  “Are you listening to me?”

Ignoring me, he climbed on the bike and slammed on the gear. The rumble of the motor as it roared to life completely drowned me out. His eyes were focused ahead, waiting for me to decide.

Grabbing his shoulder, I slid in behind him, my hands going around his waist. His hand reached out behind him and he gripped my thigh, squeezing it tightly.

  “Hang on!”

  “Where are we going?”

  “You’ll see!”

As we took off I knew I needed to find a way to reach out to Wolf or Chastity. I couldn’t just let him go off by himself. It was too dangerous, and fuck if he thought I would go in blind. He had another thing coming if he thought I wouldn’t get back up on our ass. I didn’t survive the LAPD by being stupid.

Three hours later I signaled that I needed to stop. He pulled up to a gas station and I quickly leaped off the bike.

“What’s wrong?” He stated taking his helmet off.

“I need to use the bathroom.”

He nodded. “I’ll get gas. Don’t go too far. This isn’t the nicest neighborhood.”

I winked at him and pointed to my badge that hung on my neck.

He frowned and shook his head sadly. “That won’t always protect you, Princess.”

His solemn statement hung in the air and instead of engaging in that sad discussion, I turned around and made my way to the back of the station. Going into the women’s restroom I quickly locked myself in. I pulled out my phone and dialed Chastity first, Gunner answered on the first ring.

  “Where are you?”

I frowned, a bit confused. “How did you...? Never mind. We’re on the outskirts of Vegas.”

“You need to keep him away from Calvaro, Gabriela. He’ll fucking kill him.”

“Why do you think I’m calling you? I can’t detain him. He’s after blood. You can’t stop a man like that. You can only join him and see how far he’ll go.”

  “Stall him.”

  “How?”

I’ve already sent Cain and Knox after him and the Fallen Kings are in Vegas. You need to stall him. We’ve got word that Calvaro is with La Cruz. They’re starting some serious shit and we can’t have D blowing it up.”

  “Fuck! I knew it!”

“Look Gabriela, you’re a good cop. Just do your best here, it’s all I’m asking. Diesel’s got a shitty past, but he’s a good man. One who’ll give everything for the one he loves. Even his life. Don’t let him give his life.”

I could hear the worry and angst in Gunner’s voice and I nodded. “I’ll do what I can.”

  “We’ll be there soon.”

I tucked the phone back into my pants and stared at myself in the mirror. There was no telling what the hell was going to happen and a feeling of dread was looming over me. I always listened to my gut. It was partly why my ass was still alive. Whatever was going on here was going to go down badly. If only I could make Diesel see it that way.

I jumped at the sound of loud banging on the door.

“Gabriela! Are you in there?” Diesel’s voice came through, a tone of concern ringing through it. I sighed, hating that I was hiding things from him.

I quickly washed my hands, preparing myself for the onslaught of lies I was about to give. My hands were shaking as I dried them off and quickly opened the door. “Sorry I…”

I was suddenly swept up in his arms. He slammed the door shut, and propped me up against it. My legs wrapped around him as he kneaded my hips, leaning into me.

“What has gotten into you?” I whispered.

“You disappeared for too long.” He nuzzled my neck and I felt him breathe me in.

  “Diesel?”

He pressed his forehead to mine and took a deep sigh. “I’m sorry. You took so long. At first I thought something bad had happened and then I thought you left me.”

“Hey,” I cupped his cheeks and forced him to look up at me.

His eyes were filled with apprehension. “I know I’m fucking up here. I know this. But I’ve been on my own for a long time. I don’t remember what it’s like to be with someone.”

“I’ll never pressure you into anything baby. And I’m not leaving you. I have no idea what we’re getting into, but if I’m to be your backup you need to trust me. Do you trust me Diesel?”

He looked a bit hesitant, but then his eyes locked onto mine and I felt his strength and his overwhelming willpower.

“I trust you with every fiber of my being, Princess.” His gruff response made me melt and as his lips dragged against mine, I sank into the warm feeling of him.

He reached around and dragged my jeans down, tugging them along my hips. Almost desperately, he let me down briefly sweeping a pant leg off and then gripping my ass he propped me back up against that door. One moment I’m up in the air, the next he’s sliding me down onto him, our adrenaline kicking in as he filled me. My pussy throbbing as he penetrated me, his hard length spreading me so agonizingly slow. His eyes locked on mine as he lifted me off his cock only to thrust up as he slammed me down.

“Diesel!” I cried out his name as I let him take me. Up and down in strong, forceful thrusts as he held me suspended in the air.

It was the most exquisite feeling to let go, to submit to him, pleasure coursing all through my body.

“Fuck, Gabriela. I need you baby. I need you so fucking much!”

He ravaged me then, making me cry out as his thrusts got more intense, faster, and deeper. His scruffy chin scraped against my neck, his hands gripping my ass tightly while I was driven up and down on his rigid pole. It was unbelievable how easily he carried me, how easy it was for me to give up my control. I never gave up control to anyone, yet I found it liberating. I’d let Diesel do anything he wanted to me, anything at all. I shook as my orgasm took me over. I cried out as he fucked me through it, making me shudder and convulse around him. He was everything I wanted and I wanted to keep him safe. He growled in my ear as he let himself go, releasing his hot cum into my unprotected womb as he held me tight.

We were in a dingy bathroom in the middle of nowhere with danger looming ahead of us, yet all I could think about was how warm and strong my man felt. How I didn’t want to let me go. How I needed to save him, even if it meant saving him from himself.

  DIESEL

An hour later the lights from the Strip glowed in the skyline. Gabriela wrapped her arms around me tightly and I wrapped my arm around hers for reassurance. I really hated myself for dragging her into this. I quickly realized I didn’t want her here. I wanted her safe back at home. But she had this wild determined look in her eye that dared me to say no. She looked so goddamn beautiful in that instant and something in me wanted to forget it all. To grab her and run away and forget my dark, fucking past. But if I did that, if I gave up, it would be like turning my back on Isabel and I couldn’t let her down again. Not again.

I pulled us up to the Bellagio, it was always the fucking Bellagio with Charlie. He liked to play the tables. Motherfucker had luck too, always managed to win. He’d always walk away within the first hour stating his luck ran out at that point. Any longer and he’d lose it all. Grabbing Gabriela by the hand I led her into the busy hotel.

As soon as you walked in you stepped into a Venetian styled hall, complete with golden atrium and a beautiful blown glass art ceiling. Two Chinese dragons greeted you at the entrance while the famous Bellagio Fountain Show started up behind us. Out of the corner of my eye I watched Gabriela taking in the high-end stores and the high ceilings. She was completely immersed in the sights and I could only smile at her.

  “What?” she asked innocently.

  “Never been?”

“Uh-uh,” she looked up and stared at the glass blown ceiling. The array of glass glittering in the dim light creating a stunning array of colors. Her pretty mouth parted in awe and I couldn’t help but lean in and graze my lips against hers.

“I promise I’ll bring you again and we can spend as mu
ch time as you want gawking at the ceiling. But right now, we’ve got to go.”

She pouted as I tugged lightly on her hand. I loved the way she gripped my wrist with her other hand and leaned in on me as we walked. As if she was afraid to let go of me. If she only knew that I felt the same exact way. I wanted her close. So damn close.

We walked through the elaborate maze of colorful and loud coin machines which led right to the dollar, five-dollar and up to a hundred-dollar slot machines, right out to the blackjack table where I spotted Charlie wearing his ugly as sin, blue suede jacket. I shook my head and made my way through the groups of people lined around the Craps table. Gabriela’s hold tightened on my hand and I reached back, pulling her into the crook of my arm. We made our way to Charlie’s table and we quickly sat down to his right.

I placed my hand on his shoulder and he looked over at me and then at Gabriela. “She’s new.”

  “She’s none of your business.”

He tilted his head and nodded in agreement. “I heard he’s staying over at the MGM and he’s using the fucking airport tunnels to get through the city. If my source is correct, he should be at the casino right about now.”

I nodded and patted him on the shoulder, but before I could leave he grabbed at my jacket. “Now hold on a second!”

I turned to him, my eyes glaring down at his hand. The kid didn’t budge and I was starting to get tired of people holding me back. “What the fuck is it now?”

I narrowed my eyes on his and watched as he looked over at Gabriela and then his eyes wandered towards the other end of the table. I closed my eyes, knowing one the fools that Wolf had on me were seated back there. I turned slowly and found Ryan Simon perched on a stool looking dapper as fuck in a dark charcoal suit. His eyes staring fixedly at me.

“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me?”

I grabbed Gabriela by the hand and went to leave when I felt a set of hands gripping me by the shoulders and sitting me back down.

“What the fuck?” I tried getting up again and was forced back down. I looked over at Gabriela and her eyes were wide, yet her hand was tucked in her waistband, right where I knew her gun would be.

I looked up at the two goons I knew were standing there. Sure enough Poe and Ash, Death Row Shooters Sargent at Arms and Road Captain were smirking down at me.

“Enjoying this, are you?” I rolled my eyes and looked over at Gabriela. I shook my head, signaling they were friendly, and she instantly relaxed.

“What are you doing here Ryan?”

“Wolf said I needed to keep my eye out on his boy.”

“So he’s got you following me around too?”

Ryan shrugged. “I’m not really following you, I’m more securing you don’t ruin shit for me. Charlie here was kind enough to let us know the deal. You’re after Calvaro and I want La Cruz, let’s just work together here.”

“Hey, wait a second, that wasn’t the deal here,” Charlie stated, jumping out of his seat.

Poe reached out placing a hand on his shoulder. He closed his eyes and shook his head letting him know it was best he remain seated.

“Relax Charlie. I’m not thinking of excluding the FBI. I have enough shit to worry about than pissing government officials off.” He looked over at Diesel and leaned in. In a hushed tone he gave us all the information he had on Calvaro and La Cruz. How he knew any details or how he go this information was always a fucking mystery to me. I had informants, but this guy was on a different level.

“So La Cruz and Calvaro want to ship in the drugs throughout the whole west coast?”

“Not only the West Coast. Down South, through Canada, any border they can find. They want to expand the business and Calvaro is the perfect son of a bitch for the job. He’s been laying low for ten years, using every twisted mean he can to travel through the U.S. without being caught. Motherfucker’s a fucking chameleon. Charlie here got lucky. Most people have no idea who he is.”

I looked at Gabriela and she leaned in and placed a hand on my forearm. “Maybe we should listen to him. You can’t bring him down alone.”

“Look Diesel, I’m only here to help.”

I narrowed my eyes on Ryan Simon, not sure why he was so intent on helping me. “What the fuck did Wolf do for you that you’re so willing to help a Hellbound Lover you barely know?”

“It’s not what he did, it’s who he saved. He helped someone very important to me. I’ll forever be grateful to him and his band of misfits. So before we get all weepy eyed and start to hug shit out I suggest you listen to your girl there. She’s saving your life, man.”

I looked at Gabriela who was leaning against my side. Her pretty green eyes assessing me, pleading with me. I felt this surge of emotions and I realized I didn’t want to let her down either.

I turned to her and cupped her cheek and my heart clenched as she closed her eyes and dipped her chin, rubbing against the palm of my hand.

I pressed my forehead to hers and tightened my hold along her neck. “I won’t let you down. I won’t leave you,” I whispered only for her.

She squeezed my hand in acknowledgement, and in that moment, I knew that after this was all over, I’d be free. Free to love this amazingly bright angel that suddenly appeared in my godforsaken life.

  GABRIELA

We parked in front of the MGM Grand and waited a moment. Diesel turned and looked at me, concern etched in his brow. “You follow my lead, you got that?”

I looked back at him arched an eyebrow and shrugged. “I kind of do my own thing Agent Roma. It’s how I don’t, get dead.”

He gripped my thigh and I flinched as he squeezed a little too tight. “I’m not kidding around, Gabriela! I want you safe, and in order for me not to focus on you, I need you to follow my lead.”

I stared at him for a long moment and decided to go with his plan-for now. “Fine. Lead the way macho man.”

“Hey!” He winked at me as we both climbed off the bike and quickly made our way across the street. I followed him down a back alley. The water dripping out of the air conditioners above, splashed on the cement floor, forming small puddles.

Ryan Simon and his Death Row Shooters were already inside of the casino scoping things out. Their mission was to set their eyes on La Cruz. We were all wearing earpieces and Ryan had contacted Wolf and the brothers before we left to see how far away they were. Backup was definitely on the way. Word around town was that Calvaro was using the hush hush Las Vegas underground tunnels to travel through the city without being noticed. He used the ocean to travel from port to port. Son of a bitch definitely knew how to worm his way out of sight. He was already starting to give out orders and the gangs were starting to move. If we didn’t stop him now, all hell was going to break lose and the Hellbound Lovers would be caught right in the middle of the shit storm.

We were walking into the MGM Grand through a back door that Poe was leaving propped open for us. Security was tight and it was the only way to get in unnoticed. I had made a call to my Director, who was well aware of the situation since the FBI had paid him a visit. He wasn’t too happy about the fact that he found out through them and not one of his own, he was also having a fit because I was putting myself in danger again, but he wasn’t going to stop me either. He knew me too damn well to know that when I set my mind to something I was going to go through with it. I was very similar to him when it came to things like that. The conversation was more a reprimand than concern over the legalities.

  “Watch your back Cristiano!”

“I’ll update you when we’ve placed the son of a bitch in handcuffs.” I rolled my eyes as he continued to give me a speech.

“Just remember he’s wanted for manslaughter.”

“Don’t worry, Sir. I’ve got amazing backup.”

  “Gabriela!”

I sighed. “I’ll be fine. I’ll call you.”

I shook my head as I remembered the tone he had used. He was definitely crossing that line he kept telling
me to stay away from. If Diesel only knew the kind of backup he had, he’d thank me or run screaming.

I stared at his broad back as I followed him through the hustle and bustle of the kitchen area. We got a few stares, but as soon as I showed my badge they all looked away. They all had something to hide.

Ryan’s voice rang through the earpiece. “Son of a bitch isn’t here, but we’ve got one of his gunmen paying the slots. Poe’s got eyes on him.”

“Shit!” Diesel stopped and headed out towards the slots. He stopped staring out at the ocean of slot machines. “Where is he?”

“You’re looking right at him. The big guy, gray suit, twelve o’clock.”

We both turned in that direction and spotted the guy, he was staring right back at us. His eyes grew, recognition glowing in them as he stared back at Diesel. And then just like that, one moment we’re having a stare off, the next I’m running after Diesel as he’s chasing this son of bitch through a fucking casino.

Stools are being toppled over, people being swung in our paths, chaos ensues and all I can do is show my badge and yell for people to get out of the way. We lose him for a second and then the chase starts up again as we spot him running out of the casino. People are lined up by the fountains as we’re still trying to not lose this fucker.

“Diesel!” I yell and point to my right as I spot the guy getting in a white vehicle.

“Fuck!” He grabs my hand and we run towards his bike. The car zooms past us just as the rumble of the motor starts and I hold on for dear life as we squeal out of the parking space.

Dodging cars and trucks and running red lights is not really how I like to spend my time, but Diesel was no joke. I could see why he had been awarded that Medal of Honor, he was a total badass. I held onto him tighter trying desperately not to get wet when we were in the middle of a seriously dangerous situation.

I couldn’t see shit through the helmet! I could only feel the cool wind on me as we sped on. After a few moments I felt him start to slow down. He pointed ahead and I spotted the white car across the street in a back end area. Diesel parked the bike in a spot where no one could see us and I slid off.
