If she knew how much she would get mad at the question, she would not have.

-In Compton, turning left the south of downtown. In the third block, red brick building, -she explained, looking out the window. She was too nervous to look at him.

-Why would a woman move to the same street where she was almost raped? - If you want to make it happen, why do not you just walk around naked? If you do not know, this is the most dangerous neighborhood in the city. It was amazing how he could not talk to her other than screaming. Jesse had the power to take him seriously.

-Because that was the only place my money could afford. -Her answer hit him in the wrong, probably an apartment in that area would be about eight hundred dollars a month six times less than he paid for a jacket he bought last week.

Was she feeding right? Or worse, he might not even have anything to eat at home.

Blade for a moment took her eyes off the road to look at her and was startled by what he saw. Carter had evidently lost weight in that short time could see perfectly the contours of the bones beneath the skin, so fragile that they seemed to break as easily as a glass bowl. He also noticed how she wiggled the ring with a black pebble on her ring finger from side to side in a very delicate and sexy way.

  -Stop it, - he ordered.

  - With what? She asked confusedly.

-Fucking that ring so indecently. -He did not even understand why he said that he just wanted her to stop it immediately.

Jesse thought of answering him rudely but preferred to just ignore and look back at the landscape. Blade then noticed that there were more marks on his father's belt as strong as his neck.

  - Damn you! - He muttered under his breath. I would not let that go unpunished, not really.

  - Where are we going? - Jesse asked confusedly, that way was not the one of his neighborhood.

-Let's go, somewhere before you have to take off your wet clothes before you catch a cold. He's being careful, - she thought with a faint smile on her face.

Only then did Jesse realize how shaky he was, even with the hot air of the Impala connected in the last degree. It was not long before they entered a luxury condominium, one of the most expensive in Los Angeles. The house was the last of the street, the largest and most luxurious. You could not see right through the night and the glass of the car was foggy from the rain. A huge gate opened giving the sight of a hundred cars of all models, from Ferrari to classics of the eighties. It was obvious that he had a collection while she could not even afford an old bicycle.

They used an inner elevator that went right into what she assumed was his room. It was huge. Saying nothing, Blade disappeared into a door on the left, came back minutes later only in loose-fitting jeans showing his tattooed muscles and a set of gray sweats in his hands.

-Wear this and stay here until I come back. - He looked at her menacingly, frowning slightly, he was impatient. -Try not to break anything I will not be as good as last time. It was straight, the stern look made it clear he was not bluffing.

He threw the car keys over the nightstand and hurried out of another door that led into the hallway. Jesse closed the door immediately, getting rid of his wet clothes as fast as she could, shaking her already cyanotic lips in a bluish tone. Blade blouse was huge on the girl, almost a dress. Carefully he sat in a leather armchair beside a round table, where there was a collection of books by famous philosophers such as Aristotle, Plato, Socrates and René Descartes. Why would a bad guy like to read something like that? He did not seem to be a man who read philosophy or even poetry.

**There was also a lamp and some personal belongings of him, a few. He remained motionless as if he were afraid to sit on the bed and break it. Without moving her body, she rolled her eyes discreetly, watching every detail of the place. Just like his bedroom in the hiding place, he did not show much furniture, but what he had was exquisite and tasteful. A spacious bed in the center, Carter wondered if he should bring lots of women in there. He deduced as soon as he did, a handsome man like that did not seem to be the guy who spent his nights alone. The walls painted in a dark gray-frosted tone. Horrible, she thought, with glass shelves filled with miniature cars, including one identical to the Impala 67. I would not doubt if he had a miniature of every car he saw in the garage. Beside the door she thought she would take to the bathroom, there was a closet. He figured there would be no harm in taking a peek from a distance, without touching anything. She walked in very carefully, stepping on tiptoe like a ballerina. There were a lot of hanging hangers, separating the pieces by color and style, and two rows of black and white shirts. It looked like a chessboard, it was obvious the lack of strong tones, liked it a lot, always preferred neutral tones to pink shock. Elsewhere he noticed leather jackets and wooden shelves with several bent jeans. The pieces varied in brands like Calvin Klein, Dolce Gabbana, Armani and others that people of her class were not aware existed. He did not resist and eventually took one of the jackets to smell it he was so stunned that he was stepping back looking for something to lean on until the firmness of his legs returned. Was it not enough to be beautiful it had she to be with scented too?

When she reached the wall with her back, she had the impression that she had moved, turned frightened, and saw a small opening in her. It was a secret passageway to a room full of weaponry, a veritable arsenal. Booths containing the most powerful weapons in the world, among automatic machine guns, pistols of various models, M16 rifles, M4A1 carbines, long range rifles, Warfare or AW, combat shotguns. Jesse even drooled on a Desert Eagle left prominently on a tripod. He had always dreamed of having one, it was silent and fast. But what shocked him even were the pictures of men with totally different styles, but with the same physical traits. They were pictures of various times, much of it in black and white, the clothes also made clear the time difference from one to another. Certainly, a Maldonado family tree, highlighting the patriarchs of the family the most important detail was that they all held the same weapon. It was a relic passed from father to son. My God! So “The Colt” really exists. The proof of her legitimacy was the pentagram on the cape representing protection against evil. Legend has it that the weapon and the thirteen bullets specially made for it were made by Samuel Colt, a gunsmith, inventor and industrialist of Hartford. He founded Colt's Patent Firearms say that when Halley's Comet passed at one thousand eight hundred and thirty-five. The weapon was much quoted by John Winchester, Dean's father, and Sam in the series Supernatural, season based on the real legend. He claimed that any being struck by one of these would die, including creatures that are immune to bullets, for they were made of sacred iron or silver and engraved with the numbers from one to thirteen. Besides serving to kill any creature, it is also one of the keys to opening one of the gates that separate our Earth from the lower world, preventing the entrance of these beings into our reality. They say that there are other weapons capable of wounding supernatural beings, but of all, the Colt is by far the most efficient. In it is engraved the following phrase: "Non timebo mala", which means "No mal I fell fear", reference to Psalm 23: 4.

No one ever proved, in fact, that the weapon existed. Samuel never assumed he had raised her, but he never said no. According to historians, the play was made in secret with the help of his father, who was a man with vast biblical knowledge, so he wanted to create the only weapon capable of being able to injure any being, mortal or not.

In the last frame, Jesse saw a man with an evil face, with Blade's intense blue eyes. The frame was more modern than the others, the picture in vivid color. In an elegant white suit of the black bow tie, with a beautiful red rose in his pocket, he had light brown hair, smooth and silky. He held the Colt tightly as if it were the most valuable thing in the world. Jesse had seen that gun before, one day when he was ten years old he passed in front of his father's office, thought it was just a cheap copy. Now she was sure it was legitimate, but she thought: how had she left the Maldonado family and gone into the Major's hand?

She did not have much time to
reason, she was forced to leave in a hurry to hear altered voices coming from another room of the house. sHe followed where they came from, she should not, but she did it anyway. She was worried about Maldonado, she was afraid someone might be hurting him. She leaned against the open office door.

-What's so important you can´t wait until tomorrow, Stephen? - He recognized Blade's angry voice, seemed to be always in a bad mood. - I have a problem to solve I want to get rid of it soon!

Jesse felt sick, that's how he saw her, a "problem", just wanted to get rid of her as fast as a stone in his shoe.

  - I discovered something very important in a bar on the south side of the city, and it's about you Maldonado! - The investigator was startled by the excess concern in that low voice, it was Salvatore's, she could feel a certain natural sobriety in her and a strong English accent.

-First I'd like to ask you to say something very important to you, Estevão. -He had a slight Oriental accent she realized at once that he was a very educated Chinese. - Fuck you! You two fucking motherfuckers - Xing exploded angrily.

-Guys, what violence is that? - Salvatore asked in horror at his little outburst.

-What English? Li has every right to be pissed at you he was desperate with the disappearance of the two. Am I even trying to find out what you were doing on the south side of the city? That place is dangerous even for men like us, do not tell me you came back to yourself ... -Julius did not even dare finish the sentence, remembering this time in Estevão's life was painful for everyone. -I also wanted to know how Blade got out of that place full of cops surrounding the place. The mountain of muscles looked like a sulky child, especially from the closed face of a beak.

-First, where Stephen was not our business, let alone how I managed to get out of there is yours, so stop joking and let him talk what he found out. - Jesse realized that Blade was not authoritarian only with her, it was his nature.

-I left the party aimlessly, I was not well ... - I needed something strong, so I went to Bacardi Bar. I was sitting at the drinking counter, wearing my hood with the hood on my head, there were two men sitting next to me that started a heavy affair. He paused, did not know how to say it. "It was about the death of their parents, Blade, there were people of ours from the world of crime who sold their heads to the police and received a fortune to take them to that ambush. It was a trap. Now it is theirs who are willing and offered twice as much as they paid for them. From what I understand these guys in the bar were strips in disguise, there are people on both sides wanting to earn that money. We can´t trust anyone and be very careful until we get these motherfuckers and when that happens, may God have mercy on them.

Jesse was not breathing anymore he was desperate for what he had heard they wanted to kill him at all costs. And, what do you mean, people from the police set up to get his parents? Was it all a fraud and an attitude to kill them? She thought. The worst was that her father was involved, the investigator just did not know to what extent, but would find out everything, especially for the Colt was with him.

-And how much would that amount be? - Li asked interested, with a thick arched eyebrow.

  - Shut up, Chinese. - Julius slapped him on the back of his neck.

-My God, we can´t even joke about the misfortune of others. -Xing rubbed the sore spot.

-By the blood of Jesus, now is no time to make jokes. -Stephen rubbed his impatient face, he was really worried.

-Did you say they sold my parents' heads? - There was a mixture of anger and pain in Maldonado's voice.

-From what I understood, yes, Blade, and there were big police people involved in it. - Salvatore looked sadly at his partner, knew how much it hurt to touch on that subject. I was heartbroken because of the reunion with Nayla but left the next issues at the time for a greater cause: the life of a friend.

-Well, I'm going to find everyone involved in it and quarter it one by one, there's no one left to tell a story.- Carter had to take a deep breath to see if the chill that his somber tone caused him to pass. There was much evil in his words, like a snake distilling the venom. -But that's my problem, I do not want to involve you in this.

  - He played with one, he played with everyone. - The Mexican slapped him on the shoulder, showing they were in this together.

-I only know I want to see a shot, a blow, and a bomb, - the Chinese shouted, excited.

  - You said it, China! Let's get on top of them! -Julius tapped Xing's hand that looked like a child's compared to his.

-Li, do you think you can get into the police file and have access to my parents' case? - Blade asked.

The investigator froze the major's name would be there. She was so desperate that sweat beaded down her face, she did not know what to do.

  - Unfortunately not. I can find anything on any computer. But this case has been filed long ago, must be stored inside a box in the police station that was detained. We would need the help of someone inside to have access to it, the problem is to get someone reliable for it - the Chinese exclaimed discouraged.

  - I can help. - Jesse materialized at the door in a burst of courage, almost killing Blade's heart and rage.

  - Who's the crazy one? - Estevao asked noticing the helpless being standing in the doorway, too brave for anyone who was only five feet tall at most. She did not fail to notice that she was wearing Blade's clothes, which he was quite surprised at since she was not even his type at all.

-I'm Je ... - She tried to say something, but she was too nervous for that. She tried to reach him, but she stumbled on the suede rug but did not fall this time. It was worse, leaning on a shelf, in which he dropped a statue worth a million dollars.

  - Did anyone get glue there? - Jesse asked absently, a yellow smile on his face.

-Do not you ever do what I say, damn it? - Blade shouted impatiently. She averted her gaze, focusing anywhere but for him.

The Mexican got up from the purple-purple couch, making this ranger as thank you for being able to rest a little from that heap of weight so that he could observe it better, he was intrigued. Curious about that small, fragile being with wide-eyed eyes standing in the doorway, it looked like a frightened doll. She thought of running away, she was the tallest man she'd ever seen. Julius folded his arms, his muscles nearly exploded so wide he stared at her suspiciously, thinking what a little flower like that was doing in the monsters' lair.

-I think they left the door of the insane asylum open. - Li let out a loud laugh really her hair had dried and was free in the air, completely at ease. She still had some paint on her face and the huge clothes she was wearing did not favor her at all.

-Making snack after work, Blade? - And we worried about you stuck in that place.

Jesse blushed at the malicious way that Julius made the comment, but he liked his voice, it was kind.

-I'm not the man to make a snack. -If it is not to make the full meal, I prefer not to touch the plate. It was unnecessarily thick.

Maldonado was a curious mix of irony with sarcasm. She never knew when he was careful, being thick or mocking her. At that moment none of the hypotheses fit the situation.

-Because I've had my meal today, it's not any beans with rice that kills my hunger. - Jesse did not understand his comment, but he inexplicably blushed anyway.

-The conversation is great, but so far no one has told who Samson is. - Stephen could not help it her hair was too flashy it seemed to have a life of its own.

  - I'm Jesse, nice to meet you all!

Blade sighed nervously the three of them had smiled at that sweet voice. They were delighted, even Estevão. It was not quite a relaxed smile of his lips, which was very coming from him. He walked over to him, who was wearing a pair of odd pajamas sitting at a chess table, with a game halted in the middle. she frowned, intrigued, not frightened by her somber appearance, still smiling as if she were a normal person.

-Stephen Salvatore, at your service Miss! - He exclaimed politely, but did not offer his hand, would never let anyone touch him.
Carter hugged him fervently she was like that, sweetheart. Even with those who did not want to, but needed.

  - Can you let me go now? -He brushed her away, but he liked the hug. I needed one that one came at the right time.

-Sorry, - she said, embarrassed, totally timid.

-She's so cute, can we have her? - Julius said delightedly with this being of spontaneous attitude.

-You will not want it anymore when you know who she really is, - Blade muttered, leaning her large body on the desk, dropping some of the objects on top of her. -Why do not you tell them what you work with? - They will love to know ... -He challenged her.

-I'm an FBI investigator from Los Angeles, - she said bravely, -I would not give him the victory that easy she was a fighter.

Their enchantment for her ended the moment they heard the word "investigator," she was on the enemy side. As if by instinct, in a fraction of seconds they were in a strike position and she was the target. Stephen with Nick and Clyde pointed at her head Li with a very sharp sword that she pulled out of a compartment on the back close to her heart Julius had both clenched fists ready to attack.

-No one's going to touch her, - Blade growled. -That's what you're going to have to get over me - If anyone wants to try, they can come. - He stood before her, staring at the three armed men without even clenching their fists. He was relaxed, totally calm.

-Well, you said you could help us? - Li lowered his sword now that his blade had fallen.

-Yes, I can, - she said, still hiding behind Maldonado. Her size took away all of her sights.

  - No, you can´t! -Maldonado turned to face her, looking at her with the face of a few friends.

  - Yes, I can! - She confronted Blade, putting his hands on his waist, his wild hair flying like a Firebird.

This was Jesse's great opportunity to work on a big case figuring out a corrupt police scheme could give her a good promotion and still clear how much her father was involved in all this.

  - Ah! Can you? - she does not even know how to hold a gun. Jesse is a real incompetent woman who almost killed his partner, a walking disaster. I do not want you involved in this and this is not in question. He gripped her arm tightly, probably leaving marks. He looked bad, -Actually, she's perfect! Who would be suspicious of her in that sullen face? -Stephen came with one more of his honest comments.
