“Hmm, you didn’t give me another option but to show you I can do much better than acceptable.”

He grins, and mischief sparkles in his eyes. He scoops me in his arms and throws me over his shoulder, and a surprised cry escapes my mouth.

  “Damien.”

“You challenged me. Now there’s only one possibility.”

I snort giggle as I try to stay serious. “And that would be?”

“You take what I’ll give you and afterward, if you can still form coherent thoughts, you can say if it was acceptable enough for you.”

The amusement dies on my lips as I’m overtaken by tingling sensations rushing down my body. I shiver in anticipation, my voice dropping to throaty. “Someone is overconfident. You raised the bar so high I question how you’ll meet the expectations?”

Our eyes collide, the determination and lust peeking from under his lashes, and my skin sets on fire. His breath caresses my lips, and his husky voice awakens a torrent of desire in me.

“Oh, baby, I’ll make sure you’ll never doubt my words again. You’ll beg for me to stop, but do you know when I’ll finally stop?”

I bat my eyelashes at him. “When you fall asleep?”

The easiness we tease each other with reminds me of our history. A warm and fuzzy feeling settles in my stomach, and a smile slips from my lips.

I love the playfulness enveloping us. It reminds me of how well we fit as if we discovered, on an instinctive level, how to be with the other.

“We have some reminiscing and catching up to do. It’ll be such a pleasure, baby.” The untold promise rolls off that seductive mouth of his. I draw my lower lip between my teeth to fight back my lack of control around him. “I’ll stop when my name is the only thing your mind, heart, and body conjure. Get used to me filling you until you forget there’s a tomorrow.”

I put my mouth on his left ear and whisper-demand, “Prove it.”

His steely eyes burn with determination, his lips curling up. “I’ll prove it every day for as long as you’ll let me.”

There’s nothing more powerful than the promise of a forever.

“It’s going to be a long time then. I hope you can keep up.”

  “How long? Say it.”

Doesn’t he understand? If it were up to me, I would defy the laws of time and space to be with him.

“For as long as I breathe.” A feeling of liberation awakens inside me, and I smile. To let out and show the depths of my feelings for him render me free.

Emotions battle in his deep eyes, and I peck him on the lips.

“What you said, Bria . . . thank you for choosing me.”

“There was never another choice, Damien. Only you.”

“So, you won’t mind if I take what’s rightfully mine?” I shake my head, his eyes shining with undiluted joy, hypnotizing me. “Let me tell you how this will go. I’ll make love to you but after, I’ll fuck you, hard and rough.” I squeeze my legs together while he finishes, “Then, I’ll alternate between making love and loving to fuck you, and put it on repeat, baby.”

His rich smell—a combination of his unique manly scent and the sea and sun—mingle to conquer my senses. We burst through the door, and he slides me down his torso, his desire printed on every inch of my front. His passion ripples through me as I stare at his intense gaze.

“This is it. There’s no going back. I set you free, only for you to come back. It was your choice. You’ll never get rid of me. We’re it for life.”

All the pieces reunite and glue us together again. “Promise it, Damien.”

“I swear, Bria.” His hands grip my back, and he carries me up the stairs. The early rush vanishes, replaced by a sense of trust in us, in time, in the entire universe. A smile spreads across my lips as I place my head on his shoulder and kiss his neck. Embraced and in love, we stumble into the master bedroom.

He settles me on the king-size bed, and something shifts. This is the exact moment, the definite one, when we reunite. He crawls above me and dips his head. My hand flies up to tuck over his ear the thick, black, and soft strand of hair covering his eyes, and his face turns dreamy.

“You, on this bed with me on top of you is my favorite view in the world. But do you know what’s even better?” He nuzzles at my nose, and his grin imprints on my skin. “You naked on this bed with me sliding between your legs.”

Desire rocks between us, heat creeping up my cheeks, and his eyes turn darker.

He sheds my white beach dress followed by my white thong. I lay naked, everything exposed—my scars and the goose bumps. I don’t shy away but open myself more. I come to love my perfect imperfections that define me. His finger glides from my chest marred in stitches but showing of survival, down to a tattoo as a sign of love and beauty.

His eyes shine with assurance and love, and my heart expands with adoration. Love for love, need for need, desire for desire. Our love builds emotion for emotion, feeling for feeling, life for life. With our eyes connected, we re-establish our bond.

The window cracks open as the breeze flows in and prompts the blinds to dance. The waves crash at the shore as if they’re saluting our reunion, singing their approval. Damien’s trembling fingers cup my face, his lips slamming to mine. “You’re beautiful.” I press him to me and wrap my hands around his back.

  “I need you.”

He disentangles himself from me, peels his navy-blue swimming shorts off, and anticipation builds inside me. The sight of him naked turns my body into undiluted lust.

My hands fly to his ripped chest, and I stroke his defined arms while his fingers draw pleasure from within me. I bite down on my lip and moan. My head falls back, but I spread my legs wider.

“So eager and wet for me already, baby?”

His voice is heavy with desire while his mouth nibbles on my peaked nipple.

The sheet ruffles with my body rocking with pleasure as he trails sweet and torturous kisses from my ankles to my lips. His masterful touch ignites me from within. Our heated eyes collide, and he growls in satisfaction.

“Seeing you lost to my kisses and touches . . . it’s the greatest turn-on.” He continues his sweet assault on my body until I squirm with the need to be taken.

I writhe underneath him, my toes curling up.

  “I, I’ll . . .”

  “Come, baby.”

I shout out his name, my orgasm rippling through me, and my back crashes onto the mattress, my eyes locked onto his sparkling ones with satisfaction.

  “Beautiful.”

I smile like a fool-struck lover, my finger brushing his chiseled cheek and he urges, “I need to be inside you.”

He grabs my hand and puts it on his hardon, his desire transforming his face. I shiver in expectation.

He devours my mouth as I suck on his tongue. Our raw lust veils us in.

Damien grins, his erection thick and eager between my legs. He slides inside of me and a moan parts my lips, the feeling of being full of him washing over me.

He wraps my legs around his shoulders, getting deeper. I bite down on my lip and shut my eyes. His name pouring from my lips is the only thing my mind seems to remember as I come.

He follows shortly, pure pleasure escaping his gorgeous mouth. Damien collapses on top of me, and I caress his back while his mouth nuzzles my neck.

Whatever we have is worth living and fighting for.

He raises his head, his eyes filled with adoration and determination, as he puts his forehead on mine.

“I’ll make you feel my love until you’ll never doubt me. I belong to you as you belong to me, so let me prove it.”

Tears gather and roll down my cheeks, while I cup his face and rise to kiss him. “I love you.”

His eyes glisten, and he says through kisses, “Not as much as I love you.”

I shake my head, sliding my fingers up and down his arm. “It’s not possible.”

With a delighted look, he switches us, chest to chest, cuddled up together. With my head
on his pumping heart, singing the most alluring lullaby, I fall asleep to the sensation of home.

  In his arms, I’m home.

  BRIA

I wake up hours later with a complete sense of satisfaction and belonging enveloping my sore body. The sun peeks from under the horizon, welcoming a new day, a beginning, dawns over the world.

I caress Damien’s gorgeous face, his full lips, and his prominent cheeks. I know my fondling will wake him up, but I need him. A grin passes his lips as his eyes flutter open presenting me with his stunning steel blue eyes, in which I dive. I peck him on every inch of his face, the smacking echoing around us. He lifts me on top of him, and my lips stretch into a huge smile. His hands squeeze around my waist.

“I might get used to waking up like this. Actually, I decided it’s mandatory.”

I tilt my head and tap a finger on my lips as if I am in deep thought. “Well, if it’s mandatory, I’ll comply.”

His eyes widen, and his mouth drops while I suppress a smile. “You agree without making me go crazy first?”

“I’m not sure about the latter, so don’t test your luck.”

A goofy grin plasters his face, but the energy shifts when his growing erection pokes me through the sheet.

I support myself on my palms on his abdomen, feigning disbelief. “Again?”

He bends and grazes his lips over my pointed buds while peering at me from under his arched eyebrows, amusement and happiness shining in his eyes.

“You lay naked and on top of me.”

In an instant, he sheds the sheets, and we lay skin on skin. I move to kiss him, and as he ravages my mouth, I lower myself on him and he moans.

“You play dirty, Bria. I warned you that I would fuck you after making love to you.”

I shiver with his voice lowering to guttural, and a cry of surprise rushes out of my mouth as he throws me on the mattress.

He climbs on top of me, his lips curled in a mischievous grin, a promise of sweet torment. He shoves himself inside me, and a torrent of pleasure cries flees my body.

“Put your hands on the wall and support yourself.”

My hands slam on the wall, and he thrusts back inside me, the bed squelching under us.

My hand muscles throb, and he pins me to the bed. On my belly, he sinks into me, and rivers of moans flow from my mouth.

He catches my disapproval as he pulls out and crashes his lips on mine.

  “Baby, I’m not done.”

He spreads my legs more, his head diving between them. I grip and yank at his hair and throw my head back.

“Damien, I’m all for fairness. I want to taste you, too.”

He opens me with two fingers, latches on me, and I shiver.

We pleasure each other, and I grunt in frustration when he stills. He kisses my pout away, a ring of desperation in his voice, “I need to come inside you and watch you come.”

He lifts and places me on top of him with my legs curling around his thighs and my arms wrapped around his neck. With my chest glued to his, he pushes himself inside me, and a breath of absolute delight passes from my lips.

Minutes later, we explode, tumbling from the pleasure peak, eyes locked on the other with wide smiles etched on our faces.

He presses me to him, his hands shelter me in, and his mouth seals on mine. We plant in the other the love we created for it to grow, spread, and color our world.

“You’re everything I’ve ever wanted. You, Bria, are what every one of my dreams is made of. You’re my life and heart. Never forget it.”

Happy tears gather in the corners of my eyes. He dips his face and kisses them away. He reignites in me a lost feeling of being cherished.

I rest my head on his chest and stroke it.

“I’m yours for as long as you’ll want me.”

He tips my chin up, and our eyes lock. Noticing the plea behind them elevates my soul.

  “Promise it.”

I cup his face in mine, a promise dangling from my lips as I kiss him. “I swear it.”

He swaps us as my back hits the mattress, he settles between my legs, and I squeal as his grin transforms his face, and he beams.

  “You agreed to a forever.”

  “Forever?”

“I’ll make sure it’ll be a forever us for eternity.”

His words balm my heart, and my chest unlocks for happiness to barge in.

“Let’s get you cleaned up, love.”

“And here I thought you loved to see me all ravaged.”

He answers by digging one finger in me, spreading our release on my thighs and legs. His gesture holds something forbidden but enticing as I peer at what he painted on me. On my right thigh glistens the word “mine” like an inked brand.

His forehead creases as his eyes burrow in me. “Do you agree?”

I lift an eyebrow and draw my lip between my teeth. “Do I have another option?”

“Not as long as you don’t want any other.”

His eyes swim with doubt. I wrap my arms around his neck and declare over his ear, “I, Bria du Mont, belong to Damien du Sky, always have, always will. Don’t you dare look confused at me again. It breaks my heart.” I cup his chin and shake it. “I don’t know how not to be yours.”

He grabs my hands in his, trailing kisses over my knuckles, his reverence tugging at my heart.

“You always succeed to put me on my knees. I’ll try every day to be worthy of your love and beauty.”

He scoops me in his arms and puts me down only when we reach the bathroom. While he lowers to fill the oval tub next to the window with a spectacular view of the sea, I lean on the wall ogling his naked body.

He snaps his head in my direction, a smirk spreading his lips, his eyebrow raised. “Like what you see?”

Heat pokes at my skin, a pleasant and orgasmic memory involving his toned body passing my eyes. “Oh, you’ve no idea.”

“Perhaps I should always be naked around you.”

I hide my face behind my palms and peek through my fingers. “I don’t know if I can handle all the sexiness.”

He bursts into laughter, and I follow. He extends his hand, and I nudge myself off the wall and sway to him. Our bodies sink into the bubble-filled water, and it soothes the tenderness between my legs.

  “Are you sore, baby?”

“We both know the answer to that.”

He suppresses a satisfied, proud grin. “Let me take care of you. You in my arms, and I’ll never need nor want anything else.”

I tilt my face to him and kiss him in a love confession.

As I inhale the sweetness of his words, we lack nothing at this moment. The nearness is everything we need to be complete and at peace.

His hands tighten around my waist, and his head leans in the crook of my neck.

“I’ll give you everything, just name it. But stay with me and let me love you. It’s what I need to know you’re mine and at my side.”

“Where could I go, if in your arms I’m at home? But . . .’’

“I haven’t forgotten, just promise me you’ll always find a way to us.”

“Damien, love has never been our problem.”

His gaze darts to the ceiling, and his body stiffens under my caresses.

The tension of all the things we avoid dangles around us.

He drags a hand down his face, and he presses me to his chest. “I want a life with you, Bria, to move on. Our love is enough.”

A cold shiver runs through me. I shut my eyes and bring my knees to my chin. “What if it isn’t?”

His hands intertwine over my belly, and determination marks every one of his words. “We’ll find a solution. I can’t imagine life without you. I won’t accept that this undying love for you isn’t enough. Of two things I’m sure of, my love for you and that I want to hold you in my arms for as long as I walk and breathe on this earth.”

“Are we ready to face our past and also overcome it, love?” Water spills over the edge as I switch to face him
.

He cups my face in his, his steel-blue eyes burning with conviction. “We have to. I can’t lose you for a second time . . . you can’t possibly understand . . .”

Tears gather in my eyes and I place my hands over his. I do, I really do . . . but is it enough?

  BRIA

I dab my face with light makeup and pull my hair into a casual bun. After I inspect every piece of clothing in the dressing room sorted from type to color, I change into a navy cotton dress. Damien slips into a polo and white shorts and threads his hands through his hair to style it. At the visual my brain melts.

He approaches me and locks his hands around me. “Ready?”

I remember about the talk, and anxiety threatens to strangle me, but I tip my head and gather all my courage. “We should eat first.”

Concern hangs in the air as we plod down the stairs hand in hand.

It’ll demand a lot from us to deal with everything we left unsaid for so many years.

I gather strength at the thought it’s more than about me, it’s about us, but I can’t shake the feeling we’ll bleed before we’ll get to the healing part.

One word and all hell could break loose. Plus, we aren’t the ones to wear gloves and tread carefully. No, we’re two giants stepping inside a porcelain store represented by our “little” unresolved issue, formed by many other “little” issues we have.

My head splits with the headache throbbing behind my temples.

Damien disappears outside, and my anxiety grows.

I pace around the living room, sink into the couch only to repeat the process seconds later. Not even my smartphone holds my interest for long as I scroll through hundreds of missed calls and unanswered emails. When I go back, I’ll bury myself in my office for a month straight.

The rich smell of grilled food penetrates my haze. I lift my chin and notice the server holding two plates, eyeing me. I gesture for him to place them on the table and mouth a “thank you” as he backtracks.

My hands fidget with my phone, and after breathing in and out, I nudge myself to dial both Quinn and Alex. I shove the thought of dealing with my parents for later. They must be at least in shock over the news Filip surely gave them about how Damien and I were together. I’m sure they won’t consider it was solely about work like my brother wants to believe.
