There was just so much blood! His mind was spinning and it kept coming back to the blood. This close, he could feel the terrible stench of all of it. Revulsion lurched within his stomach and he struggled to not vomit, clutching at the door frame. There was so much blood all over the walls, he couldn't believe a man did this. Even a wild animal would not be this fierce. Was it only a man he had fought?
All further wondering ceased as he looked upon Melody's mangled face, staring sightlessly into space. He fell to his knees and cried.
Jake was still crying when the police showed up.
