by Mackenzie Williams

Morgan walked to her desk, placing her hands on it. She leaned over it while closing her eyes. A few tears soon started to fill them. What should she do next? Her eyes slowly opened, and her head absentmindedly turned toward where she had found the box of files.

She jumped when a loud voice came over her desk phone. It was Mr. Slade, and he didn't sound happy. "Ms. White, after you get your drink, I need you back in here. We have work to do today."

Those tears slowly fell from her face. Well, that's it. Mr. Slade needed to bring back another plaything to keep himself happy. He doesn't want only me. Is he going to get rid of me?

With a trembling hand, she pressed a button on her desk phone. "Yes, Mr. Slade."

  Chapter Twelve

"Ms. White, I asked you a question." Connor scowled down at Morgan.

She was sitting in one of his office chairs, just staring out the window. She had been in his office for the last twenty minutes and had done virtually no work. She was obviously distracted by something. Connor couldn't read her emotions, though. Morgan seemed so distant.

"Sorry. I'll go get my laptop." Morgan stood from the chair with a sigh.

When she was gone, he swore under his breath. Connor wasn't an idiot. He understood that the presence of another woman in the office, especially a secretary, could be worrisome for his sweet, but he had no idea why she was acting so dramatically. Marcie worked closely with him, and Morgan had never acted quite like this. There's no way she knows that I'm familiar with Shay.

  "Mr. Slade?"

  Speak of the devil. "Yes."

He turned around to find his old temp standing in his doorway. "Just a quick question." She sauntered into the office. "I can't find that list of contacts you mentioned."

As she neared, her familiar perfume filled his nostrils. Connor had no feelings for her, though. She was a good fuck buddy, but that had been a while ago. Shay had been very willing to play his games, and when her time was up, she had left on good terms. There were no tears or pleas to stay. It had been perfect.

"I can have Ms. White email them to you. She should have them." He eyed her suspiciously as she came to a stop next to him and cocked her hips from side to side.

"Yes, Ms. White." Shay lifted her hand and trailed a finger down his arm. "Why is her office so big? Is the boss getting soft? Can't handle the game anymore, or was this HR's decision?" She snorted, and then a mischievous smirk lifted her lips.

"Ms. Wilson, that's none of your business." He mirrored her smirk.

A sudden, loud noise had Connor turning his attention to his doorway again. Morgan was standing against the open door, and for a second time, the door banged against the wall as she stumbled.

  Shit.

  ****

Morgan almost dropped the laptop in her hands as stress and misery ran up the back of her throat. She felt like she could vomit. With shaky legs, she stepped away from the door and started to walk farther into Mr. Slade's office. Morgan tried to look as normal as possible, but the scowl on her boss's face told her that she wasn't.

Shay took a step back from Mr. Slade with an odd expression. Morgan expected her to have a look of snotty triumph, but it didn't seem that way. Was Morgan mistaken about her role here?

"Sorry, Mr. Slade. My shoe slipped off my heel, and I fell into your door." Morgan felt like she was rambling. She set her laptop down on the end of his desk. "I can look that file up for you now."

Morgan moved her stare down to the computer, and she made herself stay that way. She refused to look at him. She didn't think she could hold back her tears if she did. Another threat was making itself known, also. A small ball of anger was starting to grow.

Her fingers trembled against the keyboard making it difficult to type correctly. She had to erase the same word multiple times, misspelling it over and over. Morgan huffed out an irritated breath. That ball of anger was still growing.

Shay stepped up behind her, and Morgan cringed. "I need that contact list. Do you have it?"

Her words flew out quickly. "Is that what you need?" Morgan couldn't hide the contempt in her tone.

"Yes." The other woman's response was more irritated, too.

"Then I'll get right on it. I am a secretary after all." Her hands were shaking so badly that Morgan had to stop her attempts to type for several seconds. She took a deep breath, flexing her fingers.

"Ms. Wilson, I think it's close enough for you to take an early lunch. By the time you return, Ms. White will have sent you the information required."

"All right." Morgan sensed the woman walking toward the door. "I'll be back in an hour."

Her voice grated against Morgan's nerves. She waited until she heard the office door close before she moved. Morgan turned to double check that Shay was indeed gone and then turned her glaring eyes on Mr. Slade. She could see that he was in no mood for her problems, but she was starting not to care. Morgan slowly stood up straight, holding the eye contact.

"Ms. White, you are being unprofessional, and this isn't the time. We have numerous things to accomplish before this merger is final."

"Unprofessional? Ha! Why don't you just fuck her right in front of me and get it over with?"

His body language changed immediately. There was resentment mixed with dominance in his facial expression as his back got stiffer. Mr. Slade's jaw clenched before he finally spoke to her.

  "What are you talking about?"

Morgan stepped closer to him. She was starting to sweat. "I saw your file of acquiescent workers." She did air quotes with her words. "At least I'm in good company. How would you rate me, Mr. Slade? Is she a better lay than me?"

The resentment was still written on his face, but his stare changed just a little. There was now less confusion in his eyes. "Where did you find that file?"

"Does it matter?" Her eyes narrowed on him.

He inhaled slowly and paused, as if thinking. "Yes, Morgan, she was one of my old temporary secretaries, but that's not why she's here now."

"Oh, please! Why should I believe that?" Morgan lifted her arms into the air, waving them for a second. "You expect me to think it is just a coincidence that when you need extra hands, it simply happens to be one of your old fuck toys?" Her voice was getting too loud, and she briefly wondered how many people were listening.

"I didn't hire her, despite your worries." He lifted a finger, pointing at her.

Morgan instantly felt like a little girl being reprimanded by her father. Was it sick that she almost wanted more? She stepped closer still. Her face was inches from his hand. "What do you mean?"

  "Marcie took care of it."

"Yeah, right." Morgan rolled her eyes at him. That was a mistake.

  Chapter Thirteen

Mr. Slade growled, and it affected Morgan more than she would have thought. Some of her anger was slipping into a need for him. A rushed desire was building. Why did that small sound do that to her? He tilted his head downward while narrowing his eyes on her. It felt like he was creating a vacuum around them. It was harder for her to breathe.

"Come with me, Morgan. I don't like people doubting me. Especially you."

Especially me? Did he mean that in a rude way or in a flattering way? She didn't have time to question him. Her boss swiftly grabbed her by the upper arm and started briskly walking toward his door. Morgan squeaked in protest. He wasn't being gentle. He wasn't worried about letting her catch up, either. Mr. Slade was on a mission.

When he reached the door, he threw it opened and hurriedly marched down the hall with large steps. Morgan was having trouble keeping up in her heels. She was practically jogging as they came to the end of the hall.

Standing just outside the break room was Cade. He was holding a cup of coffee with a stunned look. When they got closer, though, his lips pulled up into a cocky smirk. He nodded at Mr. Slade, who paid him little attention. Morgan looked wide-eyed at the man as Mr. Slade rushed them past him.

They were soon standing next to Marcie's desk. She was on a
phone call, but when she saw Mr. Slade, she instantly told the person on the line that she needed to put them on hold. Mr. Slade barely waited for her hand to click the conversation to mute.

"Marcie, please tell Ms. White how Ms. Wilson came to work here this week."

Morgan was instantly irritated with this conversation. Her boss seemed to be on Marcie's team. She twisted in his hand, but Mr. Slade held her arm firmly. A sense of embarrassment had her face heating up further.

Marcie stood from her chair, her stare bouncing back and forth between the two standing before her. Morgan thought she saw a bit of laughter in the other girl's eyes.

"Well, you informed me that we would need extra help for a week or so. I called one of our normal agencies. That's about it." This time when Marcie looked at Morgan, she was sure she saw bitchy glee.

"Did I request Ms. Wilson?" Mr. Slade's hand squeezed Morgan a bit harder. In a twisted way, it seemed almost comforting.

  "No, sir."

"What did I say when you were finished scheduling help?"

"You asked if the assignment could be changed, but I was told Ms. Wilson was the only temp available with the skills we needed."

Morgan scowled at Marcie. Was it her imagination, or had the receptionist emphasized that word strangely? She watched as Marcie's face drew up into a polite smile that appeared a bit off. Morgan had the urge to hop over the woman's desk and "kindly" wipe it off for her.

"Thank you. You may get back to your call." Mr. Slade nodded to her and then quickly turned away from her.

As he pulled Morgan back away from the desk, her mind was swirling. Should she believe that he had no hand in Shay showing up? Should she believe Marcie that she had been the only choice? Morgan was still leaning toward "no". The conversation seemed rehearsed, or was that just Morgan's insecurity telling her that?

Just as they rounded the corner to head back to his office, Mr. Slade paused. Morgan was breathing so heavily that she felt she might hyperventilate. Her boss looked down the hall and then back toward a smaller part of the hallway that led to the fire exit. Morgan had no clue what he was pondering, but he looked tense.

"Morgan, you know what happens when I get overly stressed and worked up. And I believe part of the reason you're here is to help me with that." His expression softened.

He stared at her almost as if he was waiting for her permission. Morgan wasn't sure, but she slowly nodded. Then her mouth popped open, but only a rushed breath came from her. She pulled slightly on her arm, thankful now that there were no coworkers in the hallway.

He leaned into her, his eyes wild. The green in them seemed to be almost swirling with extra colors. "It seems I need to remind you who my dick wants."

  ****

Connor stood there, staring at her. His heart was racing but not from nerves. His annoyance was palatable. The scary thing was that it wasn't just irritation at Morgan for disbelieving him. There was a bit of anger there for the fact that he was more "tied down" now. He slightly resented the fact that he had to answer to her. If he wanted to fuck Shay, he had no doubt she'd say yes. He was an asshole for even thinking about it.

This little romp with Ms. White would be more than just relieving his stress, at the moment. This fuck would be to get his mind back on track. To remind himself that he only wanted her. Right?

Of course, don't be an idiot.

Connor exhaled a deep breath and watched her expression change. She looked nervous, but he could see her lust and need growing by the second. She wanted this, too.

"Come on." He pulled her toward the fire exit.

When they reached it, Connor harshly pushed the stairwell door open. It was a heavy, metal door. This was the stairwell he usually came up after his runs, and this wasn't his first experience using it for more than just a way in or out the building.

He pulled Morgan into the stairwell, she gasped in surprise as the door shut behind them. There was a loud echo that rang out up and down the stairs. Her eyes were wide as she looked around. She was on edge. Perfect.

"Mr. Slade, you can't be serious. People use this stairwell sometimes, and not just in emergencies."

"I know." He released her arm and quickly grabbed her lower back, pulling her into his body.

  "Sir…"

He cut her off swiftly with a kiss. It was demanding and fast. Her body was stiff against him, but as the kiss intensified, she softened. His irritation and stress were pouring into her from his lips and tongue. He needed this. He needed her.

I should tell her that. No, I should show her that.

Morgan whimpered into his mouth, and his cock twitched in his slacks. Connor turned her with himself, without breaking the kiss. He was soon moving her further away from the door and closer to the railing. He pressed her back against it, and she gripped his arms forcefully. A slow smile lifted his lips as he ended the kiss.

"Connor … I mean, Sir. I don't want to fall." She lifted her foot just an inch to bring attention to the fact that she was wearing high heels.

"You won't. I've never lost a secretary, and I'm not going to start with you." His smile grew more crooked and cocky.

Her head tilted to the side. Morgan's expression was flat, but he could read in her eyes that she was slightly offended by that. Connor also had no doubt that she secretly loved the fact that he had conquered other women before her.

Just then a noise had her tensing. Morgan squeezed his arms tighter still as someone a few floors up opened the stairwell door. The creaking sound bounced off the walls around then. She held her breath, and Connor took advantage of her fearful frame of mind.

He swiftly lifted her skirt, close to exposing her bare ass and pussy. Morgan's breath rushed from her, and she moved her hands from his arms to her skirt. She tried to push it back down, but he didn't give in or release it.

"Mr. Slade! What if they come down here?" Her beautiful eyes held panic but also exhilaration.

Connor lifted one eyebrow. "Then they'll get quite a show, won't they?"

  Chapter Fourteen

Morgan strained her eyes, looking up the stairwell. She kept repeating a silent plea that no one would come down the stairs toward them. As she heard heavy footsteps a few floors up, Mr. Slade ran his lips down her neck. Her attention on the stranger above was starting to waver.

  "Connor," she whispered.

"No." His lips moved up, and he lightly bit her earlobe.

More footsteps thumped above them. They were followed by a loud bang as a heavy door closed. Morgan had little time to enjoy the silence. Mr. Slade lifted a hand to her head and slowly ran it through her hair. She moaned lightly before he repeated the action. This time, however, he grabbed it tightly afterwards.

Mr. Slade pulled on her hair, causing her head to lean back. She whimpered as his kiss moved across her cheek and finally reached her lips. When it did, he paused and spoke against her skin.

"Don't use my name, Ms. White. Not here."

Morgan tried to turn her head to speak, but he held her head firmly in place. Mr. Slade continued his kiss, and it started to get rougher. She gave him everything she could. His free hand slid down her body. He gradually ran it up her inner thigh.

When he pulled back from the kiss, she got a bit more courageous. Morgan was unsure where it came from, though. Maybe it was a direct result of this powerful man wanting her so badly.

"Sir, someday soon I want to be screaming that name at your house."

His expression didn't change, but his jaw tightened slightly. Morgan hoped that he took her statement as a desire to be with him more often, not as a clingy complaint.

"You shouldn't care what you're screaming out, just as long as it's for me and me alone."

Just then his hand made it to her waiting pussy. A tremor moved down her legs as his expert fingers parted her lips. She inhaled sharply, and another sound soon mixed with hers. Another door opened just above them.

Mr. Slade made a low but not quiet growling sound and Morgan wondered if
it was a warning to the other person in the stairwell. It seemed to have worked because she only heard two footsteps before the person reversed and the door closed.

"Sir … please." She wasn't sure what she was asking from him, but she knew she didn't want to prolong this exposed position.

Mr. Slade slipped a finger inside her and moved it back and forth. Morgan's eyes fell shut as he pulled a little tighter on her hair. He pressed his body further into hers, kissing her lips again. Her ankle wobbled a little causing her to lean farther over the railing. Morgan's eyes flew open as she gasped.

"You're right, sweet. We need to finish this. Now, who does this pussy belong to?" He released her hair and pulled her forward with one hand on her back and the other still fingering her pussy.

Morgan breathed heavily against his neck. "Sir?"

"Answer me, Morgan. Whose pussy is this?" His hand left her back and quickly found her breast.

Mr. Slade reached into her blouse, causing the top button to pop open. He roughly massaged it as his hot breath ran over her face. The impish side of her wanted to respond with "Connor", but she didn't want to risk his annoyance leaving her wanting and wet on the stairs.

  "Yours, Mr. Slade."

He groaned as his finger slid in and out of her cunt. "Say it again."

  "Yours, Mr. Slade."

He groaned even louder while his hand harshly squeezed her breast. She took a shaky breath, and just then, something else had her next breath even more unsteady. There was a light knocking sound coming from the door they had exited. She tried to concentrate on it but couldn't with Mr. Slade's finger fucking increasing in speed.

"Sir, I think someone's at the door." She tried to push him back.

Mr. Slade was obviously annoyed with the interruption and her worries. He swiftly stepped back from her, pulling his finger free from her pussy. She instantly regretted saying anything. He gave her a stern warning look before turning away from her.

Shit! I've pissed him off. Is he leaving? Morgan stepped forward, forgetting about her skirt being pushed up. "Sir, sorry."
