Something Just Ain't Right Part 2 Page 2

by Sheena Binkley

An hour later and I was back in the guest house putting on a pair of black shoes when Hayley walked out of the bathroom. She looked sexy dressed in a gold printed minidress. She glanced at me as she went to the mirror.

“I didn’t think I would have enough time to buy anything. Luckily, the boutique down the street was still open,” she said while putting her hair up off of her neck. I walked over to her and carefully grabbed her hands, making her hair fall back on her shoulders.

“What are you doing?” she asked.

“You don’t need to do anything more. You look beautiful right now.”

She blushed as she stared at me. “You don’t look too bad yourself. Thanks for giving me the money for the dress.”

  “It was money well spent.”

She leaned against the dresser as I pulled her up to sit down. She spread her legs to invite me in. I glanced at her while she put her arms around me.

“You know Will probably will interrupt us in a few,” she said.

“Trust me, he won’t. I took his key.”

She smiled and touched my chest. “I know we should take advantage of this night since this will probably be our only time out.”

“Yeah, until everything blows over. I never told you thank you for everything.”

She stared up at me as I held her tighter.

“Thank you for being with me through all of this, including saving my life. You don’t know how much that means to me.”

“You would have done the same for me.”

“I know. I didn’t know when would be the best time to do this, but I wanted to give you something.”

She looked surprised as I went to the other dresser near the bed. I opened the top drawer and pulled out a tiny box. There were a lot of things inside of that safe deposit box, including something my dad gave to my mom, and she gave to me when I turned 16. I walked over to Hayley and smiled.

“This is something that has been a part of my family for years and I knew once we got together that I wanted you to have it.”

I pulled out a diamond ring and slid it on her ring finger. Hayley didn’t know what to say as she looked from the ring to me.

“This was the ring my dad proposed to my mom with. It was previously my grandmother’s ring. She gave it to my dad because he was the first to propose. Anyway, my mom gave it to me when I turned 16 and figured whoever I fell in love with would be the one wearing it. This doesn’t mean that we’re engaged or anything, but you are so special to me, and I would be honored if you would wear this ring.”

She smiled as she continued to look at the ring. “I don’t understand. How were you able to take this with you? We didn’t pack anything.”

“It was kept in the safe deposit box. I quickly took it out when you weren’t looking.”

A tear fell down her cheek as she stared at me again. “Morgan, I would be proud to wear this ring.”

I smiled as she leaned in to kiss me. She stared at me and put her head on my chest.

  “What’s going through your mind?”

My shirt was becoming wet with her tears as I picked up her chin to stare at her.

“It’s just that everything has finally hit me. So much has happened and with you doing this, shows how much you truly love me.”

“Why would you doubt that? I told you my feelings for you. I don’t take that word lightly, so everything I feel about you is real. Don’t ever forget that.”

She nodded, and I picked her up from the dresser.

“What are you doing?” She asked.

“Will’s gonna have to wait. I’m about to make love to my beautiful girlfriend.”

She kissed me as I lay her down on the bed. I hope she never doubts my feelings for her again. I meant what I said about being in love with her. Nothing would ever make me think otherwise.

  Hayley

Damn, now I regret going out. After what Morgan and I had just shared, I wanted to experience that for the rest of the night, but I guess we had to keep up our end of the bargain before Will started bitching. I knew eventually he probably would. Plus, I wanted to keep an eye on him. I still believe he’s up to something, so it’s best to be near him to get the dirt on him.

Morgan and I were heading to The Palace, listening to the radio while taking in Dallas’ nightlife. I smiled, as I began getting excited about being out, interacting with other people and ringing in the New Year in style.

Morgan was focused on the road while his hand rested on my thigh. He quickly glanced at me before looking at the road again.

“So, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking and I think we should try and contact everyone to let them know we’re okay.”

I glanced at him while he made a left turn onto another street.

“Are you serious? Do you think that’s wise?”

“Why wouldn’t it? We could always get a pre-paid phone and contact who we need to. I know you miss your family, especially during the holidays,” he stated.

“I’m pretty sure you miss your mom too,” I replied.

He nodded and pulled into The Palace’s parking lot. “Yeah, I do. I’m sure she’s probably asking Aunt Doris, a bunch of questions that she can’t answer.”

“I know she is. She’s worried about you since you didn’t tell her anything.”

“Just like you didn’t tell your family and no matter how much you’ll probably deny it, I know you want to contact Lamar.”

I looked ahead at the parking lot when he touched my shoulder.

“Baby, no matter what has happened between me and him, he’s still your brother. You probably need to talk to him.”

“Why? He has done so much to hurt me that I don’t think I can forgive him. He invaded my privacy and was trying to ruin your life when he was the one involved with what happened to Craig. Honestly, I don’t care if I don’t ever talk to him again.”

“Stop lying to yourself. You want to talk to him and you should. What he did to me still pisses me off and probably the next time I see him I might want to punch him again, but he’s family Hales. You can’t erase that.”

“Sorry, Morgan, but no I don’t want to contact him. My parents, definitely. Him, he can rot in hell. Now, let’s have some fun tonight,” I said.

I got out of the car and waited for Morgan to get out. After much debate, Morgan did decide to make a few changes to the Mustang so no one would spot us while we were out that night. He changed the paint color and switched over the license plate which was a hard process, but he was able to manage it.

“I won’t talk about it anymore tonight, but it will be brought up again.”

“Fine and I’ll have the same answer.”

Morgan shook his head as took my hand. “Damn you’re stubborn, but so fucking sexy.”

“Don’t you forget it,” I said and smiled.

We both waited near the entrance for Will and his crew to arrive. Honestly, I didn’t want to hang out with anyone Will knew. They probably were just like him, and I didn’t want to waste my only night out with a bunch of mindless idiots.

A few minutes later, Will finally pulled up into the parking lot. We waited for him and his friends to get out of the car which took a good five minutes.

“What the hell are they doing?” I asked.

Will walked over to us with that same weird grin he had on Thanksgiving. Another shiver went through me as I rolled my eyes and looked towards the entrance.

“Sorry, we took so long. Felicia decided to change three times before leaving.”

“I did not.” A girl, who I assumed was Felicia walked over to us. She gave everyone a bright smile while giving Morgan a hug. My attitude face quickly went into effect as she slowly moved her hands up and down his back while rubbing her body on him. I quickly cleared my throat to get their attention.

“May we help you?” She asked while giving me an attitude of her own.

“Yes, you can. For starters, get your breast implanted ass off of my man before I deflate those things wit
h my fucking hands.”

“Do you have to take it there, Hayley?” Will asked.

I rolled my eyes again at him and sighed. I wished he would keep his mouth shut.

She gave an embarrassed look while pushing her blonde hair off of her face. “I didn’t know you were with him. I…I…”

  “Why because I’m black?”

“Seriously, the race card.” Will sarcastically stated.

This dude really needed to shut up.

“Okay, everyone, stop. Felicia, this is my girlfriend, Hayley. Hayley, Felicia. She has been Will’s friend since middle school.”

“I’m really sorry, Hayley. I seriously didn’t know.”

  I nodded and looked ahead.

After Morgan introduced me to the rest of Will’s friends, one of them named Shantel, pulled me to the side and smiled. She pulled her honey brown hair from her shoulders and her teal dress slowly started rising. She carefully smoothed it down to cover up part of her dark brown thighs.

“Hey, I could tell you wanted to punch Felicia. Trust me, that’s an everyday thing with me.”

I smiled. “So why are you hanging out with her?”

“Let’s say it isn’t by choice. She’s my stepsister. Unfortunately, my dad married her mom, and I’ve been living in pure hell ever since.”

I laughed while she shook her head. “So, how do you deal with her and Will at the same time?”

“Once you take a lot of vodka shots, nothing else seems to matter.”

“Well, I’m going to need a lot of those tonight. Just don’t let Morgan know.”

“Ah, you’re underage. Trust me, I’ll hook you up. I actually work here.”

“Really. From the looks of it outside, is it…”

Shantel laughed. “No, it’s not a strip club or anything like that. It’s a high-class establishment. The owner, Kyle, is real cool, not to mention fine as hell, but you wouldn’t notice that since you have Morgan, which I have to admit can definitely hold his own in that department. He is too sexy.”

I glanced at Shantel wondering if I should take offense to that. I know he is, but I don’t need other women to remind me.

She noticed the look on my face and smiled. “Trust me, I don’t want Morgan. Been there and definitely done that.”

I raised an eyebrow as she walked ahead of me to the entrance. She turned around and smiled. “Are you coming?”

I stood there and looked at her then at Morgan, who was near the entrance with Will. He glanced at the two of us and gave me an apologetic look.

I guess that was something he failed to tell me.

We headed inside, and I immediately took in the atmosphere. It was pretty high class. The name definitely fit the place as beige, tan, and teal colors were displayed throughout the room. Crystal chandeliers were hung throughout as both men and women dressed in beige and tan attire walked around taking people’s orders. Rich Gang’s, “Lifestyle” was pumping through the speakers as we walked over to the bar. While everyone was getting their orders in, I nervously looked away at the guy that was behind the bar. I took a peek at him and quickly looked away again. Honey-colored skin, light brown eyes and a body that most women would drool over. This guy was fucking sexy. Shantel went behind the bar, and Morgan was talking to Will when the guy came over to me and gave a thousand-watt smile. His eyes locked with mine as he grabbed a glass from underneath the counter.

“And what can I get for you?” He asked in a baritone voice. Shit, even his voice was sexy.

  “Uh, uh…”

“She’ll have whatever soda you have available,” Morgan said. He put an arm around me and kissed my cheek.

“I think I was asking her, not you.”

“I know, but I answered your question, so can you get that drink now?”

The guy smirked and went to get my drink.

I gave my own smirk at him while he smiled. “What?”

“He was just taking my order.”

“He was flirting with you. I know when a man is trying to get with a beautiful woman, and that’s what he was doing with you.”

“Why, because you did it before?”

“Of course, but I didn’t have to do as much as he was doing. I can easily get a girl to want me.”

I stared at him while he smiled. “You know all too well about that, don’t you?” He asked while kissing my neck. He ran his tongue down my earlobe which made me sigh. Just knowing what his tongue could do made me instantly wet.

“Hmm, I know that look all too well. Just that look alone is making me hard.”

He moved my hand down to touch him while continuing to kiss my earlobe. His finger was slowly rubbing my clit, and I was moaning. No one really knew what was going on, except for the bartender, who was staring at us with a curious expression.

“I think we have an audience,” I whispered.

“Well, let’s give him a show then.”

Before he could go any further, the guy came over to us with my drink.

“If you two want to have your own celebration, then you can take it to one of my private rooms upstairs.”

  “Yours?” I said.

Shantel came over to us and smiled. “Oh, Hayley, this is Kyle, the owner of this place. Kyle, Hayley and Morgan.”

I continued to stare as Kyle gave me another smile before walking off.

Morgan rolled his eyes and sighed. “I don’t like him.”

  “You don’t even know him.”

“I know his type. I used to be his type. Anyway, let’s not talk about him anymore. I want to see you move.”

I smiled as he took my hand and led me to the dance floor. I suddenly stopped once I realized what was going on.

“Hold up. So you’re annoyed by him because he was sort of flirting with me, but you haven’t said two words about you and Shantel. I should be the one upset with you about the little tidbit I discovered.”

“Wait, don’t move this to me. You and I both know how I was before. I didn’t care about anyone, but myself.”

“You could have told me about her, especially since we were meeting with her.”

“I seriously didn’t know she was coming out with us. I knew Felicia was…”

“She’s such a nice girl. Did you fuck her too?”

“No. Why would it matter anyway? That’s all in my past now. I’m with you now, so that’s all what counts.”

“I get that, but you could have informed me about your sexual past. Is there anyone else I need to know about?”

  “No, Hales.”

I sighed as he put his arms around me. “Shouldn’t we be ringing in the New Year right now?”

  “I guess we should, but…”

“But nothing. Let’s enjoy this night and actually be normal for once.”

I nodded, knowing he was right. I needed to stop thinking about everyone and have fun. I looked over near the bar and saw Kyle staring at me. I turned to Morgan, giving him my full attention.

Now, they were two people I needed to keep an eye on.

  ***

After dancing with Morgan for almost an hour, I needed to take a break. While he went to the restroom, I went back to the bar and was glad to find an empty seat. It was 10 minutes before midnight so hopefully he’ll be back in time for our New Year’s kiss.

I looked over and saw Kyle talking to some woman as she was slightly running her hand down his arm. He gave her that same smile he gave me earlier, which made me shake my head. I guess Morgan was right.

I moved my head to the beat of the song being played when I felt a hand go down my back. I moved away knowing it wasn’t Morgan. I knew his touch, and this wasn’t it. I quickly turned around and saw Will staring at me. I shivered, wishing he wasn’t standing so close to me.

  “What do you want?”

“I saw you over here and I wanted to talk to you.” He said as he pulled up the chair beside me that someone just moved from.

“I don’t think we have much to say to each other.” />
Will smiled. “That’s where you’re wrong. We have a lot to discuss.”

I glanced at him while he gave me a mischievous smile. This guy really did give me the creeps.

“I just want to know why you don’t like me? I have tried to make you feel welcome since you set foot at my parents’ house. I mean, you don’t know me so why are you giving me the cold shoulder?”

I gave him an unpleased look and stared ahead at the alcohol bottles lined up behind the bar. He needed to get out of my face before I embarrassed him.

  “I’m waiting for an answer.”

“And you need to walk away.”

Will looked down and scratched the back of his head before he looked at me.

“Listen, I know you care about Morgan, so I just want us to be civil towards each other for his sake. I’m willing to do that if you are too. I’m not sure why you don’t like me, especially if you haven’t taken the chance to get to know me.”

I took a deep breath while he sighed. “Do you have trust issues with people?” He asked.

I continued to stare at the bottles when Kyle walked over to me. “Is he bothering you?”

I looked at him and then at Will, who rolled his eyes. “No, I’m fine.”

I looked straight at Will figuring I needed to do this so he would leave me alone. “You’re right. I haven’t given you a chance, and for that, I’m sorry. I’ll try and get to know you better before I pass off any more judgments about you.”

Will gave a tiny smile as he got up from the chair. “I’m glad to hear that. Maybe one day we could go out and get to know each other a little bit more. Of course, Morgan can come as well.”

  I smiled. “Of course.”

Will smiled again and walked away while I rolled my eyes. I still didn’t trust him.

“What’s the deal between you and him?” Kyle asked.

I stared at him and sighed. “Nothing really. He’s my boyfriend’s cousin. I don’t like him.”

“Why? He tried to get with you?”

I shook my head. “Nothing like that. Thank God. He just rubs me the wrong way.”

“I don’t think your boyfriend likes me too much.”

  “You think?”
