I turned toward Lennard although he was still focused on his plate. “How about you write about the time my father nearly killed me for being gay, and how my boyfriend saved me with a gay biker gang?”
Len’s eyes snapped up even while he paled. “What?” he glanced at Kash, but his set jaw seemed to say it all. “Holy shit, I’m so f… effing sorry. Are you okay?”
I nodded, relief spreading inside of me. “I am, yes.” I had scars that told my story, but I’d come out stronger in the end. “I also lost my best friend over being gay. However, I gained a lot more than I lost after coming out.”
Lennard licked his lips for a moment, then cleared his throat. “So… Coming out is like… hard?”
And with that a nice talk arose, one that made my heart jump with happiness, because although I didn’t know Sybelle and Lennard, I had the feeling we’d become quite close.
Reading me, as always, Kash squeezed my hand and I met his eyes.
I have real family still, I formed with my lips and he nodded, his smile showing all the happiness I felt too.

There are a few people I want to thank, but I promise to keep it short. ;-)
First up, Blu, for basically introducing me to the MM-world that now has become such a big part of my life. You know you are my backbone, my step forward, my voice of reason when I don’t have one left. Thank you.
To Alyssa Semenoff, who took a chance on me and now is stuck with me. You are kind and generous, and the sweetest thing. Love ya!
My PA Lina, who has done the horrific job of reading over this book time and again just to help me catch as many mistakes as possible.
To Jane from Tiny Tiger Edits for making this as easy as possible. Thank you for your hard work to help me become better.
And lastly, thank YOU for being here, for reading this.
(Also, Eden Finley… Thank you for answering questions even when you didn’t know I needed them for my project.)
Hugs,
KC
Kamisa Cole is a German native who discovered her love for MM through her soulmate and has obsessed over the genre so much, she eventually decided to plan her own book.
Besides writing she loves fall and winter, cuddling up with hot chocolate or pumpkin spice late, and anything that smells like vanilla or cinnamon. For the most part she dreams of writing when doing her day job in an office.
She imagines she has control of her characters, but for the most part they rule the kingdom of stolen glances and denied feelings while she’s just along for the right.
