Something Just Ain't Right Part 2 Page 6

“And who is this beautiful woman?” Will asked staring at Tamara.

  “Back away Will,” Lamar said.

“I don’t think I was talking to you, Lamar. Besides, why are you even here?”

“In case you have forgotten, Hayley is my sister.”

He looked at the two and smiled. “Oh, I didn’t really catch the resemblance, but you’re right. Anyway, I was talking to the pretty lady in front of me. So what’s your name, baby?”

Lamar jumped up from his seat as I held him back. We really didn’t need this so early in the morning.

“Damn, I didn’t think you would get that upset.”

“Don’t even look at her, you fucking asshole!”

“Okay, let’s go, Lamar,” Tamara said as she took him from me and the two went out on the patio.

Hayley rolled her eyes at Will and followed the two to the door.

  “What was that?” I asked.

“What was what? I didn’t know she was with him.”

“I think it was obvious. Besides, you should have seen the two when you stumbled in here last night.”

“Whatever. Anyway, how long are they staying?”

“I don’t know, probably until Hayley’s birthday which is in two weeks. Why you want to know?”

“Just wondering. I thought maybe you’d be going back with them.”

“I don’t know yet. I could go back to school, but I’m not too sure.”

“Why not? Isn’t this your final semester?”

I glanced at Will realizing he was asking a lot of questions.

“It is, but I’m undecided if I want to.”

“Well, I’m sure Hayley will go back to Thompson, right? I’m pretty sure she doesn’t want to miss her junior year.”

I gave him a curious look. “I never mentioned Hayley went to Thompson or what year she was in.”

Will had an “oh shit” expression on his face as he cleared his throat. “I thought you did.”

“No, I didn’t. In fact, you didn’t even know Hayley was Lamar’s sister until now, even though you should have from the small encounter awhile back.”

“You know how long it’s been since I last saw Lamar? That was years ago, so I’m sure Hayley was a child then.”

I slowly nodded and took a sip of orange juice. “It’s cool. Sometimes I forget stuff too, so I wouldn’t worry about it.”

“Okay, well I’m not sure what Mom and Dad are doing, but I’m going back to sleep. I’ll catch you all later.”

I nodded as Will went back upstairs. I looked out the door and saw Hayley, Lamar, and Tamara sitting outside. Maybe the two were right about Will. I really think I need to watch what I say around him.

  Will

After slipping up to Morgan about Hayley, I knew I had to get out of there. I ran upstairs, got dressed and left the house to meet with Travis, my biological dad, who was also Craig’s brother.

Travis and I had a weird relationship. When I was born, I was immediately taken away from my biological mom and was adopted by Caroline and Rick. From my understanding, my mom was pretty much a drug addict who couldn’t stay off the pipe long enough to care for her child. She immediately relinquished her rights away when I was given to the Carters. I think she wanted to get rid of me, which was fine by me since she couldn’t do anything for me anyway.

I had to admit, I had a pretty good life with my adopted parents. I never went without, which was great, but I wanted to know some part of my actual heritage, so I began digging. Much to my surprise, my biological father was well-known in the architecture industry. His name is Travis McFarlane. Him and his brother Craig ran a successful contracting business and were very well-off. It kind of made me wonder why my mom never held onto him. Now, I knew why.

Travis had another family. He messed around with my mom and had me. That was also why he never knew about me until I showed up on his doorstep three years ago.

At first, he didn’t want to have anything to do with me, but when he found out who my parents were, he was very interested. Mainly because of his brother and Morgan. He knew that his brother married Morgan’s mom, and the two had a love/hate relationship. He also knew Morgan had something to do with Craig’s disappearance. We’re not sure if Morgan actually killed Craig, but he knew he had done something because he disliked him.

Now, it was my duty to find out for sure if Morgan killed Craig so Travis would have the proof he needed to turn Morgan over. With Hayley, we knew she was the perfect target because Morgan loves her. We could have used his mom, but that was too simple. Besides, since Lamar was also part of the plan with Craig, it would be great to take away something that they both cherished. The only problem with my plan with her is she hated my guts. I had to find a way for her to open up to me. If not, then I’ll have to do something else to get her to expose any type of dirt about Morgan.

There was one person that might be able to help me with that. I just hope she would be up to my plan.

I rang the doorbell, hoping Travis was at home. It opened, and Shantel stood by the door. She was wearing a black lace teddy which accentuated her tits and hips. She glanced at me and smiled.

  “Nice seeing you, Will.”

“Likewise. You’re looking awfully sexy, Shantel.”

  “Don’t I always?” She asked.

“That, you do. Is Travis here?”

“He went to the store. Do you want to come in and wait for him?”

My eyes scanned her body as I walked inside the house. She closed the door and leaned up against it. I grabbed her waist and stared at her as I kissed her. She wrapped her arms around me as my hand went to her ass.

“How much time do we have until he gets back?”

“A few minutes, but I don’t care if he catches us.”

I smiled and took her to the couch.

Yes, Shantel has not only been helping out with Hayley, but also with me, in the sexual sense. The two of us has been fucking for a while now, even though she’s also with my dad. As long as it didn’t bother her, it didn’t bother me either.

Her legs were around me as she began kissing my neck. Damn, she felt so good. I flipped her on her knees. I gave her ass a smack as I started going in her. She grabbed onto the end of the couch as I smacked her again. I knew she loved that, and I did it again.

“Fuck!” Shantel yelled as I grabbed her hips.

I knew she was about to come when she spread her legs wider. She started to scream when the door opened.

  “What the fuck is this?!”

I continued to go in her, not caring if my dad walked in. I had her first, so he could take his turn later.

“I said what the fuck is this?!” Travis yelled as he came over to me. He pushed Shantel onto the floor and pulled me up.

“Did I say you could sleep with her?” He asked while staring at me.

  “This isn’t your concern, Travis.”

“She’s my girlfriend, so I think it is.”

“Travis, baby, we were just messing around. You never had a problem with me being with other men before.”

“This is my damn son, so, of course, I care!”

Shantel got up and straighten her teddy. I pulled up my jeans and sighed.

“Listen, we were waiting around for you and got bored. What else you want me to say?”

“Once I’m done with you, you can get the fuck out of my house,” Travis said as he walked into the kitchen.

I glanced at Shantel, who gave me a worried expression.

“You better have what I asked for. Did you get anything on Morgan or his girlfriend?”

I sighed. “Not really. Hayley is not telling me much since she doesn’t really like me.”

“Geez, I wonder the hell why.”

I looked down at the ground and decided I probably shouldn’t tell him that I slipped up to Morgan.

“What about Morgan? He trusts you, so he probably said something.”

“Actually, I kind of let things slip about kno
wing that Hayley goes to Thompson.”

Travis closed his eyes and shook his head. “You did what?”

“It just came out. I didn’t realize what I said until I said it.”

“You dumb fuck! I asked you to do this one simple thing, and you couldn’t even do that. How am I going to expose Morgan if you can’t do something as easy as get information from him?”

“The two do not trust anyone because of everything they have had to go through, so it’s not going to be easy to do.”

  “Not really.”

I turned around and glanced at Shantel, who smiled.

“At first, Hayley didn’t trust me, but I was able to soften her up a bit. Now that she’s working with me, and she don’t have anyone to talk to, I’m sure she’ll start spilling stuff soon.”

“That’s where you’re wrong. Her brother and his girlfriend are here, so she’ll confined in her more.”

“Lamar is here? When?” Shantel asked in surprise.

I gave her a curious glance, wondering what that meant. She probably slept with him too.

“They came to town yesterday. Him, Hayley, and Morgan are on speaking terms again which I think will work to our advantage.”

“It most definitely will and good idea Shantel. Do what you can to get any info out of her. At least someone is thinking.”

I rolled my eyes and sighed.

“Just for that, I’m going to forget about what happened here earlier, but I do want one thing in return,” he said as he walked over to her.

She glanced from him to me. “What is that?”

“You’ll find out. Come with me,” he said as he took her hand. He was walking to the bedroom. He turned to look at me, and I had a confused look on my face.

“I’m sure Shantel would want you to be in the room too.”

I gave him another confused look, wondering what the hell that meant.

  “I don’t think so.”

“You were just fucking her a while ago, so this shouldn’t be an issue.”

Shantel stared at my chest and gave a huge smile. “Come on. I’ll make it worth your while.”

She held her hand out, and I took it. I had done some crazy stuff, but this was definitely the wildest. Hopefully, this doesn’t come back on me.

  Morgan

Since Hayley was off, we all decided to go out later that night. Of course, we went to the one place I didn’t want to go, The Palace. We only went because Lamar wanted to see where his sister worked. As soon as he walked in, he was displeased.

  “Really, Hales?”

  “This is a classy establishment.”

“The establishment is, but not the owner,” I added.

Hayley hit my shoulder as we went over to the bar.

“Hey, Hayley. What are you doing here on your night off?” Shantel asked while grabbing a glass. She gave me a sweet smile while filling the glass up with vodka.

“My bro wanted to see the place where I worked at, so that’s why we’re here. You might know Lamar. Lamar, this is Shantel.”

“Hey Shantel,” Lamar said softly. He quickly looked down while rubbing the back of his head.

“Hey Lamar. Long time no see.”

I glanced from Lamar to Shantel, knowing what that meant.

Tamara raised her eyebrow while Hayley stared.

“How do you two know each other, Lamar?” Tamara asked.

“We just know each other from way back. Just like Morgan and me,” Shantel said with a giggle.

“Thanks so much Shantel,” I said and shook my head.

“We’ll talk later,” Lamar whispered to me as he straightened his stance. He quickly looked at Tamara, who did not look pleased.

I shook my head again. I didn’t have a problem with sharing things with Lamar, but women weren’t one of them. That was another pact we made, not to sleep with the same woman. I guess that pact was gone too.

Hayley touched my shoulder, and I looked at her.

“I know you’re not mad at him. That was years ago.”

“I know, but he could have told me.”

Shantel gave a sincere expression before speaking. “What can I get everyone?”

  “Vodka, straight,” Lamar said.

  “Beer for me,” I added.

I looked over towards the end of the bar and saw Kyle walking over to us. Like I wanted to be around this asshole.

“Hey, I didn’t think I would see you here tonight,” he said to Hayley.

She smiled as she grabbed my hand. He smirked at the scene.

“Kyle, this is my brother, Lamar and his girlfriend, Tamara. Lamar, Tamara, this is my boss, Kyle.”

  “What’s up?” Lamar said.

“So, you’re Hales’ brother. I’m sure you two have a great relationship.”

  Lamar nodded. “Yeah, we do.”

I stared at Kyle. I really don’t like him.

He looked at me and smirked again.

“What’s with all the smirking? If you got something to say, just say it.”

“I don’t have anything to say, just like you don’t have anything to say to me. Let’s keep it moving.”

“Yeah, you do that,” I said.

Kyle laughed. “I do want to know what your problem is with me. I haven’t done anything to you.”

  “As if you didn’t know.”

“Baby, let it go,” Hayley said as she held onto my arm.

“No, I’m tired of this asshole. He always has a smug look every time he sees me, so if he feels some type of way then we can do something about it.”

“I don’t need to do anything with you. Keep going at me like that, and I’ll have you thrown out.”

“Oh really. Well, let’s see you try,” I said as I went to the end of the bar.

Hayley was trying to stop me, but that wasn’t happening. I was tired of him and his fucking mouth. First he tried to talk to my girl and then he’s coming at me like I’m some punk-ass bitch. He’ll see how soft I am once I knocked his ass out.

  “Lamar, do something!” Hayley yelled.

“So I can get knocked out again, hell no,” he said.

Hayley shook her head as she pulled me back to her.

  “Baby, let it go.”

A crowd was starting to form as I went over to Kyle. He started laughing as he stared at me.

“You must really want your ass beat right now, don’t you?”

My hands were in fists about ready to do what I needed to do.

“Mo, just walk away. This is Hayley’s boss.”

“Don’t worry, Hales will still have her job. I just have a problem with her boyfriend.”

“Call her Hales one more time and your face will be going through that fucking counter.”

  “Morgan, stop!” Hayley yelled.

“I don’t care if you are Hayley’s boss. You have disrespected me and her with the way you act around her. You better be glad I didn’t kill you the other night.”

  “Mo, chill, man,” Lamar said.

“Let the little boy talk since he thinks he’s actually doing something. I’ll have you thrown across the other end of the club so fast you wouldn’t know what fucking hit you.”

“Not before I bash your head in.”

“That’s enough! Kyle, go in the back! Morgan, you need to leave,” Shantel said.

Before I could say anything else, Kyle grabbed me by my shirt and threw me across the counter. I pushed myself from his hold and decked him, causing him to hit a row of liquor bottles that were behind him. I grabbed him by the shirt and flung him against the bar, holding his throat while staring into his eyes.

“I will seriously fuck you up, so don’t mess with me.”

Kyle had stared at me before he hit me across my jaw.

He wanted to play then let’s play.

We both went out into the crowd throwing punches at each other. I grabbed him and slammed him down on the ground. That moment that I was dreading was quickly coming as I went in snap mode on him. Usually
, I would feel a little guilty when I got this far, but with this muthafucker, I didn’t give a shit.

“Morgan, stop!” Hayley yelled. She tried to pull me from him, but Lamar came over and got me away from him. Surprisingly, this dude wasn’t backing down. He came after me and double jabbed me. I fell to the ground as he went straight beast mode on me. I guess I was the one who was getting fucked up because before I knew it, everything was fading to black.

  Hayley

I stared as Lamar pulled Morgan up from the ground. I couldn’t believe this was happening. At first, we were at the bar ordering drinks, and the next Morgan and Kyle were killing each other. I sighed as Morgan tried to go after Kyle again, but security finally came over and ushered him out of the club.

I knew I needed to see how he was doing, but I needed to confront Kyle. I stared at Lamar, and he nodded. Tamara and him followed Morgan.

I went to the back where Kyle was. Shantel was also there tending to a cut above his eye. She glanced at me and shook her head.

“Neither you nor your brother could tame Morgan?”

“I need to speak to Kyle, alone,” I said while staring at him.

  “I’m not leaving.”

“I suggest you do. Now,” I calmly stated.

She rolled her eyes and went to the door. As soon as she closed it, I went off.

“What the hell was that? Why were you trying to provoke Morgan?”

“I wasn’t doing anything. He was the one coming at me, so I had to defend myself.”

“But you could have stopped it. What were you trying to prove?”

“I wasn’t trying to prove anything, but I guess I did prove how much of a punk he is.”

“You and him are so much alike that you two don’t even notice it.”

  “I’m nothing like him.”

“So what was that earlier? The both of you were trying to size each other up which only ended in disaster.”

“Well, I had the final say after I decked his ass,” Kyle said and laughed.

  “You looked like an idiot.”

“And your man didn’t? He started this shit, so I finished it.”

I laughed. “Maybe Morgan was right about you. I think working here would only make things more complicated, so I think last night was my first and last night working here.”
