“Oh, Nyx!”
He gently traces one finger around my wet entrance all the way up to the sensitive bud at the top of my pussy. My back arches off the mattress. His lips capture my clit and I’m soaring. I can hardly drag in a single breath. He strokes me higher, pushing me toward a precipice.
I want to jump. To fly. To sing with pleasure.
As he slides his tongue deep into my glistening center, my head rolls from side to side. I rock my hips against his mouth to urge his tongue deeper. When he pulls away, I cry out in protest. Then, he parts my pink petals. His tongue invades me once more to twirl around my clit.
I can’t see straight. A low, guttural growl rolls across my lips.
For the first time in my life, I feel what it must be like to be feral. All of the trappings of culture and humanity mean nothing. I don’t care about pursuing what’s right or resisting what’s wrong. I just care about Nyx and what he’s doing to me with his perfect mouth.
I soak up pleasure as I ride his tongue. When he lets out a moan, it sends vibrations through his tongue directly into me.
“Oh my god.” My voice is high and breathy.
My legs begin to tremble. Every inch of me starts to tingle. He grabs my hips to hold me steady while he uses his clever tongue to drive me hard into an orgasm.
I scream as sharp waves of ecstasy break over me.
As I ride the rolling tide of pleasure, he lays his cheek on my thigh. He’s watching me, but I want him to do it. I want him to see what he’s done to me.
“Was that okay?” he asks playfully.
“Better than my vibrator.”
“Good. I was hoping I could beat that machine.”
We both laugh.
I sink into the mattress as he crawls up my body. He props himself up on his arms, hovering over me.
“Don’t get too comfortable, I’m not finished with you yet.”
“Oh really?” I grin.
He hops off the bed and does a sexy strip tease for me. Magic is definitely the right word for his little dance.
Tremors from my orgasm still rip through me, but I’m already eager for more. I can’t tear my gaze from the gorgeous length of his cock. It’s thick and long. Maybe too long.
I scrunch up my nose.
“What?” he glances down at his rigid cock.
“It’s so big.”
And so is the smile on his face.
“I want to touch it—you,” I quickly amend. I don’t want him to think I’m only after his cock. This isn’t even about sex; it’s about finally acknowledging what we really feel.
He lays on the bed beside me.
“Have you ever touched a man before?” he asks.
“Not… No.”
“Here.” He grasps my hand in his and guides it toward his erection.
As I wrap my fingers around him, I’m shocked. It’s like velvet over steel.
“What?”
“It’s so hard and soft at the same time.”
He grunts a response. His eyelids droop and he fixes me with a gaze that spurs me forward. I slowly stroke his length. He’s hot in my hands and soon a drop of precum glistens on the tip.
“Rub it around,” he urges.
I brush my thumb over the tip, then bring it to my lips. I have to taste him.
He’s salty and musky. It’s the most irresistible scent I’ve ever smelled. I want to taste all of him, so I scoot down until my lips are inches from the head of his cock.
His hands are in my hair, holding it back. As I lower my lips to his plump head, I inhale. The subtle scent of lavender soap invades my senses.
I part my lips and flick my tongue out to touch the tip. He groans and his hips flex.
Encouraged by his response, I suck him into my mouth. I use instinct to guide me. My tongue runs down the seam along the underside of his cock. My jaw aches from being spread so wide, but it’s worth it. His eyes close and his mouth forms a tight “O”.
As I suck him, he hisses. I stop. His eyes fly open.
“Why did you stop?”
“You hissed.”
“Because I don’t want to come right away.”
“Oh.” I silently congratulate myself as I resume sucking.
It doesn’t take long before he grabs a fistful of my hair and pulls me away. Before I can react, he has my on my back. He’s between my thighs and his cock is pressed against my entrance. We don’t need condoms because shifters can’t catch diseases, and I’m on the pill. It’s the one thing the stepmonster did right.
“Are you ready?” he asks.
“Make me yours.”
His eyes go dark with desire. He rubs the head of his cock across my lips. I grab his ass and try to pull him down.
“Relax, sweetie,” he whispers.
“You’re torturing me.”
“You’ve been tormenting me for years. I’m allowed a few moments to torment you,” he teases.
“You’re wicked.”
“Yes, but you already knew that.”
Before I can say anything more, he pushes the head of his cock slowly into my core. When he meets resistance, he thrusts hard.
I gasp. A sharp sting steals my breath.
Then, he’s moving inside me.
Every inch of him fills me so completely. I tighten around him as he slowly pulls back before plunging back in. He’s in complete control, and I adore every second of it.
As he grinds into me, my pussy flutters. The tension’s back, and I’m spiraling toward another orgasm. I’m on the brink, ready to explode, and he’s just getting started.
“Nyx, please,” I beg.
“Not so fast,” he growls. “I’m going to make you come over and over until you’ll never think about anyone but me.”
My heart clenches because I wonder if he’s right. Will making love to him take away my feelings for the other guys?
Before I can delve into the question, Nyx rolls us so he’s on his back and I’m straddling him.
“Ride me.”
“Like a horse?”
“Uh, yeah, basically.”
I rise slightly before coming down. It’s awkward and feels strange but good.
“Am I doing it right?” I ask.
“Hell yeah.”
Buoyed by a fresh wave of confidence, I rock up and down. He’s so deep inside me, I can hardly believe I can handle it. My breasts sway as his hips buck and he bounces me on his cock. Each time my nipples brush against his chest, it adds a new element to my pleasure.
He plays with my breasts, pinching and nipping at my nipples. I love it. I never knew it could feel this good.
“You’re the sexiest woman in the world,” he says.
I grin. Damn right I am!
An orgasm builds within me. Nyx must recognize the signs because he leans closer and whispers to me. “Say my name when you come.”
That alone almost sends me over the edge. When he slings one arm around my waist to hold me up so he can brush my clit with his free hand, I come apart in his arms.
“Oh, Nyx.” I cry out as stars explode behind my eyes.
“Say it again.”
“Nyx.”
As I tighten around his cock, he reaches his own height of pleasure. He pulses into me over and over until I’m slick with his release.
I collapse on top of him. He holds me close as I shiver.
“Just keep riding it,” he whispers.
I don’t know if he means the orgasm or his cock. I couldn’t possibly move right now if I wanted to, so I just relax against him. I lay my head on his chest and listen to his rushing heart.
Slowly and with great care, he slides out of me and settles me on the bed. It’s far too hot to get under the blankets, so I lay back against the pillows.
Nyx curls me against his side before wrapping his arms around me.
“Are you okay?”
“I feel like I’ve died and gone to Heaven.”
His chuckle rumbles through his chest.
“Are you too hot?” he asks.
“You’re warm, but I’d rather overheat than not touch you.” I’m still out of breath. My head swims, yet if he asked me to go again, I’d agree without hesitation. “You’re going to be my new addiction.”
“That’s my goal.” He presses a kiss into my damp temple.
Would that still be his goal if he knew I also feel the same for Remus and Torak? I thought making love to Nyx might change everything. It changed how close we are, but it didn’t change my desire for the other guys.
A wave of guilt washes over me. I should’ve talked to him before we had sex. It’s my fault. I couldn’t resist him. Everything about him is so damn sexy.
“What’s with the face?” His lips graze my ear and it sends shivers down my spine.
“What face?” I ask, even though I know what he means.
“You look like you’re thinking, and if you’re coherent enough to think straight, then I’ve done something very wrong.”
“Believe me, you’ve done nothing wrong.” I trace my fingers down the smooth, muscular planes of his chest.
“Then, what’s with the face? You’ve clearly got something on your mind.”
There’s no way around it now. I can’t lie to him. He deserves to know exactly where my heart is. I hope I don’t ruin what’s between us before its even had a chance to begin.
“I’ve fallen for you,” I say before I can second guess myself. I glance at Nyx in time to see his expression brighten. A megawatt smile eclipses the rest of his features.
“I’ve fallen for you too.” His hand snakes around to the back of my neck. He pulls me in for a kiss that I’m more than happy to drown in until he pulls away. “Wait, then why did you make that weird face?”
“Weird?”
“Beautifully weird. But still weird. But, seriously, why the face?”
“I’ve fallen for you.” I begin again, but this time the words get stuck. “But I’ve also fallen for Remus and Torak.”
The light in his expression dims. I wish I’d kept my mouth shut. I’m insane to think this could ever work. Nyx is going to hate me forever.
“What does that mean for us?” He doesn’t sound thrilled, but that’s better than it could have been. Small victories.
“I’m not sure. I didn’t think we’d get this far.”
“Well, we did. You must know I’m crazy about you. If you tell me what you want, I’ll do my best to give it to you.”
“You say that now.”
“Come on. Tell me.” Nyx gives me a gentle nudge. There’s laughter in his voice, so this must not be as bad as it seems.
“I want to be in a relationship...” My words get stuck again. Seriously, why is this so hard? I’m past the point of no return now. I can’t be a chicken about it. “With all of you.” I finish with a wince.
“Oh.” I can’t tell if Nyx is surprised, angry, or in a catatonic state.
“What do you think?” The silence is unbearable.
“This is uncharted territory for me.”
“Really?” I’m embarrassed by how shocked I sound. It’s no secret Nyx is one of Bonfire Falls’ most notorious playboys. He never settles down and certainly never commits. This arrangement should be right up his alley.
“You may have noticed I’m kind of a lone wo—”
“If you say lone wolf, I’ll leave,” I say in jest. “That’s too much of a cliché.”
“I’m the original lone wolf, sunshine. I can never be a cliché,” he jokes back, but he’s not enthusiastic. “My point is, I don’t like to share.”
“That’s understandable. I could never expect you to agree to something so weird. I’m awful to even suggest it. You deserve better than that.”
Nyx silences me with a kiss.
“You didn’t let me finish.” His eyes are warm and soft. “Remember how I said I’m crazy about you? I mean it. Even if I can only have a piece of you, I’ll take it.”
I’m so shocked it takes me a moment to speak.
“Seriously?”
“Seriously,” he says.
I snuggle closer to him. Relief washes over me as it finally hits me that he has agreed to share me.
“Have you talked about it with anyone else?” he asks.
“No. You’re the first one. The first for, well, everything.”
“I’m glad I could be your first.” He wraps his arms around me and squeezes me against him. “Is it selfish to hope Remus and Torak hate the idea so I get you all to myself?”
“No.” I laugh. “But if they agree, do you promise to play nice?”
“When have I ever played nice?” He snarls playfully and gently nibbles my earlobe. Goosebumps ripple down my body. My skin is still flushed and sensitive.
“Never,” I say breathlessly as he kisses a trail down my neck toward my breasts.
“If the other two agree, I’ll be respectful,” he finally says. “I won’t fight, scheme, or otherwise try to steal you so I can keep you all to myself. I promise.”
“Okay.” I smile at the sincerity in his tone.
“Good. Are you ready for round two?”
“Already?”
“As long as I have you to myself, I’m going to take full advantage of it.”
I grin. If he wants to make love to me all night long, I’m ready. Who needs sleep?

I’m glad I can escape the tension in the house to stroll through Remus’ lavender field. Ever since I slept with Nyx, everyone has been on edge. It’s mostly my fault because Nyx and I made love all night, which left me exhausted. I fell asleep immediately after we finished. I hadn’t planned on staying the night, but I did. And… I forgot to call Remus and Torak. They were worried sick. And let’s just say it was more than a little awkward the next morning when we returned to the house.
Torak and Remus were pissed.
Nyx and I should have called them. I don’t blame them for being mad. I haven’t told them why I spent the night, but I’m sure they have their suspicions. I want to talk to both Torak and Remus separately about my feelings, and I need to do it soon. If I wait too long, it might be too late.
They claim they’re only mad because they thought something horrible had happened to us. However, something tells me there’s more to it. If they were only worried about my wellbeing, they would’ve calmed down the moment I walked in the door. Torak and Remus are still bothered by something. It might be jealousy because I spent the night alone with Nyx. I haven’t spent the night with either Remus or Torak yet, but I hope I’ll be able to work things out with them.
Remus barely says a word to me now. I’ve tried to make conversation over the last few days, but all I get are one-word answers or grunts. He’s never been like this before. I don’t know what to do.
Hence the lavender.
I might pick some, make it into a tea, and then make them drink it. That would calm everyone down. Nyx and Torak aren’t particularly fond of tea, though. Maybe I should bake a cake instead. Or ice cream? I don’t know.
I linger in the lavender fields long after my basket is filled. I don’t want to go back to the house until I know what to do next. I can’t stand how things are between me and the guys, especially now that I need them more than ever.
When the sun starts to dip below the tree line, I know I have to go back. Remus will only be more upset with me if I stay out after dark. In the dark, it’s harder to avoid Lexus’ spies.
The lights in the house are dim. I expect Nyx and Torak have both left to go to their own homes. Torak has slowly moved instruments over to Remus’ place, but I know he likes to escape to write songs every so often. Nyx is trying to give us space, so he only comes over for a few hours during the day.
There’s a light on in the workroom. Remus must be in there to prepare items for Thyme and Country.
Good. This’ll give us a chance to talk.
I enter through the side door. In the workroom, the scent of lavender is
overpowering. Apparently, Remus also decided to use the plant to calm himself down.
He’s bent over a boiling pot where he’s mixing lavender essential oil with other herbs. Delicate perfume bottles are off to the side. He’ll fill them later.
He looks over his shoulder when he hears me. He gives me a nod and turns back to his work.
“Great minds think alike.” I give a lame chuckle. He says nothing in response.
“Can I help?” I try again. “You know, in case you’re worried about broken perfume bottles.”
It’s been known to happen. His hands are so big, and the funnels are so small and flimsy. The bottles aren’t cheap either.
“I’m fine.”
“We both know that’s not true.” I set the basket of lavender on the table in the center of the garage. “Talk to me. Please.”
He stirs the herbal mixture in silence. I’m about to give up and go into the main house when he finally speaks up.
“You scared the hell out of me the other day. When you didn’t come home, I was sure I lost you. I thought Lexus had finally caught up with you. Do you have any idea how horrible that was for me?”
“I can’t imagine.” My tone is quiet with guilt. “It was an accident. I’m so sorry.”
“I know it was an accident.” He takes the Ashwood spoon out of the pot and sets it aside before he turns to face me. “It’s okay. Accidents happen, but that doesn’t undo the fear I felt.”
“I know. Please tell me what I can do to make things right between us. I’ll do anything.”
“Nothing’s wrong between us.” His expression softens into a smile. “It’s me. My worries sometimes get to me. That’s all.”
“Share your worries with me. You’ve taken on my burdens. Let me take some of yours.”
“It’s nothing.” He shrugs. “Sales have dropped this week. People in town have bought extra water, non-perishables, and even weapons. Bonfire Falls knows something’s up, and they want to be ready for it. No one wants to spend anything they don’t have to spend. My shop is a luxury. I’ve always known that.”
“I’m sorry.” I chew my bottom lip.
“Why? You didn’t drive my business away.” He frowns.
“Didn’t I? If I didn’t start this whole thing with Lexus, we wouldn’t be in this situation.” I suck in a shaky breath as I wonder how much better things would be for Remus, Nyx, and Torak if I’d minded my own business.
