Cetan was in his father's arms, sucking on a bottle. Cetan sucked down every bottle as if he had never been given food before. Corinne said, “Hand me the little man.” Once it was time to burp him, Sanur handed the baby over along with his burp cloth. Cetan let out a loud burp, then waved his arms and cried, demanding more milk. Sanur passed over the bottle, and the baby sucked greedily. “I swear, I think this baby may be part pig.” Corinne smiled down at the baby.

The babies were two weeks early. The giant petal house had been finished on time. The babies’ heads sported shocks of black hair, fat faces, bellies, and legs, cinnamon skin, and almond eyes. Everyone was in love with them.

The Thai teens flew up, four at a time, to meet their new brother and sister and to exclaim over the house. Supayalat had flown up with the last group, done some sort of naming ceremony with some Buddhist monks, and flown back with the teens to run the import/export business. It was the burning season in Thailand, so Tania, Sanur, and the babies were not going back to Thailand anytime soon.

Putu circled the room with more drinks, careful to not go anywhere near the hammock where Tania was sleeping. Despite having a husband and two friends that liked to get up with the babies, the babies didn't like being separated from her very often.

Htet took advantage of a moment when Sanur wasn't holding a baby and brought over an iPad with some papers for him to sign electronically. Sanur read them and poked at them with a stylus, while Htet looked adoringly at the babies. Sanur signed the documents and passed the iPad back, and Htet made his soundless way back to the office.

Cetan permitted himself to be changed and rocked, but refused to sleep, and opened his mouth to scream. Corinne padded over with the baby to the hammock and lay him atop his mother. Tania embraced the baby in her sleep, and Cetan put his head on her stomach, closed his eyes, and slept. Corrine, Kandace, and Sanur all sipped their drinks in their hammocks or reclining chairs, lay back, and took advantage of the silent babies to take a nap.

Putu went to start dinner, and Htet took advantage of the quiet to do several loads of laundry and file all the business paperwork. He thought about making plans for Corrine and Kandace's return trips, but he suspected the women were not leaving anytime soon. Why would anyone want to leave paradise?
