Diesel (Hellbound Lovers MC, #7) Page 6

“Baby if we do this...” I looked up at him, my eyes showing my concern.

“Just do what I say.” He cupped my cheek and pressed me into his warmth. “I won’t let anything happen to you.”

I smirked. “I’m more worried about you than I am about myself.”

He kissed the top of my head and we both pulled out weapons taking the safety off. We made our way towards the car and as we did we spotted the entrance to the tunnels. The fool had led us right to his boss. Diesel signaled for me to stay close and I stayed right at his back as we entered the dark passage.

“Fuck,” I whispered as I slammed into his back.

“You hear that?” He whispered and I quieted, hearing the heavy footsteps in the distance.

We walked towards the sound, rounding a hallway. There was a door to our left and light poured in from it. Diesel and I stared down at the brick that was holding it propped open and then we stared at each other. He pressed his finger to his lips and I nodded. Slowly we made our way inside down another long expanse of a corridor. The footsteps were faint now and Diesel’s steps started to widen until we were running. Another door led us right into a dingy basement looking area and then we heard it, the rough whispers and then the shouts.

Diesel lifted his gun as we made our way down the dark hallway. We heard something heavy being thrown against the cement floor and then Diesel stopped. The sound of Liam Calvaro’s voice carrying right into the hallway.

“Fucking find him and kill him! What the fuck do I pay you for, you stupid-”Diesel walked in first, pointing his gun at Calvaro and the words quickly died on his lips.

Calvaro looked up at the sound of the gun clicking and he laughed cynically. “Well, look who it is? If it isn’t Jack Roma, the thorn in my fucking side. Took you long enough Jack. Thought I’d never get to see that pretty face again. ”

“Get the fuck up you piece of shit!”

Calvaro nodded slowly, and calmly stood up, raising his hands above his head. “Alright Jack. Where exactly are you going with this? You’re gonna shoot me? You want to shoot me, don’t you?”

  “Shut the fuck up!”

From the corner of my eye I spotted a big guy shift in the shadows. I took a shot to the wall near his head and he quickly appeared into the light. “Inside! Now!”

I continue to point my guns at them and shoved him towards the other loser that was already on his knees. “Guns to the floor and slide them towards me!”

My hand remained steady and all my nerve endings were on edge. One wrong move and either I or Diesel died. Banging sounded on the metal door behind us.

Calvaro smirked. “You’re not gonna get out alive, Jack. I might keep that exquisite morsel you brought with you, just to let her enjoy my cock for a while before I finish her off.

Diesel growled and pressed the gun to Calvaro’s head. “I’m going to fucking rip you in two.” He gritted menacingly.

“Diesel.” I whispered, he glanced up at me and his eyes were dark. “We need to get him back upstairs, Diesel. He needs to rot behind bars where he belongs.”

Diesel shook and pressed the gun harder into Calvaro’s temple. I could see his inner struggle in his hard features.

  “Diesel!”

“This piece of shit took everything from me!”

“I know, baby. But if you give in you’re just going to suffer more. Don’t let him win.”

“You should listen to your girl there, Jack. You got a smart one there. Fucking gorgeous too, maybe I’ll keep her for myself.”

I grimaced at the fucker and spat on the floor beside him. He was a vile human being and he was enticing the wrong man. If he continued, he’d be dead and Diesel would have ruined his life.

“Do it! You know you want to Roma. Put a bullet in the man who murdered your wife and unborn child. Do it. Do it!”

“Fuck you, you fucking psychopath!” He pressed the gun to his forehead, Calvaro’s neck tilting from the pressure on his temple.

Diesel’s jaw tightened and his hand shook slightly. The banging got louder and shots started to ring out as Calvaro’s men tried to bust through the door.

One of the guys in front of me shifted and I kicked him with all my might, right in the gut. Wheezing, he doubled over. The other man reached out and I pointed the gun at his head. “One more move and they’ll be scraping your brains off the floor.”

He raised his hands and backed off. I kicked the fallen man again and shoved him back. “Stay the fuck still!”

“I’m calling for back up, Diesel.” He ignored me as he seethed in rage beside me. “Diesel?” I placed my hand on his forearm and he looked over at me. “I’m calling for back up.” I stated.

He pulled back and ran a hand through his hair. “Fuck!” With that said he rammed the handle of his gun against the nape of Calvaro’s head hard and the piece of shit slumped down at his feet.

He pointed his gun at the two men before us and nodded. “Do it.” Keeping his eyes on them he crouched down. “Either one of you moves, and I’ll put a bullet through your fucking skulls.”

I called out to the Death Row Shooters and gave them our location, and then I called Charlie. “I need back up!”

“Where the fuck are you guys?”

“Las Vegas tunnels somewhere along the strip. You can track me on my cell phone.” Diesel looked at me as realization finally hit him. He shook his head and sighed, but he just looked at me.

I stared back at him as Charlie’s frustrated voice rang through. “Fuck, you could’ve told me that earlier instead of going silent. Goddamn it! I’ll have a team out there in no time.”

I heard shuffling and then gunshots ringing once again outside the door. Two heavy thuds sounded, heavy scuffling and then loud banging once again on the door.

Diesel and I froze and looked at each other. “Open the door, it’s us!” Ryan’s familiar voice rang through and I quickly went over to open it. Tugging on it, one of the guys fell over into the path of the doorway, bullet holes running along his chest. Looking up, there was a guy lying in a heap a little further down the hallway, also with gunshots covering his chest.

I looked from the dead men to Poe, Ash and Ryan. They looked at me and shrugged letting me understand that it was unavoidable. Poe looked at me and handed me his gun. “It was self-defense.”

I looked up at him sternly and I saw him look down. “It was them or my men. I chose my men.”

I took a deep sigh and grabbed the gun from him, tucking it in my back pocket. “Get the fuck out of here.”

“Are you sure? I mean, we’re your witnesses.”

“I don’t need any more witnesses. I need you to leave before you get arrested for first degree murder.”

Ryan looked over at Diesel and they nodded at each other. A signal that probably meant Diesel would owe him one. But it had been worth it. If not, these fuckers would have burst through the door and killed us both.

  “You spot La Cruz?”

Ryan shook his head. “Motherfucker headed out this afternoon. I’ve got eyes on him though. My source says he went back to L.A. Apparently, he has a thing for a stripper, been obsessed with her for months. Word is she’s shut him down, but the fucker just won’t take no for an answer.

  “Sounds like a smart girl.”

“Yeah well...we’ll catch him. I’ve already informed Wolf.”

Diesel nodded at him and as he turned to me he bent down. “If you ever need anything...”

  “Keep moving Simon!”

I smiled up at him and he gave me the brightest smile I’d ever seen. His blue eyes shining in amusement back at me. He whispered a goodbye and slowly made his way out, followed closely by his two bodyguards. They stepped over the two dead bodies and I watched Ash kick another guy as he walked by. The guy groaned and Ash looked up at me.

“You need me to take care of this one too.”

  “No! No, just go.”

I slammed the door and looked over at Diesel shaking my head in dis
belief. He half-smirked at me, pulled up a chair, flipped it around and sat in it. His gun kept pointed right at the two fuckers on the ground. I went over and sat on the metal table in the middle, staring at Calvaro’s slumped body. I aimed my gun right at his head in case he made a move, I’d shoot him dead.

“Is it a wrong time to tell you I love you?”

I stared at Diesel wide-eyed. “What?”

He kept staring at the goons in front of him and he growled as one of the guys tried to look up at him. “Keep your head on the ground motherfucker!”

He looked back at me and shrugged. “I just figured its best if I told you now, before the cavalry got here.”

“I don’t think this is the time or place.”

He nodded, looking down at his hands and I watched his eyebrow furrow. He looked cute sitting there all disconcerted and I couldn’t help but smile.

“I love you too,” I whispered.

He raised his eyes to meet mine and in that moment I wanted to run to him. To wrap my arms around him, but I couldn’t. Our eyes said it all, longing, sadness, happiness, eagerness. I knew he meant it with every fiber of his being, and that was enough for me.

We were interrupted by the lights of the choppers above us and the sounds of police sirens engulfed the area.

Two loud bangs put us on alert. “FBI! Open up!”

I continued to point my gun at the two surly men as I made my way to the door. Diesel stood up, but reached out for Calvaro, dragging him up to his knees beside him.

I opened the door, with my badge in hand. “LAPD Detective, Gabriela Cristiano.”

The men made their way inside and shouted at Diesel to put his gun down. They had him on his knees and cuffed, before I could get to him.

I made my way through the wall of agents and crouched down beside him. “Uncuff him! He’s with me!”

“Where are his credentials?” One of the agents shouted.

“I’m his credentials!” Charlie appeared behind them all and looked down at Diesel. “He’s FBI Agent Jack Roma! He’s the one responsible for apprehending this piece of shit! Him and Detective Gabriela Cristiano.”

Diesel and Charlie looked at each other and Diesel nodded, letting him know he was grateful. As soon as his cuffs were off I was in his arms holding on to him tight.

“I’m not letting you go,” I whispered in his ear.

  He chuckled. “You better not.”

  DIESEL

After being transported back to a precinct and having been interrogated and prodded by several agents, I finally broke down and called Charlie. He told me everything had been resolved and that Gabriela had made a call. Whatever she did made them release us within the hour. As soon as we got out Gunner and Knox were waiting for us out front.

Knox smirked. “Took you long enough.”

I rolled my eyes. “A lot of help you were.”

“Well if you wouldn’t have run the fuck off,” Gunner stated angrily. He was pissed off and he had every right to be. “You do that to us again and I will fuck you up myself.”

I smirked and Knox threw me his cell phone. “Call Wolf man, he’s fucking pissed.”

I sighed and took a moment to call Wolf. After receiving the third degree he gave me a rough, get your ass back now, order. I shook my head as I hung up with him, knowing I had a lot of explaining to do when I got back.

I handed the phone back to Knox. “You need to head back. Ryan Simon’s got information on La Cruz. Looks like he’s got an obsession that just might be his downfall.”

Knox tilted his head in curiosity and I simply shrugged. “Women. Always a weakness,” I whispered the last part and stared at Gabriela who was leaning on my bike.

She smiled at me and I walked away from the two fools who were yelling that I better get my ass home quickly. I hopped on my bike and taking my girl, I ignored their asses. At least for tonight I did.

A half hour later, we were sitting in the buffet restaurant of the Renaissance Hotel. I wasn’t hungry, but Gabriela had pretty much piled an army sized portion of food on her plate before sitting down.

“How did you get us out so fast?” I narrowed my eyes on her.

“I have my connections.” she said teasingly.

  “What connections?”

She shrugged and stuffed herself with more food. I would have smiled, she looked so damn cute, but I was still curious about a few things.

“Okay then answer me this, how did my brothers get wind of our location?”

She raised a shoulder, completely unconcerned. “I have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.”

I leaned in. “Bullshit! You told on me didn’t you?”

She looked at me then, and licked her lips. “Do you have any idea how sexy you are right now?”

I smirked. Our adrenaline was still flowing and there was only one way to satisfy it. But I was going to get my answers first.

“Don’t change the subject on me. Answer me first and I’ll give you anything you want.”

“You show me yours and I’ll definitely show you mine,” she winked.

I growled and watched as her eyes glazed over. “Fuck Gabriela,” I groaned and reached down to my crotch, trying to readjust myself to no avail.

She leaned back in her seat and stared back at me, those pretty green eyes assessing me. She set her fork and knife down for a moment. “Does Tony Cristiano ring a bell for you?”

I thought for a second and I remembered Chastity mentioning that Gabriela’s father was a decorated officer and held high ranks in the force. When I researched Gabriela, I read that through her father she had risen in the ranks, but her efforts proved she was a hell of a shot and a hell of an officer. I looked up at Gabriela and she raised an eyebrow.

“He was announced Chief of Police last year.”

“So, you’re Dad’s the Anthony Cristiano? Chief of police for the LAPD?”

She nodded as she shoved another spoonful of rice into her mouth.

“And you weren’t going to tell me this?” I asked watching her eat.

  “It wasn’t relevant.”

“How is your father being the current Chief of Police not relevant?”

“I don’t like using him as a safeguard, but this time we needed him. I thought you knew.”

“His name suddenly registered.” I said matter-of-factly.

Her mouth fell open in mock shock. “I thought you said you had, what was it, done your research on me?”

“Oh, I did do my research. I just got caught up researching other parts of you instead. And I still have a lot more to find out about Gabriela Cristiano. I’m going to have to do a thorough investigation.”

Her eyes met mine and she smiled naughtily. “Oh yeah?”

“Oh, believe me Detective, there’s sooo much more investigating I need to do.” I smirked.

She smiled at me and put another spoonful of rice into her mouth. “He wants to meet you by the way?”

“Oh, he does, does he?” I leaned back crossing my arms over my chest. “I wonder why?”

“Well I did tell him I was in love with you. I think that might have prompted it. He’s probably looking at your background as we speak.”

I leaned forward and pulled the plate away from her. “Hey!” She grabbed for it and I grabbed her hand.

“Is that what you told him?”

“Whaat?” She whined petulantly as she tried reaching for the plate, but I kept it away.

I scraped my chair back and pulling her up I switched places with her, propping her on my lap. I gently cupped her cheek and ran my thumb along her bottom lip. She had a tiny white rice grain stuck to her bottom lip and I reached up and traced the same path with my tongue. She groaned and shifted on my lap. “You love me?” She whispered against my lips.

I smiled. “I love you.” I whispered back.

She gripped the lapels of my jacket. “Take me up to the room. Now.” She commanded and leapt off my lap, practically runn
ing out of the restaurant.

“I thought you were hungry!” I yelled out after her.

She turned to me, a mischievous look in her eyes. “I am.” Her eyes travelled down my length and landed on the bulge straining against my pants.

She laughed and continued on her way. I dropped thirty dollars on the table and made my way towards her. She was holding the door to the elevator as I approached her.

“Hurry up now, Agent. I don’t think I can wait any longer.” I strode over to her and picked her up slamming her against the side of the elevator. The doors closed and I punched in the number for the tenth floor.

  She groaned. “So far up.”

I kissed her neck and pressed my hips against hers. She whimpered and sighed as my hands dove into her shirt, pulling on her nipples and biting her neck.

  “Diesel.” She breathed.

I smiled. “That’s right, baby. I’m your Diesel.”

“I need you so much, Diesel.”

I looked at her then and she placed a hand on my chest. “I need you, Diesel. I didn’t know how much until now.”

I hadn’t felt this overwhelming feeling, ever. I loved Isabel, I know that, but it was a new and innocent love with her. She had been my high school sweetheart and she was young and virginal. It was the sweet type of love you read in fairy tales.

But with Gabriela, it was an overwhelming desire to protect her, to be needed by her, to make her mine in every way. It wasn’t an innocent love, it was real and raw, laced with lust and passion and we both hungered for it.

She hung onto me and pressed her forehead to mine. “I love you Jack Diesel, Jack Roma, or whatever the fuck you want to call yourself.” She lifted her head and her eyes met mine. “I just love you.”

My mouth met hers in an ardent kiss. It said everything, how much she wanted me, how much I craved for her. Her mouth, her body, her soul was mine for the taking. And I was going to cherish every little bit of her that she gave to me.
