Laughing through her tears, she whispered, “Yes… Yes, Carter! I’ll marry you.”
He stood and lifted her into a hug and spun her around. “You have made me the happiest man alive.” He kissed her nose and then pressed his lips to hers. “Do you want to see the real ring now?”
Maisy laughed and nodded as they sat on the bench together. He pulled out the blue velvet box and pulled the ring out. He held her hand and slipped the diamond ring onto her finger. It wasn’t huge and she didn’t want it to be. It was a beautiful half-carat, princess-cut diamond ring.
“You went to Jared’s.” She giggled.
“No, silly girl. I went to Kay’s.”

Carter had pulled her into a deep kiss, holding her tight. “I love you, Maisy.”
