had sex with a man before, but he knew how to move, and Deac had loved every single second of it.
He wasn’t one to bottom often, but with Costas, he knew he’d do it at every opportunity. The feeling of his mate’s dick in his ass made his own dick ache, and he wanted to roll Costas over and slide in.
“I know what you’re thinking,” Costas murmured sleepily.
“How do you know that?”
“You’re rubbing your dick on my thigh. Your very hard dick. Thinking about sticking it somewhere, are you?”
“Well,” Deac drew the word out. “If I could, then I would.”
Costas spread his legs and wiggled his ass. “I think I’m stretched enough. You did a very thorough job.”
“Not too sore?”
“No. I’m good.”
Deac grinned and ran his hand down his mate’s back as he pulled the cover away from his body. He sucked in a breath when he saw him lying there in his bed and then ran his finger down his crack, teasing Costas’ hole, before slipping a finger inside. Yeah, he was stretched.
He reached across to the table and grabbed the lube, pouring some on his fingers. He dropped it to the side and slid in two fingers, fucking Costas’ ass with them. Costas rested his head on his forearms, moving softly. “Please, Deac. Don’t make me wait.”
Deac stroked his dick then moved between Costas’ thighs and rubbed the head of his dick across Costas’ ring. He could see it push out, and he bit his lip as he sunk in. He couldn’t stop the moan falling from his lips, and he pushed all the way in then stopped, panting over Costas’ back. It was so good. He was a shifter; he enjoyed sex, but this connection between them ramped everything up. He wanted to pound his mate’s ass, bite his neck, and mate them but he’d given his word, and he needed Costas to trust him.
He slid out then back in, the tight heat welcoming him as Costas’ ass stretched around his hard length. He gasped and groaned, his hands fisting the sheets. Costas pushed his ass high in the air, and Deac had to close his eyes at the visual. His mate wanted him, and it almost pushed him beyond his control.
He lay on top of Costas’ back and slowly fucked his mate, kissing his shoulders and back. Costas twisted his head, and they shared a sloppy kiss, both moaning when Deac’s dick sank deep. Deac carried on kissing Costas as he moved in his ass.
He shivered at the tight clench that pushed him closer to the edge. He wanted to last, but the way Costas’ body accepted him took his breath and willpower away. Costas pushed back, his ass arching into Deac’s thrusts, and Deac lifted up, grabbed Costas’ hips, and held on as he pumped in and out of his ass.
Costas reached under his body, and Deac moaned, knowing what his mate was doing. He could feel Costas tighten on his dick, and he shuddered beneath him. Deac gritted his teeth and carried on fucking Costas through his orgasm, but the tight grip he had on his dick had Deac grunting, his body trembling.
He moved slowly until Costas slumped on the bed, and he pulled out and pumped his dick over Costas’ back. Costas rolled over and watched until Deac threw his head back and shouted as he shot over Costas’ chest. He dropped forward, one arm holding up as he painted Costas with his come.
Costas lifted his hand and slowly rubbed it in, making Deac growl and his eyes flash. “Fuck, you look good covered in my come.”
Costas lifted his hand and, with his eyes on Deac’s, licked it clean. “You taste good.”
Deac fell over his mate and took him in a savage kiss. He groaned when he tasted himself on Costas’ tongue and held him on the bed as he dominated him. Costas took it all, letting Deac take control, and when he finally calmed down, Deac gentled the kiss.
“That was so fucking hot.”
“I gathered by the way you reacted.”
Deac smiled and kissed Costas’ swollen lips. “Sorry.”
Costas snorted and licked Deac’s lips. “No, you’re not.”
Grinning, Deac nodded. “You’re right. I like the idea of you wearing my scent. I love the idea of you tasting like me when I kiss you.”
“I should do it more often then.”
Deac hummed in agreement. “When can I stay over? I know you have the girls to think about.”
“They know about us, so let me explain a little more to them about us sharing a bed, and then you can stay.” Costas ran his hand through Deac’s hair, and Deac closed his eyes, savoring the touch. “At some point, we’ll mate properly, and then we’ll be moving in with you.”
“I can move in with you, if you prefer. I can come back for work—“
“Don’t be daft. You’re needed here, and I can travel to Salutem for work and help out in the surgery here. As your mate, I need to support you. You have a huge task ahead, and you need to be here where you can be reached and where you can protect your people.”
“You shouldn’t be the one to change your life, and you have the girls too.”
“Salutem is what, about thirty minutes from here? The girls can stay in their school because I’ll still work there. They’ll make friends here, and they’ll still have their friends there. At some point, I’ll change schools and they’ll have
more friends then they’ll know what to do with. We can make this work. Let me sit down with them, and then we can plan for the future.” He grimaced and slid off the bed. “I need a shower. I’m sticky and itchy.”
Deac jumped up and held his hand out. “Let’s shower together, and then you can drive back home.”
Costas smiled and took his hand. “Let’s.”
Sitting at his desk, Costas checked the file for his next patient and frowned when he saw an entry he knew he hadn’t made. It was a nothing comment, but he knew it hadn’t been him. He picked up the phone and called through to reception.
“Sandra, has anyone been in Mr. Jenkins file recently?”
“Not that I know of, unless Dylan has. You know he’s in the process of moving here, and he was here over the weekend. Maybe he had a look while he familiarizes himself with our system.”
“Could be. Thanks.” He put the phone down and chewed his lip. He knew it wasn’t Dylan, because he’d shown Dylan the system and had watched what he’d done. He closed the file and opened another, but found nothing suspicious. He couldn’t do anything until after lunch, and then he’d search more.
The morning crawled by, his mind on the change he’d seen. As soon as his last patient left, Costas began his search. He started working back from the patients he’d recently seen, spotting the odd discrepancy here and there. He kept a note of the files he thought had been accessed and after an hour, he had ten names.
He sat back in his chair and furrowed his brow. Why these files? What was it about these patients that could be of interest? How many others had been accessed, and was it just here in Salutem, or was it in Morefield as well?
He glanced at the clock and pushed his thoughts to one side. He had more patients to see.
The afternoon passed by a snail’s pace, and when he finally said goodbye to Sandra, the receptionist, he rushed back to his desk and ran through the ten files again. Biting his lip, he slowly shook his head. Someone had accessed these files. He knew it in his gut.
Picking up the phone, he quickly dialed Indy’s number. “Costas, how are you?”
“I think someone has been accessing the files here at the clinic. When can you get here?”
“Give me ten minutes, and I’ll be there. Are you sure?”
“There’s something... I know I didn’t alter one of the files, but it’s changed. A sentence in the wrong place where it makes no sense to be. I checked some others and have found ten that I suspect have been opened.”
“Any link between them?”
“Not that I can see at first glance. I’ll look in other files while I wait for you to arrive. I’m going to call Deac now.”
“Good. I’ll be there soon. Don’t leave the building in case it’s being watched.”
Costas swallowed hard and stared out of the window. “Okay. I’ll lock the doors now too.”
Indy hung up, and Costas jogged around the clinic, locking all windows and doors. Once he was back in his office and sitting at his desk, he spent the time waiting for Indy opening and closing files until he heard a knock on the door. He paused before he opened it. “Who is it?”
“It’s me—Indy.”
He sighed in relief and opened the door, letting Indy in before locking it behind him. “This way.”
He led Indy to his office and showed him the list of names. Indy frowned, his eyes scanning the list, then he looked at the screen. “Any others?”
“Not yet. It’ll take me some time to go through all the files, and I have to check them all, Indy. I can’t risk leaving any unchecked because we have no idea who they could be targeting. I’m going to go through these ten first and check medical histories, relationships, etc.”
“Good plan. How long before—“ A knock on the door had Indy pausing. “Probably Deac. I’ll let him in.”
Costas nodded and waited for the shifters to return. As soon as Deac entered the room, he approached Costas and kissed him. “You okay?”
Costas nodded. “I think I found something.”
“Yeah, Indy mentioned. What do you think it is?”
“I have no idea.” Costas shrugged and opened the first file he’d noticed the change in. “Mr. Filip Jenkins. Cheetah shifter. Married, sorry mated, with a young son. Wife had a normal pregnancy and birth.”
“Why him?” Indy folded his arms over his chest. “I know him to say hi to, and he’s always come across as a nice family man. Works hard as a trash collector. There’s nothing about him that stands out. His wife is still on maternity leave.”
“What about the others?” Deac leaned on the table. “Who else have you found these weird changes in?”
“Lauren Bell. Human with a cougar mate.”
“So one shifter and one human?” Indy shook his head. “It makes no sense.”
“I’ll keep looking. I have an hour before I have to collect the girls.”
“Keep us informed and good spot too. Who knows what they’ve had access to because of Alvarez.”
“We need to improve security here. Can Jerome or one of the IT guys come in and handle it?” Costas glanced between Indy and Deac. “I don’t want anyone having access to these files.”
“We need to improve security across the board. Something we’ve lost focus on.”
“We worked on securing the town and village first. I never even thought about the files here or elsewhere.”
“The dentist, opticians. Anywhere that personal data is be held. Banks as well.” Costas sighed and messed with the mouse, watching the cursor move around the screen.
“Fuck.” Deac ran a hand through his hair. “I need to do the same at Morefield.”
“Something else to add to the list of jobs we need to do. Just when we think we’re getting a grip on things, something else pops up.” Indy rubbed his face with his hand. “I’m...”
“You need to get the business owners in and tell them. Most are aware of what’s happening. Have them check their files, see if they find anything out of the ordinary. It could give us a path, a clue maybe, of what they want.” Costas pointed to the screen. “Medical records make sense. They want to know about shifters, how they work, how they function. What about our industry here? They want to find out as much as they can. They have a plan and they’ll follow it through.”
“Deac, let Costas work his way through the files. While he’s doing that, I’ll call a meeting.”
“Full Council?” Deac asked. “We’re still unsure who we can trust.”
Indy winced. “Those we trust for now.”
Indy nodded to Costas and left the room. Deac pulled Costas up and hugged him. “Be careful. This concerns me.”
“Me too, but I’ll keep looking, and I’ll let you know if any other names come up.”
“I have to go. Be careful, and call me if you sense anything out of the ordinary. You and the girls are more important to me than those files.”
Costas kissed Deac. “I will. Go and figure this out.” He followed Deac out and, with a final kiss, locked the door behind him. Back in his office, he stared at the screen. He only had an hour. He needed to find more.
CHAPTER ELEVEN
DEAC SAT IN the security building, reading the list of names Costas had provided. He chewed the inside of his lip, sucking it in and sighing heavily. “What’s the link?”
“We need more information, unfortunately.” Vir scanned the list and looked at Ish, who shrugged in response.
“Has our guest revealed anything else?” Indy asked.
“Euan’s with him now. We should head over and ask him about this.” Vir stood and waited for Ish to wheel his chair out.
Deac followed behind, chuckling when Ish batted Vir’s hands away. Vir wanted to help, and Ish wanted to do it for himself. Eventually, Ish threw his hands up in the air. “Pick me up then.” Vir grunted but did, jostling Ish to get him in position. “Hey. Careful with the goods.”
Deac laughed, and Ish winked at him from over Vir’s shoulder. “Stop flirting, mate
.”
Ish kissed Vir’s cheek. “I’m yours.”
“Good thing too. I like Deac. It would be a shame if I had to kill him.”
Deac burst out laughing, shaking his head. “You can try, but I think Costas could do some serious damage on your next physical.”
Vir paused tilted his head. “Yeah, he could, and I like my balls where they are.”
“Me too. I’ve grown attached to them.”
“I don’t need to hear about my brother’s nuts, thanks,” Indy said as he walked ahead of them.
They walked toward a small building, hidden within the trees, and Indy knocked before entering. Inside, Euan sat on a chair opposite their guest. He nodded when everyone came in and stood, giving Ish his seat.
“Nothing, so far, or he’s very good at hiding.”
“He’s a low level grunt. I doubt he knows more than what he’s told us.” Indy squatted in front of the man, ripped off his blindfold, and flashed his fangs. “Why are you looking in our files? Our surgery files?”
The man glared at Indy and remained silent. Indy sighed. “And it went so well at first. If you have nothing more to give us, I don’t see the point in keeping you around.”
He stood and walked over to Vir, and Deac watched as they ‘talked’. Vir glanced at Ish, who nodded. Indy muttered, “What do we do with him? We can’t keep him a prisoner here forever. Do we let him go or ship him off somewhere else?”
“Kill him.” Euan stepped next to Deac. “Don’t leave your enemies alive. If he escapes, imagine what he can tell them about us and the changes we’re making. He’d see things as he escaped. We can’t risk that when we’re making changes to protect everything and everyone here.”
Indy winced. “I’m not happy with that. We’re not murderers.”
Euan looked over at Vir and Ish. “Well?”
“We can’t lower ourselves to their level.”
