His Pretend Omega: M/M Non-Shifter Alpha/Omega MPREG (Cafe Om Book 2)

Chris
I was a dad.
Wrapping my head around that, even as I held my beautiful daughter, was going to take some time.
I was a dad.
“Hey, handsome. Do you want to rest for a bit? I can hold her.” Aiden held his arms out greedily. It was sickeningly sweet and all kinds of adorable. There was no way anyone seeing him would ever guess he wasn’t the biological father of our sweet daughter. He was her father every way that counted.
“You mean give me back my daughter, you’ve hogged her long enough,” I sassed back. He had been incorrigible since she was born. I knew he’d simmer down once we got home to the safe place he provided and not in a hospital with far too many people looking at her, touching her, writing about her in files.
“You didn’t hog her.” He was trying to be rational and I had to give him credit. “You fed her and now it’s my turn to have her.”
“I think I need to call your dads and beg them to let you go back to work.” Not in a million years. If anything, I was going to call and beg for them to pressure Aiden into taking more time off so we could get mated right after my all clear appointment and take our honeymoon before he got back into the rat race.
“There’s not a chance on this green earth I would go back to work now. None.” I had a feeling his parents knew that when they placed the condition on him, giving him an easy way to accept what he wanted. Aiden was not one to shirk responsibilities and his need to work paired with his need to be with us would’ve caused undue emotional strain. They were smart men and amazing parents.
“Good to hear it son.” Aiden’s father walked in, his arm wrapped around his mate and his smile beaming as he caught sight of his new grandbaby.
“Father. Dad. Look.” Aiden pointed to Rosemary as if they weren’t already staring at her face with wonder.
“My goodness, have you ever seen a more beautiful baby?” His dad beamed.
“He says that about all babies,” Aiden countered, knowing very well that his dad was right.
“And in this case, your dad is on point.”
“I may be biased, but I agree wholeheartedly.” Aiden took a seat at the foot of the bed.
“Gimme.” Dad held out his hands complete with grabby hands and I held her out to him.
“Wait, just like that you pass her over, yet you give me guff?”
That pretty much summed it up and I held in a giggle.
“Guff well deserved, I imagine,” his father added as he tickled Rosemary’s toes.
“Thanks for the support, Father.”
“Anytime.” He never once looked away from our sweet baby girl. So much love.
“The nurse said you did beautifully, son.” Dad spoke to me. At first being called son had me feeling awkward and uncomfortable. Now? Now, I loved it.
“She lied. I cussed like a sailor and begged for drugs.” And screamed like a baby and possibly swore off sex. In hindsight, I may have over reacted, but at the time I was sure I was about to be ripped into two.
“He was amazing.” Aiden’s hand settled on my shin. “Can you believe he grew a human?”
“That’s generally how it works.” Not that it seemed any less miraculous to me at the moment. Me. I grew a human. A perfect, gorgeous human.
“Speaking of how it works…” Dad looked up for the first time since getting his hands on the baby. “We have a dual purpose for being here.”
“Should I roll my eyes now or later?” Aiden and his eye rolling with his parents. It was hilarious now, but my guess was as a teen they were ready to throw him out the window.
We’d actually taken bets on when they were going to bring up what Aiden and I both knew was coming next. I had guessed the day we came home from the hospital and Aiden guessed as soon as Rosemary took her first breath. Damn. He won. Oh wait, the winner got a blow job. Nope, I was still a winner. Nothing better than my mate’s cock in my mouth. Not that I should be thinking about that now, with his parents in the room.
“Both, I imagine.” It was then that I noticed for the first time how very like his father Aiden was. I tucked that away for later razzing. “Let your dad continue.”
We both nodded in concession knowing that event planning was in our near future.
“Your father and I would like to start planning your mating.”
Of course they would. Aiden and I just looked at each other and gave a knowing nod. No sense fighting them on this. It made him happy and at the end of the day as long as we were mated what did it matter if we loved the color scheme, the food, or whatever else he had in his mind.

Aiden
Even though Chris and I had insisted on a small, intimate ceremony, my hands still shook as I tightened my bow tie. We had invited his parents, but they had declined their invitation. The same as they had declined our invitation to come and meet Rosemary. I had been shocked, but Chris had seemed unsurprised and resigned and it broke my heart. Their loss. We’d reached out, and I wasn’t going to let them hurt Chris anymore, not even the slightest disappointment. If they wanted to be a part of our lives, of Rosemary’s life, they’d have to reach out next time.
So instead, it was my parents and Ethan on my side, Abrar and Marcus on Chris’s side. And Rosemary in the middle. Even with the small ceremony, my dad has insisted on decorations and caterers and a photographer and live music—he was in his element. I had thought after all the work he’d put into Rosemary’s nursery—both her nurseries, he would have been ready for a break. I had been wrong. He'd done an amazing job in the short time frame we'd given him.
There was a knock on the door, and my nerves vanished. Now that it was go-time, I had no worries. The anticipation was the worst part. But now I was going to claim the man who gave my life meaning. The worst part, now that the day was here, would be waiting for the appropriate time to slip away for our mating night. Neither of us could imagine leaving Rosemary for the week we wanted to take for our honeymoon, but my dads had convinced us that one night wouldn't kill any of us. I straightened my bow tie and placed my hand on the door knob, ready to go claim my future.
It took us three hours after the short and simple ceremony wrapped up to escape. Every time I'd started to make a move toward the door, someone would pull me or Chris in for a toast or a dance or a conversation. I finally caught the mischievous look in my dad's eye and realized they were doing it on purpose, so I'd grabbed Chris out of a conversation, yelled, "Goodnight, everyone, thank you, see you tomorrow." And made a break for it. We'd had the ceremony at my parents' house, and neither of us had any desire to drive all the way in to the city, but thankfully there was an abundance of summer "cottages" out here, and my dads had convinced one of their neighbors to lend it to us for the night.
I had a driver waiting outside and I slid in first, pulling Chris on top of my lap as he closed the door behind him.
"I've been waiting all day for this," I growled, my hands already at his groin, groping him through the smooth cloth of his suit pants. He bucked up into my grip and reached backward to tug at my hair.
"I've been waiting for months," he said.
"Do you really want to start a game of one up with me?"
"Are there prizes?" Chris asked, grinding his ass over my aching cock.
"You already are my prize," I whispered, nibbling on his ear. "Are you sure you're okay for everything?"
"For the last time," Chris sighed, "My doctor cleared me for... extracurricular activities." He slid off my lap to turn around and straddle me, taking my face into his hands. "You worry too much."
His lips met mine, and I could taste the faint tang of the white wine he'd been drinking. His tongue darted in to stroke my own and I grasped his ass to pull him closer. The car slowed to a stop, preventing us from going much further and I was grateful. As much as I wanted my hands on Chris, I didn't want to consummate our mating in the back of a car.
The cottage was lit up, candles lining the walkway from the driveway to the front do
or and Chris and I spilled from the car, giddy with excitement. The driver left as soon as the door closed behind us. Everything we needed was already inside.
I kept my touches chaste as we walked into the house, a path of rose petals leading the way to the bedroom. I didn't want to think about whoever had set up all these little details because I was afraid it would be my dad, and I really didn't need to think of my parents in this moment. Or of them getting things ready for me to mate and claim my love.
I pushed those thoughts from my mind and focused on Chris. Now that the moment was here, the serenity that had descended on me before the ceremony returned. I drew Chris's arms to my shoulders and his fingers buried in the hair at the nape of my neck. I rested my hands on his hips and took the time to enjoy the sensation of kissing him. We'd both shaven for the ceremony, and my stubble was already scraping at his skin, but he was still smooth. Our kisses grew stronger, deeper, a soft war of dominance. I tugged his hips hard against me and thrust at the same time, the need to press my bare skin against his growing.
My fingers went to his pants and began unbuttoning. His fingers dropped from my hair and did the same. The tuxes gave us some issues with their tiny buttons and cummerbunds and cuff-links, but finally we stood naked, our hands dancing over each other's bodies, slow thrusts teasing us with the friction that was quickly transitioning from a want to a need. Suddenly, I bent and scooped Chris up in my arms before laying him on the bed.
"Ooh, me like big, strong alpha," Chris teased, beating his chest.
I nipped at one of his nipples and he gasped. "You better like your big, strong alpha."
I straddled his hips and marveled at the changes in his body. He was softer in places. Stretched. I traced the maze of stretch marks over his stomach. He tried to push my hand away, but I grabbed his hand and placed it on his thigh. "Stop. I love every inch of you."
"Then stop teasing and start making love to every inch of me," he commanded.
I grabbed his short hair and tugged his head back, licking a line up his throat, over his Adam's apple and ending with a nibble on his chin. "I happen to know you love to be teased."
One had snuck down behind his ass, slid down his crack and found his slick, wet hole. I coated my fingers as best I could and then drew my hand back, holding it in front of Chris for proof. "See?" Then I licked his juices off my fingers with satisfaction. Chris's eyes fell, just half open, his hips a slow and constant roll beneath me.
"We have time for slow and sweet later, alpha. Claim me."
It was like his words opened a floodgate of need. I sat back, freeing him. "On your hands and knees, then."
He complied quickly, presenting his ass to me like a damn present. I caressed his cheeks with both my hands before slipping in a finger to prepare him. He was looser than I expected after so long without sex. Loose enough to take me immediately, perhaps. "You'll tell me if anything makes you uncomfortable?"
"Of course, alpha."
I shivered at his words. He knew the thrill that gave me when he called me alpha. I lined my cock up to his entrance and slowly slid in. My body was ready to go rough and fast right away, but my first concern was my omega. But apparently I was going too slow, as he lunged back, and suddenly I was fully sheathed in his channel, the pleasure overwhelming me, my eyes rolling back at the way his walls enveloped me.
"Slow and sweet later, I said. Fuck me."
So I did. It took me several tries to hit the right angle, but soon enough I found his prostate and he was screaming nonsense as I nailed it over and over. As I felt myself nearing my climax, I pulled him up and circled one hand around his cock, the tip slick with precum, and within a few strokes he was coming with an even louder shout, his muscles clenching around me, pulling me over the edge, my knot swelling inside him. And that was the moment I sunk my teeth into the crease of his neck and shoulder, breaking the skin, leaving my claiming mark. The resulting orgasm as our hormones activated, merging our scents, reached a new level of pure ecstasy. I collapsed sideways, pulling Chris with me, and I could tell he was already more asleep than not. I quickly followed him. Not only did we have the rest of the night for sweet, slow lovemaking, we had an entire lifetime ahead of us.
Epilogue
“Rosemary, please put your brother down.” I scolded for the four bazillionth time since we brought the twins home from the hospital. She loved her brothers and wanted to hold them all the time, which would’ve been fine if she wasn’t barely six.
“But dad, he’s sooooo cute,” she whined as she gently placed him in the bassinet she’d just removed him from. I’d give her that. She was careful with him.
It was still hard to believe that only seven years ago I was a pregnant barista about to be homeless, and now here I was mated to the man of my dreams, the dad of five living in the suburbs. My alpha’s business was well past the startup phase and he had been able to transition from the research side to the philanthropy side, working on developing an emergency response protocol among other projects. Life was good.
“And you are only six and shouldn’t be carrying around babies.”
“But that’s not fair.” She stomped her foot and pointed at the baby I was currently wearing. “You’re holding Sean.”
“We have been over this, Rosemary.” I ignored the foot stomping, knowing her behavior would improve when they reached about a month old, just liked it had with her sisters. No test needed, our sweet little, feisty, intelligent girl was an alpha through and through, and her protective instincts over her siblings turned her into a little monster for a month as she adjusted. “Just because they are twins doesn’t mean they need to do everything the same all the time.”
“But they eat at the same time and nap at the same time.” She kind of had a point, but I wasn’t going to let her know that.
“Rosemary?” Saved by Aiden. He could deal with her little outburst. I sunk back into him, his arms circling around me and just under Sean so as to not disturb his nap.
“Yes, Papa.”
“Your Uncle Ethan is about to take your sisters out to blow bubbles. You should go too.” She didn’t need to be told twice and she shot like an arrow into the back room.
We were having a small combination sixth anniversary and welcome to the family party for the twins with Aiden’s folks, Ethan and his family, and a couple of neighbors. Nothing big, but if we didn’t host something, his dad would and that would be a circus.
“He is?” I asked as my mate chuckled in my ear.
“He is now.”
That was so like Aiden. And there was no way Ethan would deny Rosemary anything. He told us more than once that her birth changed his life. And since he mated not long after, I imagined that, at least to him, that was true.
It was more than true for me. If I hadn’t been pregnant and practically homeless when Aiden’s folks added the mating condition to his financial support, I never would have even dared dream of this life. But now I was living it. One filled with love, children, and an alpha I loved more every single day.
Two men spilled out of the back room, bent over in laughter before catching sight of us.
“Were you the one who set Ethan up for bubble time?” Sebastian offered Aiden a high-five.
“The one and only.” He returned the high five and held his hand out to Hunter in the same manner.
“And that is why you are our hero.” Hunter, having ditched his rock-star-in-public disguise the moment he walked in the house, bowed slightly before giving the requested high five.
“You guys are incorrigible.” I stepped away from Aiden long enough to glance into the bassinet to make sure Eric was still asleep.
“We try our best.” Hunter shrugged. “Putting on the burgers. Should I put on the dogs for the kids?”
“That would be amazing,” I encouraged.
“On it.” Sebastian pulled out a chef hat that must’ve been hiding in his back pocket. “And Aiden?” He called over his shoulder as he sauntered out of the room.
“Yeah.”
“Your dads are passing out gifts to the kids like it’s Christmas. All of them. In case you were wondering.” And with that tidbit they were both gone.
“Of course they are.” Aiden laughed. That was just who they were. They must have a trunk of spare gifts for all ages if they had things for the neighbors’ kids too. “They spoil them.”
“They do.” I had given up that fight long ago. It wasn’t like I’d be able to stop them. “But to be fair, you spoil me.”
“And I plan to every day.” He pulled me in, claiming me with his lips, ever mindful of the baby nestled between us.
“Thank you,” I mumbled between kisses. “For being my everything.”
“It’s only fair, since you are mine. I got you a present. Happy sixth anniversary.” He reached into his pocket and pulled out a set of keys.
I rolled my eyes. “Aiden, don’t you think we’re a little busy for a mid-life crisis car?”
He kissed me on the nose. “Well, with these little guys, the minivan is pretty maxed out. So I upgraded. It’s not very fancy looking, but it’s a top-of-the-line passenger van. I figure we can fit a few more kids in. And it’s way easier to get them all in their car seats. No climbing over anything. Father and I tested it out.”
I shot him a playful glare. “If I weren’t forbidden from sex for a little while longer already, you might just have been sexiled for even thinking about more kids this soon.”
“You can’t tell me you don’t want more,” Aiden responded, his alpha confidence unabated.
He had me there. “But I can’t wait to try out loading the kids up. Oh, the excitement of parenthood.” I kissed him lightly. A more thorough thanks would have to wait until I put Sean down. “Thank you. I love it. My present isn’t something I can hand you, but I think you’ll like it anyway.”
“I don’t need anything,” Aiden promised. “You’re enough.”
“Your present is a secret I’ve been keeping for years.” I leaned forward to whisper in his ear. “The secret to Café Om coffee?”
