  Yesterday, she went to the shop downtown and let my girl, Keshia, hook her ass up. She probably thought I wouldn't notice it, but I do. She got her real hair cut and it fits her. But I notice everything about her ass.

  "This all I have, everything else shows too much or is long sleeve. What about the heels" she asked.

  "I mean that's showing a lot, too," I said looking at her titties and then down to her camel toe.

  "Stop looking at me like that, Lo," she said, making me laugh.

  "Well, you need to change, man. I got cousins and a brother. They will really be attacking you with their eyes. I come from a family of freaks" I said to her laughing.

  "Here, put this on," I said, handing her one of my jean jackets.

  "It's hot as hell outside, Lo," she said. I shrugged. I'm trying to help her be comfortable because I know my cousins really would try to get at her knowing that she’s with me.

  "Like I said, my people are freaks, they will chew you up and spit you out," I said making her frown and I could see the nervousness all on her face.

  "They can't be freakier than you," she said laughing.

  "Hell no, they’re not. I ain't met my match yet" I said to her licking my lips. I just know she got some good pussy. I bet she can put it down on me good and plus, I know ain't nobody been hitting that ass lately. I'll give it to her ass good.

  "You look good, though," I said to her. She went and grabbed her lotion. She lotioned her body down. I know she can't help that she got ass and titties, but damn, I want to cover her whole body.

  "I'm about to go put my clothes on. I'll be back. It's a 4-hour drive almost. So be ready when I come back. And we might stay the night out there, cause my mama having some tomorrow, too" I said to her as I walked down the hall. She sighed.

  I walked to my room and slid on my button-down white shirt with khaki shorts. I put in my diamond earrings and put on my gold chain.

  2:45 pm

  We walked out of the house and hopped in my Challenger. I cranked the car and we sped off down the interstate. Nia was already snacking down.

  "Give me some," I said to her as I switched lanes.

  "You don't even know what I'm eating" she complained.

  "You always want everything I got," she complained.

  "Damn, girl, tell me how you really feel then," I said to her, making her laugh.

  Nia's POV

  "I'm serious, give me some" Lorenzo asked again as I handed him some.

  "Put it in my mouth," he said as I rolled my eyes at him.

  "Come on, hurry up," he said, rushing me. I slapped him in his chest.

  "I'm driving now, chill," he said as he opened his mouth. I put the M&Ms in his mouth and he smiled.

  "EW, these got nuts in it" he yelled as he spit it out in my cup.

  "LORENZO" I yelled laughing.

  "What? I'm sorry. Here, you can have my lemonade" he said as he reached in his bag and handed it to me.

  "You drank out of this already," I asked. He laughed.

  "Nah, but if I did, I'm clean," he said. I scrunched up my face. I doubt that.

  "Ain't no telling. You have been fucking that whore and it’s no telling what she has" I said rolling my eyes. No lie, I'm salty as hell, just a little bit. But I already knew this would happen. I'm not mad at him or anything for having a girl, but I just didn't expect it to happen so soon, and bother me so. He laughed.

  "I don't like how you keep referencing the shit. You really jealous, huh" he asked, smiling. I rolled my eyes. He shook his head.

  "Man, girl, you something else. But if you must know, I ain't putting my mouth on her like that. Only my wife would get that treatment" he said, smirking as he switched lanes.

  I could feel him cutting his eyes at me. I looked back at him and he did look good as hell today. I don't know why he’s trying to match me and shit. He looks good, though, in white. I got comfortable in my seat and closed my eyes.

  7:00pm

  "Nia, wake up" I heard Lorenzo say. I opened my eyes and we were at his parents' house, I'm guessing. I looked at him and he was smoking a blunt.

  "Can I please hit it? I'm nervous" I said to him. He laughed and shook his head. I don't know why he is tripping. Yea, I had an addiction, but that was when I was younger. I wouldn't go back down that path today.

  "No, Nia. You’re good. Just breathe" he said. I reached across him and grabbed the blunt.

  "Damn, if you reach across me like that again, I will put some on that ass," he said biting his lips as I took a few hits. I gave it back to him and we got out and headed towards the front door.

  "You good," he asked. I nodded.

  "Yeah, I feel that shit, though" I said laughing. I only took like 4 or 5 puffs.

  “That’s that good gas” he said chuckling.

  "How I look," I asked him as I tried to fix my hair. I love my new haircut, it's just I have to get used to it.

  "You look beautiful," he said looking down at me.

  I can never stare at him long. His eyes are like fire or something. They drive me crazy. It feels like he is hypnotizing me or reading my soul.

  "I love your hair, it fits you," he said as he pulled a piece of it to the right side.

  I smiled at him. He knocked on the door and some lady answered. I'm guessing that's his mom because they favor each other.

  "Hey baby, you made it," his mom said, hugging him. She let him go and turned her attention to me.

  "Oooh, who's this," she asked him, looking at me from my head to my toes. I could feel her spirit and I felt the negative energy from her.

  "Mama, this is my friend, Nia. Nia, this is my mom, Jackie" he said.

  "Nice to meet you, Ms. Jackie," I said to her, extending my hand to shake hers. She shook it and stared at Lorenzo reluctantly.

  "Come on in y'all," she said to us as I walked in.

  I walked in and looked around. Their house was beautiful. I followed right behind Lorenzo into the kitchen.

  "Wassup, Lo" I heard a few guys say to him. He nodded his head and I could feel all eyes on me.

  "Wassup, bruh," some guy said walking up. He looked a lot like Lorenzo, so I'm guessing that's his brother. They did their little handshake thing and the guy stared at me from my head to my toes, then smirked at Lorenzo.

  "Who's this, bruh," he asked.

  "Maurice, this is my girl, Nia. Nia, this my brother, Maurice" Lorenzo said introducing us. Maurice smiled at me and extended his hand out.

  "I'm the sexy one. Nice to meet you, boo" he said as I shook his hand back. He kind of sounded a little fruity, but I couldn't tell. He was masculine and fit just like Lorenzo.

  "Hey, brother" I heard a female call out from behind me.

  I turned around and saw Lauryn, I'm guessing. I remember Lorenzo saying a few things about them both. She hugged Lorenzo and then turned her attention to me.

  "Ooh, I've heard a lot about you. My name is Lauryn and you must be Nia" she said smiling widely as she hugged me. I smiled back and looked at Lorenzo. His sister is very friendly.

  "I'll be back, Lauryn will take care of you," Lorenzo said as he took off out the back door with his brother.

  "Come," Lauryn said smiling as I followed her through the house. I could feel everyone staring at me.

  "You want something to drink," she asked as I nodded. She led me to the kitchen and grabbed us both a cup.

  "What do you want? Brown or clear" she asked as I looked at the different selections.

  "I'll take the Hennessy Black," I said as she poured our drinks. I followed her outside onto the patio and we both sat down and just listened to the music.

  Chapter 12: Meeting The Family (Part 2)

  Nia's POV

  July 4th

  7:30 pm

  Right now, I'm just playing cards with Lauryn, Violet, and a few of Lorenzo's cousins. Everyone else is outside on the patio. CJ and Violet got here probably like an hour after we did. Lorenzo
's family is actually pretty cool to me. But his mom has been giving me death stares all night and I haven't even met his dad yet.

  "Yo, you cheating ma," Lucky said to me.

  "Shutup Lucky, you just can't play," Lauryn said to him, making me laugh. He was cute as hell, but I'm still confused as to who he is to Lorenzo. I've heard him say that he grew up around Lorenzo and everyone has been eating him up since he got here.

  "I can play. They don't call me Lucky for nothing. It's just I'm being distracted" he said, smirking while making eye contact with me.

  "I'm sorry. I'm not trying to distract you" I said as I threw a card out.

  "Don't apologize, ma, I'm loving the view" he said as I quickly swallowed the rest of the Hennessy I had. I've been drinking since I got here and I am tipsy. I'm also hot as hell and this jacket Lorenzo got me in is about to come off.

  Lauryn started clearing her throat as Violet threw her last card out. Violet grouped the cards altogether.

  "I'm about to go get some to drink," Lauryn said as she and Violet stood.

  "And I'm going to the restroom," I said as I stood up too.

  "You got it," Lucky asked as I nodded.

  "Yeah, I'm fine," I said as I walked down the long hallway. I looked at the pictures on the walls as I staggered into the bathroom.

  I walked back into the dining room and everyone was waiting for me. I sat down and Lorenzo's mama, Jackie, sat next to Lucky.

  "How have you been doing, son," she asked Lucky.

  "I've been good, auntie. Just trying to keep the business going" he said smiling while looking at me. He was cute and I could see the resemblance between him and Lorenzo. But whatever his mind is set on, it'll never happen.

  "You good" Lorenzo asked out of breath while coming up to me. CJ was right behind him. He was sweaty and carrying a basketball. He's been active the whole time we've been here. I haven't seen him since he ditched me earlier.

  "Yeah, I'm good," I said smiling.

  "I'm finna take a shower first, then I'll be back," he said as he kissed my cheek and headed up the stairs. I could feel Lucky staring at us.

  "How did y'all meet," Lucky asked.

  "I met him at his hotel. I was in town for the weekend and we just crossed paths" I said as he nodded.

  "Hmm," Lorenzo's mama said.

  "Are y'all together?" Lucky asked.

  "Lucky, get out her business," Lauryn said to him. I looked at Lauryn and then at Violet. I could feel Lorenzo's mama staring at me.

  "No, we're not. We're just friends" I said honestly.

  "But I'm sure y'all have feelings for each other then," Lucky asked.

  "I care about him and love him as a friend," I said.

  "Enough of this nonsense, ATTENTION, I have a surprise" Lorenzo's mother announced as she stood up. Did she just disrespect me? I felt myself getting angry. I normally don't let stuff get to me, but she has been throwing shade at me all night. And then she just basically said the stuff I was saying was unimportant.

  "Excuse you," I asked her. She turned her head away from me and ignored me as the doorbell rang.

  "Mama, that was rude," Lauryn said as Lucky looked at her crazily.

  "Yo, auntie? Why are you acting like that? She's cool," Lucky said, defending me as he stood up. He was high as hell. I don't know why he wasn't outside playing ball with Lorenzo and all the other guys.

  "I wonder who that could be," Jackie said smiling as she walked towards the door. We all heard Jackie screaming and in walked a tall, dark-skinned woman. She was beautiful and I could tell that Lauryn wasn't happy to see her, neither was Violet. Lucky stood there with his mouth wide open. He kept looking at me and then back at her.

  "Oh God," Violet said.

  "What's wrong? Who's that" I asked.

  "That's Lorenzo's ex, Amber, and of course mama would invite her here tonight," Lauryn said as I stared at Amber head to toe. She was beautiful but she had nothing on me. I watched as Lorenzo's mom walked around and introduced Amber to everyone. She didn't even try with me. I rolled my eyes and then I saw Lorenzo walk down the stairs with CJ.

  They both walked over to us and sat down.

  "Why y'all looking like that? What's wrong? What's up, Lucky" Renzo asked as they did their handshake.

  "Just chilling, bruh. I was looking for you" he said to Lorenzo. He's lying because he has not even asked about Lorenzo, not once since I've been sitting here. He's been too busy smiling in my damn face.

  "Mama..look" Lauryn said as she pointed towards Amber. I watched Lorenzo as I saw nothing but anger and hurt flash across his face. You could see his smile turn into a frown as he laid eyes on her.

  "Calm down, Renzo," CJ said as his mama walked up. She was just smiling as if shit was all peachy and shit. She's acting like Amber didn't do shit wrong to Lorenzo and from how everyone's acting, they see it, too.

  "Amber, you know everyone here. Oh, and this is Lorenzo's new friend... um," Lorenzo's mama started to say as she stared at me. I know this old ass bitch didn't forget my name.

  "Her name is Nia," Lorenzo said quickly to them before I could say anything.

  "Nice to meet you, Nia. And nice seeing you, Lorenzo" Amber said as Lorenzo avoided eye contact with her.

  "Can we talk alone?" Amber asked him which made the jealousy rise inside of me. Lorenzo looked at me.

  "Nah, I'm good," he said as Jackie gave him a disappointed look. She took Amber around to meet more people. Lorenzo turned his attention to me. He sat down next to me at the table.

  "I'm sorry" he whispered. I threw my hands up.

  "We’re good, no need to apologize. I see things clearly" I said lowly.

  "What's that supposed to mean?" he whispered, staring at me intensely.

  "Nothing, Lorenzo," I said rolling my eyes. I am honestly ready to go. Ain't no way in hell I stay in this woman's house tonight. I might snap on her ass.

  "Nia, I-I" he started to say as I cut him off.

  "I'm fine. Go talk to your mother and the woman she prefers you to be with" I said putting on a fake smile. Lorenzo sighed.

  "Girl, I'm sorry about that. My mom can sometimes be a little rude and straightforward" Lauryn said.

  "What? A little?" Lucky said laughing.

  "On everything, she’s a lot to deal with," CJ said laughing.

  "Who asked y'all," Lorenzo asked, making us laugh.

  "Keep yo head up, Nia. We all know he belongs to you" CJ said smirking as I glared at him.

  "Damn, really," Lucky asked. I cut my eyes at him. I looked at Lorenzo and he was glaring at Lucky.

  "No not re-" I started to say as Lorenzo cut me off.

  "Yeah, man. She mine, what you getting at" Lorenzo asked angrily.

  "I mean both of y’all saying y'all just friends and you walk up in here with a female that's fine as hell and single, why not try to get with her," Lucky asked, licking his lips at me. Everyone stared shockingly at us. I looked at Lorenzo to see his reaction and he stared at Lucky blankly.

  "Don't fucki-" Lorenzo started to say as I cut him off.

  "Just calm down. It's fine, Lorenzo. And yea Lucky, he and I are just friends. So Lorenzo shouldn't be mad about anything and Lucky, I'm sorry but no, I'm not interested" I said honestly. Lorenzo snickered and Lucky just nodded his head.

  "Period," Lauryn said.

  "Shut the fuck up, Lauryn," CJ said to her.

  "Don't talk to her like that," Violet said to CJ, making me laugh. Lorenzo turned his head to me.

  "And I don't know why you're mad, you have a girlfriend and she was there at the house this morning," I said as I rolled my eyes.

  "Okay and? She not here is it tho" he asked angrily.

  "That's not the point, Lorenzo. You have a girlfriend and I am your friend. So let it go" I said to him.

  "Y'all just need to save this for later," CJ said.

  "Friend my ass. That doesn't give my cousin the right to flirt with you" he semi-yelled. His nostrils flared and his veins started popping out
his neck as he looked at Lucky.

  "You really hard down mad huh," I asked.
