Lost in Paradise
Page 4
She bit her lip again and all Noah could only wonder was what those full, pink lips would feel like wrapped around his cock while he watched Ronan take her hard and fast from behind.
His erection bucked in his hand. He let go before he lost control. He didn’t want that. If he lost control of himself, he wanted to do so while buried deep inside her silky heat.
Moving forward, Noah reached up and cupped her breasts, watching her nipples harden as he brushed his thumbs over the pink tips. Leaning forward, Noah covered her mouth with his, the kiss explosive.
Stacia pressed close, wrapping her arms around his neck. Her kiss filled him with so much hunger and need that he barely stopped himself from throwing her on the floor and fucking her with no more foreplay. She met his kiss with an excitement that matched his own. He thrust his tongue into her mouth, mapping every dip and hollow, every tooth as he pulled her tighter against him, his cock pressing against her lower stomach.
Pulling back, Stacia met his gaze, her amber eyes growing to a darker, whiskey shade as she stared up at him, her lids half closed.
Noah stared down into those unusual eyes, his heart pounding, his cock throbbing. His hands wandered lower, grasping the rounded globes of her rear. Lifting her, he nuzzled her chest, kissing her between the breasts and, losing his last thread of control, he lifted her, settling her slick opening over his hard cock.
“Are you a virgin,” he asked as sweat beaded upon his brow. He didn’t know what he would do if she said yes. Somehow, he would have to find the strength to control the powerful need coursing through him long enough to prepare her properly.
“No.” She shook her head and laughed. “I haven’t been a virgin for years.”
Noah closed his eyes and thanked the gods that he didn’t have to wait another minute. “I’ll make this good for you. I promise, but for now, I can’t…I can’t wait.”
The el calor burned through him. His beast demanded he take his mate. Now! Starting this quickly was the only way he could keep his animal under control.
Leaning forward, he pressed his forehead against hers. “I’m sorry, baby. I want this to be good for you. I want to know you’re ready. Please tell me…”
Gods, listen to him. It was as though he was an untried boy, not an experienced male. He was ninety-seven years old for God’s sake…
Stacia smiled and pulled him tighter. Wrapping her legs around his waist, she rose up and, keeping eye contact, slowly lowered herself over his cock.
Noah slid inside her as her slow movements took him deeper and deeper within her.
“Do it,” she said through gritted teeth. “Fuck me. Now.”
That was all it took. Noah grasped her hips and drove inside her. Spinning around, he sat her on the counter. The amenities tray went flying. Cotton swabs, cotton balls and plastic cups and massage oil hit the floor with a clatter, but he didn’t give a damn.
“Harder, Noah. Fuck me harder,” she said through her clenched teeth as he continues his powerful thrusts.
All he could think about was driving deeper and deeper inside her. Her slick channel gripped him tight. A silken fist wrapped around his cock, driving him closer and closer to orgasm.
Thrusting his hand between them, he stroked her clit. Three times his thumb grazed the hardened nub.
That was all it took to drive her over the edge. Stacia screamed, her body gripping him tighter, clamping down on his cock as she came. It drove him over the precipice. His cock throbbed as he shot thick ropes of cum deep into her clasping channel.
Chapter Eleven
Stacia clung to Noah, her body trembling. Reaching up, she smoothed his hair back from his face.
“I’m sorry I rushed things.” Noah kissed her forehead. “It will be better the next time…I hope.” He gave her a crooked smile.
“Holy cripes, Noah. If that wasn’t your best. I’m afraid to see what your best is. Your best just might kill me.”
Noah leaned forward and took her left nipple into his mouth, suckling lightly as he bit down on the hardened nub. His slight nips gentle.
“I don’t know if I’m ready to come again so soon,” she said as she grasped his head and pulled him closer, her fingers feathering though his short black hair.
“You’re ready. Believe me,” he said against her breast. Lifting her gently, he carried her to the tub. “It’s almost overflowing. Thank goodness for the overflow drain and the massive boiler Gemma has.”
He stood her up in the tub. “Don’t sit yet. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to explain to Gemma why we flooded out the room below us.”
“Uh…no. That wouldn’t be my first choice, either,” Stacia added. She found that she liked the woman. Under different circumstances, they could have been good friends, she was sure of it. It wasn’t meant to be, however. In a few days, she would have to return home or lose her job. Her vacation would end and she would have no choice but to go home.
Yet, now was her time. She wanted this man any way and every way she could have him. Just watching his eyes smolder with passion every time he glanced her way forced her passions higher and higher.
She wanted Noah, even needed him more than she’d ever dreamed she would need a man. Stacia found that she wanted to feel his bare skin brushing against hers. His hands skimming over her flesh as he brought her body to a fevered pitch.
Need slammed through her when he bent over and released the plug. He turned his head, thrusting his tongue into her navel. One hand at the small of her back held her up, the other delved between her legs, his fingers sliding through the slick folds to thrum her sensitive clit.
It almost brought her to tears to realize that she wanted to wake up next to this man tomorrow and the day after and the day after that. Looking at him, she knew that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with him.
As crazy as it seemed after such a short time, Stacia knew this man was the one for her. Well…she bit her lip. He was one of the two with whom she would love to make a life filled with love. Ronan was the other. It was just too damned bad she couldn’t have them both.
Noah reached down and set the plug once again. Gently, he pressed her shoulders, easing her down into the water. Leaning around her, he picked up the bath gel, rubbing a tiny pearl of the soap between his hands before he began a slow massage of her breasts.
Stacia leaned forward with a moan as he twisted and plucked at her nipples. Reaching up, he pulled a wash cloth from the rack overhead and lathered it before setting it below the surface and between her legs.
“I can do that.” Her face burned. Never had anyone attempted to do that for her.
“Shh… I want to. Besides,” he said with a grin. “You’ll get used to it.”
Stacia’s throat burned. No she wouldn’t. She would be gone in a few days. The worst thing that could happen to her would be to get used to it.
Noah washed himself off quickly while she washed her hair. She had just started to stand when he grasped her wrist. “Not so fast, baby. I’m not through with you yet.” He raised one of his perfectly arched brows. “Are you ready for more?”
More? Already? She’d barely just gotten over their first round and he was ready to go again? Stacia bit her lip. “More?” She almost cringed when her voice came as little more than a squeak.
“Yes, more.” He grinned. “Only this time I’m going to tunnel my cock up your tight ass.”
Stacia stared at him for a moment. She’d lost control of her mouth. It flopped open and closed several times before she finally regained control and managed to hold it closed.
“I…um. I don’t know about that.”
“Darlin’ you’re going to love it—especially when Ronan and I take you together.”
“What? Together?” Had she died and gone to some sort of Tease Stacia hell? She’d seen the strange families in this town, but never once thought they would have such a relationship with an outsider.
“Of cours
e.” He gave her an earnest look that she wanted to take seriously. Was he just playing with her or was he serious. The mayor’s wife, Nina, had told her this was an unusual town with unusual men. Hadn’t she said that all of the men in this town suffered from some strange ability to fall in love at first sight?
Stacia’s stomach clenched at the thought. Did she really want to live here with both of these men? Did she really want to know what it felt like to be a Stacia sandwich between two incredibly handsome men who turned her on like nobody’s business?
Not only was her answer yes. It was Hell yes!
Chapter Twelve
Ronan woke up on his back in the doc’s house. He glanced up at the IV bag over his head and then glanced down to his arms.
Since there was no evidence of needles, it could only mean that they’d removed the IV at least an hour ago.
He pushed himself up on his elbows and stared down at his flat, unscarred stomach. He didn’t know how he was going to explain that to Stacia. He couldn’t even entertain the idea that she wouldn’t only notice that he had healed, but that he also had no scars.
“Oh! You’re up,” Nina said as she waltzed into the room. “Noah and Stacia are at the lodge. I told the doc and his wife that I would stay here until you woke up. We figured you’d want to know where your mate had gotten off to.” She opened the room-darkening curtains and raised the blind.
He was surprised to see that it was light outside. “How long have I been unconscious?”
“Oh, about a day.” She rummaged around in a small cupboard and pulled out a pair of jeans. “Noah left these for you. The ones you were wearing are pretty much toast.”
They would have been. He’d taken on a grizzly to get the bear’s mind off attacking Stacia. He wasn’t certain what was wrong with the bear. It was possible it was rabid, of course. Ronan couldn’t imagine what a rabid bear could do to the human population. He didn’t want to imagine it.
While his people had little to fear from the disease, the rabid bears could rip them to shreds. They wouldn’t have to worry about sticking around long enough for the rabies to kill them. The bear would do a good job on his own.
Sitting up, he kept the sheet in his lap. He wasn’t bashful by any means, but being naked in front of the alpha’s mate was a good way to land himself on his back again—permanently.
“What do you mean, they’re at the lodge?” Even though he knew he shouldn’t hope for impossible things, Ronan found himself doing just that. Had he mated her and, if so, had he told her about their kind?”
“Hey, there.”
Ronan raised his leg at the sound of that husky, female voice. It was Stacia. Just the sound of her voice made him hard. He’d known her less than a handful of days and already he recognized her voice and her scent when she entered a room.
“Hey, you,” he replied with a smile. “How are you doing?” He searched her gaze, and found worry in her eyes.
“I should be asking you that.” Her gaze shifted from his face to his stomach that he hadn’t thought to cover. Someone had already removed the bandages and she could see nothing but his unblemished stomach.
“What…how?” Her gaze shifted to his face. “The bear mauled you. I saw it.” She turned to Noah. “You saw it, didn’t you?” She turned to Nina. “He was torn and bloody last night when we left. How is this possible?”
“I uh…” Nina headed for the door. “I’m going to let you two explain this to her.” Turning to Stacia, she smiled and rested her hand on her forearm. “It’s going to frighten you. There’s no doubt about that, but they aren’t crazy and neither are you.” She turned back to Ronan. “Good luck.” Spinning back around, she left the room, closing the door behind her.
“I don’t understand…” Stacia shook her head as though to clear it. “I mean. I’m glad that there’s nothing wrong with you, but you were near death yesterday…weren’t you?”
Her lips thinned as she stared first at him, and then turned her gaze on Noah. “Is this some kind of sick trick? Is the whole town in on it? Is this how you all get your kicks, scaring the crap out of unsuspecting women who just happen to stumble upon your little hamlet?”
Stacia faced Noah. “And you.” She poked him in the chest with her index finger, emphasizing each word. “I hope you had fun last night, because I can tell you it’s never happening again.” Stopping she took a deep breath and rubbed her stomach. “I’m going to be sick.” She glanced at each of them in turn. “You both make me sick.” Spinning around, she left the room.
Ronan didn’t miss the glimmer of tears in her eyes. He wished she’d stayed long enough to let them explain. She wasn’t thinking. When she’d thought about it, she’d remember that she saw the bear tearing into him before she lost consciousness.
“We need to go after her,” he said standing. Grabbing the jeans, he pulled them on and buttoned the fly. He grabbed the t-shirt Nina had pulled from the cabinet and pulled it over his head. It was a little small, but it would do.
“I know.” Noah tossed him his boots. “Hurry the hell up. She’s getting away.”
“Yeah.” The last thing Ronan wanted was for this one to get away. He needed her. They needed her. If only they could convince her of that fact. “She’s not going to get far. Not if I have anything to say about it.”
“That’s what I’m afraid of, old friend. She’s not from Paradise. We might not have anything to say about it. That scares me.”
“It scares me, too.” Ronan sighed. “More than you know.” Once dressed, Ronan led the way out of the room from the large house.
“Where to now,” Noah asked.
Ronan stopped at the bottom of the steps and spun around. “Where did you two go last night?”
“We went to the lodge.” He shrugged. “It was dinner time and we were both hungry. Gemma had a roast on. You know how I love that woman’s roast.”
“So long as that’s all you love about her. Her mates will tear you apart if you even look at her wrong. You know that, don’t you?”
“I’m not looking at anything but her food.” Noah shook his head. “Do you think our mate can cook like that?” He rubbed his stomach. “I sure hope so.”
“It’s not going to matter how she cooks if she won’t have us.” Ronan shook his head. “Where do you think she went?”
“I have no idea.” Noah punched the light post beside him. “Damn it, Ronan, I love her. She’s sexy, funny, sexy, hot, sexy…” He shook his head. We have to find her.”
“I’ve fallen for her already, too.” Ronan laughed, though he didn’t feel much like laughing. “We find the one woman with whom we can both make a life with and look what happens. We screw things up.” He rounded the corner. The diner was three buildings down the street and the lodge nestled at the end of the road in a cul-de-sac. “We’ll check the diner first. Maybe she ran inside because it was the first place she saw. Besides, if she drinks coffee, she might have gone inside for a cup to steady her nerves.”
“It’s worth a shot.” Noah sighed. “What do we have to lose other than everything?”
Chapter Thirteen
Stacia sat inside the diner reading the menu, her eyes finally having adjusted to the lack of light. Someone closed the blinds on the west windows, blocking the glare from the afternoon sun.
What could she do? She felt like a fool. She should have known that someone so frickin’ hawt wouldn’t want anything to do with her, once the sun came up.
She should have realized that this was some sort of scam. This entire town was probably running a scam.
“Can I get you anything, hon?”
Glancing up, Stacia met the gaze of a middle-aged woman, wearing a white blouse and black slacks. According to her name tag her name was Sarah.
“Um…no thank you. I just wanted to sit for a minute.”
The waitress frowned. “You look thirsty. I’ll just go get you a cup of coffee.”
“No! Thanks. Reall
y. I don’t have any money. I’d just like to sit here for a minute, if you don’t mind.”
“I don’t mind, sugar.” Sarah peered over her shoulder. “But you’d better order something now, or you might get stuck with something you don’t want.” She glanced over at the only other occupied table. “Do you see those two?”
Stacia glanced at the two strange men. “Yes.” She glanced up at the woman, her brows drawn together. “What about them?”
“Well…now that they’ve heard you say you have no money, each of them will order you something. You don’t want them to waste their money, do you?”
“I don’t understand. Why would they order me something? They don’t even know me.”
“It doesn’t matter, hon. You’re a woman. A lone woman never pays for anything in this town.”
“That’s just weird. Why don’t they pay for anything?”
“Well,” she said, pulling her pad and pen from her pocket. “I think it all stems back to when the founders first settled here. They didn’t have many women and any woman that happened into town that weren’t already taken, were…courted. The men bought everything for them.”
Stacia’s stomach clenched when she thought of Noah and his total lack of worry about her financial situation. What if they lured outsiders here and held them until they’d brainwashed them to stay?
“They don’t…” She paused to lick her lips, almost afraid to ask the question. “They don’t hold them captive, do they?”
The woman laughed. “I don’t believe you just asked me that. Of course no one holds people captive here.” She sobered after a moment. “Well…not anymore, at any rate.”
“Oh, God.” Stacia stood with the intention to run from the establishment and leave this town on foot, if that’s what it took to get away from these crazy people. “I have to go.”
She’d almost reached the door when the door opened and Ronan walked into the restaurant, Noah behind him.
